He is the reason why people wants to play guitar.
He saved Judas Priest in my mind. He gave them a shot in the arm, that was so badly needed. He's a very talented player... When he decides one day to go on his own, He will be on everybody's short list... You could hear his influence on Redeemer Of Souls!
Agreed on all counts. Priest is amazing nowadays. Even Andy Sneap is doing a hell of a job. Bascially, Faulkner inherited the job of doing all the heavy hitting from Glenn and Sneap is doing some great production and filling in KK's shows nicely.
Ditto that. Firepower is a monster, the best album since Painkiller. I got to see them in 08 or 09 doing the British Steel anniversary. My friend said, " hey, my older sister gave me two tickets to Judas Priest, are they any good and do you want to go?". As you can imagine, after that night he didnt have any doubt as to who Priest were and if they were any good.
You must be very young. None of us who were rockin' with Priest back at the beginning want to have anything to do with that band now. They really, really suck at this point.
@@whatsabryan Your standards are obviously different than mine.

Observe - A master at work.
Richie is like combination of all classic rock metal guitarist but on steroids he is so good the phrasing and technique is in perfect balance
spot on... I was about to write the same exact thing
Yup that’s why he’s in Judas priest
Reminds me a bit of doug aldrich
Criminally underrated guitarist and a helluva nice guy to boot. That is the first green Flying V I've ever seen, (although I'm surprised it wasn't red and smoldering in flames at the end of that jam....) Incredible job Mr. Faulkner
fattystools right man
fattystools i Reckon you're Mr Faulkner
@MusicTherapy Laz The guitarist from Edguy has a Flying V in yellow, and it looks, to my mind, just as awesome.
@@christosfragias592 I have no doubt that is true! Green is my favorite color though! Guess I'm biased!
When he opens the "wha" acts 2:46 to 2:49 is simply spectacular, the control hold the bend along with "Wha" is too beautiful !!!!!
Wow...Faulkner has the the chops nailed down tight. He has it all down. The scales, modes, techniques. He effortlessly blends scales and modes together with perfect timing....unbelievable.!! Great guitar playing.
Can you tell me what he’s doing exactly - is it e harmonic minor or e Phrygian dominant? Or both or something completely different
Hands down, Richie is one of the top guitarists today!
Very smooth playing, melodic and clean.
Richie is going to be the next big thing in guitar legend history!
+MetalHayd no, Jordan drake is
MetalHayd Jeff Loomis or Alexi Laiho
yes this guy is a fucking monster!
@MusicTherapy Laz how is the guitar? Thinking of buying it
Nah. Too many better guitar players out there that don't get enough to credit! for example Andy Timmons, Neil zaza., vinnie Moore! As a guitar player myself for many years this is just rambling of notes staying in the key, it's been done WAY too many times.
If he is jamming im blown away...if its written Im even more blown away....this is underrated greatness
Richie is WOOWWW.... GREAT!!
I would totally buy this as a solo album. This chap is destined to be a real guitar legend.
Beautiful display of technique, taste and Variety!
I love the ending where he just looks at the camera like, yeah, I just did that.
Stumbled on this guy by accident, wow what a player . Truly awesome
Like they said in the movie.....the good , the bad , and the ugly , there are only two kinds of , guitar players, those who play like this guy ,and, those who sit and wish they could play like this guy !
this man damn sure knows how to Shredd...\m/
he is a seasoned guitarist and he belongs to a fuckin' great band JUDAS PRIEST honcho!
indeed!!! \\m//..............
Morbid Angel yea ... seriously impressive
indeed.......\\m//
most certainly... \\\m///
Amazing as always. My favourite modern guitarist.
This guy is incredible!!! Saw him for the first time in 2009 with the Lauren Harris band..... He blew my mind!!!! Keep on rocking, Richie!!!!!
Saw this guy at the Judas Priest concert at the Hard Rock he is Priest all the way, imagine his face when he got the job as a Priest guitarist,
Shredding absolutely shredding!!!
With the heavy Arabian minor licks all over his scales--
That flying V was about ready to start smoking!!!
Great Job 'Falcon'
It's now oct 15 and Richie just got discharged from the hospital. Sending prayers for healing to Richie
Appreciate you more now than before.
Yea he is very impressive. With all the "rock star" talent out there, how does Rich slide by the radar..? Not only doesnt get the recognition he deserves but the appreciation as well. Very clean, spot on at that speed.
I like how he's got both Uli and Schenker in his playing.
I was going to say schenker, Rhoads, and Wylde.
Never really listened to much of Wylde but I can see the Rhoads bit.
Well, Richie had quoted that Randy, Zakk and Michael were all inspirations for him.
Also some 80´s Gary Moore.
***** Vinnie Moore
I'm starting to think that Ritchie Faulkner is one of the best metal guitar 🎸 ever!!!!! 🤘😎🤘
priest picked the right replacement for downing, badass player .
Yes they did.
Yep!
Faulkner is a great player
that's all I have to say .dont want to miss as lick
This is way too awesome!
I love how Richie is now a member of Judas Priest and Andy James who wrote the backing track is now a member of 5 finger death punch...both hard working musicians who have found their ways to become included in highly successful bands. Much success Gentlemen...certainly appreciate your talents!
Can't express what I'm feeling
Wow, what a player !!!
Wow. Dudes got more soul than shang tsung
Brittany Branton Made my morning. Thanks.
Fatality !
Flawless Victory!
Brutality
Finish him!!!
That guitar is fucking gorgeous
Raw talent....Best we have seen in some time...Rhoads quality !!!!
There is so much Randy in Richie's catalog. Gotta love it. This is the kind of guitar playing that hits me. Just throw it out there and see what happens. Unscripted Chaos. The best kind.
For a moment i though that Randy Rhoads was still alive, they look alike while playing and both are awesome!!!
Magic of Flying )
You're not wrong there, scarily similar!
hector ibarra for sure. he attacks the strings the same way. Have a slight chunk in there on some of the parts. I was trying to figure it out. Thanks
They both seem to have comfort playing standing up, probably practiced a lot that way.
hector ibarra na the guitar would be bigger than him if it was Randy! Randy was a little dude! A badass but little. Lol
I love the way Richie plays.
Phrygian Rampage!!! \m/
Him and lynch sound similar in their attack on the phrygian scales.
i just found another great guitar influence. what awsome playing. needed this in my miserable exsistense
Omyfkngoidness yes yes
same here
Sad for you. Keep trying.
Dude, this guitarrist REALLY ROCKS!! He is one of a kind, the metal scenario was needing someone like him!! Be sure to listen to Jared James Nichols and Satchel from Steel Panther, these are two other revelations!!! KEEP ON ROCKINNNNNNN
Vctr Omt Satchel (Russ) is the real deal!
@@dougiemanross he just ended up in the wrong band .
Richie is a virtuoso without the ego. And his playing is mesmerizing. Love that green Flying V. Saw Edguy years back, and their guitarist had a Gibson yellow Flying V which looked awesome.
Love the green! And yeah the man can play! Wow!
His feel is amazing when you can hear every note he's playing awsom check out his solo in you got another thing comin when they play live it is some of the best guitar work I have ever heard
This guy is playing in JUDAS PRIEST !!! Nuff said !
yeah not recruited by coincidence for sure !
fuck Richie is AMAZING,i was sad when KK left priest, but damn this guy has some chops!!!!!!
+Whatever I actually have to disagree with you, I do think that Ritchie is an amazing player, but I don't think he's better than KK, and Glenn? Even less.
I do agree that when both guitarists were 35 they didn't play as good, but right now both of them play better than him, especially Glenn.
What I think this means is he'll eventually surpass both KK and Glenn, although he does have that priceless stage presence that we all love.
But does it really matter? The only thing that matters is that we both think that Mr. Faulkner shreds that guitar like a piece of paper, regardless of who's the better guitarist in Priest, and I honestly think they could have not replaced KK with a better musician. \\m//
+trillriff-axegrinder no, Jordan Drake is amazing
I'm super impressed by his ability to just go.. I agree there was not a lot of dynamics.. but then he'd never heard the track...so he raged in Phrygian and Spanish Phyrigian... people saying he sounds like Shenker and Roth are referring to that tonality.. but whatever. Not to be a pedantic wanker.. that was kick ass x100!
You can be as pedantic as you want seeing as your lead playing is on par with any of the greats!
Was he in e harmonic minor at all or all e Phrygian dominant?
@@JimMoorby oh dude I just saw this thank you so much that's a very kind statement I appreciate it... made my morning
Ritchie is a badass! His playing and stage presence has revitalized Priest!
Such a great and awesome musician... 💜💜💜
Wow that was great! I love how EMG is doing this...
Very exciting, fiery playing here combined with impeccable technique !
This guy's brilliant! Not heard him before. Love it.
That is some truly bad ass shredding!
LOVE Ritchie's playing!!
Thanks Richie,,! That kicked ass, and made me want to see JP AGAIN
percussions are incredible
I love how he is not the typical shredder that you always get nowadays. This guy is the real deal! You can hear that clear Dave Murray-influence in his tone, which makes him stand out compared to most guitarists off the younger generation. Ritchie Faulkner will eb very important for the metal scene in the years to come, and I can't wait to see what he's gonna do once Priest hangs up the ribbon :)
FREAKIN AWESOME DUDE!!!!... DAAAMMM!!!!
beast
'Old school' approach! AWESOME! Speed, style, and melodic!
These EMG vids of Faulkner are totally killer
Some of the best vibrato ever, love his style. AND he doesn't use cheap pinch harmonics over.
Wow !!!!!!!!!!!!
Fuking Awwwwsome !! Absolutely luv it !!
really tasty playing as always
You can really hear the Zakk Wylde influences like the major pentatonics and the minor scales in between it all and the Dave Murray string switching techniques pretty cool if you ask me :) good job falcon!!
Idk where the hell you're hearing major pentatonics, not to say there isn't a log of Zakk Wylde in his playing style
Magnificient, this is game over:)
This guy's tone is just so cool.
This tone is amazing, classy and hot at the same time
this guy is my main influencer for guitar player, he did inspire me
The best part is that this track is throughout amazing. Epic
Tear it up Ritchie !!!
that was some sublime playing
Great work!!!
beautifull guitra.... Richie you are very great guitar player! soud fantastic
he plays so good you gotta make a ugly face.
megaman exe 🤨🤟🏼
One The Best Modern Guitarist’s And A Great Choice For Judas Priest Ritchie Faulkner Is Badass 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
amazing respect brother lots of inspiration
brutal savage licks sending me dimensions and portals to the next
this is the reason why I’m going back to take my guitar lesson, after I’m left for almost many years
this guy is absolutely amazing player!
This guy.... I mean, please... just wow!!
holy shit a new vid....fuck yes love richie faulkner, more of this please chaps ;)
my face just melted!
I love his guitars!! He pretty much made the Les Paul metal again for the 2010's!
JUST AMAZING!!!
this man is amazing
The Living Randy Rhoads :)
Awesome @Richie Faulkner
Increasing the volume improved my relationship with my neighbour ... This guy, only few years ago, was selling sausages in a stand in Sweden. Imagine what it must have tasted now ....
Great jam Richie .
Pure greatness
I think it's pretty amazing that the band is older than this dude and he probably grew up listening to Priest
Fantastic!!!
Now I understood why this guy play whit Judas Priest.
I love JPs tandem guitar duo of Glen and Ken, but this guy is shot in the arm they needed to carry on.
Holy shit.. faulkner is the man!! Yes indeed.. i was sitting in a rollecoaster!!
Richie as I'm led to believe has Arabic connections having spent a number of years there as a child. It's patently obvious as you can hear the Arabic influences in his music, i really wanted to pull out my old Lotar and join in. The Arabic flavored solo took me back in time to a bath house in Turkey where men frolicked in the pools together. The smell of Arab incense., back hair in my mouth...and kebabs, unforgettable. Thanks Richie
Awesome use of the wah
Beautiful..
Pure awesomeness!!!!!!
Amazing !
