Luar Da Noite tornado of souls is considered one of the finest solos in all of Rock music, not just metal. We are all tired of listening to MoP tho. We’d prefer the less well known but better one
NGL, that FFDP solo sounds like that high school band with a guitarist who's been playing for about 18 months and insists on doing every solo with "feel" in comparison to some of the wizardry around it. Props for even trying Aviator, even Jason himself can barely play it
@Matthew Davies he did video with that solo, had one mistake but decided to leave it because he tried it alrrady so mamy times he was fed up with playing it xd I might be wrong here but i think it wasn't even 100% of speed
Jason Richardson's solo with Polyphia (Aviator) is just ridiculous at all levels, LoL -- I still think you could do it though! This was a blast, was stoked to see Carcass, etc. You had a lot of true metal stuff in here! AWESOME 😊🤘🏻
Man I absolutely LOVE that you didn’t only choose the most shreddin-est solos available for each selection. Obviously some of them were shreds (and were absolutely incredibly well executed). Instead of doing that and easily impressing all the little kids on RUclips that searched “guitar solos” (I used to be one of those kids that only cared about how many notes could be crammed into a solo lol). You instead also chose solos which demonstrate one’s ability to FEEL the music, and express the feeling in such a way that will invoke feeling in the listener as well.
bro, i just LOVED how u represented me with sepultura and angra. BUT, i thing that has solos that represent better those years, for example, die with your boots on (piece of mind, iron maiden 1983) would be a good choice
Wow i'm so happy you added This Godless Endeavor by Nevermore as that solo is one of my favorite and Jeff Loomis is such an amazing guitar player. Good Job!!
Planetary Duality is such a perfect album. Love to see Wintersun love too, honestly this video is incredible. I discovered 3-4 songs along the way, heard a bunch of shit I love. Your performance was so solid too. This is exactly what I subbed for.
Young Guitar Hero how is your positioning of your hand behind the neck? That definitely can hold back your reach. Then again hand size isn’t something we can adjust! Unless you wear some kind of extender on your fingers! 😁
Allstin If I have to play large streches I move the guitar into the classical position and put my thumb on the downer side of the neck. I can‘t do giant streches because: 1. Hy index finger is quite curved 2. I‘m 15 y o so my hands are still growing😅
My favorite era of metal is still the 80s and early 90s. It reached it's peak blend of innovation, technique, feeling, and creativity. Earlier eras the sound wasn't developed enough, later eras seem to emphasize technique more at the expense of feeling, and didn't even really improve especially on techniques pioneered and mastered in the 80s. My opinion! Great video! You are obviously an exceptional guitarist!
For later era, I think it's not limit to metal, but any musics and singers nowadays are heavily rely on techniques than feeling and "art". It's like the era of _show up_ like: "Look!! I can do this and yeah... this is awesome!" instead of "Let me entertain you with what I got, I hope you can enjoy by listening to this." For example, in singing todays, it's full of scream and high pitched falsetto than what is simply melodious tone and singing voice.
@@FauZhee I agree with you. It's a little more about showing off how you can perform difficult techniques, rather than using them artfully. Example: I will see videos of guitar shredders now showing off how fast they can play and how they can sweep for days flawlessly. Yet a guitarist like Marty Friedman would use his skills when he needed. He could shred and blaze fast, but he could also play a simple phrase that just hit all the right notes. It was more about the performance as whole than just showing off. That being said, there is a LOT of ridiculous talent out there today. Thanks to youtube we can find a lot more great artists, like the guitarist who created this video. So there's that as well.
You'd be surprised how the quality of Japan's metal & rock scene is far better than the rest of the world for the past 2 decades I've got to say this, western biased metal heads (not all, but most) haven't heard the best if they didn't listen properly to what japan has produced for the past 2 decades
@@mikepshena I can't sweep, hate the sound of it, and don't wanna learn it. It makes you sound like you don't know how to play guitar, unless its done right then it makes you sound awesome (the last solo in sudden death by megadeth) and is the only time I've heard it used in a really cool way. Everyone else sounds generic and robotic.
The solos more difficult I think Is from Jason Becker of Cacophony so impressive and also Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple I think he start it all playing that fast nobody play guitar that fast in the late of 60's o early 70's till Van Halen came out in '78

Its ilegal not to have tornado of souls here
FINALLY I was waiting for some periphery to show up in one of your videos
And you play the solo from my favorite periphery song
I CAN DIE HAPPILY!!!
What a band, Periphery is just amazing
You deserve more follower dude
And the Winner - Carcass - This Mortal Coil, (solo).
The solo to Battery really stands out hearing them all together like that
Is one of Kirk´s must underrated solos tbh
Yeah man, old Metallica was SO good
@@Shaun32887 they still are
@@sh4rpys Disagree, but to each their own
@@Shaun32887 idk man, but stuff like Spit out the bone and Moth into flame are some really good stuff... Also All nightmare long, My apocalypse and Judas kiss are also real fucking good.. But as you said each their own
So happy to see Cacophony make the list, Jason still is the master of sweeps
3:46 Angra!!🇧🇷
Anyone else get mad when he missed tornado of souls for 1990
It's because he can only play it backwards
And he didn't play the Master of Puppets solo either
Not really. His video, his choice.
Thousand percent true
Luar Da Noite tornado of souls is considered one of the finest solos in all of Rock music, not just metal. We are all tired of listening to MoP tho. We’d prefer the less well known but better one
I really love the sleep from Pantera. The whole song but especially the solo. Totally forgotten tune by them!
NGL, that FFDP solo sounds like that high school band with a guitarist who's been playing for about 18 months and insists on doing every solo with "feel" in comparison to some of the wizardry around it. Props for even trying Aviator, even Jason himself can barely play it
@@BradleyHallGuitar respect
@Matthew Davies he did video with that solo, had one mistake but decided to leave it because he tried it alrrady so mamy times he was fed up with playing it xd I might be wrong here but i think it wasn't even 100% of speed
Bleeding has good intro solo. FFDP changed now but they got some good songs though
@@BradleyHallGuitar FFDP is just whining imo
Can attest to Jason, have seen him nail it live....
The Symphony X solo actually dates from 1749 so isn't from the last 50 years, but other than that a very enjoyable video to watch.
I wish he'd played the actual solo of the song and not the instrumental part before it
The days when a bass guitarist still mattered 💗
what?
I know you've done tornado of souls backwards and forwards, but to not include it on this list for the fourteenth time us utterly disrespectful!
BUT, i thing that has solos that represent better those years, for example, die with your boots on (piece of mind, iron maiden 1983) would be a good choice
all them all , but Cacophony one it is the BEST ! metal greetings master!
JASON AND MARTY🤘🎸🔥
A very nice surprise to see cacophony on here!
@@michaelcarver3168 and Angra
This made me actually check out Trivium, I didn't know about their old stuff till this
Ember to inferno through Shogun is all fire. Add the single 'the storm' in there too
LIKE LIGHT TO FLYYYY-EYYYEESSSSSS
Already liked because of the thumbnail.
SEPULTURA FROM BRASIL!!!!!!
Edit: And there is Angra too...
Amazing band aswell.
Thank you Jimmy, very cool. You have greats solos also.
I love that you put Testament's over the wall on this. Thats such a win.
Love your selection. It indicates you have a great music knowledge. And obviously you have some serious skills. Good job
Conclusion: all of them are awesome (but the one by Cacophony is my favorite, though)
I've been waiting for a solo of Jerry Cantrell or Tom Morello, but you're a badass with the guitar, awesome video dude.
Nah, Bradley didn’t put Phantom of The Opera for 1980! That’s a crime!💀
Extraordinary! 🤟🏼
Domenico Bini missing for 2019
Selkies: The Endless Obsession solo piece would fit well in our modern riffagings
Selkies = Best guitar solo. Fight me.
2:15 yooooo that sweep !
After all these years, sweeping arpeggios are still forbidden territory for me lol
That whole middle section of Highway Star is boss music.
Wow i'm so happy you added This Godless Endeavor by Nevermore as that solo is one of my favorite and Jeff Loomis is such an amazing guitar player. Good Job!!
You're such an underrated guitarist ! You deserve so much more ! Such a guitar maestro ! \,,,/
Your sweep picking and arpeggios are flawless ! One random solo that I think is amazing is Avenged Sevenfold's Mia's
From the start I was thinking "Is he going to play Jason Richardson's Aviator solo"?
Was not disappointed.
Just a word for the sock on the neck !
Whoa you included some vektor there too! Insanely good modern thrash. Would be awesome to see you cover one of their songs
Planetary Duality is such a perfect album. Love to see Wintersun love too, honestly this video is incredible. I discovered 3-4 songs along the way, heard a bunch of shit I love. Your performance was so solid too. This is exactly what I subbed for.

Got me head bangin' on the Toilet.
Well, it got all my toilet headbangin'...
How do you headbang to a solo?
Same here man
Taking a shit right now.
Toilet team checking in
No cannibal corpse, nile, black dahlia or blotted science, damn shame my good man. Props to sails of charon though, what a banger.
8:24 that strech🤯 my small hands hurt watchong this
Young Guitar Hero how is your positioning of your hand behind the neck? That definitely can hold back your reach.
Then again hand size isn’t something we can adjust!
Unless you wear some kind of extender on your fingers! 😁
Allstin If I have to play large streches I move the guitar into the classical position and put my thumb on the downer side of the neck. I can‘t do giant streches because: 1. Hy index finger is quite curved 2. I‘m 15 y o so my hands are still growing😅
7:55 one of my favorite metal solos
That deep purple hit the spot! 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻😎 and you’re a very badass guitarist too, you deserve much more credit that this man, rock on!
7:15 honestly, same
My favorite era of metal is still the 80s and early 90s.
So there's that as well.
ok boomer
You'd be surprised how the quality of Japan's metal & rock scene is far better than the rest of the world for the past 2 decades
I've got to say this, western biased metal heads (not all, but most) haven't heard the best if they didn't listen properly to what japan has produced for the past 2 decades
I'm not always fan of sweeping, but I like your skills.
Stéphane Weiss, you heretic!
@@aidanbouw5224 yeah, sweeping often sounds like heresy.
you not a fan of a technique? Cant sweep I bet huh
@@mikepshena I often hear people souding weird when they sweep, so I prefer when they don't. But with him, that sounds pretty nice.
No Crazy Train? ☹
I love that the rhythm riff behind the solo for The Faceless' Planetary Duality is more complex than the solo itself.
3:16 Carcass 🤘🏽
Damn right you have some Schuldiner shreds in that timeline.
i like where you took the easiest and least interesting part of a rings of saturn song
Bradley playing battery:
Alright, final part of the solo is here, imma do some random taping.
The solos more difficult I think Is from Jason Becker of Cacophony so impressive and also Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple I think he start it all playing that fast nobody play guitar that fast in the late of 60's o early 70's till Van Halen came out in '78
