I can guarantee he plays it better than any of the though.
I mean jimi Hendrix used the minor pentatonic scale a lot. And I dont think anyone would refer to Jimi's playing as boring. Also dont think I've ever heard anyone call any scale ever boring let alone the pentatonic. Minor pentatonic is like the most versatile scale in the world haha. Literally used in every single genre.

just got a friend into ozzy that only listens to rap. he went to a concert and when he came back he said "man there was this biker guy with a swirl guitar that was just awesome. i need to find out who that was." i said "dude you just saw zakk wylde." it was just funny that even someone who doesnt know anything about ozzy or sabbath or black label still notices the awesomeness.

His left hand does a lot of his muting of the other strings, it's kind of amazing how little his left moves considering the work it's doing. Zakk is the man

That's what I love about his playing. You hear the goddamn pick hitting the string.
Whether you love or hate the style, there is no denying Zakk plays with extreme passion and impressive skill. He is literally playing the guitar with his entire body. If more musicians injected this amount of body language into their playing, we'd be enjoying an incredible golden age as fans.
The guy can either shred or play soulful and bluesy which makes him elite . LEGEND

Zakk has been one of my biggest influences. To me he’s one of the greatest of all time. He plays the F’ outta the guitar but still maintains a sense of soul to his playing even when he’s playing pentatonic’s at lightning speed. That’s not easy to do.

I went to high school in Los Angeles with someone whos family was friends with Zach Wylde and his family. Said he is the nicest human being on earth.
The comments on this are great! I saw BLS a few years ago and they were every bit as good as you'd expect. I was really impressed how he walked into the middle of the crowd at the back of the venue and proceeded to improv-shred for about 10 minutes while everyone formed a circle around him and got a close up look of a barbarian warlord wearing a kilt.
He did this when I saw them at the Royal Albert Hall. Was amazing! I reached out and touched him

His improvisation shows that you dont need to be a very knowledgeable (theory based) musician but be a musician from the heart....its then you create something as beautiful as this...

@@jdogghoe not to mention he's in key the entire song lol apparently he makes it look that easy, but people are here in these comments saying things like, 'there might as well be no background track, this is just a random shred session.' they obviously have a tenuous grasp, it that, on music theory themselves.
Heres the thing. He's pentatonic all the way. Yet, it doesn't sound like he's just running scales. That's where music theory comes into play. The backing track was icing on the cake. It was necessary for the experience.
His Time with Ozzy was awesome made some great music with Ozzy and created some great solos.
