Good job with the video man. Probably one of the best RUclips videos I've seen because you didn't start rambling on about your ol lady or something stupid. You stuck to the job at hand and got it done. Thanks again
Thanks for this... helped a lot, especially learning that we need to save that green gasket. It would've helped to know that to unplug the electrical, you not only need to pull the red tab out, but also need to press down on the black lever inline and and on the back of the plug. Appreciate the lesson, thx.
Nice video. Very clear and well explained. I have an 04 dodge ram 5.7 and I have the P0456 it shows up as gas cap leak but after seeing this video I'm replacing this also. Thanks
I'm glad i could help. i also had a buddy with the same truck and same code problem. He replaced his and the code wouldn't reset even after doing a hard reset the code came back on. One day , months later, He happened to leave the truck running while he filled his tank. He then drove around with the fuel cap still off before he noticed it. Somehow it reset itself and hasn't been back on. Good luck!
Hello I wanted to ask if the bad operation of this can casuare the defect of difficult starting . Moreover, its positioning should be no play or into the housing can have a reading game? The error code that gives me is P455 . hello Sergio
Hey I have a 2005 dodge Dakota SLT 4 door 4.7 magnum would you be able to tell me the location of this part because I just cant find it is it in the front of the truck or all the way in the back of the truck?
Im not the OP but, on my ram, besides the check engine light. I had no symptoms. Engine ran smooth and drove great. I drove like this for 2 years, until I moved to a place that has emissions testing. only then, did I I replaced it @ 122K miles. That was 6 years ago I have had no problems or repercussions. I now have 370K miles and still loving my Ram. I have an 2003 1500 quad cab 4.7

betancourtguerrero Try to remove the vent hose and squirt wd40 or carb cleaner in the hose and use low pressure air to cycle the vent a couple of times. Hopefully this works. Please let me know if it does.

Just with parts cleaner or carb ckener it wirks excelent. My 2005 didge ramm 1500 crew cab 4.7Lts. has 220.000 miles now and i bough it with 125.000. Just clean this part engine light went off.. Cheap. $8 bucks can. 15 minust clean install/uninstall. Also keep in mind it can be a egr valve. But start with this ine. Hey Dezz. I did a lot of research online and 90% of what I read told me that's what I needed to replace. I did work for me and it hasn't come back on since. Good luck
Hey luis was wondering, i changed it out and the light stayed off for four days came back on. The little green seal did you put a new one on yours or the old one
05 dodge ram 1500, i change leak drtection pump, cam shaft censor, crank shaft sencor, fuel pump, spark plugs and my ram still keeps bucking and losing power when pushing gas pedal after 20 30 mph. Anybody have any advice. Thanks
Diecast collector 303 I have an 03 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7, that is getting about 5mpg, I’ve changed all that you have, my truck has what I call “narcolepsy”, it’s slow to accelerate, but if I try to accelerate after 50mph (to pass someone or speed up quickly), it just dies with no notice. There’s no noise, no jerking, it just shuts off. After replacing last thing the code said (crankshaft sensor), now I’ve got codes p0456 & p0440. And my journey continues. If you’ve had any luck with yours, please let me know. Thanks!

Mark, I didn't really have any symptoms other than the engine codes. I did my research and the consensus as that the Vapor detector needed to be replaced. I first checked all my hoses to make sure there weren't any issues there. It was a relatively cheap fix so I changed it and the codes went away. I hope this helps.
Im not sure if this will cause stalling. I have read that dodges of this generation have an issue stalling at when youre driving low speeds especially when making a tight turn at low speeds. Something to do with the fuel line night being long enough.
luis juarbe Thank you for the response. I had the LDP pump and gasket changed and it runs amazing! No stalling at all and it has more pep! I had the P0455 code and P0457 codes.
I think for that year, you'd have to replace the leak detection pump. It's somewhat similar and in the similar area. Check the gas cap to make sure you're getting a good seal. Good luck!!
I know this is an old question but I'll answer for anyone else who might wander into this thread. Mine is also an 05 Dakota and my research tells me it is above the gas tank and can be accessed from the drivers rear wheel well by removing the wheel well plastic from in front of the rear drivers side tire. FULL DISCLOSURE, I haven't verified this yet as I am not exploring my Dakota until the morrow. So good luck, May God bless you, may His Eternal light shine upon you, may you find goodness all the days of your life and find peace as you shuffle off this mortal coil.
what does it mean if after i disconnected the battery and changed the part then tried connecting the battery back and it just honked. it starts and everything but just kept honking while having the battery connected . Any help would be appreciated.
luis juarbe yes it was good it had a regular horn and a security horn disconnected the security horn and it stopped but i dont know if thats bad for the truck
Hey I changed mine after watching this video and the light came back on. Checked all hoses and even changed the gas cap and little valve in the front by the bumper no luck. Anybody have any other ideas?
There shouldn't be any issues with this specific procedure. It's good practice to get used to disconnecting the battery whenever your working on anything that is electrical.
@@lujavjuarbe thanks alot... I changed the valve leak detector today...but I just wanna change the hose IDK how to because it has that metal cylinder going across it...
Trooper mechanics don't make the parts. we just change the parts other people are too lazy or lack the knowledge of how to do the job and do it right the first time themselves. many times having to correct a problem made worse by some car owner attempting the repair themselves and getting in over their heads. that's when it costs you more to fix the owners mess ups plus the original repair. I got the code P0498 and it’s telling me it’s this part. Any recommendations?
hi, does that part have any kind of negative effect on vehicle performance?
Luis, any knowledge on EGR valve replacement for the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7L?
thanks bro good video man
So these guys aren't built with a filter like some other kinds?
What if we clean it with carb or brake cleaner. Electric cleaner. ?
Would it work ??
Normaly it works
That may work, but for a low cost Id rather do the work once. :)
did u blow on the valve pipe to see if it normaly closed?
Thanks for the vid man!!!
Can you send me the link to the website? I can’t seem to find the part.

P0455 usually means a large leak, check all the tubing and hoses in the EVAP system.
