Love my Nox as recommended 3 years ago by everyone in the NYC crew and their honest reviews. Still going strong. Love it. Lot of new detectors on the market since then but you can trust Mr. Tones. Straight up no BS reviews.
I have the Nox900 and the AT Pro. True statement that the Pro sucks on salt water beaches... that's why I got the Nox900. However, with an aftermarket NEL Tornado coil, the Pro can match the depth of the Nox. In the end, choose what detector works for you depending on your soil conditions. If you need help choosing a detector, this community is always willing to help (although some personal bias might interfere with being totally objective). Great video, Lou.
Hope some newbs watch this so much functionality available for low price even new. I started 30 years ago and spent 350 on a whites single frequency it beeps u dig machine. For true waterproof was 1000$ and up pulse or excal. With some honest reviews todays newbies can get great tech to start with. Great video IT.
I've been metal detecting since 1971 and seen a lot of changes in the industry. What never changes are these snake oil sales pitches. I like what you said when you said you should go to folks that are true metal detectorists and are out in the field testing and reviewing these machines. Thanks for a great video and I hope it helps new detectorist buy the right machine for their needs.
Started with the Ace 250 for about 2 weeks then bought the Simplex & it was 5X better than the Ace then I got the Legend & absolutely love it. I’m thinking my next would be the Deus 2 or maybe the Nox 700 or 900.
Ya, the amazon affiliate link has destroyed the idea of online reviews. I've had my AT Pro and AT Max underwater at lakes countless times, never a concern. Paid for themselves many times over. But it's pointless taking them near salt water, and they aren't price competitive anymore to buy new, can get better now for less. The Ace Apex is great in the wet at a salt water beach, happy to have it - but the target separation makes it painful to use in other places. Before spring, I'm going to sell my AT Pro and Ace Apex, pool in the clad I've collected over the past couple years so that it doesn't really cost me anything and will probably buy a Manticore. Save the AT Max as a backup. (unless I hear that people are having flooding problems with the manticore.)
One of the “famous Hoover boys” replied one time when I asked him why he was still using a AT pro that all detectors will signal when they go over a target lol then he used a 800 now a Legend lol
I started with the cheapo Bounty Hunter years ago. It was fun and I did ok but it goes nuts near salt water. For years now I've enjoyed my Nox 800. It's so light & easy to learn. My warranty issues have been broken coil ears & a split charger cord (also several swap outs of the headphones, they're lousy). The warranty people at Minelab are so easy to work with, just send it in & in less than 10 days it's back to me. I love it & plan to buy another & retire the one I have in April when the warranty is up to keep as a backup. I don't submerge my Nox based on what I hear from others who do & flood their machines. This was a good video, will hit that subscribe button!
False advertising sells to ones who do not take time to research what they are buying. My first metal detector was the Tracker 4 and I found a lot of great stuff.. I then went to a Ace250 thinking it would work on the beach because it is advertised as a great beach detector, Boy was a disappointed. Went back to the TK4. I learned it is best to take the time and research the Metal Detector that you would like to swing. I own 12 metal detectors now. Why? Cause I fell into the false advertising .before I did my own researching.. Great info Buddy .. Peace
Hello from Fryslan/the Netherlands, i've been following Merrill for years, now also this channel, i'm a detectorist for almost 30 years, when i'm approached by people i give non-biased info, it's about what they want, what they expect, and what's affordable to them. I tell them that i only payed for my first two detectors, later on the finds did😊. I mention that you need to dig a tremendous amount of trash to get there. I tell that i still own most of my detectors, upgrading when possible or because of new/ better tricks. They always ask how much gold i have found, my answer is always the same: "how much have you lost?" . Most important i tell them how much fun this hobby/addiction is, how healthy it is to be in the open, how much fun your first find can be, how relaxing (i have a terrible tinnitus), but most of all the fun part, i think this can not be mentioned enough. A final question: will you be rating the Nexus Merrill bought lately, i'd be very interested in the fine tuning this machine offers. So, greetings from Fryslan, Doede van Kammen .
I started out as a new detectorist 3 years ago. I’m on disability so my main issue was price. I didn’t have money but I had time to scour marketplace for deals. There are always deals on Bounty Hunters because people buy them, don’t have patience to detect and dump them. My first detector was a Bounty Hunter Tracker Pro. I think it’s a TK-4 guts with a digital display and the ability to be a bit more selective. I paid $35 like new condition. Unfortunately it acts erratically. Fortunately my background is in electronics and I found the issue was a loose ribbon cable inside. Fixed it and got my start there. I quickly needed a Pinpointer and went with a cheap Garrett Clone. No it’s not a Garrett Carrott but it got me started. I raided the garden shed for shovels and used an old hip bag for finds. I then found a truly like new Bounty Hunter TK-4 in the box with headphones for $40. I watched videos from a BH Rep and learned to use it. Personally if you’re not beach detecting I think it’s the greatest entry level if you buy it used or on deep sale. It made me learn tones and I found enough to keep me wanting more. My next move was I found a used, like new in the box with headphones Garrett ACE 400 from a dealer for $168 delivered. This gave me ID numbers and better options to notch out items. I found my first General Services Button on my own land that I missed before. I wasn’t ready to buy anything else but I fell into a like new but used Nokta Makro Simplex + in the box, all paperwork and another knock off Pinpointer. This has been my goto with the ACE 400 as my backup or to loan to a friend to detect with me. I also occasionally still use the TK-4 since it’s so darn simple. I forgot along the line I bought a Discoverer -1000 which is the Radio Shack labeled BH TK-4. I bought it in good working condition for $15. A Mom bought it for her kid and he quickly lost interest. I traded my original Bounty Hunter Tracker Pro towards a GoPro Black 7 so I can record my detecting. Right now I’m considering selling the Ace 400 and maybe 1-2 Bounty Hunters or the Simplex and upgrade to a double or triple score or a used Legend so I detect on the couple of times I get to the beach. I do get to my local fresh water beach and the Simplex works fine there. I’ll continue to follow your channel. Thanks for revealing these videos that don’t know what they talk about and are only in it for affiliate links. Dave in PA.
It's a great starter machine, or a low budget machine, if I was just getting into metal detecting today, I would get the simplex lite, I started with simplex plus and it was a great machine, but you had to buy the small coil separate, the lite is great because it comes stock with the small coil and you need to get the large coil separate, and the small coil is better for a lot of applications The lite is NOT going to be too good at the salt water beach, in that case consider a legend/score/equinox/vanquish, something that is, or can use multi frequency
Hi i a beginner to detecting and the detector i have is a AT pro and i used it on the beach and it was ok on the dry but when it went to the wet it churped like a bird so i looked on RUclips and saw Merrill's video's and sent him a message about the at pro and he explained why and what was happening, he then advised me to look for something more modern as the at pro is old tech , so i looked various machines and spoke to other detectorist and the im seriously thinking about is the nokta legend and after watching Merrill's video's on the legend they just steer me towards it but it is a bit pricey. My question is , would you agree with it as a good choice?
Love your channel and I agree with everything you have said been detecting for over ten years with a range of machines, think you just have to find a machine that suits you and your land and remember all these companies lie….they want your money, one of my best machines is a thirty year old ex-Army second hand (Vallon) machine with no discrimination, heavy and green….it beeps and you dig the hole, it suits me on every dig and have found so many Roman coins and artefacts…. Look forward to your next video Roy from the UK
I've been wanting to do this for a very long time. I live in San Diego, want to use in and out of the water, and perhaps in the deserts in Nevada and Arizona. I'm interested in finding gold, but looking on separating the undesirables, and just hone in on the gold. What are the best bet for the money on a budget?
Probably the Minelab Goldmonster if your'e looking at new. A lot of older detectors still prove themselves. Maybe look at buying a good second hand machine and get some training! I can not stress how important training is. Another option or three is (a) hire a detector (b) join a club or (c) team up with some one who knows a little bit avout what you want to achieve.
Hey Lou, just had a question for you. You have much more experience than I do so I thought you might be able to answer my question. I started out with the bounty Hunter TK4. Immediately upgraded to the vanquish 440. I hunt trashy parks 95%of the time so not being water proof is not a problem. However do you feel that the new Nokta DS separates that much better that it would be worth upgrading to. Thank you for your time😎
Im really interested in getting a detector, total beginner, gonna be living in walking distance from the beach. Myrtle beach SC, to be exact. So a good pick would be a nockta score?
Appreciate the advice... Plenty of B.S. in the industry sales. Yes, small business employs more Americans than any other type of business. Supporting the small business guy is great for the hobby and country. Thanks for informing us on these sham artists.
Hahaha, this was a great video! My face matched your face when he said Bounty Hunter. And for the Nox, I've never tried one out but I had no idea they were taking in water like that. :O
Truer words we never spoken, thanks for taking the Detecting Baton from Merrill and keeping I RATE METAL DETECTORS alive well and independent. Great job Lou. I bought the nox 800 for me and the Garrett Max for my daughter,(loves Nugget Noggin) and we went to the beach, ...she could not detect, it just rang up on everything, had to turn the sensitivity down to lowest and notch out the low numbers, so it basically was a real handicapped detector in the wet sand, the Nox had no problems at all and could run full power.
Tracker 4 x 4 yrs. Kind if sucjs/only like 80 bucks. Looking to get better...like around 200 bucks? Seems like such an easy topic/machine. it's a metal detector that should be able to distinguish between pot metal all the way up to gold very easily and go down like 10 inches. what's the best?? Now that i'm older comma money's fine. Curious about metal detectors more. Just starting to research. Just picked up panky 0074?.. Hundred bucks from two hundred. Impulse by on sale... Might return.
Great reaction to this. I wish these RUclipsrs wouldn’t make videos like that to deceive people into buying a less-desirable detector when there is much better detectors for their money. Great video.
I was a Garrett man 30 years. they have fell way behind. I rather have a F-75 Than any Garrett, but the boys overseas have put us in the shade Best Manticore / 900 / Legend Price: X-Terra / Score and love my Simplex Ultra Even a F-44 cost more than a X-Terra can you believe that? Well thanks Good Job
A bit off topic. I'm relatively new to MD have brought the Nox 900 as recommended by a local MD. My issue is what length to adjust the shaft for me I'm 5.5 ft. I think I've got it too long. How far from your feet should I adjust too.. Tia
The optimal height for your metal detector shaft depends on your personal comfort and the specific model of metal detector you are using. However, there are some general guidelines you can follow to determine the appropriate height: Adjust the shaft height so that you can comfortably grip the handle without having to bend over or stretch too much. This ensures that you can use the metal detector for an extended period without causing strain or discomfort. Your elbow should be at a slight angle when holding the detector. This angle allows for better control and maneuverability. Adjust the shaft height to achieve a comfortable elbow angle while maintaining a relaxed grip on the handle. The coil of the metal detector should be close enough to the ground for effective scanning. However, it shouldn't be so low that it constantly hits the ground or obstacles, as this can affect the detector's performance and cause unnecessary wear. Consider your own height when adjusting the shaft. Taller individuals may need to extend the shaft to maintain a comfortable operating position, while shorter individuals may need to shorten it. Check the user manual or guidelines provided by the manufacturer of your metal detector. Manufacturers often include recommendations on how to properly adjust the shaft for optimal performance. If you frequently detect in rough or uneven terrain, you may need to adjust the shaft height based on the specific conditions to maintain balance and stability. Experiment with different shaft heights to find the setting that works best for you. Take your metal detector to a test area and make adjustments until you find a comfortable and effective operating position. Remember that personal comfort is key, and there is no one-size-fits-all answer. It's a good idea to spend some time adjusting the shaft height and testing different settings to find what works best for your individual preferences and detecting style. Note: NEVER lean on your detector or use it to help you get up. It will break.
Thanks for the Great Info!! You saved me a lot of time researching. Just looking for something down at the beach that can take salt water. Best Wishes to you!
Just found your channel. Would you happen to have a video of what your favorite metal detectors are for different terrains and budgets? I mainly want to do beach searches but as you have said in the video, finding reliable information on YT isn't easy
I had to skip through 6 narrated video on metal detectors before I found your video. Listening to those narrated videos, you might as well go ask a Walmart employee in the shoe department for the best metal detectors. I'm still using my White's Eagle II that I bought brand new back in my late 20s. It's great, but heavy. Time to get something that can handle wet beach sand and lighter.
GREAT VIDEO I HAVE THE NOKTA LEGEND AND YOU NEVER SEE THESE IN THE TOP 5 DETECTORS BUT MINE HAS FOUND ME LOTS OF COIN AND JEWELRY IT IS A REALLY GREAT DETECTOR AND TY FOR THE INFO ON THAT GUY WHO DESCRIBES THOSE 5 DETECTORS YOU ARE SO FUNNY KEEP MAKING MORE YOU ARE AWSOME TY ....JOHN.
Hey there, I just came across this video I’ve been looking all day for good metal detectors and I can’t seem to find “the” one, I’m a beginner and I’m just wondering what you think would be the best one to get that’s not over 400$
I'm wanting to start sniping fresh water streams, challenging spots with snorkel mask drysuit Hood, flippers, weight belt. Also work shores and fields for Gold down to small .25 gram I guess if I had to describe the perfect metal detector it would be completely waterproof for some bottom searches, in the ability to work the shores and Fields with interchangeable batteries, ability to detect small gold, fast sweep, 2 feet down. I figure I probably need a fully waterproof wand style for diving down in for honing in I don't know if the new ones have some kind of side capabilities. Figure i would start with the main unit something quality. Any thoughts?
I will be buying a metal detector before our trip to Myrtle Beach. I just don’t know which one…I’m not looking cheap..my wife and kids say I’m over the top lol I pay for quality, and don’t mind paying for features I may not use for a while if at all…I just never want to “need it and not have it.” What would you suggest?
@@icecreamman1 my wife talked me out of it, luckily, because I didn’t have as much time as I thought. So, taking a little longer to decide since no huge rush.
My best advise comes from real detectorist in real conditions. Could you please help advise in pinpointers, I want one and not sure what to get. I detect fresh water beach and also ground and field. Thanks for posting advise and is greatly appreciated!
I pull over a dozen silver coins out of the ground almost each day i hunt with my Bounty Hunter. I do know how to use it and where to hunt. No number read out but the analog lever does the same. Affordable but high quality. Save your money and try one first. Sure people laugh how little it cost but at the end of the day show me what you found with your overpriced machine. but but but is all they can say.
I started with the bounty hunter pioneer 202 back in the year 2005....Choices were limited way back then, it was a great starter detector and i found many coins with it....however, its maximum depth was 4 inches on a good day at best. Fast forward to todays choices, the simplex lite will hit coins at 12 inches deep for the same price you pay for a bounty hunter....go simplex or equinox, but steer clear bounty hunter
Hello how are we today . I bought the 900 and love too do the beach but thinking this is not the best detector for the beach want something easy too use salt water waterproof .have bin looking at the double score but dont know .Can you give me your thoughts? And thank you
Want to know what the best is? Go to the beach and ask a few guys what they are using. They might not tell you so look at what they use. Even then it doesnt mean that is the best. I still use a machine from the 90s, company is out of business!
@@IndianaTones Originally 15 years ago it was the Whites Surfmaster PI pro. I have been buying parts off ebay to replace what I can to keep it running. So it is a Whites PI Frankenstein right now but it works!
I can see you showing up at a crime scene. Who are you? Me, I'm a detectorist. Great video. I can tell you know your stuff because you have so many detectors...good stuff!
I'm one of the beginners, i have been asking around for a good fair priced M/D . I will be using it in the fields & woods and once and a while the beach. The fellow that sent me to watch your youtube links gave me some info on a Equinox 600. I was going to start off a bit cheaper in case i do not stick with it, but then thought maybe buy 1 and done. Instead of jumping up every season. What are your thought on the 600 for what i am going to do with it ? And Thanks for any info
As a multi- line metal detector dealer and author, I listened to your video and agree with most of what you said including your take on Amazon and these Affiliate Click Bait BS from Non Hobbiest folks who don’t know Shit because of suspicious questionable experience in our hobby putting out these misleading videos. I also agree with your Mention of Gold Diggers Shop which on the Eastern Half of our Great Nation excels in Service and Knowledge where.most Amazon Dealers themselves never tou h a detector or their Inventory. Where I disagree with you is what you didn’t say when talking about the Whites Mx Sport or MXT. Yes, they are single frequency and yes, you have to reduce the sensitivity down to stabilize the Circuit which makes hearing coins in salt water wet sand difficult beyond 5 inches. Multi Frequency circuits will cancel out that salt water Falsing but they can miss deeper coins and rings beyond 10” in certain high mineralized dirt or wet salt beach sand! The American Tarsacci MDT 8000 a Single Selectable frequency detector actually detects 40 % deeper in 2024 because it operates on a PI / VLF Patented Circuit and to illustrate my point when comparing deep signals with My hunting partner Frank who uses The XP Deus II he was unable to hear and even ID these deep targets where it was a piece of cake for the MDT 8000. Frank has 40 plus years of experience Being taught as my customer as well as ALan Woods, Jimmy Sierra and a Reader of Andy Sabisch Books as well as an Engineer with HP and others during his career. So why has the Tarsacci MDT 8000 not been evaluated as much, and why does Ron from Gold Diggers not carry it? Well the Company based in Merced, Ca FairTrades his product and the Dealer Discount is 1/2 of normal discounts If you want to discuss Tarsacci further or have any questions for me. I will invite you to call me at Trans Bay. 650-574-2012. Just ask for Greg Moscini 😀👮♂️
I purchased the Minelab Gold Monster 1000 2 years ago. I don't think its shaft is adjustable. That's what I hate about it the most! I have a Minelab Eureka Gold and also an older Minelab Explorer SE. My next purchase has to be a PI detector. What would you suggest? I've heard the Minelab 2300 and 6000 are reputable machines. Thanks. Great Video!
Enjoyed your video. Lots of great info. So many "expert" videos out there touting the best detector to get a commission. I need some help. Never detected, would like to try it out. I have $250 to spend on a detector. Looking for a versatile detector to hunt coins, rings, and relics - but also be able to use it on the beach when we vacation. Not complicated to use but advanced enough that I can use it for 2+ years before I upgrade. Would you happen to have any suggestions? Thanks!
I live in canada and looking to start metal detecting ! I can get a minelab vanguish 440 on sale for 365.00 or the nokta score for 465.00 , i have no idea which detector to look for but after listening to your and others channels these two seem to be a good all round one to buy ?
Getting my first detector this year 2024 , My shortlist is xterra pro and nokta legend or vanquish Mostly for field work . but some beach Thoughts would be welcome 😎
The Nokta Legend is almost the same as the Minelab Equinox. So I would say it is better and more capable than those other 2. There is now the Nokta Double Score which I would say is competition for the Vanquish and fully submersible, rechargable better target seperation etc.
Get the legend it can not be beat for the money and you can hunt with the best of them some people have to have a Cadillac and pay more and some a ford one may have a few more buttons but they will take you to the same place been at it for 55 yrs. and can take a Legend and stay right with a 900 Nox at half price it is a no brainer KEEP ON DIGGIN
I laughed so hard when they said bounty hunter lol. My first detector was from the toy store when I was a kid, my second was a bounty hunter. Neither was worthy of top 5 status 😂
So what's the best detector for me ,looking for something beach water I'm in the south Louisiana and civil war sites old home sites but all around for these terrains ,a really good one
I’d like to get into it but this is brand new to me.. Id be looking for gold and silver in and very near saltwater here in Ft Lauderdale.. any pros out there that can point me in the right direction?
I am in Pompano Beach, and I have loved my Whites PI's for the beach - I think I have had 5 generations of them - down to three at the moment plus a homemade one - I also have a brand-new Dual-Field still in the box that was used once before the TDI Beach hunter came out - the Dual-Field can be chattery in the wet surf but the TDI requires a very strong scoop for the depth when using a 16.6v battery - there are a lot of different great detectors for our beach's -
I own a sea hunter it is a pulse detector great for salt water not much discrimination . Dig all detector

greaton beach and underwater the newest "all purpose multi frequency high speed low drag detectors including Garretts own GTX always compare themselves to the Sea Hunter
Hi Thank you for your honesty. My wife and I are thinking of buying a metal detector, what in your opinion is the best beginner/ professional metal detector and price?. Tnx
Deus 11 😮 I just got a deus 1, excited to test it out next spring, will probably be my new totlot machine where I don't want to go very deep, and I want to get under low equipment
or you find some one frustrated with a metal detector. i found a vanquish 340. on craigslist $60. then months later. the V12. coil off ebay. $89 plus shipping. i have the nox 700. and a gold monster.
The focus on your detector usage indicates you're nottalking about the best detectors- just the best budget adventure/beach detectors. I bought my gold monster specifically for gold- and its great for that, if I want a good beach detector, I'll get a low frequency detector that suits wet salty ground. Specific purposes is what people should be looking at, not so much vague general purpose otherwise theyll buy a detector that wont do any specific purpose that well.
My Bounty Hunter works great and was affordable. I am very impressed with it and have found many coins up to 10 inches deep. I tried a few other more expensive models friends own and they do not work any better. For sure Bounty Hunter is the best value metal detector brand i have found. One of the best purchases of my life. I use it often. Most metal dectors are extremely over priced. Most companies just want to make money and are not trying to make a affordable product the average low income dectorist can buy. I can probably find anything any other brand can find and maybe more. Everything i need.
@@IndianaTonesNo i use it in the rock free Louisiana soil mainly. Past and present home and store sites and farm land. I thought about buying something more expensive but it meets my needs. What can you buy for under $100 that is better? Paid for itself many times over. I found gold jewelry also. Mens high school ring sold for scrap for over $350. Many silver coins. Best value. Simple. Two 9 volts and earbuds with a adapter. Very sensitive. It is a matter of opinion sure a rechargeable battery would save from buying 9 volt batteries but it would need to be replaced in time. Maybe more work with a simple machine but still possible.
@@ssmith6735 nice job! When I hear “the best top 5” I laugh at some of those fake reviews but think about all conditions being included. Which model do you use. I may buy one to use and review. The point of the video was not to pick favorites but to point out this person is just aimlessly picking anyone to get sales. I don’t think this detector is good for the wet sand at the beach but he said it was. I was actually at a park with a crew of people and the kid we were with found a gold bracelet with the bounty hunter. We didn’t.
I want a metal detector to find copper, gold, silver in rocks. In and out of water. I do not dive and probably wont look in water more than 3 feet deep. What would be the best detector for my purpose? It would be fun to find coins on the beach also.
Nice video's Can you recommend for me. A metal detector that can look for everything and do about everything that is very user friendly.I am new. Budget 1500.
Indiana please help me, so I'm writing a list of things I want to buy, but I am just typing the best of the best, without putting in mind that I am new to metal detectors niche just say to me the best high end metal detector existing you consider no cost matter, I hope you answer me! greetings from Colombia

Dave in PA.
So is the nokta simplex lite a good choice?? Thanks
It's a great starter machine, or a low budget machine, if I was just getting into metal detecting today, I would get the simplex lite, I started with simplex plus and it was a great machine, but you had to buy the small coil separate, the lite is great because it comes stock with the small coil and you need to get the large coil separate, and the small coil is better for a lot of applications
The lite is NOT going to be too good at the salt water beach, in that case consider a legend/score/equinox/vanquish, something that is, or can use multi frequency
Either the simplex of Xterra Pro both good starters
I’m looking for a metal detector to find irrigation valves. Stainless steel screws in 24 V electric with copper wire. Can you help me?
How deep and where? On your property or the city?
Thank you so much for that comment. That is interesting. I’m going to look into that Vallon!
I’m just here to show my husband how nice and need those rectors are organized in the background, you have inspired me to inspire him 😂 @Indiana Tones
HaHA 😂
Thank you for your time😎
I need more time to make that analysis but on the beach I can confidently say the DS is better. Parks and fields not sure yet.
Great job!
Thank you Merrill!
My first (just bought) is a Legend. $500… I live in mountains, so 60% mountains, 20% beach, 20% desert… I’ll find out if it works for me
Happy Hunting!
Great video man. We need a lot more honesty on reviews. Thank you.
Hello sir, I was wondering if you can guide me, what is a great gold detector
Hi, I've just seen your video on RUclips. Would you say the minelab 900 is a good buy? Thank you for your help.
I am a fan of the minelab equinox.
What's a good detector for property pins when surveying a vacant land? Any suggestions?
Truer words we never spoken, thanks for taking the Detecting Baton from Merrill and keeping I RATE METAL DETECTORS alive well and independent. Great job Lou. I bought the nox 800 for me and the Garrett Max for my daughter,(loves Nugget Noggin) and we went to the beach, ...she could not detect, it just rang up on everything, had to turn the sensitivity down to lowest and notch out the low numbers, so it basically was a real handicapped detector in the wet sand, the Nox had no problems at all and could run full power.
Thank you! Max is still a great one in the field and parks.
Good starter machines are either the Nokta Simplex of the Minelab Xterra Pro for the price and newer technology. thegolddigger.com/?ref=yGNF_u-2ZwDRG
Great reaction to this. I wish these RUclipsrs wouldn’t make videos like that to deceive people into buying a less-desirable detector when there is much better detectors for their money.
Great video.
Thank you.
I was a Garrett man 30 years. they have fell way behind.
I rather have a F-75 Than any Garrett, but the boys overseas have put us in the shade
Best Manticore / 900 / Legend Price: X-Terra / Score and love my Simplex Ultra
Even a F-44 cost more than a X-Terra can you believe that?
Well thanks Good Job
I have the legend ,deus xp,and the quest 30....all 3.are.good.but my legend is my favorite
However, there are some general guidelines you can follow to determine the appropriate height:
Adjust the shaft height so that you can comfortably grip the handle without having to bend over or stretch too much.
What would you recommend for old farm land//dairy cow pasture and salt and fresh water? Looking for one machine that'll do both.
Thanks for the Great Info!! You saved me a lot of time researching. Just looking for something down at the beach that can take salt water. Best Wishes to you!
What do you recommend for a beginner who is on a lake
Great video. Can you recommend a good mid to hi level metal detector for both land and water?
Thank you
Just found your channel.
I have zero issues in salt water and wet sand. However I have used this detector for probably 10 years . So I have a few tricks to setting my machine
which detector?
GREAT VIDEO I HAVE THE NOKTA LEGEND AND YOU NEVER SEE THESE IN THE TOP 5 DETECTORS BUT MINE HAS FOUND ME LOTS OF COIN AND JEWELRY IT IS A REALLY GREAT DETECTOR AND TY FOR THE INFO ON THAT GUY WHO DESCRIBES THOSE 5 DETECTORS YOU ARE SO FUNNY KEEP MAKING MORE YOU ARE AWSOME TY ....JOHN.
Thank you john!
Also work shores and fields for Gold down to small .25 gram
I guess if I had to describe the perfect metal detector it would be completely waterproof for some bottom searches, in the ability to work the shores and Fields with interchangeable batteries, ability to detect small gold, fast sweep, 2 feet down.
I figure I probably need a fully waterproof wand style for diving down in for honing in I don't know if the new ones have some kind of side capabilities.
Figure i would start with the main unit something quality.
Any thoughts?
I will be buying a metal detector before our trip to Myrtle Beach. I just don’t know which one…I’m not looking cheap..my wife and kids say I’m over the top lol
I pay for quality, and don’t mind paying for features I may not use for a while if at all…I just never want to “need it and not have it.”
What would you suggest?
What did you end up buying and how did you make out. I’m currently in MB and looking to buy a detector to use while I’m here.
I will soon. I currently use the Garrett Pro Pointer. Just received the accupoint will compare soon.
Great job review I almost spit out my coffee when the Bounty Hunter came up😂. Terrific job Lou👍
Thank you Team Lynch!
BS. You didn't spit out your coffee.
@@james1795 I said almost and that is true😁
I started with the bounty hunter pioneer 202 back in the year 2005....Choices were limited way back then, it was a great starter detector and i found many coins with it....however, its maximum depth was 4 inches on a good day at best. Fast forward to todays choices, the simplex lite will hit coins at 12 inches deep for the same price you pay for a bounty hunter....go simplex or equinox, but steer clear bounty hunter
Thanks for sharing! Exactly what I’m talking about
Great reaction video Lou.
Grad you enjoyed it Ant!
🤣dude! you are AWESOME! Great information! PEOPLE, this is what being Authentic & Honest looks like! Thank you sir!
Thank you for tuning in more to come in a day
Hello how are we today . I bought the 900 and love too do the beach but thinking this is not the best detector for the beach want something easy too use salt water waterproof .have bin looking at the double score but dont know .Can you give me your thoughts? And thank you
The 900 is better than the double score
Good vid Lou! 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you
Starting out in FL. I’d like to get something for farm parks and beach areas. What are your suggestions?
Want to know what the best is? Go to the beach and ask a few guys what they are using. They might not tell you so look at what they use. Even then it doesnt mean that is the best. I still use a machine from the 90s, company is out of business!
Awesome RUclips name! Are you using the White Beachhunter?
@@IndianaTones Originally 15 years ago it was the Whites Surfmaster PI pro. I have been buying parts off ebay to replace what I can to keep it running. So it is a Whites PI Frankenstein right now but it works!
@@pirateofmiamibeach Wow awesome detector.
@@IndianaTones So far I have not found a better water machine. I do use a Minelab Manticore for the dry sand and surf. I am loving that machine.
I love my equinox. The Minelab Xterra pro is a great one to start out with and have a lot extra money for all other items. Built very well.
Just ask for Greg Moscini 😀👮♂️
great video i hope alot of newbies see it I went from a bounty hunter to a garrett to a minelab to a at pro to deus
Thank you Pete!
Thanks!
Thanks heaps, I found your video very honest, informative and useful!
Thank you Emski
I live in canada and looking to start metal detecting ! I can get a minelab vanguish 440 on sale for 365.00 or the nokta score for 465.00 , i have no idea which detector to look for but after listening to your and others channels these two seem to be a good all round one to buy ?
Double Score on sale amazon $479
Getting my first detector this year 2024 ,
My shortlist is xterra pro and nokta legend or vanquish
Mostly for field work .
but some beach
Thoughts would be welcome 😎
😆
For beach/salt water, how about the minicab exterra pro versus the anguish?
Brother what's a good detector for all terrain
Whats your budget? visit iratemetaldetectors.com

Thank you pal!
I’d like to get into it but this is brand new to me.. Id be looking for gold and silver in and very near saltwater here in Ft Lauderdale.. any pros out there that can point me in the right direction?
I am in Pompano Beach, and I have loved my Whites PI's for the beach - I think I have had 5 generations of them - down to three at the moment plus a homemade one - I also have a brand-new Dual-Field still in the box that was used once before the TDI Beach hunter came out - the Dual-Field can be chattery in the wet surf but the TDI requires a very strong scoop for the depth when using a 16.6v battery - there are a lot of different great detectors for our beach's -
Budget detectors love all detectors some do better then others cheap one do most what more expensive ones do try building a pulse induction detector
Hy there , so between nokta lite simplex and xterra pro whats the best in your opinion?? For a total amateur detention
Minelab Xterra Pro
What do you think about the Garrett Sea Hunter?
I own a sea hunter it is a pulse detector great for salt water not much discrimination . Dig all detector

minelab excaliber two is what im looking at in Oregon
Good job Mr Tones 🏋🏻♂️
Thank you!
What are your recommendations for gold and silver in mountains of Colorado and new Mexico
The focus on your detector usage indicates you're nottalking about the best detectors- just the best budget adventure/beach detectors. I bought my gold monster specifically for gold- and its great for that, if I want a good beach detector, I'll get a low frequency detector that suits wet salty ground. Specific purposes is what people should be looking at, not so much vague general purpose otherwise theyll buy a detector that wont do any specific purpose that well.
good video man thanks
My Bounty Hunter works great and was affordable. I am very impressed with it and have found many coins up to 10 inches deep. I tried a few other more expensive models friends own and they do not work any better. For sure Bounty Hunter is the best value metal detector brand i have found. One of the best purchases of my life. I use it often. Most metal dectors are extremely over priced. Most companies just want to make money and are not trying to make a affordable product the average low income dectorist can buy. I can probably find anything any other brand can find and maybe more. Everything i need.
Have you tried it on a salt water beach in the wet sand?
