    Very good video and pretty much spot on for most every point. I love my Nokta Legend and it's a very capable and durable machine. It is a little harder to use but once you setup your custom profiles you basically just go to the one you want and away you go. No questions XP Deus II and Manticore are great machines but you're paying a heck of a lot more for them. The price for XP Coils is just ridiculous and that was the big reason why I stayed away from XP. The Nokta Makro Legend has 5 coil options now and they range from $100 to $169 which is much more reasonable.

    Nice Video, R&R. Good information presented, without bias toward any one manufacturer.
    A big factor in which detector to buy is where one is going to use it. I don't hunt beaches b/c of my mid central location, but when the Apex came out, I became interested enough to buy one. At the time, ML was the only vendor selling their SMF machines, and SMF was what I wanted after owning a ML Sovereign many years ago. At the time of purchase, I had not metal detected for 15-20 years, so I wasn't sure if I would enjoy detecting again, so the Apex's cost was more in line with my budget.
    Garrett did a reasonable job with the Apex, and once learned does not disappoint. So much so that I have bought 2 other coils for it. I've found hundreds of coins, some jewelry and relics with the Apex at old homesites. I have hunted iron rich homesites with it, and it does a reasonable job. When the going gets tough as in denser iron, I use my Deus 2-9" coil. The Deus will hit a little deeper in my local soil matrix. The adjust ability of the Deus is what you pay for, and it sometimes helps on more difficult sites. A lot of older homesites don't require the ability of the Deus, so I use the Apex at these sites. My only wish is that Garrett would release an update for the Apex that included recovery time adjustment, and some others that you indicated; Or maybe and AT(Apex) version.
    The Deus is a lot more adjustable and for a comparable coil size can detect a little deeper. The persistence of the TID is much more stable on the Deus than the Apex, and the Deus RC is water proof for heavier rainfall or water hunting. A big factor for me was the lighter weight, like the Apex. At 70 yrs old, I like to minimize the weight to swing. I like both machines. Now there are other detectors available that are SMF which provide great performance/$ . But for now, I have both ends covered, so I'll enjoy what I have.

      Thanks for your comments. Lots of good information contained in it. When the Apex first came out I wasn't impressed. After they did the update, things improved. It really is an OK detector for most sites.

But for his budget, if he really wants to get a Nox, I think a used 800 would be the way to go over the 900.

Then i tried the xp deus 2 which is deeper on the beaches than the 4pi super fast in trash very light has 5 years warranty fantastic detector in my opinion , i haven't tried the manticore and have no intention of doing so as im very happy with the deus 2 , in my many years detecting one thing ive learnt is if you want to do well get a good detector your happy with and learn it inside out and stick with it learn its language dont look at screens listen to the ground , people who keep buying the latest detectors will not only waist there money but hever do very well either.

    Guys, ive metal detected for 25 years, tried em all. NOTHING, I MEAN NOTHING compared to the Whites V3i. It truly searched in three frequencies at the same time and deciphered, analyzed and gave you the information back in the correct frequency. Multi frequency is not the same as the V3i operating in 2khz, 7.5khz, and 22.5 khz. Its polar plot graph analyzing screen was 100% correct on if it is a coin or not. ALL in Color. Also, with the standard coil, I easily found silver dimes on edge at 11-12 inches, NOT KIDDING. Yes, it was complex to setup and expensive, but amazing. I'd never give mine up. With all that said I am not a fan of the wire on the Dues in water and it makes a really high end detector look like it came out of the dollar store it’s just ugly and comes off in rough water. The multi plug up charge is not my favorite either I just don’t trust so many plugs. Small control box is not a plus either I like seeing the screen without having to squint and the VDI numbers go away to quickly to bring up and look closer. Both XY and 2D screens are just a tool don’t rely on either 100% but with manticore it’s a tool available on the big screen always without giving up VDI size.

    Nothing Wrong with the Legend menu layout I learned the whole thing in a couple of days. You have to learn how to use equipment no mater what kind it is. The Manuel explains everything. The Legend is the best machine for the dollar in my opinion!!

      @RelicsRings  8 месяцев назад

      Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Yes everyone should read the manual and in the case of the Legend & Deus 2 for a beginner you need it on your phone for reference when in the field, unless you have a real good memory. Legend has hidden menu options that are not apparent from just scrolling through the menu. Not well laid IMO, but yes it is easy to learn over a few days of use. I also agree the Legend is the best machine for the money.

    Does the Deus 2 have that external wire that has to be hooked up from coil to pod when submersing it in water? Did they improve the latch so you don’t lose the control pod? I’m guessing these downsides were on the first Deus model.

    • @RelicsRings
      @RelicsRings  Год назад +1

      Yes, Deus 2 requires an external cable running from the coil to the remote in order to submerge it. There is an after market accessory available to hold the remote on better, but I haven't used one myself.

      @RelicsRings interesting... reason I brought that up First Texas has them forsale at that price with Waranty. My F5 is a small chain and small gold ring finding magnet, The Omega 8000 is a stud on Silver, The Simplex+ is just fun to use and I've used it enough to figure the jumpy target ID to nail down quite a few 9 inch finds. The Nokta Impact is just Deep and versatile the Deus one just stupid good in Iron. But in the real world of finds under 6 inches out of the 21 units I own I really find no real world differences from a 1983 Tesor Silver Saber to my Etrac. It's after 6 inches that gets interesting but detectors like my Tesoro Vaquero or modified Cibola hang just as well as my others. One of my sleepers is a dang old Garrett GTI 2500. Recovery speeds and processing speeds on some are better then others. But in the wild comparing targets just depends on my current search setup and coil I'm using at that given time. I just watched a video of the Legend getting beat out by three analog units in a simple iron test that the guy replicated on his actual recorder video dig. He then took the V or horse shoe bent nail placed the coin same way he found it and could get the magical cyclop see all Legend to get it or however he says it very funny sarcasm video but I get where he is coming from with all the marketing hype, even Dilec gets into with Calabash and I think it's a marketing ploy myself. I guess I'll buy one since it's the cheapest of all the Multi-IQ machines and give it a go.

    • @RelicsRings
      @RelicsRings  11 месяцев назад +1

      @rickvann3489 I have mineralized dirt, so anything that can get a dime at 6" and give an ID is good. Most of those single frequency machines you mentioned will not hit a 6" dime here. If you don't have mineralized dirt, then I'm sure any of those machines you mentioned will do just fine. I also enjoy waterproof control box, wireless headphones, internal rechargeable batteries, adjustable iron bias, adjustable recovery speed and multi frequency that none of those detectors you mentioned have. The Legend is like having 4 detectors in one. Once you use I for a while. I'm sure you're going to like it.

      I have the Deus 2, Manticore and Nokta as well and I find the Deus2 and Manticore both very good in iron I have been digging on a colonial site recently and both are pulling good targets out of heavy iron. The deus does a great job but I am not a fan of the small control box, the manticore is super deep and it loves hitting the smaller targets, also the 2d display is nice tool but much like XY on the deus I don’t rely on it for anything more than a second point of reference. I’d recommend turning sensitivity down on your Manticore to 22 or lower even and you’ll still find it still very deep and equal to the deus in iron from what I have seen. Both great machines I just prefer the larger control and screen on Manticore.
