    For your 500ml cup kit I would suggest trying a Fancy Feast stove. They work great in all temperatures and have a built in pot stand.

      Thats a great idea, I'll give it a shot. Thinking of getting into bikepacking, a little 500ml pot/Fancy Feast setup would be perfect for that.

    I've come to many of the same kit decisions. Got a 1200ml? and à 500ml titanium pot. A large Foldacup instead of the bowl, an old boot polish tin with a fire rope inside instead of the Trangia. Bought a cheap stainless pot stand just to crib the design and a cheap knock off British army mess tin. I'm practicing using a Dremel on old coffee cans and when I'm confident with it I'll make the mess tin into a lightweight copy of the pot stand but with the wind break incorporated into the design. Might even work!

      Sounds awesome. Be great to see your setup. I like to spend a bit of time at camp and cook some proper food so good to have a decent setup rather than 1 cup. Fire rope sounds interesting, I'm actually thinking of getting a Firebox Nano to play with cooking on a twig fire

      @@simpler_times81 I've cut down to basics as I'm relocating to a part of the country that's much more outdoors people friendly. When I started using twig stoves I swapped the pouches for cotton bandanas as you can use them to get the pots off the fire, nylon and fire don't mix too well. The bandanas have lots of uses too.

    What’s the size of the GSI bowl?

    • @simpler_times81
      @simpler_times81  3 года назад +1

      The bowl is from a GSI Dualist Cookset. Not sure the exact size. Could measure it if you'd like?
