The handles are formed into a kind of "letter C" shape and can be removed and bent slightly then replaced into the cup/pot.
That will tighten them up and quiet them down. I modified the lid handle the same way, then took a small file and filed
a slot in one end of the hinge (just like the Toaks). Now the little tab stays up when needed, and doesn't rattle.

I recently ordered the Toaks 1600 ml pot and pan through REI and will pick it up at their store to avoid a shipping fee. I'm so glad I went with the Toaks instead of Snow Peak! Great video comparison and thanks!

My branded 750 ml Toaks pot says Esbit on it. The way i dealt with not having measuring marks on the pot was taking the long handle spoon that I always carry and filing notches in it. Hold spoon in pot and pour until the notch goes underwater.
And I'm with you on that handle kink for the third finger. You don't need to have a death grip on the handle to keep your knuckles off the hot side of the pot.
I put one of those silicone rubber wrist bands around the top to act as a hotlip.

Thanks for taking the time--your video helped me make the decision to purchase Toaks. BTW-Toaks got your email, and all of the sizes I've seen now have the levels indicated--without having to send your pot to TheGoatMumbler shop for marks!
BTW, "Viola" is an instrument similar to a violin; the usual expression is "voila"--French for "There it is!" or "There you go!" [2:58] But...I love it. A new "Dadism" for the kids! Vi-ola!

This is the first time a review clarified the difference in Toaks handles.
I have never liked wire handles, and I never liked them for the reasons you mentioned.
    The handles rattle around.
I would have to steady the cooking pot or cup with my knuckles touching rhe hot surface, so what is the point?
I select cookware or cups with no handles, or lock in place and squeeze to fold down.
I like what I have, but it is good to know Toaks might be in my future.
    I have admired their products.

I have the same Snow Peak kit. I always just slipped a stick through the pot lid handle and that always made it easy to work the lid without burning my fingers or fumbling around. My only complaint with the SP kit was the floppy handles.

I took handles off my Toaks pots when one melted (part of) its sack. I have an old pot grabber from a previous Al cook kit that I use for stove removal. Also made insulated lids using foil and foam-core, and insulated sleeves using foil and paper. Insulation really improves the time hot water stays hot!
My 650 & 1100 Toaks pots have graduations...

Snow peak makes some great pots, so does toaks. The snow peak pot you have is kind of the cheap one that does not fit in the normal product line. The 450, 600, 900 pot all have better handles. Snow peak is more cash, so if on a budget, toaks is the way to go. For me anyway, my TI pots are going to last me my lifetime,.. I go out to eat at a restaurant once and it's a $70 bill. So the extra cost of one brand over another is really a wash over time for a long use item like a pot. Not related, but an example,.. I got a good home use pot set when I got married, still using it 30 years later. I might have paid $100 more for the better set, but over time it's really nothing. Buy what you really want once,..

I dont get why people think titanium is so wonderful . Not really worth the jacked up price vs. stainless . If a person is that worried about weight .....maybe they need to hit it harder at the gym . In the bigger picture , there are few advantages to titanium over steel , or even aluminum . The money you save could be better put to use on more important items .

It’s my understanding that Snow Peak uses Grade 1 pure titanium and Toaks uses Grade 5 (89%) titanium mixed with? This probably accounts for the cost difference along with the cost of manufacture. I think I’ll stick to cookware manufactured in countries with at least some consumer protections.

@En' Peacee Shekelstein What part of LOWEST did you not understand? English, anyone??? This is to differentiate between higher grades that have fewer impurities or have been alloyed. The basics of this is that too many people think Grade 1 is the highest grade when in fact it is the lowest.

i dont think its a good idea to mark this thin material at all... as you weak the surface this way. when you use and heat the pot for a long time it will "maybe" burst one day at exactly this stamp point. excuse my english. greetings from a metalworker from germany :-)
    thanks for the nice review!

Interesting. Thank you. In your opinion, is titanium safe to eat from? I know not to eat from aluminum or teflon coated pans. Have figured titanium is used to replace bones so it must be safe. But maybe I am wrong? Silicon is now considered unsafe in the body...

The thing about Chinese products is sometimes it seems like they get rid of their toxic industrial waste by putting it into consumer products they export.
