It's been more actually, she didn't know that one of the infantrymen was Cloud. When he takes off the helmet she's unconscious. Cloud was hiding, because he promised he would be a SOLDIER, not a common trooper. He was ashamed of himself. So when he says "5 years", it's one of many clues that something about Cloud's story doesn't add up.

Damn, no option to give it to Marlene huh? In the original game I always gave it to Marlene because I thought it was really cute how this hard, though guy sees a girl who's really shy and scared of him and decides to be a softie. The part where Barret then rushes, asks about the flowers, asks Marlene if she thanked Cloud, and she says "Thank you Mr. Cloud" was one of the sweetest moment.

I think the biggest factor is the dating mechanic from the original has not transferred over. There may be a new affection system, but not like the original.
I’m guessing we’re getting a new canonical version of the date where Cloud goes out with Tifa. The romance between Aerith and Cloud is more there, but still more so Zack. And with Zack’s death now thrown into question at the end, not to mention a lot of the other original dynamic outcomes being removed, the date with Aerith seems even less likely.

As you play thru this game, it seems like Aerith knows that this is her second life and that she knows that she dies the first time round.
So by her giving Cloud the flower for free, symbolizes her reunion meeting him again.

It’s their first meeting 😂 It’s not a reunion. “To commemorate this meeting.” Aerith says in Japanese which is what zack tells her in crisis core when giving her the ribbon. 🎀
@@sakuracardcaptor4709 Perhaps that's what it says in Japanese, I don't know if you're right. Regardless, this absolutely IS a reunion. This is an alternate timeline from the original game, not a proper remake. It is repeatedly hinted at throughout the game that Aerith remembers everything that happened in the original game. If the dialogue was tweaked in the localization to reflect that fact, it just fits in with the myriad other instances throughout.
Not exactly... she knows that his heart is with someone else as hers is with someone (Zack Fair) who has not yet reunited with her thus the back petal. Its been a while since Cloud has met up with Tifa and in turn he literally gives her the flower. Aerith literally stated the flower is a representation of reunion of two lovers. One more time from the top. Cloud literally gives Tifa the flower knowing its representation.

I don't give a damn about this Cloud Tifa/ Cloud Aerith shippers. I just want my boi Zack to be reunited with Aerith even if it's for a short while that dude deserves it, he fought through hell and back just to die in Crisis Core and due to this timeline distortion and stuff he get a chance to live. So I'm just hoping there will be a scene that he will met Aerith again even if it's for one last time.
Kazama Kido this. i don’t even want them to change the story/ending. just give us one scene in which “zack reunites” with aerith because it kills me to think that aerith and zack never once saw each other again after he left midgar. WE JUST NEED PROPER CLOSURE AND FOR AERITH TO LEARN THAT ZACK DID ALL HIS BEST TO REUNITE WITH HER BUT HE DIED A HERO.

SAME. I'm not sure how that whole thing that was implied in the ending will play out, but I need them to have some sort of interaction. She has to know he never forgot about her and fought to get back to her.
I'm sure that the singularity they entered, which existed across time as seen by how it also appeared in the alternate timeline for Zack, will be used again in the future, but next time, Zack will be entering it as well, and that Zack from the alternate timeline will meet the others from the timeline we just played in the OG. Had Zack entered that singularity instead of having to fight the Shinra soldiers in his timeline, they would have met, so I'm sure entering the singularity will be used again to have Zack from the alternate timeline be able to interact with those from the current timeline of our party.
They get together in Advent Children. They both exist through the white light. Makes sense as well Aerith and Zack reunited in the lifestream Cloud and Tifa together in real life
What I especially love about the last bit is how Cloud is all evasive, then doubtful, but then Aerith asks what he did to the flower and he answers so sure of himself "I did", which prompts the flower girl to just prod further and make him fumble. 😂

When cloud gave tifa that flower it is in the beginning of the game. I'm sure he still had some feelings for her then and he didn't know aerith at that time. But as the game goes on you can see he's falling for aerith and isn't seeing tifa in that way anymore. At least that's what I got from it.

Everyone is talking about how Cloud gave it to Tifa, but lets not forget the love triangle existed because Aerith saw Cloud as Zack. The triangle lives.

Ehhhh... they went overboard. Game feels like a bad harem. I know romance was in the original but it was tame. All of the girls minus Tifa(to an extent) are wayyyy too clingy and annoying lol
@@hypeman1825 The old game was only "tame" due to it being a very low budget game from 1997 with no cutscenes or even voice acting. In the HD, voice acting era, we welcome that interactions are way richer now.

Cloud gave her the flower because he was so deep in his mind that he wanted to meet Tifa. This cloud has big problems with personality and memory due to the Genoa cells in him.
He is saved by Tifa in the lifestream, and real Cloud and Tifa finally reunion in a true sense.

I wish they had created another character for Tifa to end up with. Cloud is an asshole with her. I mean in the movie Advent Childre he left her with an a sick orphan that he picked up and didn't even pick up his calls. I guess the creators had to leave him with a nice leading lady after Aerith's death but I wish the wouldn't have made Tifa's story so sad in order to favor Cloud.

lol... I don't know why people are suddenly romanticizing this reunion because of what Aerith said at the beginning. We all know what the REUNION is. Did you guys see the flower break into pieces in a vision? "Follow them, the yellow flowers." She also said the flowers are trying to tell her something but she can't hear them until they take the final step. These flowers seem to be ominous... because they decided to suddenly associate them to the REUNION. It might not be all caps reunion but it alludes to it. Aerith seems to have a lot more involvement with Sephiroth in the remake than before. Btw, I think the Famitsu has "REUNION" in all caps when describing the flower...

1. Aerith gives flower to Cloud Clerith+1

3. Cloud looks at flower again, wonders about mysterious Aerith Clerith +0.5

5. Aerith sees flower at Tifa's bar and smiles CloTi +1

Nobuo Uematsu really created one of the most perfect, iconic theme songs when he created Aerith's theme. I know he likes to play mix and match with his Final Fantasy game soundtracks, but this one is so beautiful.
It was kind of sad when Tifa found out he got the flower from Aerith in her resolution and noticed that he didn’t really buy it for her, also proving what she thought earlier that there was something going on with Cloud and Aerith.
Tifa reunite with Cloud after 7 years, and suddenly he knows Aerith out of nowhere and he got the flower from her, any woman would feel insecure about this. Wait till the jail scene later when Aerith mention the date, I can't wait to watch that part in the cutscene.

Haven't watched the entire playthrough but I have a strong feeling Aerith already knew Cloud before she even met him here. Such is why the Whispers are all around her for defying fate which indicates she must have done something big. It's like she's been through all this and starting over again, also explains how she knew Marlene without meeting her in the first place which left Tifa confused. The next episode might reveal alot about this. There's still a 50/50 chance Aerith might survive in this timeline I love how they made subtles hints but never really making big points as to what happens in the next update. And as we know in this timeline their fate became a blank slate as the previous one was broken meaning Aerith may survive but it also means Sephiroth may win and avoid his failures in Advent Children. They really did a great job with this one. Now it's not the old one timeline progression of the story anymore.

Little bit different nuance in the Japanese source dialogue and characterization. Aerith doesn't say "thought you didn't like lying," she actually says "really~?" She teases Cloud cause she sees he's embarrassed to admit he has a crush and romantic feelings for Tifa, like a typical boy with a crush and romantic feelings who doesn't want to admit it and a typical talkative girl teasing him about crushing on someone.
Aerith sees the flower in 7th Heaven and smiles. I think Aerith is actually pushing Cloud and Tifa this time lol

@Silvana Sanchez You are wrong about the “you can’t fall in love with me” it’s implied that Aerith know what is going to happen and wants to spare the pain of her death which got him serious depression in AC (which was triggered because of Elmyra paying him to deliver some flowers to her grave and because of geostigma) dude literally left the bar and was living in the church near her flower bed waiting to die there, that’s why she responds sad but with a smile “if that’s what you want, thank you” she knows things will repeat again and she can’t stop any of it, just listen to hollow lyrics and watch all the flashbacks Cloud has about her death.
Also all of this is after he recovers his true memories of his childhood and Nibelheim incident, so that didn’t really change what he felt for Aerith or the rest of the party.

Also this is an optional scene, if anything, since you specifically chose her AS THE PLAYER (because cloud aint cloud), she is literally speaking directly to you. The one who chose her. I interpreted this scene as "This is the new FF7 timeline, in which Aerith and Cloud (and the other characters) are finally reunited for another epic journey"

EDIT: Ya know guys. After playing the German version, this is honestly even more apparent. Aerith never even talks about "lovers" in that dub. Simply says it's a symbol of "reunion", which fits perfectly well with the ending of the game.

Due to contrary belief, it appears that Aerith loved Cloud but she only loves Cloud-Zack. (Since Cloud is living through Zack's persona) I probably could've worded this better but idk.

The promise happened when Cloud was 14, he is 21 when the reactor bombing begins.

I was Enchanted with these eyes since the original game but in the remake even more Enchanted Aerith could likely get me to do anything she wanted all it would take is just one glance into her eyes and I would be helpless to resist.

Nope, ‘cause either way Aerith’s the one who still put it.. it’s Very Significant in the Story that Tifa Received It & put it on 7th Heaven.
I’m thinking Zack didn’t see the whispers at the end either. If anything he may have only seen the explosion that somehow happened in his time prior to death when the party defeated the god of fate.

Later when Tifa was telling Leslie the message of the reunion flower, Cloud remembers what Aerith said to him while giving the flower. Cloud got Aerith's message.

She for sure does more than just lean on his shoulder in the high affection version. “You were listening” vs “you were watching” along with completely collapsing when she finds out they were seen which only happens in the high affection. They definitely had sex in the high affection version.

You tell her while holding a red cocktail like the color of her eyes and says "beautiful" and she plushes

She becomes joules of another girl holding your hand so she does the same
If you lesson to barret in chapter 14 he tells how she refused al bouquet of flower and you confidently say "of course she did"
You hug her again so hard that you don't notice you are hurting her and if you goes with the other girl she tells you NOT TO FALL IN LOVE WITH HER
I mean come on people isn't it clear that tifa is the one he loves? You even have sex with her in the original game and all what happened in the remake is just 20% of the complete game
Cloud loved aerith without a doubt and the choices defined who you loved more but besides the point that aerith dies, the plot of the remake just pushes toward tifa way more than the original game that it's hard not to notice
It's more enjoyable with dramas, people said.

I think one of the reasons Aerith gave him the flower is because, when she saw is face, you can see Cloud's eyes and that reminded her of Zack. I know she adresses his eyes when she's with Cloud exactly in the same spot she had her first date with Zack but still, very hard for her to miss that detail.

The flower being auto-given to Tifa might symbolize the Golden Saucer date is either going to be completely scripted or only be determined in the game where it happens.
Felix Farside if u finished the game, then u will know the future is uncertain.
If you played the original game, you'd know the Golden Saucer date is determined by choices you make during the entire game. If you give the flower to Tifa, it gives her points. If you give it to Marlene, it gives Barrett points.
There is already a Aerith/Tifa/Barrett exclusive scene in this game depending on your choices, so I'd assume they kept the system of your choices mattering and that all three will continue to be an option

Cloud was confronted with many problems all at the same time that he did not know how to deal with them. Doesn't matter if he had all that physical prowess, how can you beat an unexplainable illness like geostigma? I think that probably lead him into much deeper thoughts and made him feel worthless... That is Cloud and that's why his friends are there to support him. In return, he kicks the bad guys butt :)
