The church that Zack walks in is very similar to the one that Cloud fall's in...suggesting the same timeline. See, for example, the pew against the wall on the left, and the chandelier on the pulpit.
Zack fell through that hole in the ceiling years before Cloud did…
It is the same church, the people in it are refugees from sector 7. I think he has been resurrected in this timeline and but the main group just dont know about it yet which will make for quite an "interesting" reunion if aerith and cloud end up falling for each other in the meantime.

I reckon they did with the VAs! Just feel sorry for the other crew which did Advent Children/Crisis Core.. should’ve added a switch so you could turn off and on with the OLD/NEW VAs ❤ can’t wait for Pt.2

it will probably alternate the timeline a bit and save aerith and maybe time travel zack in there or something.
afterall, cloud's memory being fuzzy and us seeing the game through his perspective makes it convenient to tell it as zack brought cloud in and left him in aerith's care.

How did I miss this? I finished this game last week in preparation for Rebirth and I don't remember this scene at all. I didn't skip the credits or anything.

@@FAITHandLOGIC It isnt stupid really, it actually makes a lot of sense - the magic of the original story was the big unexpected twists and turns, you cant retell literally the same story and expect people to get that same feeling again if they know when and where things will happen.

Zach was a throwaway character and they they had to create Crisis Core, making him the centerpiece of thr story.
Now, the gamers are emotionally attached to him, creating a demand to change the story and have him live. This is all comicbook bullshit that tries to sidestep the finality of death for the purpose of fan service pandering.
I wonder what Zack saw there and why are all these people crying? Now my curiosity won't let me live in peace! By the way, it will be (not) fun if it turns out that he and Aerith can survive only separately from each other, in different realities, that is, they never meet. I've already seen a game with a similar plot.
They’re seeking refuge at the church because of sector seven’s collapse and they’re mourning the loss their their homes and people who probably went missing and died during the event.
You want to know what makes this more interesting? What if Zack isn't really in a alternate reality. What if he thinks he was alive and well? What if his side of reality is the same reality of Clouds but in a different world? What if Zack... Was in the mainstream?
They entered the portal and they are already moving in the alternate reality and i gues they gonna recognize once they see that they both wear the mastersword.

Just my own thoughts, I think he realise Aerith isn't there. The destiny is fixed, both of them will die and shouldn't meet, so even if Zack survive he won't meet Aerith who is still alive in the original timeline.

I have played original FF7 quite a lot and know the game very well, but I never touched any of the other stuff from the FF7 universe. I feel like I have to play this Crisis Core game now to know wtf is going on with Zack since he was such a minor part of the original game.
Yeah kinda same played the remake epic game feel sht that I had been sleeping on this gold but I don't get sht just what is with cloud memory and who tf is zack? Isn't he suppose to be dead? And tf is with sephiroth he is literally a gay stalker I downloaded all the anime and movie related to ff7 in hope I get to understand sht
@@goodboysady I think in the new remake Sephiroth is from the future and is aware of what happened already in the original FF7 (and Cloud is starting to realize it too) and the remake is sort of like a sequel where time is starting over again or something. I don’t really know much about the Zack stuff outside of what was in the original game and I don’t care to play an entire PSP game to figure out what his specific story is… I tried watching the anime, but the English voice acting was so bad and didn’t match the mouths so I turned it off lol. Oh well, hopefully they can explain it in the 2nd remake.

Wait, Zack is ALIVE! I just finished playing crisis core. I mean how could he die, I just killed 2000 shinra soldiers in a mission with assault twister+50ATK and curaga +300%HP. But how about the Buster Sword still with him after he gave it to Cloud.. I guess he did die. Aww too much for making him Invincible in Crisis Core with all that DMW's. lol
I know we get to see glimmers of real cloud here, but still I can’t wait already for part 3 when we get to see clouds proper flawed hero but a good fun man shine

Sephiroth dies in the original and he knows this so he broke fate. But he’s too dangerous to just let go so Cloud and them followed him through the portal of endless possibilities. In one of the realities Zack survived. That’s pretty much where we are at now with no further explanation. Do the two timelines bleed together? Are there multiple timelines? Infinite? Is this because of Kratos? lol

If done right it can be just as good as an open world but the thing is ff7r was terrible at it. Open world games can be fun and engaging by nature because exploration is easy to implement but ff7r ferls way too linear and full of areas that are complicated just to make you waste an hour or two.
Developers said that the party would be wandering the world, can’t remember the exact quote but something like that so it’s not really confirmed just hinted that it might. Just have to wait till late 2022 or early 2023 for expected release date 👍

If Zack is alive, what is the point of Cloud? What will be the significance of Aerith's Sacrifice? Cloud, is now effectively optional in all parts of this story. How will everyone react to Cloud's delusion earlier in the story when their bond is weaker? The previous story is now utterly pointless and a waste of time.
Square lied, this was not a remake. This was a reimagining or sequel. They should have been up front.
Near the end I realized the "Remake" in the title meant as in Remake the future. It's a different game now.

true, they did. I sill find the game intresting since its nostalgia, but as you said, half of this is pointless. Everybody would be happy if the just remaked the game with cool new features like this, going from Midgar to Calm. Dont see any point of tangeling two different timelines, I mena the timeline with Zack..... I think they are developing their own multiverse like Marvel or something, blah blah....

A double date with Cloud&Tifa, and Aerith&Zack would be the best remake.
