Never seen anyone so chill about doing a clutch job
No kidding!
When your not under the pressure of the clock and love what you do then any job is pretty chill. Good job benny!
And still done by lunchtime. Workshop mopped. Pro. Props to camera and editing too, tidy with all the steps at good angles in quick cuts to music. 👍
I have been of work 14 weeks with a broken back. I have re watched so many videos on here. Great continued content and your a gun Benny
Hope you feel better soon fella
Done by lunchtime, my mechanic always says couple weeks 🤣
Benny ! Best part about Wednesday’s is you brother man 👌🏻
But we need more than 12 minutes please !!
When the bolt has sheared and the end of it is flush more or less like that I never ever try drilling or use those garbage ez outs. I pull out my mig welder and a hex nut and weld it on top of the bolt and simply unscrew it.
Seen Jared do this, either on Tavarish or Wrench Everyday. Think on the McNugget...
Right on Mate. It's even better if you drill a hole first, it Shrinks the Bolt even more!!! All the Best from Canada
You’re a bloody skilled Mechanic Benny!
Hey Benny great vid mate.
I have a 32 gts4 that Is getting lots of loving. Be cool if you can do a vid on what you know about the 4wd system (how they work, how to bleed etc) including your opinion on aftermarket torque split controllers.
Keep them coming mate 👌👍
Regards from West Aus 🤙🍻
Awesome vid! I’m stoked for the next one!
Definitely one of your better videos Benny! Thanks!
You make it look easy Benny. Great work.
I think I've found my new fav channel, love Al and woody and the nugget boys, but they way your editing/music and length of vids is 👌🏻👌🏻 keep up the good work Ben !
Great to see work on the R32. Loving this "Back to stock" series
Subscribing because OEM+ Resto builds for the win 👍
Awesome content mate!!
Now that's a socket extension!!! Love that you are taking this back to stock.
You must be stoked have such a rare car.
Reminds me having imported a GTST 4 door
[family car] in the mid 2000's and it was the
best car I have ever owned.
Great vid as always 👍🏻
nice job benny as always awesome and entertaining
nice one Benny, happy for you bro!
Digging tghe tunes lately Ben. Nice work.
Wow, that gearbox came out and back in, in just a matter of seconds. My memories of a similar job include much cursing and letting myself cool overnight to takle it again the next day.
That was actually cool to watch, in all my years never had the chance to work on a GTR so was great to see how simple they really are for what they are...
Benny just made working on a GTR look easy
Good work Benny 👍
Good stuff Benny !
Lovin the T-shirt Benny 😎
Nice work Benny..
This is the first time I’ve ever seen someone on RUclips use a transmission jack correctly! Good job on the clutch replacement
Love seeing resto rather then modification 🤙🏻
Big job, no sweat Benny!
Yeah gtr time! We used to put the garbage bins (you know the dark grey Brute bins famous all around the world) under the trans when we pulled them from engines, saves cleaning time 😁
Now it reminds me that I have to put back together my awd, and that stupid gearbox on the ground 😭
You make it look easy mate.
6:10 that was a total ah-ha moment when you explained about the left-hand drill bits
11:10 Majestic seeing it go through the gears on the hoist
4:58 Same thing happend on my S13 this week, pivot broke at his base juste like you. Now i need to take the gearbox of the car, not that easy on SR s13 with no proper lift. In the maintime, it's also the perfect opportunity to check rear main seal, pilot bearing and swap the Oem Flywheel with an Nismo super coppermix single plate and off course replace the pivot ball.😁
LH Drill bits are ace!
Exedy make good clutches. I've used them in a Peugeot and a Bedford!!
That old clutch looked shagged any way was awesome sauce to find out how intricate these drive lines be this is going to be one of my favorite builds/resto
Yes I knew it was due for replacement however I limped it around .
shit if i ever need to remove the transmission of a r32... i need to buy way more extensions...
Extensions are life
@TJ Pass how do you do it?
Never knew these were called GD-R's in Australia. Haha just kidding! Thanks for the video Benny, I love to see these standard as much as modified.
Benny, Once it’s all back to factory condition and running nicely, be great to see it do some laps of eastern creek and a couple of passes down the new drag strip to see what the actual performance levels of a stock GTR would have been back in the day. A benchmark of sorts so those guys who have one and are modifying it would have an idea of the base starting level. Also, just be nice to hear it being driven with passion 👌
I have the same shift knob on my R32 GT-R Benny!
I had the same thing happen on my old 31 back in my p plate days. I got one of the last ones from Nissan
You reminded me of the time I collected a R32 and it had a triple plate in it. I know the car had N1's and other bits but holy shit the clutch was so impractical for street duty.
5:53 NOT sponsored or supported by SnapOn tools
Lovely to see one being put back to near factory spec.
Love the "Air" Dyno benny.
Good ol nut and bolt check.
It would have been even cooler if he turned the steering wheel and we could have seen the HICAS (4 wheel steering) in action as well.
Benny, you should think about making 15, 20, 30 minute videos... Just saying dude. We will watch!
All that clutch dust!
God I love you Benny, repping the @wasabicars shirt all the way
I actually work for exedy australia lmao. Its weird seeing the clutches fitted. I only see them as we pack them
Yo Benny! You sound exactly like the person who voices the Door Dash add on RUclips haha. No shit like dead ringer! Keep up the killer content!
I have always wondered how the awd worked in one of these skylines very interesting.
So when they talk of having a 60 rear wheel 40 front wheel split is that just altering the hydraulic pressure to the front somehow? Is it actually adjustable?
Nice
I have found Exeedy clutches to be better than oem. Good choice
Benny,I just had an idea for a numberplate you could use for this car.N.V.US.?Envious?Yes I am.
7:50 "Turbo Tom liked that."
Great vid mate, what's that clutch rated at (HP) ? Do you have a part number for the entire kit? Looking to replace my clutch soon on my 1992 GTR. Thanks. Thumbs up.
i had same problem but mine was caused by not putting dust cover back on
“Putting around town”? 8k & dropped it 💥
Daniel Bakker dropping the clutch wouldn’t have caused this failure though.
@4:28 "Which extension do you need?" "All of them."
👍
Hey man, great channel. Dude, one bloke to another, I started losing my hair and went to Ashley and Martin and they really helped. I think you can save what you have and regain some of what is thinning out. Keep up the great work, always good to watch you do interesting projects
Whats thr best way to install gearbox, do you need to rotate it to clear the starter bellhousing area chassis?
Yes it will need to be rotated to get it in ,
How is the price of a GTR clutch in comparison to a 2WD clutch on a similar car? Love the T shirt!
Afaik it’s the same as the R33 GTST clutch as it’s push type. Approx $380 so pretty fair price wise.
Would You consider doing a video on tools? Not like "best tools on planet" clickbait shit, but something along the lines "wished I got this sooner" and include cheap stuff that we sometimes overlook and skip saying that a hoist will change Your life, everyone knows that xD For me it would be long wrenches like You use here for driveshaft, quality vise, too many jack stands, bootle jack or spare jack for odd jobs, basic bearing pullers, flat ended levers to pry shit apart and forks for ball joints, basic brake line kit. 4 last things I borrowed from my great friend more times than I should, while all of that is like just 100$ here for medium quality tools that will get You by.
Weld a nut to the broken bolt. The heat will loosen it and the nut gives you more purchase than an easy out. Heaps quicker and easier all round
Was snapped flush, didn’t want to overheat the alloy nose plate .
It can still be done and the alloy usually sucks the heat away quick enough but either way works in the end
My trans is stuck any suggestions
You have much better luck with left handed bits than me. My ratio is the other way 9 times out of 10 it doesn’t work.
Gotta love a new clutch plate that comes painted in "misalignment red", eh?
Benny, are your front tires spinning in the correct orientation?
Greg Pitt what do you mean? Like they’re fitted left/ right swapped?
@@BennysCustomWorks, yes, what you said! 😉👍🏻
@@gregpitt4585 They are correct. If you mean if they spin the wrong way it just looks like it on camera. Because they record at 25 fps. It will look backwards at certain speeds.
👍👍👍👌👌👌
Noob questions - but what’s the point of gravity bleeding over vaccum bleeding ?
Vacuum bleeding sometimes won’t remove air pockets
do u have the complete unedited footage of this?
Probably.
@@BennysCustomWorks would love to see it all so I can do the entire job myself 😃
Benny’s gtr vs Marty’s sti?
Benny testing the clutch.

Most of us would cry into our wallets if our GTR clutch went. Benny, meh.........
