I'm like the dude filming this! I just plug my ears until the alarm starts going off, than I'm fine, I like these alarms that just continuously beep, and don't beep every second.
Happened to me in Elementary school. Once in 1st grade; as soon as the teacher started taking attendance, alarm went off. During an assembly in 3rd grade, it delayed, then went off. We had bells at the time
i always ask my 1st and 4th period teacher if we have a fire drill because it always happends between those times, And on 4th period she said, Oh ya we are, and i cover my ears the whole period until the alarm went off
My high school used to love to do fire drills first thing in the morning. Basically, get in, take attendance, morning announcements, fire drill. Boom, boom, boom, boom.
Technicalboy3000 Yeah! Every school in our district got a Notifier upgrade and and have P2R Advances (except the High School that kept most NSs, MTs and RSSs and added HSR and STR Exceders), however most of the classrooms actually have SR strobes!
My axiety was so bad for fire drills I spent the first 2 years of high school outside before the alarm went off, I spent the other 2 years in the Student Success room blasting music til the alarm went off. Thankfully the door would be closed so the noise of the alarm would be gradual.
I only do that when I don't know if the lights will blink before the alarm goes off but if I know the lights will blink before the alarm goes off then I'm not scared
The way you guys handled that is amazing. The fire alarm went off, and instead of the teacher yelling at the kids to get in line, everyone got up and exited calmly and quickly. Well done.
Since I was little, I was scared of fire drills, so I cover my ears before the drill. Also, when I went to my therapist about that, she told me not to cover my ears because I’ll never know when will the fire alarm will go off (unless if my teacher tells me the time) so my therapist said that it’s better to cover my ears during the drill instead of before. I started to overcome my fear in 6th grade and I wasn’t scared anymore.
Same with me too When I was a little kid in the early 2000s back in the day I didn't really like the loud noise of fire alarms either I didn't really like the bright flashing lights either
When I was in elementary school, I was told to _never_ cover my ears. What terrible advice that was... I don't think I'll ever get over my fire alarm anxiety, but thankfully I have accommodations at my work place.

Our alarm was bells in a code 5 signal. We never knew when we were going to have a fire drill; they just happened. We had to leave in single file lines, no talking, walk quickly but don't run.
Staff need to tell us if there is a fire drill, I either think it’s a real fire or some sick kid with a gun if they don’t tell us, they need to do better with that

Any way you look at it, these drills are very important. About 100 years ago, a fire broke out in a Catholic school in Chicago. This was before fire drills were required, and the reason they're required now. Many people were injured, or worse, from that disaster. Fire drills save lives.
This is at fishers high school in fishers Indiana and I attend this school. In the district, there is only 2 high schools and fishers is one of them. The other high school is Hamilton Southeastern and over there, their alarms are set for a code 3 tone and don’t have that recorded pledge😂 I also attended this school for 2 years
I don't know why, but when I was in first grade we were doing a test and I predicted we would have a fire drill in a couple minutes and I was right! The school I go to never tells us what day we will have a fire drill😤
@estheriah same, I moved school and it's better! Because they have speakers in every room and if they announce something, then 2 bleeps and someone is talking for like 5 seconds.
Our school fails at surprise if us with fire drills, hearing the keys make all of that noise going into the pull station makes it very predictable and at the 1st day of 6th grade for me, they accidentally tripped the fire alarms 30 minuets before the planned drill XD
In elementary school they got 4903 9102s and 9838s on march time 90 bpm and they announce it and my teacher told me when it going happen the day before or a few mins and i had to go out before the drills but i miss the system alot
In my school the principal says “Any student or faculty member that requires the use of an elevator, Please report to the main entrance now” like 9 or 10 minutes before the fire drill or evacuation but for me evacuation drills are twice a year
@Nick Giacometti honestly yes its annoying but i feel like its still necessary to have them once a month knowing that fires spread easily and fire drills are a legal requirement for not just schools but all businesses, for example the september 11 2001 attacks they had drills before the tragic day and when the first plane hit, almost everybody in the other building evacuated and people in the same building that got hit also evacuated but mainly those in the lower floors
Back in my elementary school years we have Simplex QuickAlerts and they would always used to scare the shit out of me and sound exactly on this video set continuous all horn strobes except smaller rooms which have strobes. What sucks is they don’t tell us when the drill will active and we would have these drills like 4 times the year.
At my school when we have a fire drill, they usually just announce on the intercom saying "This is a fire drill. Please evacuate to your fire drill locations." And lately they just announce it they don't set off the fire alarms which is fine by me but it's odd. And I've asked a few teachers at my school why they do that and they said, well first let me say that my school has different buildings like a 100, 200, 500, and 600 buildings. And the alarms are nit interconnected. So if you pull the alarm in the 100 building they will only sound in the 100 building. No where else. Backtracking to me asking a few teachers. Anyway they told me that the only way to get all the alarms to go off at the same time in every building is to set them up to go off at a certain time and it's through a computer. When it gets to that time they should all sound. However since my school was built in 1964 the system that should make all the alarms sound doesn't work well at times and sometimes the alarms sound in some buildings but not in others so I think they've decided to just make an announcement over the intercom rather than trying to get all of the alarms to sound.

They Think a kid pulled it or there is an actual fire inside the building A firetruck came and brought an ax to make holes in the wall to see if there was a fire inside the wall
We always know when there’s gonna be one . They will come over the PA system maybe 10 minutes prior saying all entries to the building are now closed .
comedy queen talk it over with a counselor or principal, then come up with a plan like getting out of the building before the alarm sounds or something, that's what I did(:

I lived in Wisconsin and we had one in January and we missed the bus for school. Well we went to the office to get a blue slip it was 7:40. So the lady tells me that the fire drill was 7:45. So my class was way on the other side. So I flew down the hallway and made it to class just in time. But we had to stand out in the snow and cold during our Fire Drill. Then funny thing is, everytime it would warm we would have one and I’d always have that feeling. But I can remember one day we had fire dills the whole entire school day on and off. Then the alarms kept going on and off while in class and we all thought it was so funny. 😂😂😂😂
My Elementary School was built in 1999 and has QuickAlerts and a few TrueAlerts that replaced one of them all set on continuos and they used to scared the shit out of me all the time when I was little.

My principle always told me a day before we have one and the time. Then she came and got me 5 mins before the drill and went outside with me so i didnt have to get scared. Im Autistic so loud noises like a fire alarm on continuous will give me anxiety attacks. I loved that she did that for me. She even gave me a pass a few times to stay home on the drill day. She also had a daughter with autism so she knew what to do. Now im a fire alarm collector. Lol
Whenever it is October,California has something called a"Shake Out" The Shake Out is an earthquake drill that the whole state is in I was notified by my teacher
My high school i went to is so big that each wings of the building where bathrooms and classrooms are have different tones from code 3 to continuous match time etc and also the main halls same thing

Most of the buildings in my university don't have any fire alarm inside the classrooms but horn or speaker strobes in the hallways & remote strobes in the bathrooms except for the 6 story buildings which have speaker strobes in the bathrooms
When I was in school, in the hallways there were Edwards Adaptahorns and Simplex 4040 fire horns. In my condo building we have Edwards Adaptahorns. They are great for waking me up at 2 am. t work we have fire drills and a simplex system. In my vacation home, I have installed Edwards Adaptahorns.
I went to an elementary school in the late 80s and early 90s that had Edwards Adaptahorns. The school was open space, so it didn't have walls to partition the classrooms, only furniture, cabinets and bookshelves. The alarms also did not have strobes, only horns. And, they were in march time. With nothing to muffle the sound due to the open space design, everything was wide open and It was horrible when they went off. Worse was when they had to work on the fire alarm system and we had to stay in the classroom when they went off. They renovated the school in the late 90s, long after I was gone, and the fire alarms were replaced during the renovation with more ADA compliant alarms.
I have the biggest fear of these I freak out every month and stress so much thinking when, why, and how its going to happen that I liget have a panic attack thinking of it
my residential treatment center in chicago has these alarms. on steady tone with automatic locking of the main doors and unlocking the fire doors. tied into a Notifier NFS-320 system
It looks like there might be a typo here not all high school fire alarms are too loud there are schools in USA of all elementary middle and high schools that have quieter fire alarm systems

@@kevinsvlogs8898 Oh my goodness that horn strobe should be turned down to low volume or if it's already on it's lowest volume or if not on lowest volume even lowest volume is too much or volume is unchangeable then repl;ace it with another alarm if want horn strobe then maybe system sensor L-series or newer Spectrealert advance on low volume if on high still remains brutal low volume not brutal at all maybe even just as quiet as speaker strobe fire alarms or even quieter
I’m in the west Seneca NY district and they’re adding new fire alarms to my high school and note they didn’t finish putting all alarms in yet there was a couple in like for example the band room the chorus room the main office and the bathrooms and those are loud as fuck
At my school when the fire alarm sounds the fire doors close the HVAC system is turned off and the exit signs flash at the exits and the HVAC is heating air conditioning and ventilation system
Bridgot Loesch in first grade, these 3 girls pretended to mess with the fire alarm when we were lined up to go back to our classroom. They did it to get a reaction out of me and they kept looking at me while doing it.
Lol one time in elementary school a girl named Sophia literally put her hand on the pull station looking like she was going to pull the fire alarm and it scared me but she didn't do it.
You are lucky that you just have a strobe in your room in my class there is a horn strobe (wheelock as) in my class and even a pullstation! It's so annoying⚠️⚠️⚠️
this is like my school in a lot of ways the classrooms have the exit sign above the doors they do the pledge over the intercom the mascot of the school is tigers the classrooms look similar they have the flag in the same spot the fire alarm is next to the door, except the ones at my school are edwards integrities, and they are on the wall instead of right next to the doors, and they are on code 3 the clocks are in the same place they have a big board and a projector screen the hallways kind of looks the same, but the ones at my school are wider and the ceiling is higher, and there are 2 lights right next to each other
For fire drills at my middle school, they don’t even set the alarm off. They just make an announcement over the intercom “Attention students and staff. Attention students and staff. We are conducting a fire drill. Evacuate. Evacuate.” Or something like that and it pisses me off because I’ve never heard the alarms at the school and I only have 1 year left of school there after I finish this school year. Anyone know why they don’t set off the alarms? Also, there are 2 kids with Down Syndrome and 1 almost fully mute kid that can only say “mommy”, “meow”, and “cat”. Not sure if that’s what’s preventing them from activating the system, and I don’t see why they couldn’t activate it even if that is the cause.
i plug my ears and they never tell us so every last day of the month i plug my ears. they promised we wouldn’t have anymore since ours sounds like the purge.
Today at 1:15 during my ela class, I was watching YT and then a fire drill starts, I knew it was gonna happen but not at that time. Sice there was just a strobe in the classroom, I did not cover my ears, but when it went off, as soon as a student opens the door, I cover my ears.
You know it's sad when they set those to continuous. We hear them well enough. Don't over do it. My old highschool did that but the alarms aren't loud. We only had two of those true alerts in the bathroom. It was the only ones in the school. The rest were older simplex's. I was using the bathroom one day, when it went off. The alarm was right across the stall I was in. I had just sat down on the toilet. And all I heard was reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I was like, "oh come on dude, i just sat down." So I hurried up and left. I was the last one out.

Mine does three beeps too. Actually, all of my schools (Elementary and Middle) did that! Also, the one time, my band class had to go to the High School to practice our music and stuff and once we got into the auditorium, the band teacher said "Ok, leave your coats on because we're having a drill. I *immediately* started crying and shaking. I didn't even have ANY headphones because they were left at the Middle School, which is across from the High School. And then one of the kids took me outside before the drill started and everything was fine after that.

You can do one with an alarm wires and some 9volt batteries.

code 5 is used for paranormal emergencies not fire emergencies
I cover my ears before the drill and uncover them as soon as the drill starts and every classroom exept gyms, music 1 and music 2 have remote/strobes.

I lived in Wisconsin and we had one in January and we missed the bus for school. Well we went to the office to get a blue slip it was 7:40. So the lady tells me that the fire drill was 7:45. So my class was way on the other side. So I flew down the hallway and made it to class just in time. But we had to stand out in the snow and cold during our Fire Drill. Then funny thing is, everytime it would warm we would have one and I’d always have that feeling. But I can remember one day we had fire dills the whole entire school day on and off. Then the alarms kept going on and off while in class and we all thought it was so funny. 😂😂😂😂
My Elementary School was built in 1999 and has QuickAlerts and a few TrueAlerts that replaced one of them all set on continuos and they used to scared the shit out of me all the time when I was little.
Some fire alarms will strobe for 20 seconds to give a all clear signal after the alarm shuts off.

My principle always told me a day before we have one and the time. Then she came and got me 5 mins before the drill and went outside with me so i didnt have to get scared. Im Autistic so loud noises like a fire alarm on continuous will give me anxiety attacks. I loved that she did that for me. She even gave me a pass a few times to stay home on the drill day. She also had a daughter with autism so she knew what to do.

Most of the buildings in my university don't have any fire alarm inside the classrooms but horn or speaker strobes in the hallways & remote strobes in the bathrooms except for the 6 story buildings which have speaker strobes in the bathrooms
Hopefully in those 6 story building's speaker strobes in bathroom are not too loud or speaker is disabeled
When I was in school, in the hallways there were Edwards Adaptahorns and Simplex 4040 fire horns. In my condo building we have Edwards Adaptahorns. They are great for waking me up at 2 am. t work we have fire drills and a simplex system. In my vacation home, I have installed Edwards Adaptahorns.
I went to an elementary school in the late 80s and early 90s that had Edwards Adaptahorns. The school was open space, so it didn't have walls to partition the classrooms, only furniture, cabinets and bookshelves. The alarms also did not have strobes, only horns. And, they were in march time. With nothing to muffle the sound due to the open space design, everything was wide open and It was horrible when they went off. Worse was when they had to work on the fire alarm system and we had to stay in the classroom when they went off. They renovated the school in the late 90s, long after I was gone, and the fire alarms were replaced during the renovation with more ADA compliant alarms.

For fire drills at my middle school, they don’t even set the alarm off. They just make an announcement over the intercom “Attention students and staff. Attention students and staff. We are conducting a fire drill. Evacuate. Evacuate.” Or something like that and it pisses me off because I’ve never heard the alarms at the school and I only have 1 year left of school there after I finish this school year. Anyone know why they don’t set off the alarms? Also, there are 2 kids with Down Syndrome and 1 almost fully mute kid that can only say “mommy”, “meow”, and “cat”. Not sure if that’s what’s preventing them from activating the system, and I don’t see why they couldn’t activate it even if that is the cause.

You know it's sad when they set those to continuous. We hear them well enough. Don't over do it. My old highschool did that but the alarms aren't loud. We only had two of those true alerts in the bathroom. It was the only ones in the school. The rest were older simplex's.
I was using the bathroom one day, when it went off. The alarm was right across the stall I was in. I had just sat down on the toilet. And all I heard was reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I was like, "oh come on dude, i just sat down." So I hurried up and left. I was the last one out.

Mine does three beeps too. Actually, all of my schools (Elementary and Middle) did that! Also, the one time, my band class had to go to the High School to practice our music and stuff and once we got into the auditorium, the band teacher said "Ok, leave your coats on because we're having a drill. I *immediately* started crying and shaking. I didn't even have ANY headphones because they were left at the Middle School, which is across from the High School. And then one of the kids took me outside before the drill started and everything was fine after that.
