  • Phone Zombies have taken over Hotel California in this parody song. Know someone who is always on their phone? Is it making them zombie-like? Are they prisoners of their own device? Well, this song is about them. Enjoy Hotel California in a completely new way, along with a tribute to another famous song at the end. And, maybe afterwards, it might be a good idea to put the phone down for a while. 🧟♂️😆

Shirley, the line "They are all just prisoners of their own device" has to be one of the greatest social-commentary parody re-lyrics there could possibly be. The double-entendre is stunning. Another stellar achievement. And so well performed. Thanks!

Wow! Just...wow. I come in expecting a humorous parody and found a haunting commentary on our culture's phone addiction. Shirley, you are amazing!

I can't get over her writing of the lyrics and singing this rendition. Off the charts!

Words cannot express how much I love this video. I sometimes feel like I'm the only person who doesn't have a smartphone and doesn't want to be online all the time. People do look like zombies on their phones. The lyrics to this are brilliant and right on point. Excellent video, Shirley!

Great parody. The sensitivity to the poetic beat of the original lyrics, and incorporation of some of the exact wording, was masterfully done. A fine tribute to the Eagles, and an apropos social commentary. Thank you.

So true! This is becoming a real problem. Our young people are losing the art of conversation. I live near a high school. Every kid who walks past has a phone in their hand even if they’re walking with friends. So sad.

This is so sadly true. I can't remember the last time I got hugged, or had someone look me in the eyes. The older I get, the more I love my animals. They don't require bluetooth and wifi, and are much more fun and lovable.

Thankyou so much Shirley. Sadly it isn't only teenagers who are addicted to their phones but young mums who ignore babies in prams and toddlers in push chairs, robbing them of precious opportunities to learn from the very start of their young lives. When I see that I really have to restrain myself from tearing the phones out of their hands and hurling them into the nearest bush!

Another great parody Shirley. Has to be one of your best yet and the lyrics are so very true. Makes me worried about what future we are creating for ourselves.

Love both songs! Never would have thought about putting them together.....works perfectly! Love the lyrics.....until this pandemic I did not have a smart phone....stayed away from them...but unfortunately have found it necessary to have one during these times...and have found myself... to paraphrase your lyric, a bit of a ..."prisoner of my own device" brilliant by the way! Now I wonder if, and when, this is all over..if I can get rid of it! I think this was one of your best Shirley! 👍
