This is a song that sadly many of the "younger generation" will relate to! I know people who have had to take time out from work just so they could go home to get their iPhone because they could not last the day (7.5hrs) without their social media. This is a song that, although a brilliant parody, truly hits home as to how society is actually going. It still made me laugh though. Thanks, Tony. Interestingly, I know some young people who are amazing examples of leaving their phones behind while some older ones are far more addicted than they are. Perhaps it's because the younger ones were born with it, but people my age and older were adults when connectivity this way started, so maybe the novelty factor still draws many in. I don't know.

I tried & tried to record you and Eldon. But first, African Grey's are very shy about singing and talking in front of people. Secondly, I'm not all that tech savvy...I kept getting only one or the other. Ya know, he had his 15 mins of fame about 15 yrs ago (he's 22). I had a dear friend (who has since passed away) who was a morning show host on the radio. For some reason he took to the old gospel song "I'll fly away". She wanted to play him on her show. Longer story short, it was a heck of a time recording him. Finally got it, but then he had radio equipment at his disposal. 😁 It was funny. Also every morning when she opened her show she would say, "Goodmorning Eldon!" He would go crazy, screaming, "Rhonda! Rhonda!" 🤣 Sorry so long, but if I can ever manage it, I'll get it to you somehow. Thanks again for this brilliant song!! (and that line about Bumble still just kills me! 🤣🤣🤣)

I live on a mountain and one of my outages lasted 8 days. That was tough as I was also dealing with an annoying minor emergency and couldn't let anyone know, but I survived and decided that maybe people who raised carrier pigeons weren't so crazy after all. Another great Shirley parody!

I loved that as well. I'm old school and can take it or leave it as far as streaming and such but I have seen people fall apart if they are without connection for even a few minuets ;-) BTW I got here just a few minuets late as had a strong lightning storm and I usually shut everything down when that happens 🙂

I know some people rely heavily on wi-fi and internet signal and when it goes down for the count they get frustrated and maybe also a bit irate. I enjoy internet and I do use it to pay bills, shop online or socialize on Facebook. But, I also have a backup plan in place whenever my service is unavailable for some reason or another. I can always mail a check to the companies I do business with if my phone or computer isn't operational. I do miss snail mail, getting letters and cards seems to be a thing of the past since everyone does stuff online these days. Even my siblings and relatives are posting e-cards to my e-mail or onto Facebook.

I never realised how heavily we depend on wifi until it went down. Cheques aren't a thing here any more, and we're so used to getting online. Our phones go through our satellite internet because there's no coverage where we live, so it was a double whammy of isolation!
@ wowsers!! That *is* a double whammy for sure. That makes it hard when your only means of communication is your cell phone. If an emergency were to arise whether you live in the USA or in some other country, you would have to find some other method with which to contact someone or to get help. I don't know if it would work in your area, but I think it would...and that is Citizen's Band Radio (CB). My brother In Washington has one in his vehicle which can also be used in his house and he has reached people as far as Hawaii, and even further depending on the ''air'', with his 40 channel COBRA brand CB radio. I'm planning on getting myself one as well as an alternate means of communication here in California in case cell towers go down. I have internet for my computer and my cell phone is a ''cheapy'' Tracfone pay-as-you-go no-contract $15 bucks a month talk-and-text.

I can't begin to tell you how much laughter this just caused here. My roommate/best friend has been into computers since the 90s, and is online a lot - she was streaming on Twitch until some health issues interfered and she wants to get back to it. My introvert soul, on the other hand, avoids social media like it's an uninvited friend showing up. 😂 Between your voice and how hilarious and relatable your songs always are, we're both big fans who really wish we had the money for Patreon. I relate to both - I've been digitally savvy since the old box computers in the late 80s, BUT as an introvert, I'm also only on social media for the marketplace or my music related stuff. I can't begin to tell you how much laughter this just caused here. My roommate/best friend has been into computers since the 90s, and is online a lot - she was streaming on Twitch until some health issues interfered and she wants to get back to it. My introvert soul, on the other hand, avoids social media like it's an uninvited friend showing up. 😂

Shirley, you can have all the WiFi you wish for and I'd happily take nature, personal contact and intelligence anytime instead. The internet has only isolated so many, lowered IQs and taken over our lives. I can't be anymore grateful for growing up without it. Sure, it has its occasional benefits, like listening to your witty parodies with that terrific voice and online shopping, yet I have never craved it nor felt cut off without it. Yet, I can see the majority of people around the world behaving just like you did throughout the video. There are a rare few of us who can still appreciate reality and long for it back.

Hey Kris, thanks. Yes, we're in our new house and just loving it. We use our wifi to get phone connectivity as well, which means that as soon as we're outside, which is very often here, all is quiet online - bliss!
