I'd love them to try another TV series or film series adaption, so long as they're faithful to the material this time, because the books are fantastic and have great potential, but the syfy series was so disapointing.
Not me... none of those people struck me as The One for the part. I felt a lack of polish in their look. That said, the only casting "choice" I've ever had is James Frain (Odin Reichenbach on Elementary, Theo Galavan on Gotham, Eric Renard on Grimm, Chess on The Cape, etc.). Priscilla, this turned out amazing, thank you. Jim, thank you for giving us the chance to express ourselves within your world.
Rewatching this after listening to the book. Hoo boy.
I can hardly wait!
Thanks, Jim, for giving us TWO! It's been a long time.
You're the best!
I just Woo Hoo'ed so loud that my neighbor called to check on me!!!!
This trailer gave me Chills!! C'mon Netflix/Prime!! Pick it up!!
I have a feeling he had to cut Peace Talks in half. He's a prolific writer, but two books in one year after years of talking about Mirror Mirror being the book after it? Yeah, no. That sounds like he had to cut Peace Talks in half.
My thoughts exactly! And my birthday's in September. Maybe 2020 can be salvaged! :-P
I’m what you might call an unreliable narrator. :)
We'll call it a happy little accident - to quote Bob Ross. Double the Dresden goodness works for me!
@@jimbutcher5712 Oh, I know you are. I'm side eyeing the hell out of everything in that trailer, but at the same time publishers are bigger than the authors and that's the angle I was looking at this from: the publisher ordering you to cut the book in half.
@@jimbutcher5712 I'd call you an entertaining narrator ;)
I'm on my 3rd re-read of the series. I'm currently on Cold Days. I can't wait to read the next books!
This would be a "Chicago" show that I'd actually watch .
What would it be called? Chicago Magic? Chicago Wizard? Chicago Supernatural?
Chicago detective
I would love so so so much to be able to see this as a series, but I am just happy that we are finally going to get to see the book.
I don't have goosebumps, you have goose bumps. Awesome Job!!
I Cant wait for this!!!! Dresdin Files one of my top favorite books. Thank you Jim Butcher!! I hope we get more books of the dresdin files
Awesome job Priscilla. You rock.
She did amazing!
Read the book a while ago - always very dubious and skeptical about trailers of this nature- I am blown away and grateful for the casting and the production of this trailer - it is incredible.
Just a video of me with my jaw open. And, me rewinding and watching this half-a-dozen times.. OMFG.. A video trailer for an Upcoming book? Holy Friggin' Crap! Fantastic work. Wonderful casting, Amazing acting. When you don't have to wonder which character is which, just instinctually _know_ the characters as they appear? with minimal dialogue? in 3 seconds? Genius! +20 pts for spiderman song at the end ^_^
Actors that look very reasonable for the characters, participating in a trailer, that has badass quotes from the book, please please please I hope some day we will have a faithful adaptation produced, hell, even if it's like those kids did with the monty python and the holy grail recreation on youtube just out of passion for the project, that would be badass.
So NOBODY is mentioning him @0:44 seemingly getting out of bed with Macone(the baron/ crime boss)?
It's really cool reading the book and then watching the trailer to see it played out - Katalina and Adam's performances were superb
"Oh, I'm more than dumb enough." will be seen so differently by fans and those who have not read the books. It's also kinda funny that it is the most "Harry" thing in this entire trailer :P
If, whoever had cast and produced this trailer had been the showrunner for the old Dresden Files TV show... that show would still be on and entering its 14th season.
Hells Bells, double release!!!
The Butcher redeems himself with 2 books in one year.Hooked again and sooo easily.
Now they are making actual book trailers? With actors and everything? Pretty cool. This thing is going to be huge.
book trailers have been a thing for a while. most folks just don't take it to this length lmao
Absolutely great trailer, that scene with Ebenezar is spot on
Marcone's actor nails the performance.
His and mabs.. thats it. they got the body language right. and appearance. the rest, questionable.
Them: Who’s Harry Dresden?
Me: You’ve heard of Harry Potter, right?
Them: Of course.
Me: Well, Harry Dresden is who Harry Potter wants to be…when he grows up.
An ordinary potter makes ceramics that might sell in a thrift store. Dresden ceramics sell for thousands of dollars.
The Harries are related in quality in the same way.
Love the trailer, brilliant direction and sort of perfect casting for Lara.
I've watched it a few times but never to the end, brilliant post-credits scene and perfect
Jason Bernardo should play Harry in a Netflix series.
I would so watch this! I could almost recognize every character before they spoke.
Are these trailers something that's normally done?
Feels so weird seeing all the characters with faces I didn't imagine.
No. There was an unofficial trailer for Skin Games. Then this one. That's it. I'm guessing this was done as a fan favor to thank those who have patiently waited for the book. Whether or not these will become more common, I have no idea.
@@jeh32 I agree. They're still rare enough that they're going to have amateur (as in, not paid, likely) actors and it's definitely not big budget. I'll eat it up all the same!
@@MonicaTRodriguez All the actors do have iMDB entries, though, even if not very many in most cases.
@@MonicaTRodriguez It was Professional in terms of actors
@@Hornerandassociates I only meant amateur as in unpaid. But I'm glad they got paid then!
Those costumes!!! 😱💗
SO STUNNING, right?! Our costume designer, Tonya Nelson, did an incredible job. We also owe a huge debt to Kitty Krell, who created Mab's stunning gown, as well as Landon Solomon, who allowed us to borrow his Harry Dresden duster, staff, and blasting rod. Team effort!
What. WHAT? WHAT???
Two? TWO???
TWO!!!
Two!!!!!!!!!
We NEED a full TV series with this cast.
Who else wants to see this made into a full movie with the same cast??? o/
This is what I was expecting for a Dresden movie/tv series... I really hope it happens!
I'd love them to try another TV series or film series adaption, so long as they're faithful to the material this time, because the books are fantastic and have great potential, but the syfy series was so disapointing.
Not Carlos, Bad casting for Los.
Not me... none of those people struck me as The One for the part. I felt a lack of polish in their look. That said, the only casting "choice" I've ever had is James Frain (Odin Reichenbach on Elementary, Theo Galavan on Gotham, Eric Renard on Grimm, Chess on The Cape, etc.). He does not fit the physical description in the book, but I'll be damned if he isn't the person I've "seen" since Marcone was introduced. I think he'd be brilliant,
God, if only they could make these books into a faithful series!
I need a list of the actors faces next to the characters they play so I can figure out the trailer a bit better, but this is awesome!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
If you turn on closed captioning (CC), you can at least get the names of who's talking, if that helps!
@@ematuskey good tip, but who the hell is Evanna????? New character?
@@jellevanbreugel325 That's what I was wondering!
@@jellevanbreugel325 Evanna is one of the Svartalfs...from Bombshells I think
@@ematuskey thank you!
There needs to be a full series with this much attention paid to the source material.
I expected to hear "Hell's Bells"
I would LOVE a Dresden files tv series, but only a handful of beloved books have been properly adapted. GoT ( they dropped the ball in the end), LotR, maybe his dark materials( I never finished it) ?
Soooo now after reading Peace Talks...did I miss something or what? Cuz I absolutely do not remember a scene where Marcone and Harry are dressing around each other.
That scene (and the scene with Harry and Ramirez in the stairwell) are both from Battle Ground!
@@Priscellie Oh!! Thank you, Miss Priscilla! I loved Peace Talks and finished it in a day, so I was worried I missed something in my haste, haha!
Welp, now I know when I'm taking my next PTO after July :D Thank you for the lovely birthday present!!
"Boy"
Wait, that is NOT the Tall Man.
*Hoss
-there fixed it
Umm..? pretty sure that even the Tall Man wouldn't pick a fight w/Ebenezar McCoy... I mean, seriously..! that old dog doesn't play nice..!
(unless of course he had one, or a hundred of those skyscraper sized Balls... which he'd need to even ~consider~ said "scuffle..!")
@@Sidragrosm alright so yes that's ebenzar, but I have a feeling he might be all like "boy, you don't have to defy the council " I have a feeling there could be an actual fight coming between The white council and the good forces of Chicago, or everyone that Dredson trusts to be at his side, (including some who might join him from the white council, but from the trailer, probably not). This includes some faeries, mab, winter court fae, Murphy's group, the thing Dredson and his sister (?) Set up with, with the wican, accept it's all of them from everywhere. Most likely the battle will take place on the island. Michael, Murphy and the other knight will join in on the battle, as well as the new winter lady. Given to of winter are there, ( big maybe, ) than there will be lots of winter fae. Billy and the werewolves will be there, all of them. Of course, the intellectual creature from dredson and the fallen angel might play a part in this, and of course, the island creature will be a big help. Some of the white vampire court might help out, especially with muscle.
@@isleapyhunter7769 You put a lot of effort here.
@@ivanjimenez8163 maybe. It's just a theory. But looking at the trailer and the next title of the books, Battlegrounds... maybe something like a battle of Chicago will happen . And besides, I am pushing some of the alliances with Dredson a little bit. I'm telling you. Have you ever seen a TV series or book series with this many characters without having them all team up against something. Especially if they all don't trust one thing? Aka the white council? If the bomb does drop, I hope it is amazing
Cant they do the whole thing? That's fucking awesome!
Awesome! Next do a version with VO of Marsters doing all the voices and label it: Audiobook edition. 😋
I hope the audiobooks come out at the same time
@@MonicaTRodriguez Strongly agree!
OMG... can we please get a movie... i know the tv show had challenges... but i just about wet my pants watching this trailer... great job!
I'm so used to seeing Paul Blackthorne as Dresden that I didn't recognize the guy in the video at first. Blackthorne's looks exactly like I always saw Harry in my head.
I'm excited for the book, though. It's been too long.
