Guess I was spoiled by the previous games in the franchise as well as the gamescom trailers but I never really was scared of him. I was more like "This fluffy failure gets trashcanned by Rathalos? Haha, what a noob!"
Anjinath and behemoth arent the biggest, there is someone bigger than all the monsters you fight combind into one, if u know who im talking about ;) (Hint:a volcano with a face)
@@kimberlyharvey8327 To be fair, beacuse of his enormous size Zorah doesnt really have to fight against anyone. Almost seems like a peacefull monster. You dont even kill him, just make him retreat about 20 quest. And then there's Dalamadur...
Gunners should aim for his back fins when he’s enraged. They are another weak point that takes a lot of damage. Blademasters can hit them too if they can reach but Gunners will have a far easier time hitting them with bullets and arrows
Pro tip: Anjanath walks by a lot of materials used to combine for potions, and since world allows you to auto combine with 100% success you have little to no excuse to pick some of that stuff up. Just don't go full berry picker mode, you are here to hunt Anjanath you know.

There ain't enough mucinex in the world to help Dis boi's sinuses. Everytime he goes into the ancient forest he gives the place a fresh coat of nasal paint
For Anjanath, if you have weapons like the sword and shield or dual blades, force the legs to break. They become vulnerable after breaking. If it does the move where he tries to charge into you and you get hit, STAY DOWN! If you get up too quickly he'll hit you again.
I love Anja. He was my first wall, and aside from the time I hunted a tempered Kirin before hunting normal Kirin, he was never tied for length. Both at 3 days. He's a push over now, but damn do I have some love for our nasaly challenged friend
You'll start to see more pinning attacks (where you're knocked on your back and become vulnerable) at this point in the game, and you'll only find more of these moments. Your best bet to counter this is to equip and shoot a flash pod while you're pinned. The monster will stagger and you can run unscathed. If you play with a buddy, get someone to stagger them the same way or hit the monster hard for the same effect. Hope that helps folks.
Weird flex but ok. What most people find difficult is Anjanath stunlocking into instakill, which if you don't evade it in time, you just kinda die and that's it. Aside from that if you get like a bow, insect glaive or even greatsword the fight is generally pretty easy
I know I'm super late to these videos, but I've been super sick and listening to this playlist on repeat as a new MHW player is nice. Not only do I get some great memes to chuckle at despite me feeling like garbage, but I also get to be soothed by the knowledge that I can listen to Papa Gabe scream about how monsters are weak sauce and dodging is the key to live.
To me, Anjanath felt like the first 'full strength' monster. When playing with a friend our first failure was against this guy, since they got taken out by two specific attacks of his that I'm sure we all learned to fear.
Starting out Anjanath was a wall for me in low rank for a little while then high rank (albeit not as long) but the challenge is what led him to be one of my favorite monsters. Now I’m farming him for fangs to make fire weapons for iceborne
A am a qualified hunter with 700+ hours in this game. I kiled Anjanath a few dozens of times. And with all responsibility. I can tell now... YOU CAN JUST ROLL AND PUT OUT A FIRE???? AND DONT WAIT WHILE IT BURN MY BEAUTIFUL FLESH AND DRINK A GALON OF HEALING POITIONS???? WHY I DID NOT KNOW THAT???
Rolling in water puts it out immediately, it takes 3 dodge rolls to put it out normally and six Lance hops. I didn't know you could launch Waterpods at it's face to put out it's flames and I got 200 hours and probably around 20 hunts on the big guy.
These videos are great. When you finish this, and your weapons series in monster hunter, you should consider doing something similiar with other games. These are great videos
The blessed times when we were scared of this wonderful monster at the start of the game. He's so fun to fight! I really like doing hunts with two anjis. I don't know what it is about his movesets but they're just really fun to go against. Definitely worthy of the struggle bus at the start of the game though!! Certainly gave me a small headache.
This is actually the first monster I made armor from. I kinda fought it before DE TOBI KADCHI in the ancient forest on expeditions to get its armor. I died a lot. I went into its quest the first time with a full armor set of its armor.
So... story time, when I was first starting, and using the light bow gun I saw Anjanath, it was an expedition so I went for it despite the handler's many MANY warnings so I went at it with normal ammo... and ended up shooting at it until it left the area... I FEAR NO MONSTER! Now I have a nemesis in the Anjanath, I can take him out easy tho.
"Apex predator and alleged king of the skies, despite objections from the insect glaive, Rathalos" As an insect glaive main, this bit made me smile the most
I am watching these videos because they are very entertaining yet I can learn so much! Annoyingly I’m stuck with the expedition quest with the Radobaan :(
Vine traps. There are 2 natural vine traps in the area shown in 1:26. Get the Anjanath to knock down the trees covered in vines and then lure the cotton ball into it. This will act like any other trap. Good luck.

Pr0man's hint bag: The one people can struggle with for a long time. First order of business - if you can, have positive 20 fire resistance. Not only does it reduce firedamage, but also +20 means you are immune to fireblight. This can be helpful as sometimes just brushing past its fire-filled mouth can afflict you with fireblight, alongside the other issues this beast has. Eat before the hunt, the (up to) +50 health and stamina go a long way in keeping you from being instant-killed. This might be the time to clear out side-objectives to fill out the canteen, go exploring for account items (tough-skinned fruit, round cactus etc.), as _every_ level 2 and 3 collectable is also a food ingredient at the canteen in order to ensure the +50 to hp/stam before a fight without having to down a max potion. Learn your weapons favoured positions. blunt weapons generally go for the head, sever weapons for the tail. Anjanath is the first of many monster which has weakpoints that are not easily reached. This requires you to damage its legs in order to get it to flinch or trip. Blunt weapons generally have an easier time when it comes to this. Ranged users might wish to start with an alpha strike, either by using wyvernheart/snipe, clusters or any preffered ailment like paralyze and poison alongside the big guns. If this thing makes you struggle, do not be afraid to call help using an SOS-Flare (done using the standard radial menu bottom option or via the esc. menu) - This feature exists for a reason. If you wish to go down the elemental route of your enemies, be prepared to collect many different elemental weapons for your preferred weapontype. *"I believe at that point in the game, bone armor would be helpful"* I'll go a step further, here's a tip for new players: Bone armor can carry you through pretty much the entirety of Low Rank! Its elemental resistances are great, it's easy enough to craft and it has a few reasonably useful skills on it. (Horn Maestro especially for us dooters) That's not to say you should never craft monster gear from other beasts, but you don't have to use anything else if you just keep throwing armor spheres into your Bone Armor, not until High Rank.
Something I used to do with Anjy was take advantage of the fact that: A) He shows up early on expeditions B) Expeditions have infinite carts+resources Because Anjy HAS this early game appearance, AND can be slain (with enough practice, skill, determination and effort), you can doff some decent enough bone+kulu yaku armor, go after him, and pound him into the floor. Many environmental traps and hazards are there to help you speed this along, so even early game kit can whack him. And the reward? Surprisingly powerful weaponry and armor that is super effective against early game cast. Some of that kit can be tailor-made to carry your kit to early High Rank. Anjy’s Leggings give Artillery, which boosts Charge Blade Impact Phials and Gunlance Shelling attacks. You can also get fantastic stamina-saving skills from both some of his other armor pieces AND his armor set skill. This is INVALUABLE for stamina hog weapons like Dual Blades and Bow. Plus, all of it has pretty stellar physical defense for early game. All technicalities aside, I just want to say that it’s amazing that Anjy is available as early as he is. Before Defender Weapons made this a moot point, I adored the idea of being able to challenge later-game monsters with early game kit, using my wits, experience, and determination to whittle them down, then clawing apart their hides to make WAY stronger weaponry than the early game was EVER prepared for you to have. I wish more Monster Hunter games would adopt the idea…

Rathian: Flash pods will knock her out of the sky. This trick works on any flying monster except Lunastra, who merely flinches.
No, wrong info. Luna doesn't flinch, she gets PISSED and launches her Supernova attack. Get the hell out of the zone IMMEDIATELY and if you can't, down an Immunizer or Astea Jerky ASAP to keep the health drain from killing you!
otakon17 I was meaning in general.
This was a good idea for you to do
I love these ♡ keep it up mah boi
Pretty cool how his ash breath can burn you but a rathian fireball doesnt burn as often
"DUDE THAT THINGS LIKE HALF CHICKEN HALF BIRD HALF T-REX"
"You do realise that's 3 halves"
Back in the old days, the trial by fire for all beginning monster hunters was a colorful bird with a trumpet for a nose or in the MH2 and MHFU, a Tiger T-rex cross breed.
now, it's a sneezing T-rex, oh how I love the new generation
Anjanath will always be my first wall. First time I lost a hunt. Multiple times. I love him so much
Because of this video I was able to slay Anjanath before I even took the main quest to slay it. It was cool to be able to say that I hunted it before i even had to. And now that I'm past Anjanath I basically hunt it each time I ever see it.
"people before struggled with anjanath for days before"
*me, a new person to MHW and MH in general*
I beat him second try. and I barely count first one as I used a elemental heavy bowgun. I learned my mistake
