The entire MH community whenever someone starts their first MH game: "We will watch your career with great interest"
So true, it’s why I’m here I just want to see him play more mh it’s always such a treat watching someone new.
As a veteran hunter, we welcome any new hunters to try MHW.
Goodluck and have fun.
If it is too much for you, use the SOS and the cavalry will follow.
Most accurated comment
it is entertaining in a most endearing manner.
is that fucking sygg
Bro tried the Charge Blade and dropped a few Super Amped Elemental Discharges and couldn't let go of it anymore. The story of every CB main, Welcome to the club 😂

I'm curious how he'll react to the savage axe mode😂
@@onetokatman7293 I'm current testing out savage axe mode offstream, its definitely more consistent... I kinda like

@@Quoisboy I can’t give up Axe hopper though…then Sunbreak gave us switch scrolls and I feel like a god 😜
rookie players: oh god its an Anjanath
veteran players: oh god its an Anjanath
For me that's the devil jho. Still dread it to this day.
Nah Deadly Pickle takes the cake. Anjanath has nothing on traps and flashbugs.
As a melee player, that is how I feel about Bazel. It's my favorite in MHW but is also a massive pain in the ass.
nah the kulu ya ku is a monster
That's Odogaron for me. He's not hard to deal with but it's like. Don't do this. Not right now.
Pro tip: if you sprint away from a monster while weapon is sheathed and press the dodge button, you will do what we call a superman dive, this dive has invincibility frames DURING THE ENTIRE DIVE! This has saved many a hunter.
nergegante dive dodging be like,
Or he could use the shield a charged shield has guard 2 and if u guard point it has guard 3 built in thats why alot of CB sets only has guard 1 even in end game
Watching someone enjoying monster hunter is a such a treat
It's always fun to see someone new getting into Monster Hunter
Hope this becomes a series and we see more from your journey!
yeah
Seeing someone new to the franchise both puts a smile on my face and makes me want to no-life the game. 🙃
@@thren914 world was my first introduction to monster hunter,, then seeing the graphics in the other games made me just want to stick to world
Heeeey
I remember how scared I was when I first fought Anjanath. I remember people saying that it's the first skill check monster in the game. I was also really excited when I beat it for the first time. Now I just know Anjanath as Angie.
I take every opportunity to show that over grown lizard maximum disrespect. Not because I hate it I just really don't like its additude.
Ahh yes angie and then The Angry Pickle next 😂
@@reanukeeves3692 Ah, I know him as Pickle Joe. But do you remember the B-54 bomber dragon that randomly interrupts your fights? 🤣

Also massive respect for learning and trying the charge blade. Those guard Point into "BIG ATTACK" is such a dopamine rush and what charge blade mains live for.
Yeah charge blade is a lot of work to master. I'm a Greatsword main myself, GS is fairly challenging to master but all the basics are very simple, it's just a timing thing.
Bro, can you teach me why my charge blade always got deflected even though i already use my whetstone? i just started. Thanks!
@@perkedel7558if you overcharge the vials to red you will deflect your attacks
@@perkedel7558 sometimes parts of the monster are too tough to cut through and your weapon will bounce even when you sharpen. Later in the game you will unlock weapons with higher sharpness levels like white or purple and these will wont bounce off most monsters. However, some parts of monsters are still to tough and you must focus on the 'weak' parts to deal more damage. Good luck with charge blade, it is my favourite weapon and worth mastering!
@@aaravtribhuvan6747 pretty sure, what he was asking about was because he didn't charge his phials, and his blade became red from overcharging, which makes you bounce 24/7 unless you have minds eye.
Anjanath is often considered "The first wall" for new players he's juuust at the edge of skill level of players reaching that point and the purpose for it is basically a shakedown. It gets players to actually take things seriously, knocks loose any bad habits, and does players what they're in for as they continue to play the game. Defeating him for the first time is one of those moments in the game that make you feel so hype, and it's why I love this game so much. When things go right it feels so good.
i saw it the first time and went "oh shi a fucking t rex" then after running a few meters turned around to make a scarf mostly cause i play like gremlin and just wanted to see if it could be done it wrecked me at first but then i finally did it only to find out id eventually have to hunt it. the real wal was that gadayum diablos that digging mf horned lizard goat was pure rage
@@blankill226my first play through I saw it 3 times first time did enough damage for the health to be 2/3 then second time again left him with 1/3 health and when the quest finally came my gear was better it's already pretty much low health and easy please lemon squeeze lol but yeah kinda was surprised when he started shooting fire balls at me lol
@@blankill226 God, Diablos kicked my _ass_ when I first fought him. But fucking Kushala was the biggest pain in the ass to fight, I swear to God.

Personally, I prefer Dual Blades because I'm not playing MH to keep track of Spirit Gauges or Phials, I play it to have fun.
@@jahrusalem3658 I play monster hunter to hit thing with big sharp stick - GS main
As a Charge Blade main, I like to say that learning the weapon isn't as difficult as people make it out to be. Yes, the weapon places a ton of options at your disposal, but it's really about learning the core concept behind the weapon.
Bonus fun fact:
- Sharpening your weapon in tall grass actually DOES count as hiding in grass.
im restarting world and trying out the charge blade.. my problem is charging the blade after the shield is charged.. thats the main part im fucking up in. 🤔
@@jabbawookeez01after charging the shield hold triangle/Y to charge the blade
@@jabbawookeez01 just hold the button when storing your phials instead of a single press, and it'll go from the phial-storing and into the condensed element slash(which empowers the sword)

It's currently the best time to play MHW this few months with the surge of players going back to MHW, and now new players trying out the game through Monster Hunter: Wilds. Hope you enjoy your time Hunter! Happy Hunting!
you're not suppose to fight the rathian. i remember driving her off when i first played this but then i did something very foolish in the same quest. i go cocky so i went to the other side of the map, got 1 shot, came back, saw the diablos that killed me but this time i died trying to take a closer look. i thought he was going to be my nemesis after that, when i was suppose to fight them, anjanath and rathalos gave me more trouble than diablos. ah, the memories.
I was bloodthirsty at that time lol I stood no chance, but now I can beat her no problem
You might No supposed to but you can doit anyway having the rath longsword and armor so early in the game is a Blast
@@TREE3301 i'm curious how the first hunt for the other 2 monsters i mentioned went.
@@drpepp. that was mainly just a funny story of early game over confidence that hilariously got me killed twice that i look back on fondly to this day. like the time in Sunbreak, with my first MR crimson glow hunt, where after i was pretty drunk from a party that night, my friend who was a noob with Rise asked me if i was up for doing that hunt with him. i foolishly played drunk HH with no healing songs. that also got me killed twice but he did a great job so we still won the first hunt.
@@jockpackage1770 You mean Diablos and Rathalos? I haven't fought them yet
there's something so special and endearing about watching someone play monster hunter for the first time
Congratulations on beating the Anjanath wall! I'm also glad you figured out the trick is to just wait for the monster to come back down, otherwise you tend to just Chase each other up and down and they win that.
This might be the most honest first experience into Monster Hunter I've seen lol. We all I'm sure went through the same experience on our first Monster Hunter game.
CB is my first weapon and still my main to this day after 3 years. It is always fun to watch people pick up the weapon for the first time.
I hope this becomes a series ! :')
It actually pays to learn multiple weapons, some monsters are a nightmare to fight with charge blade. I myself used charge blade and Longsword, LS for faster moving monsters and CB for slower moving monsters.
lol I only use hammer and hammer alone. Unless forced
I just use the greatsword and even some monsters are really too fast, when I land those big charge attacks on them damn it feels good
charge blade is my main but I am also familiar with glaive and gunlance
Kushla is a massive bitch to fight unless you use a ranged weapon
@@kaden-sd6vbSame the exact same in fact ..😂
anja was well designed to be the first "wall" for people new to the franchise
Nice to see more new folks hopping on the Monster Hunter train. Videos like these always bring back fond memories, I hope this becomes a series 👍
Impressive how quickly you learned the charge blade. Pretty good attack placements shortly after picking it up. Well done!
the mh streams are so fun im glad youre making highlights of it!!
Bro watching you get chased by Anjanath looked so stressful. It brought up repressed memories from when I fought my first 3-star monster... Tigrex from MH Freedom 2 😂
It's so good to see someone starting out at MH. Seeing someone discovering everything for the first time and having fun after a difficult achievement.
Ok so as a fellow Bug-Stick Shaman, I have to gove some advice. You want to collect all 3 buffs as often as possible(Red White Orange) it keeps you with Attack Speed and Defense buffs.
You can also collect red and white and as it's about to go collect orange to keep the buffs lasting longer for the attack. It's something alot of speedrunners do
Do you play on PC? I struggle to understand when it will give me extra buff effect stamina or the bug icon next to buffs appears and turns red. Sometimes the buttons i use work and sometimes they don't. What am I doing wrong?
@pinguke123 No sorry console. The buffs have a flashing effect when they're expiring. There's 2 buffs for the bug and 3 buffs for you. The bug buffs are when you feed it Slinger ammo, the buffs for you are when the bug hits the monster and returns to you.
@@sanguinetales you just made it click in my head with the slinger ammo, thank you!!!!
I remember when I played mh world...
I didnt like how the weapons' animations would delay your movement and by chance I found the bow,
The dash mechanic with the bow was like heaven to me in this game and actually made it enjoyable to play aggressive close combat. yes, I used a ranged weapon right in their faces and it was enjoyable too! I love the variety of weapon choices in this game, because if not for the bow I would've quit
Welcome to MH! It’s never an easy series to get into, and it’s full of walls and surprises, but it’s had my soul in an iron grip for more than a decade. May you find joy in this game, and I hope you decide to continue with the series!
Great run!
MH do have s, but most of them are pretty tight, also depends on how you dodge either superman dive (the longest ), roll (standard dodge & distance), and hop (super short dodge distance, lance can do extended back hop tho). If you want a longer , I suggest using armor sets/deco with evade window skill to increase (I believe lv3+ is similar to standard dark souls ). But alone can be unreliable sometimes because some monsters have wide attacks/combo. To mitigate this you can use evade extender which extend your dodge distance. This two skills kinda bonkers for newcomers who like to dodge instead of block imho
On advantage of world is that these skills are easy to obtain with enough grinding
Back here in the old world I could never slot those in unless I use narga armor
As a switch axe user, my dodges are extremely short distance, so I almost always run Evade Extender. Not only does it help me avoid attacks, but it helps me position myself better with hitting or catching up to monsters.
or you can just... get out of the way...
@@darkigor20 NNNNNAAAAAAAAAAA that's boring
I love seeing the genuine rush of excitement from someone finally beating a tough wall.
Hope this feeling stays with you for the rest of your time playing this.
14:22 Perfectly executed - That's how Chargeblade suppose to be!!
This is the best time to be introduced to Monster Hunter because MH Wilds is coming out in 2025.
You are actually very good for someone new with Charge Blade, one tip I have is to cancel your "big attack" with a "large attack" by doing back+Triangle during the big attack animation if you are too close to the monster or if you don't have full phials.
As a charge blade enjoyer myself, this makes me giggle everytime he yells BIG DAMAGE. Great stuff.
Anjanath is a really good wall for new players. If you can beat Anjanath, you can beat the rest of the game. The big pink t-rex cat has everything. He's tough, he's rough and he don't take no shit.
Congratulations on beating him. I'd love more videos on your journey through World and Iceborne.
Nergigante says No 😂
Devil jho:?
13:02 The i-frames are *REALLY* small on most dodges. There are armor skills that improve the distance of the dodge and the i-frame time though. The only dodge with a good amount of i-frames is the "Superman Dive" when you sheathe your weapon and run away from the monster, flinging yourself to the ground.
Congrats on beating Anjanath! Hope to see more MHW from you in the future!
As a charge blade main is simultaneously immensely frustrating and satisfying. Luckily though as you play the game more you get to learn which attacks give you a large enough opening to slam a SAED into them which is always satisfying.
Great job! I've been playing MH for years and I'm always happy to see new hunters trying. I hope you will continue your journey and find the joy in the hunt as you get better gear and a better understanding of the great beasts you hunt. ❤❤❤
You made a video of it? Let’s go! Thanks for making this, the stream of it was so fun to watch, too!
Yup Anjanath is the first wall. You have i-frames when you roll but Anjanath's charge attack is multiple attacks.
4:04 has got to be my favorite moment so far cause of the perfectly cut scream
On the one hand, I'm sad to see you ditch the Insect Glaive, but I'm still glad you ended up loving the Charge Blade! (me and my main MonHun friend's main weapons, haha) That's probably what I like best about Monster Hunter, is how depending on the weapon you pick, the way you need to approach combat completely changes, haha.
I really love your excitement with the charge blade and it's really joyful to watch you. Tried this weapon, too and must say it's a fun way to play.
Yes! Would lo love to see more. Hope you finish the game and hopefully go to the expansion as well. New hunters are always welcome.
This better be a series! Also try the hunting horn if you wanted to play with a musical hammer that buffs you ❤❤❤
Yooo! It's always great to see newcomers to Monster Hunter :D
Welcome to the Guild and keep up the hunts!
Also the Anjanath struggle is real o.o"
I love this, keep going, hope you enjoy the hunts
Welcome to the series! Love the "big attack time" fails, joy of MH 😂
Maan, it always makes me so happy to see a new player enjoy the game! I rber when i started playing, the satisfaction after each successful hunt.. Hope you have a lot of fun playing thru! Also check out the dlc if you want, it sure is worth its price!

I woyld without a doubt subscribe to watch more of your Monster Hunter journey! -Sincerely, a MH veteran who doot doots.
Always awesome to see more people getting into this incredible series! If you get the chance theres a video called The Artful Dodger for MHW that goes over iFrames and how they work in world that helps a ton! Cheers and looking forward to seeing more!
Dude this was so entertaining this is the first video of yours that ive seen im def subscribing I hope to see more mhw.
Anjanath teaches people one important thing: Stop pressing buttons. MH isn't a hack 'n slash game.
Lovely video!
I too knew I was addicted when I went on hunts in my dreams XD
Always glad to see a new hunter enjoy the experience and good job clearing your first wall
I agree with so much of the comments, i also reacently picked up MHW and its been a blast.
Hope we can see some more from u, its so fun to watch
You have done well my friend, welcome to MH.
It's always good to see a new hunter!!
May you hunt with honor and faint with glory!!! 💪
New to your channel but love seeing new MH players explore the games
It’s always a pleasure to see a new hunter starting out on what’ll hopefully be a long and fun adventure. Being that it’s the job of veterans to look out for and teach new hunters, we’ll be here if you need any tips/advice (and drop in to clean house if you fire an SOS)
Quick tip, if you get knocked down to the floor, and you see a monster about to attack… stay on the floor, you are immune to damage during this time. Then get up when the coast is clear
Congratz on beating your first wall. No matter which game or monster, that's always the make or break moment for new players.
You picked up on the core of the combat quite quickly. Positioning, exploiting opportunities, and risk management. Practice, patience, and basic buffs are all that you should need to succeed for quite a while.
Also, i-frames are tight. 13 frames on the roll at 60fps means you can't i-frame through big or long attacks. Dodging while sprinting away from a monster gives you a diving dodge with a massive invincibility window.
Happy hunting!
Damn, you got the hang of the CB pretty fast imo. Props 🎊🍻
Some useful information! Remember to check with the research dudes by the main gate in Astera. They have bounties you can complete for extra materials and you can unlock additional fast travel camps when you report their location in an expedition. You just need to head to its location and it will give you a critical bounty when you return to Astera.
Another thing! Be sure to gather at unique locations that provide research points. A lot of these plants provide additional food items some of which can be useful! Happy hunting!! 😁😁
The MHW Wiki has loads of information about this stuff so it doesn't hurt to Google if something is confusing or not made clear in the game!
I really enjoyed the sword/shield, hammer, and hunting horn this next time im gunna use the long or great sword i think, always good seeing someone new try the game, plenty of us would be down to help you on monster fights. 😊
186 hours in as a charge blade main and I can't believe I never thought of using back-rolls to space myself for SAEDs.
impressed with how quickly you learned CB. could really see the "flow" of charge blade starting to come out during that last anjanath fight.
woaaah he actually made a compilation xD can't wait for the continuation to your hunter arc my dude
Man I love watching someone going through their first journey in MHW it's just so nostalgic.
Can't wait for the next MHW videos. You have a great start to play this game!!
Damn it's actually really impressive how well you did with the Charge Blade from the start good job
This man just started his first game, and already figured out SAED, guard point, and using the sliding slash to position for big hits. Man is a legend
Great video!
I love how this video perfectly encapsulates charge blade players. I feel like a lot of people think charge blade players are like galaxy brain, memorize pdfs of information, perfectly plan out your hunt type players. But in reality we all just keep thinking "BIG ATTACK TIME?!?!" over and over again and that fuels us enough to keep playing the weapon
Love seeing people experience MH for the first time. It's like listening to Tool, where you're slightly sad knowing you'll never have that experience again, so seeing someone else have it is always a treat.
great to see a new hunter join us, good luck with the rest :)
As someone who mains both IG and CB, the SAED is still one of the most satisfying feelings ever lol
You'll never forget the first time you land a SAED perfectly, or do a sick guard point into one. Feels good man
I've been playing this game for years and I only just beat the Iceborne story XD The charge blade is easily my favorite weapon, I'm happy to see you're enjoying it
gotta love the landing the big attack time hell yeah!
I would love to experience MHW for the first time again ❤
We need more monster hunter videos this was SICK! ❤
Good job. Charged Blade is one of the most complex weapons because of the phial store and release mechanic, but once you get the hang of it it's just doing two or three rotations before releasing the big attack.
Here’s interaction to boost this video because it’s always great to see people pick up mon hun.
Btw Bug and Baguette (insect Glaive) is my favorite weapon
Dude CB is cool looking, might need to try it, might like it along with my LS and GS
Started this game a few days ago and now its all i watch/play, i am addicted to this game that does nothing but kick my ass over and over
My best friend made a streaming series of him teaching me this game. I became obsessed and we convinced two other friends to try this game. Now I am teaching one of them this game. It really is interesting to watch new hunters learn this and grow in the game!
Hey btw, by default you have like 1/16 of a frame of s when you dodge without any investment in evade window. Most of monster hunter incentivizes you to dodge away to reposition instead of dark souls dodging into attacks
Good to know. Never played dark souls, I was dodging like it was genshin impact
you got the basics of charge blade really fast congrats
Ohhhh boy. I'm beyond impressed he stayed with it. It's the most... hard-to-master weapons in the series. But when it is handled properly, oooooh boy.
Lovely video.
Yo this was funny and I loved that you showed JoCat’s Crap Guide video for charge blade lol. He is the best ❤
I really hope you keep playing, I can never catch any streams of any content creators ever so i have to rely on RUclips
I’m happy you went with charge blade it’s my favorite
"Am I not supposed to attack this?"
*The sound of regret*
Man i love that charge blade. Learning curve got me bc i never played a game like this before. Once i got it down i never went back to any other weapon
When you dodged the Anjanaths roar on one of your attempts I felt something and I’m like “this is the one” cuz you ever have those moments where you randomly do good/cool moments after a bunch of fails? Glad to see the glory of MH spread
Guard pointing and jsut unleash a instant Super Amped to the monster face is probably the best feeling that i got in world.. im now player tho, right now im also in love with rise's HH.
The classic Anjanath experience. We all went through it.
I must have somewhere around 5k hours in all MH games I've played so far but I'll always remember beating my first big roadblock monster. In my case it was Uragann, absolute core memory moment! I love seeing others achieve that too!
Rewatching this and remembering fondly the massive wall that Anjanath presented when first playing World. Good times
You're a real one for having enchanted love as your outro
These streams where so fun to watch
I'm 800 hours deep and I haven't grasped how to use Charge blade yet, well done!
