Weirdest skateboard for me would be the one BMW made back in the early 2000s. As far as inventions go you guys could probably do one on Skateboard trucks. There's the Tarantula trucks, lowered skateboard, avenue skateboard trucks(suspension trucks), and probably many more you guys can dig up. On a side note, did Canadians invent snowskating? The snow skate is the real life example of how desperate us Canadians get to skate in the winter time. Also, raddest thing about the folding longboard is that even if you get mad enough that you wanna focus it, it just folds and doesn’t break. The session never ends! What a life saver 💯

When I was a kid my local shop had a log on trucks behind the counter. Also pretty sure they had a giant flip flop setup too. I was thinking about setting up something random as a deck.
I remember a board type that had this front steering part or back as there were two or more brands making them, made more for Downhill skateboard that was this weird board you steered with your foot. there were a few models like this with some boards working better than others but often since most of the models were really cheap, the wheels/bearings got replaced with often trucks too getting replaced for good steel if they did not have the stiff steel design. Playschool made a board later copied by other cheap brands with better trucks wheels & bearings that had a that was for kids that would be a scooter for those who do not have the coordination yet but for slightly older kids the handle would flip down either into the board, be a part of the deck, or in only one model be fully removable screwed in deal from same company that later sold the Shread boards. These were a cool concept for getting kids into skateboarding.
Dude what about the Snakeboard???? I use to kill it at the park with this thing, still got one and can shred….. a lil I’m old lol!!! Anyways I’d love to get your take on this species of skateboarding!
Some company made a board that sold only at the poser super--emo punk clothing store Claire. This skateboard was designed to where the board was just like a regular skateboard in the 2000's but like a 3/4 size board including the trucks and wheels. The wheels were small enough at 30 mm unlike the 50-60 mm most people used with 45 about as small as wheels really got so if you hit any kind of very small rock/large pebble momentum died. the Board at first always was sold with a purse like semi open case to carry the board around but if a teen boy/adult male bought the board, they often just gave the purse to a goodwill/Salvation Army like thrift store. Claire stopped about a year into selling as even with Teen age girls/adult women the purse was not worth selling with the board and had the purse thing as an option. I know since I saw a few people bought the $25 board to see if it was any good, those who did skate and yes, the bord worked fine but what at least 2--3 of them did if they kept the skateboard/did not break it was drill new holes in the top for good better quality full sized trucks & wheels to have this ultra short mini double kick board for doing insane flip tricks without having momentum be stopped by the stupidly small wheels.
That giant Dyrdek board is pretty legit, but technically Foundation did it first. See the 'Duty Now For The Future' video. So, he stole the idea, and therefore deserves zero credit.
man, roller racer was legit tho. we used to ride them on the neighbor's 7 1/2 foot vert half pipe riding it on our knees instead of sitting. used to get pretty crazy with it actually. big wheels too. my friends little brother rode his big wheel knee style on that vert ramp and was able to pump the transition to get up to thr vert section. it was that innocent ballsyness that only exists before a person has experienced their first hardcore eat it.

Uh that Ski Skate the odd middle people did ride it like a set of skis if under 200 pounds or 90 kilograms. The Ski Skate was made by a skier who could not ski as much as he liked when he moved from a cold place to California, so he made this to do his sport more not having to go to Lake Tahoe in the winter. The other thing was this board was made before the rollerblade wheels/foldable scooter wheels on the Cross Country type of skis made for summer use, so it was impossible for the guy to get those. This was even before people took often an old pair of cross country skis in the early 1990's and attached skateboard/rollerskate wheels to the skis they used to keep training in the summer.
