She's really underrated. I agree this album might have some skips though, but transitioning from Halcyon's dark vibes to this it shows she has a lot of versatility that no one credits.
Yes she is super versatile , Lights was a Folk-EDM with some Björkish doping then Halcyon which is pure,raw,melancholic vocals with an EDM touch. Then pure moving into mainstream Pop Delirium, and now R&B,Folk,EDM Brightest Blue!! She possess the extraordinary ability to use her vocals in every genres.

I have genuinely always thought of this album as pure POP perfection cause that’s exactly what she intended! I also think it’s such an underrated album in the sense that there’s so much potential for it being the perfect commercially popular pop album. She’ll always be true to herself, while also showcasing just how versatile she is all at the same time. I highly recommend Halcyon Days or Halcyon (Deluxe Version) !
I can't agree that "what she intended ". Mainstream pop is not her genre and Delirium is that album of which Ellie herself is not proud of and often revealed in interviews that she "hated" several songs of it because of those cheap quality lyrics (not written by Ellie) , also this album is thought to be one of the causes of her five year long Imposter syndrome or depression . Maybe Delirium kinda albums are more appealing to the mass audience but not for singers like Ellie Goulding. Yes I agree with you - "She'll always be true to herself while also......" . But I think pop is not her genre, she grew listening to Björk, Joni Mitchell,Nirvana that's why she was made for Folktronica,EDM,Classical and R&B.

Regarding the Weeknd collab, it's rumoured that Ellie asked Abel to collaborate with her on the opening track to Brightest Blue "Start". However, it didn't happen and she collabed with serpentwithfeet instead. It's also interesting to note that both Ellie and The Weeknd got a huge hit from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack: Ellie with "Love Me Like You Do" and Abel with "Earned It".
About the Weeknd collab, Ellie covered his song 'High for This'. but its only on the UK version of her second album
This disc has a deluxe version with 6 new tracks, "Winner", "Paradise" are my favorite

Yes, but that's not an "Ellie Goulding song" but surely a Pop perfection. I don't like that song personally. Ellie's lyrics are her Trademark and that song was just a commercially produced cheap quality pop song. Lights,Halcyon,Brightest Blue are the real Ellie Goulding thing . Hope you understand it being a Gouldigger 😊🙏

The Target Exclusive edition has 25 tracks 😅 but regardless it's still one of my favorite albums of the last decade, all 25 songs.

I would really love to see a halcyon / halcyon days reaction videos, as I think you will like that album more since its prodominantly her 'signature' sound throughout, and the album itself is a bit more cohesive overall.

Haha, seeing you fanboy-ing for late 2000 pop base line 😁 Ellie Goulding did great delivering on her songs here, but Robyn and later Carly Rae Jepsen just do it to perfection. (I.e your Typ, run away with me by CRJ, indestructible, hang with me, cry when you get older by robyn and if you wanna go pure elevated pop listen to Honey by Robyn which came out in 2018 🍯💛🧡)

I agree that "Intro+Aftertaste" is a masterpiece. Her opening songs are very good; Don't Say a Word, Intro, Start.
"Something-in-the-way you move" is a sister song to "Love Me Like You Do" (same rhyme)
She was born in a countryside. And "Lost And Found" is about a country girl returning home and reuniting with her long lost lover.
Speaking of Keep on Dancin', in a version of "Guns and Horses" there too is a cute giggle at the end.

Delirium is what Reputation wanted to be. Criminally underrated album.
Reputation is literally so different from delirium. Delirium is more light, reputation is way darker, honest and versatile. I love both albums but I have to say i like rep more than delirium.

I am satisfied by your analysis but I will like to tell that many of her albums are long probably because of the Label's decision to make it a commercial success just like the inclusion of EG.O (her alter ego which is her outer attire towards the society as a popstar) in the BRIGHTEST BLUE which tells about her inner journey during her post Delirium days suffering from betrayals, breakups, Imposter syndrome and depression. I can clearly say that the TWO ALBUMS of 2020 BRIGHTEST BLUE and FOLKLORE are in sync the former being an inner journey & the later as an escape to the outer 💙

A curious fact is that that album in an interview said she wasn't comfortable with this genre :(
This album was not by her heart , the label and producers forced her to do so. In the beginning as she was new in the industry she didn't confess that to the public, but now in many of her interviews she revealed that she hates the Delirium's songs and the lyrics. Also it was one of the causes of her five year long Imposter Syndrome,depression,panic attacks. Read the Article by BBC, " I'd just become a robot". She remained as one of the biggest global superstar but behind the curtains things weren't all right.

Esse é o álbum que menos gosto dela porque é muito genérico! E obviamente tbm é o álbum mais bem sucessedido dela, o " Brightest blue" merecia o sucesso que foi esse álbum. Mesmo assim tem músicas ótimas " Dont need nobody " deveria ter sido um single a melhor do Álbum. Ellie está muito injustiçada atualmente mas nessa era ela foi tudo e merece reconhecimento novamente!

Delirium isnt ellies signature/originsl style which is why ppl tend to hate on it. But if u put that aside, this album doenst have a song that couldnt play on the radio or be a single. It is a very very strong pop album. Very mainstream but very strong mainstream album.
