Mr Green is my favorite in every ending. Michael McKean is so jumpy and with a constant dry sass that cracks me up. He's so funny when Tim is dragging him around for the finale, only to get some revenge in the C ending. With the revolver, in the foyer.
I watched Clue in the theaters on the opening weekend. The ending on that viewing was the Mrs. Peacock one. People started to complain to theaters about not knowing which ending was playing where, so in the later weeks, the movie listings would put "Clue A", "Clue B" or "Clue C" in the listings, so people would know which ending they missed if they wanted to go see it multiple times. I didn't see the other 2 endings until Clue was out on video for rentals, years later.
I only saw one ending, but that was because I watched it on VHS, and the tape ran out at the end. I just thought that was how the movie ended! Also, as much as I love Tim Curry, Mrs. White's "Flames on the side of my face" is the best part of the whole movie.
@@3DJapan If you want to see him young watch One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Both Chirstopher Lloyd and Danny Devito look quite a bit younger than they do in Taxi, even though it starts 3 years later.
Absolute favorite movie ever! I've seen this movie at least 90 times since I was 8 or 9. The dialogue is hilarious - just absolutely genius writing. It's such a quotable movie. My favorite conversation has to be: The Chief: Good evening. Have you ever given any thought to the kingdom of Heaven? Mrs. Peacock: What!? The Chief: Repent. The kingdom of heaven IS at hand. Miss Scarlet: You ain't just whistlin' Dixie. The Chief: Armageddon is almost upon us. Professor Plum: I got news for you - it's already here! Mrs. Peacock: Go away! The Chief: But your souls are in danger! Mrs. Peacock: Our lives our in danger, you beatnik! or Professor Plum: What are you afraid of? A fate worse than death? Mrs. Peacock: No, just death. Isn't that enough?
This is one of the best ensemble comedies out there, with 8 of the best comedic talents of the time (6 players, Wadsworth and Yvette) in the central roles without having anyone whose celebrity at the time would unbalance the interest of viewers. The chief was a cameo from Howard Hesseman in an uncredited role, at the time best known for WKRP in Cincinnati. Many of the actors were in other projects together in smaller groups as almost all of them were the go to cast for comedy in the 80s and 90s.
"You lure men to their deaths, like a spider with flies!" "Flies are where men are most vulnerable!" 🤣🤣🤣 An all time classic of clever wordplay, campy pratfalls, and some of the funniest line delivery ever. I can unfortunately recite the whole movie almost from memory having watched it so many times 😅 but I still love watching it. For another fast paced clever comedy with Tim Curry 😉 - Oscar, with Marissa Tomei and Sylvester Stallone.
Clue is designed like a stage play in many ways and the dialogue has a quick ensemble tempo that does well even as acting exercises. Best of luck convincing your troupe
in high school, i auditioned to be Miss Scarlet, but everyone said I was goign to be Yvette 'cause of my big boobs haha so i was, & i got to wear a $500 custom-made maid outfit & was understudy to Miss Scarlet we had an awesome time ☺
This film is a perfect example of one that was disappointing at the box office when originally released, but became more appreciated over time. On top of that, not all theatres that screened the film got the same ending.
I only got to see this on home video when having a VHS player was a middle class status symbol and video rental stores weren't even a thing yet, at least in my area. This was my first exposure to the idea that there could be multiple versions of the same film. I was a kid and only found out years later about how moviegoers might not know which ending they would get to see. Hell, I only became aware of the board game after i saw the movie! It continues to boggle my mind that an 80s movie based on a BOARD GAME is more creatively inspired and entertaining than subsequent studio attempts to create films based on video games, comic books, and theme park rides! Kudos to all involved for bringing their A-game to this production which must've seemed like a silly idea on paper. And RIP to Martin Mull.
Everyone that saw this in the 80's instantly recognized Howard Hessman from the TV show WKRP In Cincinnati where he played a rock DJ, if you've never seen it I would highly recommend the Thanksgiving episode "Turkeys Away" S1E7, it's a classic not to be missed.
Several people have recommended Murder By Death (which is also funny) but not sure you'd get the references being spoofed without seeing a few other movies first. My recommendations are below. The Thin Man (1934) Murder On The Orient Express (70's) A Charlie Chan movie A Miss Marple movie The Maltese Falcon (Humphrey Bogart)
Green: "I was going to expose you." Wadsworth: "I know. So, instead, I choose to expose myself." Mustard: "Please, there are ladies present." 😂😂😂 One of my favorite exchanges.
Wonderful reaction Angel sweetie!! This movie is so great and very funny! Tim Curry as Wadsworth was awesome, however Christopher Lloyd As Professor Plum was my favorite!! The whole cast was top tier!! Your sense of humor and the joy you have for movies is always a treat to watch!! You are amazing and beautiful, I Love your hair so much also!! Best wishes and much love always!! 🙂❤
The brilliance of this film is that any guest could be the murderer. It was designed that way. It has 3 endings, after all! One of the endings has one of the most brilliant improvs because the actress forgot her lines. If you think this is silly, try Murder By Death, a parody on murder mysteries. Even works if you don't know iconic cinematic detective like Charlie Chan & Miss Marple.
Green yells "Tape recordings are not admissible evidence!" On Better Caul Saul, the same actor records an admission of guilt even though he knows it's not admissible evidence
OMG i never made that connection! I mean I know the actor is in both, but I forgot that he mentioned about the tape AND he used a tape to get his brother! (spoilers for Better Call Saul I guess??)
I did a one person recreation of many scenes of "Clue: The Movie", in what started as a simple movie review. I even added a few extended scenes, and changed a bit around, such as giving Mrs. White a lighter when she says her famous Flames, flames line. We also learn more about her first husband. And even Plum's space-time experiments. I also sang a few excerpts from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" at certain points. Yevette on the stairs singing to Mr. Green, "I can make you a mannnn." I had too many favorite parts of "Clue", so I recreated most of them. It's here on RUclips under the title "Clue: The Movie, Review, Reactions & Recreations". There is also a great documentary called "Who Done It: The Clue Documentary" (2022) here on RUclips, it even has animated version of the deleted ending, as the director reads the story book.
Yay, Angel! 😃 Missed you! 🙂❤ Hope you're feeling better 💕 Mr. Body is played by Lee Ving, known as the lead singer of the punk band Fear. They've done some great songs like I Love Living In The City, I Don't Care About You, Let's Have A War, More Beer, No More Nothing, The Mouth Won't Stop, Responsibility & Strangulation. Lee has been in other movies such as Flashdance & an anthology movie called Nightmares. The singing telegram lady is played by Jane Wiedlin, who is the rhytm guitar player & backing vocalist of the all female new wave group The Go-Go's. She also played Joan of Arc in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.

"I don't know why that startled me so much! Geez..." 🤣🤣🤣 Wadsworth getting bonked in the middle of his tirade is so funny, and the way Tim collapses is hilarious. I think about his "I'm not shouting! Alright I am!!!" whenever i get overly excited about anything 😅 Other Tim Curry you should see - Ridley Scott's Legend (a couple versions exist, I prefer the one with the soundtrack by Tangerine Dream) Congo - based on a book by Michael Crichton, great cast (Tim is wild), a little silly but fun if you watch it like a pulp adventure (Indiana Jones, The Mummy, etc)
@@stevedavis5704 👍 Also a classic. I usually recommend it to those a little deeper in a Muppet journey (I think it plays amazing in contrast to Muppet Christmas Carol)
I didn't see this until it was released on VHS with all three endings. I managed to find a newspaper ad and saw where all three endings were playing in my old neighborhood. I seriously doubt, at the time, that my parents would take me to three different theatres, especially since they weren't all that close to home, to watch the same movie. Neil Simon's Murder By Death was a spoof of the genre with an all-star cast. It came out in the late 70s. I haven't watched it in a very long time so I'm not sure if the humor holds up but considering who made and who's in it, it should still be entertaining at the very least.
Yes that is a pipe wrench used on metal pipes in plumbing before pvc plastic was invented. Our dad had one he got from old tools given to him but he never used it.
Another movie similar to Clue that you would absolutely enjoy is Murder By Death starring Sir Alec Guinness and featuring Truman Capote. Itits a murder mystery that plays like a farce just like Clue!
I saw a lot of Howard Hesseman back when I was younger, but the one role I always associate with him is Dr. Johnny Fever from the television show WKRP in Cincinatti. I don't hear anybody talking about that show anymore, which is a shame.
I loved that show! Saw it on syndication when I was a kid. I think it gets mentioned once in awhile - usually around Thanksgiving because ... well, you know... 🚁🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃😱
Because of all the issues with music rights it didn't get to remain in syndication like many other shows. Pity, as it's still one of the best sitcoms ever made.
They take a lot from the game to make the movie flow. For instance the scrunching in the doorways and hallways goes back to the game where two characters couldn’t be in a doorway or hall together.
Good to see ya back. 😁. Hope youre feeling better.😁 Everyone played off each other so well. And i like how they had multiple endings. Saw them all when they had this at my local drive in many, many years ago as a classics night. LOL.
The ironing board hitting Colonel Mustard on the head is more than just a nice bit of physical humour: it's also a subtle clue for the 'multiple killers' ending. If, as the Colonel claimed, he had been searching the kitchen at the time the driver was murdered, he should already know that there's just an ironing board behind that door. Since he doesn't, that casts doubt on his alibi. If you do find time to rewatch the film, keep an eye out to see if Mrs White and/or Professor Plum really are absent during the scenes where they're meant to be murdering one of the first two victims.
My thought in that scene has always been who irons their clothes in the kitchen? Why, when you have a house that big, would you put the ironing board there?
Born in '71 here, so not sure you'll know or care about much i have to say here friend😅, but somebody might,...possibly? This was only a hit, if it even was considered a bonafied one, because, at least, a generation had grown up playing the boardgame their whole life. Is what we did in the "Before Time Days"😅 without cable, vcrs, or computers. The cast was mostly beloved pop film & tv actors we'd also grown up with, with the exception of Curry, actually. Rocky Horror Picture Show was an adult oriented oddity shown in dark corners, at least was back then in podunk wagon-wheel boot-scootin' HEE HAW Land, Old Nashville. Original "It" is the only other thing i can remember him being in until this. Even though i loved the game, the cast, & was intrigued to see how they'd pull it off on screen, i wasn't that intrigued, so didn't see until years later. But the way i remember it it was billed as 3 separate films you could choose to see, same movie, different endings. Go See All 3!!! 🤗💕 When i did finally watch it i was a bit surprised to see Punk Rocker & lead singer for Legendary band FEAR, Lee Ving play "Mr. Body". Still new here, so dont know if you've heard of a '70's up & coming GOAT by the name of John Belushi, but he was the only celebrity in history to be on a #1 tv show (1st & best Saturday Night Live), star in a #1 movie (Animal House), & have a #1 record (The Blues Brothers) all within a year before he danced with "Mr. Bownstone" a little too hard one night, alongside pals Robert De Niro & Robin Williams & never woke up. Is what got Williams off the dope. If haven't see any of these they're all comedy calssic gems: Animal House, The Blues Brothers, or my personal fave, his last comedy once again co-starring his real life best friend Dan Akroyd, reversing intended roles. But that one may be best to watch after you're familiar with Belushi? Probably wouldn't be a very popluar reaction video, havent seen one pop yet, since computer world happened. Unfortunately a lot of lost Pop Classics virtually disappeared from radar if the makers didn't do a cable tv or mass video distribution/video store deals. Like excellent 5-star Oscar worthy "Bad Boys" starring a teenage Sean Penn fresh off his first role in based on true story stoner Classic "Fast Times At Ridgemont High". A lot of big name actors got their stsrt in that one, incuding Nicholas Cage & Forrest Whitaker. Sean Penn is mostly firgotten about nowadays too except for maybe his sht politics?😅 But he's as good as any De Niro, or Di Capprio for that matter. I mention that as an example. Bring up or type in "Bad Boys" & all that will come up these days is Will Smith, Martin Lawrence comedy.😔 Anyway, back to "Mr. Body".😅 Since i was blessed to receive my first memories, realization that i was alive, on my 4th birthday when i scored a Evil Kneivel playset🤘😎, July 1975. I remember the debut of Saturday Night Live that October. Belushi became my idol. Was hearbroken when he died in '82. I read all the bios & learned at the end his favorite band was FEAR & he actually got in a fist fight with the director on the set of "Neighbors" over him refusing to put FEAR on the soundtrack. Belushi also got them a gig on SNL one Halloween. Is on here/yt. Donald Pleasance, Dr Lumas(?) from "Halloween" introduced them & they tore the place apart, causing tens of thousands of dollars in damages & eventually had the plug pulled & went to commercial.😅 So about 20 years ago i heard FEAR was coming to town. Knowing they'd play "Let's Start A War" as their encore i made my way to the bathroom right beside the stage. And when they walked off i popped out & walked backstage with them. I went up to Ving & gave him a big hug & kiss on the cheek, expecting to get totally stomped. If you know FEAR/Lee Ving, you know exactly what im talking about!😅 But instead he turned out to be the coolest mofo you could ever meet. I told him i grew up listening to his music as a '80's punkster myself, but heard he was friends with Belushi, a little known fact back then. And to my surpise we ended up having a few brews while he happily reminisced about his old friend, my childhood idol. The closest I'll probably ever get to Belushi this life? You rule, "Mr. Body"!😅 ...Hey, what can i say? Had a minute, took a minute. Rock On, friends! 🤘🌎❤️
Since you are watching it now they put all 3 endings on the film. They did that different ending on first movie release. Once it went to vcr and DVD it includes all 3.
While Lesley Ann Warren did a great job as Miss Scarlet in this film, the part was originally supposed to be played by Carrie Fisher, who's best known as Princess Leia in the Star Wars franchise. Unfortunately for Fisher, she was going through some personal issues at the time, so they had to recast the role with Warren.
You seemed to miss one joke! Mrs. Peacock asked where the LITTLE GIRLS room was! The FRENCH Maid answered Oui Oui Madame! And Mrs. Peacock said no I just have to powder my nose. If you'd like to see a much better and funnier (in my opinion) comedy murder mystery, you should watch Neil Simon's Murder by Death (1976), starring Peter Falk, Peter Sellers, Alec Guinness, Maggie Smith, and Truman Capote.
I have this movie on Blu-Ray and one of the features is that you can play the movie and it will show one of the three endings at random, or you can choose to watch the version with all three endings. And, obviously, this is just my opinion, but I think the reason they made three endings is because just as the game can end any number of ways, so can the movie. The first ending is my favorite. Do you have a preferred ending?
You said you love Tim Curry then you should check out these 2 other movies that are underrated but great movies with him in them. 1. 1980's (Legend) and 2. 1980's t.v. movie (IT). Enjoy.

Awesome you're back! I'm still hoping you get around to that Rain Man reaction at some point! But in the meantime, I'm enjoying everything you do.
Where you been for 2 months? awesome you're uploading again 😊
I'm so happy yu made the "Noises off" reference"
RIP Martin Mull 😿
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!!😊😊😊😊
You're cool for dropping two great movie references: Noises Off and Date with an Angel
🤗💕
When i did finally watch it i was a bit surprised to see Punk Rocker & lead singer for Legendary band FEAR, Lee Ving play "Mr. Bring up or type in "Bad Boys" & all that will come up these days is Will Smith, Martin Lawrence comedy.😔
Anyway, back to "Mr.
Body"!😅
...Hey, what can i say? Had a minute, took a minute.
Rock On, friends!
🤘🌎❤️
Hey old friend, great moooovaaaay! Tim Curry is KING 👑
The legend of Tim Curry he was such a great actor
Victor Victoria is funny too.
21:04 That's you being startled? Waving your arms back and forth like Herman Munster? That's excellent. Subbed!
Yes! How I missed that adorable laugh!!!!
Lesley Ann Warren played a fantastic character in "Victor/Victoria" plus it's a great movie.
Just as well, if you have ever seen The Blues Brothers you know how bad Carrie Fisher is at trying to murder people.
@@88wildcat Maybe Jake and Elwood were just lucky as well. :)
I may have missed it---did you notice that Britta's dad is also in this movie?
Hey, there’s Angel! I haven’t seen her in a while.
You seemed to miss one joke! Mrs. Peacock asked where the LITTLE GIRLS room was! The FRENCH Maid answered Oui Oui Madame! And Mrs. Peacock said no I just have to powder my nose. That means she thought the FRENCH Maid was asking if she had to WEE WEE! I LOVED that you called the cat your SISTER!! When I was growing up I took care of everybody including the family pets and after I got my own house the first thing I did was to add my own puppy and kitten because I love animals! 😊😊😉😉👱♀👱♀👗👗👠👠❤❤
Hi angel hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤

The "3 endings" wasn't available until the DVD came out.
It was awesome, as each local theater had its own ending.
The three endings were available when this movie played in HBO well before the dvd release. Remember this movie was released in the eighties.
VHS
13:22 Well done, the Three Stooges reference. I was hoping you'd redeem yourself. Good job by you!
Yay!
I love ❤ your reactions !
If you'd like to see a much better and funnier (in my opinion) comedy murder mystery, you should watch Neil Simon's Murder by Death (1976), starring Peter Falk, Peter Sellers, Alec Guinness, Maggie Smith, and Truman Capote.
“Are you trying to make me look stupid in front of the other guests?”
mr body was created in a lab to be a mixture of the three stooges, in one body... mr body
Howard Hesseman played Dr. Johnny Fever in "WKRP In Cincinnati".
The first and third endings are equally good.
You're never going to figure out whodunit.
Just enjoy! 😂
You said you love Tim Curry then you should check out these 2 other movies that are underrated but great movies with him in them. 1. 1980's (Legend) and 2. 1980's t.v. movie (IT). Enjoy.
New England 1954. One more year and Doc Brown will have invented time travel!
You really need to see the best who dun it. Murder by Death 1976
If you like this Knives Out is good too.
I am your singing telegram! BANG!
Because I’ve seen this movie so many times I actually go worried that you were feeling hungry because of what the guests were eating at dinner…
Anyone pick up or mention Professor Plum working for United Nations Organization and the World Health Organization. 1st letters make out UNO WHO
Their names were the colors of players tokens in board game such as miss scarlet was red Mrs peacock was blue and so on. Mr buddy was the victim.
"A double negative has led to proof positive."
.....⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.....
Have you watched Cowboys & Aliens? If not, I believe you’d enjoy it.
Kind of sad timing on this one. Rest in peace, Martin Mull.
