Hi! hahaha. Oh yes, don't be fooled...I do have a "wicked evil laugh". LOL And YES they are a few of my old VHS tapes on some of my shelves (def a lot Disney ones in there among the bunch) :)
I def want to see that. I saw bits of it on T.V. YEARS ago but don't remember anything at all about the plot. People always said my mom looked just like Meg Ryan (in the 90's), which is the main reason it stuck out to me when it came out at the time!

Oh, that's so funny! I can see how the title would make it seem like a Disney movie. haha. I'm glad you were pleasantly surprised! Now that you said it, though, I kind of would like to see a cartoon of this with the same actors/ voice actors. lol
Oh, that's so cool!! One of the first things I ever did on set was as a "background actor", and I love hearing stories (or instances) about people on/ or around sets in the past and experiencing the filming then! very neat.
Kevin Kline deservedly won the supporting actor Oscar, which is rarity for a comedy. But John Cleese, Jamie Leigh Curtis and Michael Palin were brilliant as well. A great zany comedy that is utterly hilarious.
Seriously! They all did SO great. I love when movies can have a lot of good actors and still genuinely have a good, fun story too. It was well done. Thanks for the comment!
When this movie was made Apartheid was still very much the official policy of the South African government, so making Otto the Minister for "Justice" there is a reference to that.
back in the days people would NOT cry over a "dead" dog in a comedy, but sit and enjoy because it is just a comedy movie. not a real world. jesus i love animals adore them, never hurt one but never thought about tragedy of a dogs "killed" in this comedy. this world has gone mental
For an English crime/heist comedy I would highly recommend The Ladykillers (1955), starring Alec Guinness (original Obi Wan Kenobi) and Peter Sellers, along with a lot of other very famous people of the time, of whom you’ve probably never heard. I know it’s old, but it’s very, very good and I’m sure you will like it if you can find it. Thank you for this reaction. I loved this film so much. I can’t tell you how many times I watched it back in the day. Just the swell of nostalgia upon hearing the music was wonderful 😊 Thank you 🙏
Firstly, you're so very welcome for the reaction. It was my pleasure watching this movie and getting to laugh and enjoy it so much. Secondly, I'm looking forward to checking out "The Ladykillers" (1955)! I did not know Alec Guiness was in it (that makes my heart happy). :) I already wanted to see it, based off other comments I've read on here and that just makes it even better. Very cool. Thank you!

Speaking of Kevin Kline with an accent and a stolen necklace, I've always enjoyed "French Kiss" with him and Meg Ryan. There's a crime aspect to it, but it's much more rom-com.
I started watching this, but a few minutes in realize how much you love animals (Especially FRED 🙂), and know what Ken does later, and said to myself in my best Family Guy voice "Ohh nooooooo!!", BTW, thanks for reminding me, I bought donuts for..... my kids?... BRB.(They won't notice)
LOL!!!! hahahaha Yep, I love animals for sure (hence, me having to tell myself in certain scenes of certain things "it isn't real")...and nice....can't go wrong with a good donut. :)
Thank you for these recommendations! I've only ever heard of "Swordfish" out of the ones you listed (which came out when I was around 10 I think but I never saw all the way through).
In the original ending they filmed, Ken actually does kill Otto with the steamroller, but I guess they thought that a bit too dark for a comedy (nevermind he had already killed three dogs and an old lady :p ). I wish they had kept the stuttering joke from that ending though, because in that alternate ending Ken goes "I lost my stutter! It's gggg-g-g... it's g-g-guhh... it's gg-gg-ggggg..." and the first time I saw that it it made me laugh so hard, catching me completely offguard because Im so used to the version where he does actually cure his stutter. Fun fact: Archie Leach is Cary Grant's real name
Yep, Ken is Michael Palin who was also in Monty Python. John Cleese also had a TV series called Fawlty Towers where he played a deranged hotel manager.
Thank you so much for this comment! I actually JUST got Fawlty Towers in the mail!!! I ordered it off Amazon!!! I wanted more John Cleese so I'm excited to check it out. I'll be recording my reactions to it. :)
Great movie, great story line, great cast, great fun. Since you seem to like British comedy (AND John Cleese), you might want to have a go at the movie "Clockwise".from 1986. (There is some police action in it, too, lol.)
Oh NICE! Thanks! This is the first I'm hearing of "Clockwise", and I'll try anything once..especially if it has John Cleese...AND is a British comedy! :)
You would probably really like The Big Chill. It has a young Kevin Kline, Jeff Goldblum, Glenn Close, William Hurt, Tom Berenger and more. One of the best movies that year...
I was a fan of all four leads going in and came out wanting to watch it again. It's an oft-quoted comedy classic. In terms of other British comedies, you can't go wrong with anything from Monty Python or directed by Edgar Wright. Of course, there is A Hard Day's Night, Love Actually, which is one of my ATF romantic-comedies, or Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing.
Thank you for the recommendations! I love anything by Edgar Wright (or at least all I've seen of his so far...I think being on a set of his would be a great experience). I JUST am not getting into Monty Python material more! I can't wait to post it on here! :) Soon!!! Also, I appreciate the recommendation for Branaghs's "Much Ado About Nothing". I know some background info to do with that movie/ the actors/ the filming (solely because I love many actors in it) and I've been interested in seeing it.
I remember watching this in Apollo Beach Florida with a date and when the part sticking French fries up his nose, I couldn’t stop laughing and had to slink down in my seat ,kkkkkken, oh my , thanks this movie is a classic
Oh my goodness.. Entrapment... what a movie!! I picture Catherine Zeda Jones going through those lasers, at so many random points in my life (and have imagined myself doing the same at times). LOL She and Sean Connery are absolute Gold in that. :)
Perfect comment! I JUST bought (and received in the mail today) Fawlty Towers (on DVD. the entire series, with bonus features, etc.) I'll be recording reactions really soon. I am definitely looking forward to it! :)
I'd really appreciate it if you watch anything directed by OR just starring Edward Burns. My top 3 suggestions: CONFIDENCE SHE'S THE ONE SIDEWALKS OF NEW YORK
More heist movies: Harry In Your Pocket (1973); The Skin Flam Man (1967): Thunderbolt And Lightfoot (1974); To Catch Thief (1955); Charade (1963); The Great Train Robbery (1978); The Thomas Crown Affair (1968) and the remake (1999) both very good; Foolproof (2003); Now You See Me (2013). Missed your wonderful giggle.
NIIIICE! Oh my gosh. THANK YOU, for this list!!! And aw, that's so kind. I enjoy when I have the time to make reactions and have discussions with you all so much, genuinely. Thank you, again.
ohh!could you please cosplay any of Faye Marsays roles?either as The Waif from Game of Thrones or Anne Neville from the White Queen or at least Vel Sartha from Andor series!
Ken is played by Michael Palin (Galahad from Holy Grail). He is probably my favorite Python. Though there is no sequel, the 4 leads reunites for Fierce Creatures. Certainly revisit Holy Grail and watch the other 2 Python movies - Life of Brian and Meaning of Life - and maybe And Now For Something Completely Different, which is a movie of their more famous sketches from Flying Circus. There's also a ton of 'Python-adjacent' movies like Fish Called Wanda with 2 or more Pythons. A rarer one you would enjoy if you can find it is Splitting Heirs, with Eric Idle, John Cleese, and Rick Moranis.
More heist movies you say? There's a good one out there not on your channel. Have you seen "Snatch" from 2000? If haven't seen it, then your challenge is to watch it without subtitles.
John Cleese and Michael Palin, two Monty Python's Flying Circus alums. One of my favorite British comedy shows ever. You'll see them later when you react to Holy Grail, or Life of Bryan. You may have already seen Cleese in Harry Potter. But he was in an episode of DOCTOR WHO. It was a cameo from the 70s.
Heist movie's... Try an old movie called The Doberman Gang... from 1972. If you like Kevin Kline movies try... I Love You To Death, It really happened crazy as it is.
@@AngelGroves Sorry, but i almost always watch with the titles on. When that happened though i laughed out loud and couldn't keep it to myself. Hope you're well and i enjoy the reactions. Best wishes.
Being a 70's kid i thought id like this more when it came out. Didn't think it was that funny at the time. Then i happened to wander into a pad high on lsd one night & they were watching it & when Otto started eating Ken's fish i lost my shit, couldn't stop laughing, & had to leave. Pretty good little flick!😅 The sequel's good too. See ya! ✌️🌎❤️

(There is some police action in it, too, lol.)
Oh NICE! Thanks! This is the first I'm hearing of "Clockwise", and I'll try anything once..especially if it has John Cleese...AND is a British comedy! :)
"Just jump to the left"... I don't think that it would be prudent to do the time warp just then.
Kevin Kline........aka............ Mr. Pheobe Cates.
Have you seen 'Entrapment' with Sean Connery and Catherine Zeda Jones? It is a fantastic heist movie!!!
Oh my goodness.. Entrapment... what a movie!! I picture Catherine Zeda Jones going through those lasers, at so many random points in my life (and have imagined myself doing the same at times). LOL She and Sean Connery are absolute Gold in that. :)
For more Kevin Kline comedies, consider reacting to:
"In and Out"- sweet comedy
"French Kiss" - that one is more romantic than comedy
Thank you!
I think you would love a British TV series (only 12 episodes) called 'Fawlty Towers' with John Cleese.
Other crime movies you might enjoy are:
The Sting (1973)
Grosse Pointe Blank (1997)
Throw Momma From the Train (1987)
Perfect comment! I JUST bought (and received in the mail today) Fawlty Towers (on DVD. the entire series, with bonus features, etc.) I'll be recording reactions really soon. I am definitely looking forward to it! :)
You should really watch Fierce Creatures, it's the same cast as this movie.
I'd really appreciate it if you watch anything directed by OR just starring Edward Burns.
My top 3 suggestions:
CONFIDENCE
SHE'S THE ONE
SIDEWALKS OF NEW YORK
Lookin good, if i may say so.
I LOVE this suggestion! I think that's not a bad idea at all.
Can you please react to the Big Lebowski. So when the Knox Harrington scene comes up you can finally accept that he is your father 🙏
Archie Leche is the real name of Carey Grant.
Check out Captain Ron (1992).
Will do!
If you liked Smokey and the Bandit, you should watch White Lightning. Burt Reynolds, Ned Beatty, Bo Hopkins, Matt Clark
Oh, sweet. I haven't seen that. Thank you!
@@AngelGroves Great movie. Shot on location, realistic acting. It's a great 70s action movie.
@@cs-7 love that. sounds even more appealing, now!
The Doberman Gang (1972)
If you really like John Cleese you should actually watch his comedy TV Series that he really wrote ..called "Fawlty Towers"
Crime comedy? I'd argue "Lethal Weapon" would fall into that category.
I LOOOOVE all four Lethal Weapon movies so much.
If you like a crime movie that is actually hilariously funny you must watch the 1972 version of "The In-Laws"
I can't give you the locket. I find it on the sidewalk. I'm turning it in to the police tomorrow morning.
28.33 you really really have to have the cc on. Bloody auto generated subtitles.
lol
LOL seriously
@@AngelGroves Sorry, but i almost always watch with the titles on. When that happened though i laughed out loud and couldn't keep it to myself. Hope you're well and i enjoy the reactions. Best wishes.
If you like murder mysteries you will love the movie "Knives Out" Please react to it.
Did you disappear again?????
YES!!! (sad face). Life and some health matters. Always miss you all!!
@@AngelGroves well, love and good wishes back at you, Miss. We are here....will await you😘
@@danfreeman5301 Thanks so much. :)
See ya!
