Gayle, I’ve been following you for a while here in Spain and I have to say, your voice is just so calming and happy. There are a ton of crafty videos out there, imo yours is the best. I sit here in the mornings with my coffee and smile right thru them. Thank you! You have got me through some dark days XxxOxxx
An online friend from Facebook gave me your link because I told her I get frustrated and confused after watching tutorial’s on how to make Junk Journals and I end up not even wanting to try. After watching this wonderful video I don’t feel overwhelmed and I’m really excited to give it a go. Thank you so much for making it SIMPLE from start to finish. My biggest issue was HOW DO I KNOW WHAT PAPERS TO USE AND HOW DO I STACK THEM... and now I know. As I was watching this video my daughter was laying next to me trying to fall asleep... she said your voice was soothing, I agree. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. Thank you to your hubby as well
I just love that your Hubs asked you for this! I quilted for years, showing my hubby each one I got done. One day he said, "so where's mine?" I was gobsmacked! In all that time, I had never thought to make him one! So you can be sure he got a Scottish links golf quilt pronto!
I'm also from Montana.............it will always be home. Enjoyed your travel journal tutorial. I'm making one for our daughter and husband who will be making a trip to Arizona for their 35th anniversary. Thanks
That's so cute your husband asked you to make a journal. Mine did too... Though he hasn't yet used his, I still appreciate that he saw some of the journals I was making for other people and wanted I've for himself.
I have watch dozens of tutorials n maybe it's because of that but your video just clicked with me. It looks so easy thank you so much! Also yay you said kitty corner, every time I say that people tell me its catty corner. Now I can say I'm not the only one!
Ok, you’ve started something now!!!! My hubby was earwigging while I was watching you, and he realised you could have a journal without ‘fluff’ and now he wants one!!!!!! Oh boy, now I will have to buy some manly papers!!!! Lol. Your journal for your hubby looked so smart, I will aspire to make one just like it. TFS 😻xx
I love that your hubby asked for a journal. You did a great job. Thank you for sharing with us. Love the little pads you saved the paper for. He’s a lucky man 😀🌻❤️
love that he asked you to make the journal for him. I'm sure that him just knowing how much you enjoy making them is what really makes him happy. Hoping he takes many trips to journal about,
I just now saw your comment, so sorry for the late reply! So fun to hear from a Carroll grad! I worked there for 25 years and retired in 2016. I wonder if you were there when I was. Thanks so much for watching!! 💜💛
@@TheChalkBoxByVictoria Aw, I loved Kari! Such a great gal! She was the gift accountant, so as a fundraiser, I worked very closely with her! I’m so glad you mentioned Carroll! What fun that we have that connection! ❤️
You read my mind. I was just wondering if anything special had to be done for a single TN. You have no idea how many times your videos are exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks Gayle.
Love it only had to pause a little but was able to get one done, so excited. No I just need to add pockets and embellish. This was so perfect for a beginner, definitely didn't feel overwhelmed at all. Thank you so much for sharing and thank your husband for his request. Hugs and Smiles
LOVE this tutorial Gayle!!! I God bless your husband. I can't imagine my husband EVER asking for a journal but never say never, right!!!! LOL Your hubby is going to LOVE it!!!!
Thanks for a great tutorial, made my 1st travel journal along with you. I'm so excited it turned out really nice, now on to some paper I love and do some more decorating.
Lovin this!!!! Way too cool. Gunna make a Fisherman’s TN with maps and field and stream reports and his old expired licenses. And I’m jamming it up with charms of bobbles and feathers and bent tied flies.... boop boop dee do.... thanks to you

I’m so happy your husband loved his journal. This is exactly the ‘non-fluffy’ kind of journal my husband would appreciate! (Christmas will be here before we know it!)
Gayle, I was going to ask how he liked it and I see that it was perfect! Did he like the bow? I’m picturing my husband leaving it untied, or clipping it off (not realizing that it could just be slipped off! LOL!
Such positive words Gayle, and that's something you always have said to us.... WE all can do it !!! I remember when I was really new and how scarred I was to take that first step. So thank you for having faith in us , and most importantly for sharing your knowledge. Hugs as always from the land of Oz.
Oh my gosh, I loved this video! It didn't confused me!!! 😁 I've got to make one!!! I love your sewing method. First time seeing it done that way!!! 💖💖💖
Hi Gayle. I love your channel. This video was suggested by Mare from Lilac Pages for the sewing the pamphlet stitches in. She was right...great tutorial. Thanks Gayle!
Thanks Gayle! Going up to make a couple now...Sewing in is a challenge....you are right for us newbies at least! and I appreciate the tip on the zigzag...sometimes I get it right and sometimes not...but now I will always stop on left side, turn and continue!
As a newbie this was brilliant to watch, I’ve been collecting supplies for a while and have made a few ephemera stand alone projects but not had the confidence to make an actual journal. After watching this video I think I can make one now. Thank you for sharing and for not assuming that we all know how to make a journal and that we understand the specific language for things xxx
Wow, such a revelation. Thank you for that awesome little tip on zigzag around corners. Yet another sparkling little gem from your treasure trove of videos.
Loved this! Thank you! Happy your husband liked it too!😉. I love the little paper pads you made. So cute! I don’t have a sewing machine so I’m wondering how I could make these...maybe just using the pamphlet stitch...will have to experiment when my cast comes off. Your videos are fun and informative!!❤️🙋🏻
Thanks so much Gayle for sharing this. I think just about anybody would love one of these. whether they journal or not, because of lists of items needed from the hardware store, for example, or holding receipts, as you mentioned, etc. You are always an inspiration! Hugs from FL!
