Thanks very much!! Messing around, playing with colour.....I think we both enjoy this type of art! Thanks so much for popping by to watch Lindsay, I really appreciate it!🤗🤓💜
I love how you upcycle. I guess that is why I am so passionate about junk journals. Making something out of stuff that most people would throw away is so satisfying. All your examples have provided me with lots of inspiration.
Lucy we're on the same page. I don't exclusively use junk but I like to err on that side of things. But each to our own, whatever makes us happy 🤗👍🤓❤️🌿🍁
Lovely! Why not melt your wax and scrape the eyeshadow into it to stir it in? You could melt the wax in an old saucepan on a low heat, pour them in small batches in paper cups, stir different eyeshadows into each one, then let them set. You can pop them out, and put them back into your, now empty, basket of wax melts. Then when you want a colour, grate the one you want before ironing. Then you've mixed two things together and made your own crayons. Just an idea.☺️ New Subscriber xxxxx
@@joiedefi well, it SOUNDS like a good idea..... I'm not sure how it would work however! You could add the crayons in too perhaps...? Glad to be here xxx
I just wanted to say the joy you have brought to so many is priceless. I hope you are continuing to heal . I sympathise as I too have faced challenges. We are here ready for when you are well enough to create for us again. All my love Lisa x
Was it only a year ago I watched this video. I thought it was longer than that. I have used up all of these lovely things and we'll need to make some more. Getting more and more excited about working in my joie de fi journal in January. Blessings and love for your continued healing and returning to us when it is comfortable for you. Just wanted to remind you that you are missed😊
Miss Joie de fi, this comment is coming to you from my heart. I had to get back to basics and I came across this video that I saved for reference. You do amazing work. I am going to do this project now because I have a lot more things that I have collected to make for my journals. My first one I wasn't too happy with. It's OK but it didn't put a smile on my face. My second one did. Now you have over 59 thousand subscribers and you must come back to us and show us more ideas or make some journals or anything that your heart desires to make. I know I miss you and that is from my heart. Thank you for sharing and God Bless you and your family. 🥰💖💖💖💖💖👍👍👍👍👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟(🌹🐞🦂🌵)
Love these gems that you've miraculously pulled off so well Joie. I must say I really appreciate seeing the finished product up front as a guide to what's coming up. It makes it so much easier to understand your thinking and therefore quicker to catch on how to pull these eye catching gems together. It makes for a great tutorial.many thanks again 🇩🇰 .
Love, love, love these. I appreciate how you work. I’m a “big picture” person, like you. Show me the big idea....then, break it down into detailed info. You make an excellent instructor. Soooooo organized, detailed, ......Thanks for being YOU!
Great ideas here. But I have to say I really enjoy listening to you. I can't sleep due to some pain and listening to you brought a lot of comfort and relaxation. Thank you.
Good ideas! Unfortunately the booksellers seem to be on to us as a quick look up online showed very expensive prices. That’s changed a lot recently as I know that we used to be able to find more reasonable prices. Perhaps at your local thrift shop although I know that their prices are also going up. Some Thrift shops have specials depending on what the day of the week or month is so if you figure out the scheme and then only shop on those special days you might find something at a reasonable price. Good luck! P.S. share your tips with this community and we will all benefit!💕
I just watched this video again to remind myself not to buy any new supplies! You gave me some ideas and I’m ready to get busy, but I wanted to say how much I miss your videos and how often you’re in my thoughts and prayers. Please take care. ♥️
I love the way you present your videos with the outline page so that I know what you have done and what is coming up. Thanks for all the great information that you are sharing.
I'm absolutely baffled! My sister started making Junk Journals and told me about it, so I watched a few videos and got interested. She makes the more ... artistic kind, very beautiful but not really my cup of tea. I thought that I'd have to buy a lot of supplies to get started, but in reality you only need a bit of hardware. The rest you already have at home, you just need to look at things with new eyes. That paper made with the crayons, eyeshadow and wax is gorgeous!!!
Love "use what you've got." These are lovely. More importantly, they are versatile. I think I'll have a go at using music paper for my background to add to the journal I'm working on. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into each project.
August 18..2024...keep going sweetie. We're in this together to win it. Victory will be ours. Praise the Lord. We will not be defeated .Right, ..Right. 😇🤗🤗 Hugs to you . Be blessed today. 🙏💜💜 Cute ideas !!!!👍
Hi, a video I hadn't watched yet. Very helpful. Those strips with the holes that you tore off of the paper is a good piece of paper. I put that gold wax stuff, forgot the name of it, on it and then thread ribbon into the holes. Of course the strip was a short one when I did it. Your lovely ephemera has given me some good ideas, thanks.
I always like the practical aspect of making - using what one has - I have to make a bunch of these embellishments for my journals.💗💗💗 Thank you Joie for the inspiration!
Why I keep coming back to your tutorials. I've really come to the realization I need to "mass make" some embellishments. See a lot that I like, but they always seem to mostly look alike. But, watching you helps me get out of the norm and re-examine what I have to work with. Thanks.
Thank you for your videos. I've just discovered this world of junk journals. I love to reuse things or repurpose them. This is all so exciting. I've only watched 3 videos and am so excited to watch more. You are a joy to listen and watch. Thank you.
Amazing how much I don't remember from watching the video a while back. I have a little extra money right now and so I have ordered the scalloped 3 inch punch. I have wanted it ever since I first saw this video. Hope you are doing better and that we will see you soon as you are able
Have you ever tried hair spray? Maybe some clear coat? To "seal" the powders. Biggest tip, spray from a distance (maybe in your splat box) so not to push powders around.
I love everything you do!!!!! I have never created a master board but I’m going to now! I love how you make us a list and ideas. Thank so much! cyndi m.
Oh my goodness so many ideas going through my head right now. I have a Cricut so can cut any shapes I want out of book pages, masterboards, maps, etc. I cut my own tags, too and use revision cards as a base as they are the thinnest cardstock available for not much money then I cover them with vintage papers, etc. I have die cuts, my own artwork, and vintage images to use as focals. Years ago (10?) I bought mica sprays (expensive) and never used them much. I can now use them up, so they aren't a waste of money. Then whe the bottles are empty I can make my own. I have a set of cheap chalk pastels that I bought and hated and put on a shelf and now I can rub the colours in with a blender to grunge them or give them a light coating of vintage colour. Last but not least, I have a Gelli plate that I use for bright and bold coloured prints. But why, oh why, haven't I thought about making prints with vintage colour paints? Can you tell I am excited? I already started creating.Thank you! 🙂
I never thought of crayons as wax with color, but I guess that's what they are! I bought some cheap crayons a week or two ago for just this purpose. I tell ya Joie, you really do make me brave! Hugs, Ems 🤗♥️🏜♥️🤗
