One of the things that amazes me about Trump is how many lawyers were willing to be disbarred to support him. His career has been a disbarment magnet. I lost count. Its shocking because many of these lawyers had very prestigious academic and professional careers. What were they thinking?
Actually it’s quite the opposite, can count the lawyers that worked for him on your fingers, maybe add a few toes. But compare that to the 10,000+ qualified lawyers that refuse to represent him. He has had a couple reputable attorneys that didn’t stick around, the rest of the attorneys that’s ever represented him were bums.
A quick payday and an early retirement…..except several lawyers that have already done work for him are STILL fighting to get paid in full.
At 56 It is hands down the most bizarre thing I've ever been through or witnessed . It's so bonkers that we are, as a country, just unable to wrap our heads around dealing with this one individual! 🤯

Hey Bruce, just wanted to say thanks for the channel, it has helped me realize some of the ways I have been threatening what I’ve built up in my life. It’s been 226 days since I’ve had any alcohol after recognizing my problems with it, and your videos reacting to bodycams were a big part of that decision! I did not want to be on one of those videos and embarrass myself and my family. You and Michael are doing good work.

I participated in an arduous jury selection for a civil trial a year or so ago. They called more than 200 prospective jurors for the first round and the extremely-detailed 19-page questionnaire dropped that number to 50, at which point they called for another pool of prospective jurors to be brought in. (The trial was expected to last as long as 90 days, and the industry was deeply embedded in the area.) Then it was days of sitting in the courtroom listening to individuals be questioned, where you are required to pay attention and can’t do anything but sit and wait to be called. It looked like I was going to be the last juror, but thankfully one of my answers on the questionnaire got me dismissed. I guess neither side liked my opinion that their industry needed to be strictly regulated to protect the environment. 🤣. My heartfelt condolences to everyone who has to endure this process for the latest Trump trial. 😳

So am I. I snitch on myself regularly. I have learned through content like this that if I were in a situation where I was being questioned about any felony, completely innocent, only remotely related, or potentially guilty that I am taking a vow of silence until I get counsel. I wouldn't even know how a statement could be used against me until it's too late. Knowing is a job for Bruce Rivers because he's a criminal lawyer. Always get a lawyer.

Bruce, you are the only person I have heard speak about the terrible precedent it would set if the Supreme Court rules a former president is immune from prosecution for criminal acts, that are unrelated to the commission of his/her responsibilities, he/she commits while in office. It has shocked me that no one else has even mentioned it.
I've heard it, and yes a very dangerous precedent, especially for someone like Trump who has no moral compass or any sense of ethics, who desires to be an authoritarian leader like Putin who eliminates and silences his opponents. Its even scarier that many people who support Trump do understand this and are totally ok with it.
You'd think that would be evident to anyone with half a brain.
I love this channel but I don’t know where you have been if you think Bruce is the first to speak about the horrible president it would set… I think just about every commentator I have seen (political, legal, and otherwise) that isn’t maga has pretty much been screaming this sentiment from the rooftops from day one. A lot of commentators didn’t think that the SC would even hear the case as the DC opinion was so well written to the point of being unchallengeable.

Yeah, if Trump had used his own cash, NONE of this would be happening. But Trump’s people didn’t want him to use his own funds because if people found out about him using his own money for something mysterious, they’d of dug deeper and discovered the affair. Which YES, it would have looked bad for him, but it would not have been criminal, and I don’t think it would have done any serious damage to his campaign, in my opinion. He could have made the exact same argument in the press that he’s making in court, ‘didn’t want Melania to find out’. And there would have been nothing criminal about it. But because he used campaign funds (via Cohen and whoever else), and then lied about those funds, that’s why he’s in court.

The one thing that’s important about the first day though is that it’s the first time in American history that a former president is being tried for a crime. This may not be the biggest crime he’s facing trial for, but it’s important nonetheless. He is not above the law and he needs held accountable.

Michael, you need to keep an ear out for feedback - seems like both mics are picking up the laptop speakers or something. Makes it hard to hear what Bruce is watching. Keep up the good work.
I posted about this a while back. I edit videos, it’s an easy fix. Just make sure you’re not doubling up on the audio feeds and check the vid through before posting. It’s getting annoying now!

@@Angelfire. Yep. It’s really frustrating now, because it’s happening frequently, and it lowers the quality of the excellent job Bruce does in front of the camera. The recent interview based video they did was shocking too in terms of audio, camera and tripod placement, camera angles, lighting etc.
I’m sure Michael is a lovely guy, and picks out some good clips for his dad to react to, but he’s not an editing genius lol. I’d recommend they employ an editor to just do a final check on things. The edit should really just be all about the audio - other than the inserted clips, there’s only one main video clip to work around, apart from the intro and outro that will simply be copied into each video.
