It’s doesn’t make any difference to give wage increases if you do t limit rent increases. As soon as wages go up, rent immediately goes up as well… it’s the lack of control over when and by how much landlords can arbitrarily raise rent for no reason other than that people are making a little more and the landlords don’t want them to save any of it or have more disposable income. The greed has got to be checked.

Let’s not forget about employers paying wages according to how large the family is. Also the property tax increases for schools and people who live on fixed incomes. Agree, there needs to be checks and limits everywhere.

When private equity firms can just buy up existing housing, all they do is force prices up
Also when wages increase, companies cut back on hiring and put more work on the backs of workers. But there are also the problem of property taxes rising along with housing value increases. Landlords have expenses too. My property taxes increased $140/mo., while my SSI increased by $80.

All through Pres. Biden's speech on D-Day I just chocked up and it took a while for it to stop. He was as solid as a Pres. representing our appreciation to those who gave their lives for us.

We could solve our biggest domestic problems right now with one thing: campaign finance reform. This moment in time, and I've been around for over six decades, is helping me grow in understanding of what it means to be a black person. Tim Black has been a great teacher too.
