2 reasons why he didnt leave the interview - 1. wanted to know what they know and thought he could outplay them, 2. he apparently is a serial cheater and a predator and the interrogator was very friendly, he probably thought she was flirty and that brushed his ego. She did an amazing character assessment and knew exactly how to get him, great job.

I know exactly how his poor wife felt. Because my husband who died from Covid while in custody, was supposedly talking to a FED posing as a 13 year old. After reading the conversation between them made me physically ill. I was humiliated , scared, disgusted, heartbroken and Angry.
At first I was going to ask why you were scared. The other emotions made total sense to me but scared didn't (because he was dead) but then I thought about it. In this day and age most people would automatically assume you were involved. Well, not assume but claim you were to cause drama. I should have been hired as a cop when I was 21, i seriously looked like I was 12. I could have easily been used in undercover. I’m also a great actor . Oh well….wasted time
Bc men like him don’t respect women and think all women are stupid and lazy (like Andrew Tate does). But at the end of the day it was these smart women that put these terrible men away.
I looked up the case and it was worse that this video even showed. He tried to get a 12 year old to convince her 9 year old friend to “have a 3some” with him. He sent them pictures of himself in a police uniform so they were scared and didn’t think they could tell the police because “he was the police.” Just despicable. Under the prison.

Yeah, she started by catering to his ego. She had read the text conversations he had with those girls, and talked to him like they did... She's one smooth operator.
You are definitely correct with your advice to NOT talk to police. But I'm SO GLAD these narcissistic sociopaths think they can talk their way out of being suspected.
One thing about law enforcement jobs is most if not all require you to submit to any questioning or interrogations/investigations from any law enforcement agencies without any problems. Asking for a lawyer or walking out when they tell you you’re free to go during questioning is completely legal, but it might cost them their job or mess up pay/rank, so most guilty cops like this will sit through this because refusing to do so for law enforcement officers is rare and not a good look. On duty incidents are a bit different, waiting for union reps and lawyers to show up is standard procedure for the most part for on duty/union involved events.
Well the fact they got all the warrent before they questioned him pretty much shows they know everything and now they are just tidying up loose ends. Talking or not talking would not made a difference at this point. Basically if the police ask you about something, it is best to ask if they have any warrents and if they say no, just say will I will pratice my 5th admentment rights until I have a lawyer and you question me with one present. Then expect to pay a bunch of money. But most cops sign a contract that require them to cooperate with any investigation or they'll be let go. At this point you really do not have a lot of time to strategize. 😊
And they get married while normal dudes have hard time with it. Begs the question where the problem lies (might be the women) they used to be good in choosing their men not anymore.
It's better to raise a kid alone than having your child living in a home with the molester. I got rid of my husband for that reason he went to jail and we had a good like after he was gone. I had to do everything but myself and support my kids. I can't imagine having him around now.
Absolutely. I spent about two years in court to get my kids away from an abusive stepdad. Sole custody is more work, more expense, but the alternative doesn’t bear thinking about.
Just imagine what could have happened if they had a daughter and he hadn't been caught here. (nightmare fuel) my prayers are with his poor wife and son.
My god...imagine finding out that your husband (who you've known since preschool *and have kids with)* is secretly a serial child molester... That poor woman is never going to trust anyone ever again.
And, she was pregnant with their first child. Well, sweetie, it was like this. Daddy wasn't with me at the hospital when you were born because he went to jail for doing despicable things to very underage girls. We'll put this in our family scrapbook for the great memories. Seriously, when the kid grows up you know he's gonna find out about this.
He lost his job and has to register as an offender. That's a life sentence depending on how you look at it. When he gets out he'll probably only be able to apply to minimum wage jobs and he'll lose all his friends and most of his family.
Her *tone* of voice. It's like the tone you hear at Starbucks when taking take your order. It's very friendly and non-threatening. I think that's one main thing why she was able to get him to drop his guard and start prying info from him, and took him a while to realise where this is going.
She also took advantage of the misogyny the cop most likely had. Let’s be honest, a guy who cheats on his wife and talks to underage girls probably doesn’t think that highly of women, which is probably why he was given a female investigator in the first place. The investigator knew he wasn’t going to take her seriously and that ended up being the weapon she used against him.
@@Flippylover_69she took advantage of the fact that he was a *predator* It was amazing to hear her present her self in such a inviting and kind manner, knowing everything she knew. Bravo 👏🏻
The interrogator obviously had all the information and understood that not only is he a pedo monster, he is also a narcissist to the Nth degree. So she used an incredibly successful strategy to play into his NPD traits making it all about *him* *him* *him* So when that approach is successful with such a narcissist, it clouded all of any judgement he had and she skillfully walked him right into all of it! But it's STILL *SO* disturbing that he was able to get a deal that would allow him to be back out on the streets in his 40's! I say that the *only* and *best* way to assure that any other monsters out there who want to hurt children is to start castrating them! I'm VERY confident that ALL would-be monsters and sickos out there will DEFINITELY be deterred from hurting children when they find out that they will be castrated! Sort of like how it is in other parts of the world where they cut a hand off of thieves..when said thieves are released from prison, not only do they have to live without a hand, but also they're ostracized from their community because it's blatantly obvious what they are!
As a woman who was cheated on by my husband with an adult female, I was devastated. I can't imagine how this whole thing devastated his pregnant, soon to deliver, this man's son. I hope that she's a very strong woman and that she has a very large and caring support system. Sadly, her world will be destroyed for some time. I feel so bad for her and his son!😢
Women like this are in denial. The fact that she turned a blind eye to her husband’s actions shows she is just as sick as he is. I know for a fact that women are too smart to not see when a man is cheating on them. They just choose to ignore it. That’s on them.
I don't think this has anything to do with the investigator being amazing at her job. He's a dumbass that anyone could have picked apart. U ain't gotta be good at ur job for this dumbass
Absolutely. She is damn good. I haven’t been her conduct any other investigation but from this one I’m assuming that she knows exactly what she is doing. From the very beginning she had a common interest with him with the baseball-softball thing. But Bruce was 100% correct when he said that as soon as she told him that he isn’t detained or under arrest he should of gotten up and left and went to retain a lawyer asap. But I’m glad that he didn’t and dug himself into a deeper hole. His prison stay is going to be very brutal for the fact that he was a cop and a pedo on top of that. Man ,especially in California I don’t know if this was a state or federal case but I actually hope that it was a state case because in the Feds the pedo’s and cops there are more protective prison yards than there are in California state prisons. I hope that he gets fucked up everyday that he is there and that he is holding people’s pockets LMFAO. People like this that are cops and do these types of sick things deserve the worst punishment.

He was not free to go because this investigator was from HR of the police department. He violated sexual harassment policy and he was going to be questioned by his boss next.
He was free to go in the sense that he was allowed to leave. Obviously it would have caused him some problems at work, but being charged for serious crimes is going to affect your professional reputation as well. Had he been arrested, any attempt to lead would have resulted in him being detained by force, in which case there's no sense in which he's free to leave.
The lady interviewing him is absolutely brilliant, I feel for his poor wife, family and friends. This will reflect on everyone, including the whole of law enforcement.
Actually, since he's law enforcement and being questioned by law enforcement, which you could consider a coworker, and this is occurring in the work place, this whole line of questioning could be considered sexual harassment. I think the idea is that since they are both at risk in prison and they can just do home detention so a lot of them over noticed will do 10 at the max and usually get off on good behavior and slap an anklet on them so they don't have to bother with protecting people like that. I'm not sure about every state but some states you can see the public registry with both their home and work address that anyone can look up (after agreeing that they won't use the information for malicious purposes ofc). Unfortunately it doesn't do much because they don't always get the help they need (most offenders are severally mentally ill) and they can just end up cutting the anklet and booking it. I think law enforcement realizes that public shame often keeps most in check as they live the rest of their adult lives seen as dangerous people and will likely not reoffend due to the public knowing the person. In my Army CI training, a voluntary "interrogation" is called an "interview", if you're free to go at any time. If you're not free to go, it was an "interrogation". It's like the difference between "impounded", and "confiscated".
Nah, you're thinking of Ari Something (Ari Melba?) from CNN, always quoting rap lyrics for no reason. I imagine their old viewership just wondering why this guy starts rhyming for no reason.

Oh this is all too typical. An alarming portion of police are no better than the criminals they lock up every day. Even worse are correctional officers in jails/prison. They often are even worse than the inmates, especially they way they'll treat and take advantage of female prisoners. It really does seem to me police departments prefer relatively dumb people who don't ask questions and often are corrupt and have many skeletons in their closet (far more than the most of us). The only times I've encountered really bright minded police are investigators, or police who otherwise don't just patrol the streets. The ones who aren't out there to lock people up on small charges.

Best advice given at the beginning of the video: The second they remind you that you are not under arrest and are not being detained, say "Thank you", get up and walk the eff out. Then get a hold of an attorney ASAP because shit is about to get real.
One thing people never run out of is audacity. For the life of me, I can't see how he just sat there through even the social media discussion and didn't get up. He had to think they had nothing or that he would be able to talk his way out of anything. But as a cop, he should know that in these kinds of situations, the "interviewee" is always at a disadvantage and disempowered because you don't know what information they already have.
Very perplexing how he could use personal social media accounts and share pictures and detailed real life information about himself but still think they wouldn’t have anything lol.
They were literally asking him about the layout of his house because it was in the photo evidence and I don't think he even had a clue why they were asking.
The best part about “good guys” getting grilled is that they are between a rock and a hard place. If he asks for an attorney right away, he looks guilty and knows it. So he is forced to try and sweet talk the investigator and cooperate, which is VERY risky, and this video is a great example of why. Alec Murdaugh fell into that trap too. It’s awesome! Yeah so, maybe don’t break the law if you’re law enforcement and don’t wanna get caught ;)
This is how most interrogations work. This is what makes them different to an interview. If you find yourself in an interrogation then they are asking you questions they already know the answers to… they are just getting you to tick off the points to prove yourself.

A Lawyer I once briefed was struck off for having child porn on his computer. He was a rude nasty piece of work and his incompetence drove me to enrol in Law School and become a Lawyer.
When i was a teenager growing up in north Philadelphia i was arrested probably about 10 or 11 times. Mostly because the cops knew i was one of the leaders of a group we called SCB1. They knew that anything happened in that neighborhood i was either a part of it or knew about it. They would smatch me up with some lie then start that "good cop we're your friend routine ". Each time i knew to keep my mouth shut. I never said a word but that made them mad. One time when i was 15 i was heading home at 10:15 pm because curfew was 10:30 PM during the week and i was bored. Officers luzinski and Staab pulled up next to meet just 20 seconds from my house. They started talking nicely and just BSing. Finally they said "ok we're done have a good night" i started home. They jumped out of the car and arrested me for curfew violation because it was now 10:35. Thank God my father saw the entire thing and wa just looking to see what happened. I had beef telling him the things i was getting arrested for where lies trying to get me to talk. Not all where but whatever. Now he saw this and went straight to the police station. After flipping out my father who was a big guy had the police scared. Literally. It turned out those 2 cops where no longer aloud to arrest me. After that i would give them the middle finger every time they drove by. If they witnessed me doing something they could hold me on the spot and have other police come and arrest me but they needed at least 1 person who witnessed it. They never caught me again. And i never talked to a single cop when arrested. We all knew that.
I agree that MOST women do not want photos of a man’s privates. It has NEVER helped a man in my case. It only serves as the cause of an instant unfriending, and block. Don’t be that guy. It’s simply disgusting to a decent woman
I have had women send me very graphic photos of themselves, 2 of them were "because they were shy" and in a weird way that makes sense, they knew what they wanted but didn´t want to go through the whole song and dance routene of sending 10,000 "how are you" messages to get to it. I am no prude, but even with the pictures, I have never slept with either one of the 2 shy women, but I didn´t rub it in their faces, I just asked why? Maybe if we were dating or whatever then fine, but BOTh of those women are only very casual aquainences, 1 of them was sitting in front of me in a bus and I didn´t even know until she texted me later, "I was sitting in front of you on the bus today" 'It sounds weird, but humans are funny like that sometimes, THAt is how shy she is, too shy to talk to me face to face AND so shy that she sent nude pics of herself I guess to force me to make the first move? anyway like I said, never touched ether one of them. Not because they are not sexually attractive to me, but hioly $**** if someone is THAt shy to tal kto me what the hell are we going to do eat pancakes? watch Cheers re-runs?
As a woman, I agree. We see it as disgusting, perverted, and most of all, desperate/thirsty for any man to do that. It's an automatic turn-off because that man has no respect for himself and can't control himself. We don't need to see those. It's gross.

The amount of time these criminals get, is criminal in itself. Crimes like this, especially when it involves minors, should be getting harsher sentences. 10 to 12 years for sex with a minor is disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. The amount of damage, not just psychologically but physically, that these sickos inflict on children are too great to ignore and it's long lasting damage. This type of trauma follows a child for the rest of their lives.
Especially when it's serial abuse as well. These aren't people who can be rehabilitated into society. They knew what they were doing is wrong. This isn't some guy who got caught stealing something...
@Classic Victorian for some weird reason, someone who has a gram of weed on their person get life in prison, yet someone who murdered a homeless veteran black man who is a Michael Jackson impersonators having a mental crisis on subway in New York get to walk free.
I feel lucky that my stepfather who had been abusing my at the time 10 year old niece, got 15 years, earlier this year. We were happy we weren't expecting him to get anything because we know the Justice system doesn't punish pedophiles so I will say we got Justice. As she was the only victim but it is honestly ridiculous how little the justice system seems to care about crimes against children.
You say "get up and walk out right away" if they say you aren't under arrest or being detained, but when someone does do that they are automatically looked at as suspicious or even guilty. Because the cops think and sometimes even say "if he didn't do anything wrong, why won't he answer any questions instead of running away." I think this is exactly why he is sitting there answering the questions, trying to play it cool, have a conversation like all is normal and he did nothing wrong, doesnt have anything to hide. Because he's thinking from a cop's point of view that if he leaves it will put more suspicion on him.
His sentence is 12 years which probably means 8-9 years served unless California exempts child sex crimes from parole. He will likely spend most or all of it in a SHU setting of one kind or another. Which will make time drag. No hanging out in a day room with a bunch of other people, just sitting in a cell 23 hours a day. Because SHU is expensive the prison will want him in GP if possible but we do owe inmates the best safety and frankly to protect other other inmates from getting riled up over him, which puts the whole cellblock he is in in danger. Those who want him punished get their wish, in a way. It’s going to be a long, long ride for him.
“We met in preschool, then went our separate ways” always cracks me up. Like yeah I was way too invested in apple juice and zwieback cookies and just didn’t have time for a relationship at four years old.
I've seen this interrogation before and it's wild. That detective is and absolute Rockstar. She set everything up and let him knock everything down My favorite part is where she misunderstood him thinking he was disappointed in having a boy. That crap blew her mind thinking he planned of touching his kid if it was a girl.
Unbelievable. I really feel for all his victims, including his wife and child. They all have to live with this the rest of their lives. How do you tell your child that your dad is a pedophile? I can't imagine. I hope all involved can find peace and move on.
I'm just deeply grateful that he was caught and his wife found out about it before their son was born. Raising a child in the same household with this pederast would be incredibly dangerous for the kid, once he got to be eight or ten. At least now, *that* child is safe from him, however many may not have been.
His wife should have trusted her instincts in preschool to stay the hell away from him. And even later in high school. Sometimes we ignore the 'ick feeling' red flags we instinctually have when we are younger.
My unpopular opinion: Do not get involved that young AT ALL. Focus on education and a profession. We have no knowledge of ppl before 30 maybe. Nobody needs to get married before 30. Nobody!

I used to go to high school with a guy who was like this. Constantly hitting on girls younger than him, he would bring smut magazines to school and thought they were cool, make weird remarks to girls, etc. He even made a pass at my girlfriend once when i was out of town. All the girls thought he was pervy and never dated him. Well, lo and behold he gets popped a few years after graduation for tryin to have sex with a 14 year old. All he got was 3 years probation and has to register as a “low risk” sex offender.
She played him SO well. By the time he realized he was in trouble he couldn't back out. Once you allow the conversation, ending it when it starts to go south tells the investigator things you don't want them to know. They may not be able to use your silence against you in court or for a warrant, but it can sure tell them what leads to follow.
He could end the interview whenever he wants regardless of timing. Prosecutors cannot imply your guilt based on when you choose to exercise your right to remain silent and right to legal representation. They have to prove your guilt based on the merits of the case alone.

You are definitely correct with your advice to NOT talk to police. But I'm SO GLAD these narcissistic sociopaths think they can talk their way out of being suspected.
Convenient ain't it 😂
One thing about law enforcement jobs is most if not all require you to submit to any questioning or interrogations/investigations from any law enforcement agencies without any problems.
His need that be charming FAR OUTWEIGHS his need to be smart.

She also took advantage of the misogyny the cop most likely had. Let’s be honest, a guy who cheats on his wife and talks to underage girls probably doesn’t think that highly of women, which is probably why he was given a female investigator in the first place.

@@jefferygoines it can be. Tbh, most cases involving child SA or similar crimes have nothing to do with the criminals being attracted to minors. It's normally about power, not about attraction.
It's an important distinction, because the preventative treatment these men would need is dependent on what issues they are dealing with. The therapy a pedo would need would be very different from the therapy needed by the narcissists and sadists who crave power and control.

Cause that is a pretty low sentence, I can only assume they expect him to have a horrible time in prison and not make it out alive.
I don't work in law enforcement but that's what I've noticed a lot with people like this.

For the life of me, I can't see how he just sat there through even the social media discussion and didn't get up.
This is how most interrogations work. This is what makes them different to an interview. If you find yourself in an interrogation then they are asking you questions they already know the answers to… they are just getting you to tick off the points to prove yourself.

And THEN, a few weeks later, while you're trying to survive, you have a guest spot on TV. "I need you to take a seat". And your wife and kids have to deal with this. Your kids' classmates see the show. Your wife's co-workers see the show.
The creedo is Dick=Ugly.....Boobs=Beautiful. Thats just the way it is. Seems like common sense to me. I wonder if gay guys even like dick pics?
As a woman, I agree. We see it as disgusting, perverted, and most of all, desperate/thirsty for any man to do that. It's an automatic turn-off because that man has no respect for himself and can't control himself. We don't need to see those. It's gross.
The weiner, it ain't that pretty -Bruce Rivers
Bruce your commentary on these cases are gold,
But something even more important…I respect the relationship you have with your son . Your a great father …coming from a 34 yr old who never had a father …I respect you as a man …please keep putting up new content
Same 36 no father, the bond they're building far surpasses the money
I agree
Yeah my bro got over 20 years for gun crime, but he didnt kill or even physically harm someone. These crimes should be held to a higher standard

Dam it’s gonna be hard for him in jail.. Pedo plus a cop not a great combo lol
Pedo cop. Who drove Ford Fusion…..yikes
Love that!
I hear how PC is sposto suck but I feel like I would be fine by myself. Probably a buncha characters locked up though

Apparently, yes, he is. 😅

Oh, I asked. Just means stupid.
“We met in preschool, then went our separate ways” always cracks me up. Like yeah I was way too invested in apple juice and zwieback cookies and just didn’t have time for a relationship at four years old.
I've seen this interrogation before and it's wild. That detective is and absolute Rockstar. She set everything up and let him knock everything down
My favorite part is where she misunderstood him thinking he was disappointed in having a boy. That crap blew her mind thinking he planned of touching his kid if it was a girl.
Horrible thing is that there are ones who do have kids just to abuse them. I can't understand these people.
You’re right. It took me a minute to remember this case but the detective was brilliant in reeling this creep in.
"Haha yeah I used to play baseball too."
Ten minutes later:
"Isn't this your jersey number in this screen name?"
I have to say, as a 24 year cop, my agency had a policy that if you refused to speak with IA you’re fired.
I assumed that was broadly the case, all of my neighboring departments carry that policy as well.
Stay safe!
Without a lawyer? Yeah, no. I'd take that up with the union.

Unbelievable. I really feel for all his victims, including his wife and child. They all have to live with this the rest of their lives. How do you tell your child that your dad is a pedophile? I can't imagine. I hope all involved can find peace and move on.
You tell he's dead.😊
I'm just deeply grateful that he was caught and his wife found out about it before their son was born. Raising a child in the same household with this pederast would be incredibly dangerous for the kid, once he got to be eight or ten. At least now, *that* child is safe from him, however many may not have been.
@@novallasuter5265might as well. He can't have contact if he gets out. Cop pedo and prison do not mix well.
“Why tf r u still sitting there??! “😂😂
His wife should have trusted her instincts in preschool to stay the hell away from him. And even later in high school. Sometimes we ignore the 'ick feeling' red flags we instinctually have when we are younger.
I know I was thinking that.
My unpopular opinion: Do not get involved that young AT ALL. Focus on education and a profession. We have no knowledge of ppl before 30 maybe. Nobody needs to get married before 30. Nobody!

That’s not just unpopular, it’s absurd.
@@karadiberlino😅 sorry to everyone who dies before 30 and the potential offspring. Kara says you don't deserve a full life and family until you're 30!!! 😂 yiiiikkkeees

Yep, the lawyer say if you can walk out, walk out. I always do what my doctor and lawyer tell me to do.
He could end the interview whenever he wants regardless of timing. Prosecutors cannot imply your guilt based on when you choose to exercise your right to remain silent and right to legal representation. They have to prove your guilt based on the merits of the case alone.
