I have a set of pre and post face lift wheels so thought some might find it of use. After this I'm going to put the pre face lift 6.5s rears on the front with the stock facelift rears that should be on there with possibly a 20mm spacer on the rear. Drove the car with the wider rear on the front, actually better to me. its only half inch difference but visually looks much better.
I'm happy a manufacturer or retailer might supply a set of 10mm, 15mm and 22mm hub centric spacers so I can then show all the options with each type of spacer.
Once thing I have found out today...I never want to work in a tyre centre hahaha.

    Zenki-(gata) means prefacelift.
Kouki-(gata) translates to post facelift. Or after period.
You don't have to say (gata). Zenki or kouki for short is fine. Hope it helps to differentiate generations of JDM cars 👍🏼

There's a very good reason almost all mid engined cars have a staggered set up and you'd be wise to stick with it. Rather than changing the stagger and ruining the balance of your car just to reduce the wheel arch gap you are far better off getting a set of coil-overs which enable you to set the height exactly as desired. A good set of coil-overs will also greatly improve the the handling. The face lift model went up from 205 to 215 at the back because the pre-face lift model was felt a little too oversteery. However A lot of people prefer a more neutral to oversteer balance like me and have gone up from 185 to 195 at the front but kept the 215s at the back which I find just perfect. Also people should note that the standard front springs on a face lift model are taller and give quite a bit more wheel arch gap than a pre-facefilt model. Face lift springs are also quite a bit softer. Spend some money on a good set of coil-overs and decent tyres and you won't certainly regret it but if you mess up your handling balance just for vanities sake you'll certainly regret it when you've gone off the road backwards into a ditch.

people run square setups for autox, nothing wrong with changing the car how you like it
and you can certainly end up backwards in a ditch in a stock MR2, a staggered setup cant save you from bad driving

Erik Anton Seastead square is fine if you want to do a bit of drifting but as I said there is a VERY good reason why mid engined cars run staggered setups and with a low polar moment car such as the Mr2 driving having a very unbalanced setup would be tantamount to suicide on the road.

Bossworld it’s the front that are different heights. I happen to have both an early pre face list car and a later face lift one. In fact I had to put face lift front springs from my later car onto my early one just to get it through it’s mot last year and the difference in height is quite a bit. I think I’ve dropped something like 55mm on the front when I put coil-overs on my later car.

Bossworld aftermarket 3rd party springs will likely be different from stock so you can’t really compare.

The Talentless Mr. Kipling I own both and there’s not much in it performance wise at all. As you say about 50kg difference but you can take a bit of weight out anyway and it’s hardly noticeable. You’ll also only really need the extra bracing of face lift if you fit stiffer springs. Best bracing you can fit is a front strut brace, which. Ames a difference for very little weight gain.
