Great video! I bought a '24 Meridian like yours last fall and love it so far. I'll use the dealer's first two free oil changes then it's all DIY after that. 👍
always good to see someone doing their own maintenance
Good video man! I have CX-50 too and I absolutely love the driving dynamics. Handles so well overall. I use mine for a lot of car camping Spring through Fall and it's just a perfect vehicle for my needs. Owned BMWs and Toyotas in the past and I must say, Mazda has best of both worlds.
I have a mint ‘17 Camry SE, which is a great car. I like my wife’s CX-5 a lot better.
@@ChicagoRob2 If it wasn't for my lifestyle, I would drive a Camry for rest of my life man. I owned few Camrys and they are one of the best vehicles on the planet. If you travel to any country in the world, you'll find a Camry in one form or the other (different model names). They are so reliable and easy to maintain. One of my friends bought my Camry and he drove over 100K miles and still uses it for his main commute car. It's got 200K+ miles and still looks new. Mine was 10 years older than yours.
Nice to see you pre fill the new oil filter before installation! Many people neglect doing that with a vertically mounted filter. It’s the best way to achieve instant oil pressure at startup.
Always prefill. It takes 2-3 seconds for the oil pump to fill the filter, if it’s empty when mounted.
Awesome, this is exactly the video I was looking for!
Thank you all for your support, please subscribe to my channel 🎉
Well done man! 👏 I recently bought a 24 cx50 and I found this very useful 👌
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for including that tire rotation pattern guide. As simple as it is I'd never seen it explained before
Glad it was helpful!
On the turbo models all four tail lights illuminate, but on the non-turbo models only the outer two illuminate. I saw a website (milk store ph) selling tail light assemblies which they claimed would illuminate with all four lights. There just aren't many resources out there yet for these little projects on the CX-50 so I can't tell if it's an easy job or not (There is a popular reddit post where a user modified his non-turbo tail lights to illuminate all four lights, but he said it was an extremely difficult process that wasn't worth the effort).
Yours is the first channel I found doing any sort of basic maintenance demos. If you keep it up you might wind up with a lot of views
Would love to be able to have that modification on my non-turbo premium plus CX 50!😁
Should post more maintenance videos for cx 50 I love mine
Nice job. I had my first service done at the dealer because it was free and they spilled oil all over the engine cover and didnt bother cleaning it.
Usefully video
Thanks a lot
Good work man!
Appreciate it!
Very nice video, thank you for doing this. Ignore the negative comments from the losers.
To push downward the dynamometric wrench is easier than pull upward ;)
Hows the cx50 realibility been hearing owners issues. I have cx5 2024 extreme realibility want to upgrade to cx50 but don't know how is it in long term any issues
What was the point of installing new lug nuts?, OK went with black versions. Nice!
Keep ua posted. Please, very interesting! I gonna buy this Mazda!
Nice gloves
do you repaint the area after you use your scissor jacks? they crack off the paint and leave bare metal open for rusting, I mean it takes a long time to rust like 10 years but it continues like a fuse burning till it gets in the cabin, thats why I got rid of my last car after 14 years
Please, please use jack stands along with the ramps. You can never be too safe.
missed the slots on the splash shield cover
i use penzoil ultra synethetic its way better the castrol and i use a k&n oil filter for best protection
Why do you like penzoil better out of curiosity?
@@neilnos4955 just better quality
Next time punch a hole in the bottom of the old filter before taking it off. It will drain the filter without getting it on you or your driveway
10k for a turbo is kinda crazy. First 1k miles and 5K miles after that. “Oils and filters are cheap, new engines are expensive”
I thought it was supposed to be 7200 miles for oil changes on the CX50, but I’ve been getting it done every 5000 miles on my nonturbo CX 50
oil 0 - 20w. ??
5W30
your bulong how Nm?
Sorry, I didn't understand
Thanks for the video. But the music sucks! Gave us a headache.
10K miles first oil change? 1k for my first then every 3-3.5K after that.
Mazda recommends changing within 5k miles when you drive in rough conditions. I try to do it around 5k to 6k miles.
@@AltafHossain17 mazda is only concerned to get you through the warranty
Does Mazda offer free oil changes the first year or something? How long is there warranty?
@@MarkShaw-g6x They only give me one free service. For next service I went there they charge me $100 just for oil change.
3 is a little excessive, 5k should be fine for normal use even with the turbo.
WRONG FUKIN OIL FILTER IN THE DESC FOR A TURBO BUB
This is unwatchable because of the music
Just watch it on mute if you don’t like the music
If you're triggered by the music you probably shouldn't be trying to change your own oil.
Buy some shoes.
You definitely need to kill that music 😂
