The meat seasoning paste is GOLD! The favor is consistent and perfect portion every time! No longer have to marinate in advance. Super fast and easy for soup from now on! Thank you!!
I no longer yell, "Supper is ready!" when calling my wife and kids. I just yell, "Claire!" It's been a few weeks now and even our two dogs know what it means. Works great! ;)
Hi Aaron and Claire, thanks to your sundubu paste recipe, I've been able to eat healthy despite being incredibly sick all throughout winter. Really thankful! I'd love more make ahead recipes like this that I can freeze and use for a good while... if possible!
Just made this recipe and the Korean beef stock powder really made the soup super amazing! I added mushrooms and extra ground meat to make it more filling. I liked the 2Tbls of paste to 1/2 cup of water ratio for the broth, I’ve definitely doubled and tripled the recipe to make it for more people. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe, I can now make my most favorite Korean soup!
I made the mistake of adding too many vegetables to mine… Diluted it too much. And my local Korean grocer recommended a seafood-based seasoning because I’m not huge on beef… I loved it!
Thank you SO much for this recipe! I've made this several times and especially love it with dumplings. Also, fusion tacos are a way of life where I live (Houston), and I've combined this soup base with ground meat and topped the taco with red cabbage, avocado, gochujang mayo drizzle, and cilantro. Out of this world delicious!
I love your videos. My favorite part is when you are explaining with your hands hahaha and of course, when you call Claire and she reviews the food. Very entertaining.
mmm it's another favorite!! i never knew about oyster and fish sauce in there but MSG is the key!! i like using dashida, but sometimes i use chicken powder - it works really well too!!
Aaron I don't usually leave youtube comments but I did try your recipe to make the paste with some replacement ingredients and they are so good! I am so happy I can just get the base out from the freezer and make myself tofu stew anytime I want, I don't dare say it's as good as the restaurants but I made it pretty dang close, thank you for sharing.
As a Mexican 😂 I used chile de Arbol instead of Korean chili flakes…. Wow 🔥 I went to Greenland Market (Korean supermarket in Las Vegas) and I remade this recipe with Korean Chile Flakes and It tastes so delicious and authentic to Korean Cuisine. Sometimes I do with what I have but after remaking this accurately, truly delicious 🤤 Please follow this guy and his wife, they know what they are talking about. Truly delicious.
I made this recipe and it is so amazingly good! The cooking process of the paste was super fun and the house was smelling great the entire time I was making it! I froze it and have been serving it to my family bit by bit and they love it! Today we finally finished the last of the sundubu jigae paste I made and I'm definitely making this again!!!
This is by far the best and easiest version of sundubu Jjigae I have yet to find! Looks really delicious and I can't wait to make it! Thank you Aaron and Claire!❤
Tried this the first time without dashida and I understood so much Claire the taste isn’t the same at all !! Tried it again since I bought Dashida and it taste so different like x10000 better ! Thanks for your easy recipe
Holy crap! I just made the seasoning paste and I can already tell that this is going to make SPECTACULAR sundubu jigae! It is delicious. I'm having this and bulgogi tonight and I'm already looking forward to it. Thanks Aaron and Claire!
@@AaronandClaire Absolutely, Plan is to make my base sundubu jjigae paste/seasoning and store packets of it in zip-loc bag in the freezer. What a fantastic idea.
Me and my dad tried restaurant Sundubu jigae for the first time and we both loved it even though we don't like spicy food. It was flavorful and makes u wanna eat more white rice. Imma try this recipe thanks for the video!
I'm only 15 and I tried this recipe, I also added some dumplings because we have it in the freezer, and the recipe is really good. Thanks for sharing it:))
I mold the seasoning paste into balls and prefreeze it on a tray then I put all the frozen seasoned balls in a large ziplock bag. Thanks for sharing! Super yummy
This is my favourite way to eat tofu, and I'm always happy when I find this prepared base in the freezer. My only suggestion is to check how hot your gochugaru is before committing to one cup! I accidentally bought the hottest flakes, and the first time I made this the heat was unbelievable! Now I use less flakes and my mouth is happier.
Aaron always makes my Korean dish dream come true, even tho I live in the UK and we barely have authentic Korean restaurant here (or at least in Liverpool). But who needs restaurant when Aaron teaches us how to home cook it amirite?
Aaron! Where can I find that t-shirt that says “I am rooting for you”? Also I love your guy’s channel so much, so fun and informative. Would love to see vlog style videos too!
This recipe is great 👍It tastes really good. I followed exactly the same recipe and stored in freezer. I just put 1 packet in the fridge & cook it the next morning. So easy & 😋😋😋 Tqsm for sharing such great recipe 👍😉
I love it, it's really something else now that I think about it: someone who speaks PERFECT English but with a delightful accent. That combination is actually extremely rare when I think of how few people I can identify as being the same. The accent normally accompanies faltering, slightly broken English-- not almost perfect English! I'm going to look out more vigilantly for more people who are magical in this way too. Charming, I love listening to it you sound otherworldly at the exact same time you sound like a college professor! I pay complete attention to your instructions whilst feeling a sense of magic. So wonderfully weird! It's what makes you unique, not just on RUclips but on planet Earth. xoxo
I just happen to have all the ingredients tonight so I made this. The aroma is wonderful! I made a bowl for me with dumplings. It’s seriously better than any restaurant. Much more convenient than making it fresh Everytime too. Thank you for the amazing recipe!
I’ve tried this recipe + your 10 min tteokboki. Both delicious. My rice cakes came with its own sauce which I will nvr use again bc yours is FAR more delicious and flavorful. Much thanks!
Aaron, I have tried a couple of your recipes and really enjoyed them. I actually went to H-Mart and bought myself a proper wok. Thanks for teaching me more Korean recipes than my Korean mother! (She refused to teach me because she says I am useless in a kitchen) X-D
I substituted the ground pork with baby portobello and king oyster mushrooms ground up in a food processor and it was just as great as the original recipe!
I made the paste tonight. Will try the stew tomorrow! Instead of storing in ziplocks, I placed them in Ice cube trays. I cube is equivalent to 1 tbsp. Then i put the tray inside a big zip lock
That was amazing to watch. Your sense of humor and cooking information blended perfectly. And I love the end where Claire does the dishes. I don't have a wok, but I do have lard, so it should even out.
This stew is one of my favorite Korean dishes ♥️ I've only had it at restaurants, so I'm so happy that you posted this video up. The true taste is expressed on Claire's face 😊 That's always my favorite part of your videos. I'm going to attempt to make this🤞🏼
Excited to make a batch of this. Ramadan fasting starts next week. Gna make it less spicy than usual so I can have it for breakfast. Haemul soondubu is one of my favorite meals. Tastes amazing & don't need another meal for the rest of the day. Also it's super comforting during my period. Feels very indulgent but it may as well be medicine :)
tysm for all of your recipes and videos, it makes it so easy for me to cook the asian food that i love so much but I dont want to leave the house to have !
Thank you so much for this! I have made this 3x this week already following your recipe! I never thought I could make this at home until I found your video. Thank you for making this super easy and adaptable.
I made this paste over the weekend. The only difference is i replaced sugar with stevia and mirin with rice vinegar. It still taste awesome. 😊👍 I pulled out the paste for the 2nd time today. I added luncheon meat and a bit of kimchi to the jjigae and it taste awesome! Thanks Aaron and claire! Next try: Aaron's Kimchi jjigae 😊👍 Hello from tropical Jakarta Indonesia! 😊🤗

Mirin and rice vinegar are totally different things, one is sweet and the other strongly sour.
