Sonic feels like walkin' today. Yes it''s the puzzle platformer which has many Sonic fans up in arms though I don't know why. Anyhoo, we take out the first 2 labyrinths.
Clement: "WHY THE HELL WOULDNT THEY JUST KILL HIM AND OFF HIM! EGGMAN!" Eggman: NO! THE BOOTS ARE ESSENTIAL TO THE PLOT! GO BACK TO THE GAME! Rraghgragh
You have to remember, this was a time of simpler games, and game gear seemed to have a lot if simple Sonic games. From that perspective, and especially for a little kid, this looks fun. P.S, this system ALSO has a TV attachment! Too bad there's no non-cable TV in Canada anymore...
I don't know why Sonic fans think a game where Sonic doesn't go fast is a bad game. I personally think that's very stupid, it's like saying a Pokemon game that's not an RPG is bad. Look at Pokemon Shuffle, or Rumble. Sonic Labyrinth may as well be one of those games for the Sonic series, just not as good as some of the main series sonic games. In fact, I think this game is pretty fun.
Sonic Fans are one of the most idiotic species that can be found on the Internet. If they see someone hating on a game, they'll hate on it too even if they might haven't even played it themselves... They also think Sonic is only about speed, which is why they like bad games like Generations and Unleashed day stages and think this is one of the worst Sonic game ever made... The problem is that, like the majority of kids today, they can't seem to have their own opinion on things. Instead, they have to have the same opinion on things as the rest of the group...
VideoTape That's my exact opinion, but I don't think that the Generations Modern or Unleashed Day gameplay isn't bad. It's just the Adventure or Classic (from the 1990's) gameplay is far better (like the difference between Sonic 1 and Sonic 2)
+Francis Coppin I don't get what you're saying? Sonic Generations isn't a combination of different games, it's a game which uses the same engine as Unleashed and has the same stiff, awkward and limited controls as that game. Same shitty gameplay, corridor levels, game can't make its mind on whether it wants to be 2D or 3D.... Which is too bad because the concept of revisiting levels from past games was a really great idea.... "by default its like tour saying adventure 2 adventure 1 colors etc are all bad"....... How did you ever come to that conclusion..
Even in Sonic 1 it wasn;t really about speed, only in green hill zone you blasted through, then after that you had to do careful platforming I like sonic games, even some of the ones people say are bad like this, sonic r and sonic 3d but the majority of sonic fanboys are probably the worst type of fanboys you can come across, if you have a different opinion to them and they'll go full autism mode on you
Oh Clement, haven't you ever heard of villain's honor? Any villain who gains an arch enemy must put their overall goal aside to deal with the arch enemy. Even if your victory is easily in reach, you where would the satisfaction be if your rival is still there? Think Invader Zim, no Dib=no fun. Also, you can't just off him in his sleep! Where's the challenge, the victory, in something like that? I enjoy watching your LPs, by the way.
4:25 What the story seems to overlook is that apparently Sonic can't catch Robotnik even WITH his super speed, at least according to the endings of most of the side-scrolling games.
Great LP so far, Clement! I didn't think I'd enjoy an LP of Sonic Labyrinth so much, but you DEFINITELY made it a lot more entertaining. I loved your reading and dissection of the game's plot. Anytime you find an excuse to use your Eggman voice, It's always hilarious. I believe at least the interior of Sonic's house was seen in the Opening of Sonic and the Secret Rings. I loved that your opinion of this game was very different than most other people. That's what I like about your LPs. Great job!
I haven't played this game in about a decade. I've gotten close, but I've never been able to complete this game. I actually enjoyed it a lot! I also found the music in Sonic Labyrinth appealing.
I actually think it's a neat concept for a Sonic game. It sticks to what makes Sonic, Sonic in that you roll around and use momentum based physics to bounce around pinball like arenas. The only thing missing is him running fast, and really, when you think about it that's not what Sonic is all about in the first place.
Sonic Labyrinth Stage makes my young self say: "ugh. please go faster." There are some sonic games that can make most people say that. Sonic 06 Mach Stage makes me say: "OMG, why can't I stop or slow down?!" Sonic 06 is the ONLY SONIC GAME that has EVER made me utter those words (and apparently, several other people). That should say something about Sonic 06. Labyrinth is playable at least. Thanks Great Clement.
Eggman can sneak into Sonic's home, meaning he knows WHERE Sonic lives. And he doesn't kill Sonic. He also TELLS Sonic how to remove the slowed down shoes. Wow, that 300 IQ truly is wasted.
Clearly Robotnik was upset with Sonic for screwing over his plans, so he decided to just ruin his life with annoyances. Also one theory for why this is a better idea than just straight killing Sonic : He has too many extra lives. Either that or doing something so simple is beneath ol egghead.
i noticed the whole boot argument, and thought that at first.... but then realised... most people dont wear there shoes to bed....maybe you could slip in and grab the boots, just before sonic notices... but if you go far enough into his house, he aware enough to avoid any attack even when sleeping, since he super speed even when he barefoot.
Clement: The speed shoes give you seizure vision look away if you want! Me: Pfft...Bring it! *puts on sunglasses* *seizure vision starts* Me: *Rolls on the floor foaming at the mouth*
@ClementJ642 Your voice acting of Sonic and Robotnik would probably do well with some of my Sonic remakes and LPs. I make a good Jason Griffith, Long John Baldry, and Mike Pollock impression, but yours appear to be slightly better than mine. :)
I forgot that this game actually existed! One of my friends had it on the Game Gear (he was the only other friend with a Game Gear that I knew...) I had the awesome Sonic games, like Sonic 2 and Sonic Chaos... And my friend's parents bought him this lame game. We exchanged games for some time and I must admit that kinda had fun with Sonic Labyrinth even though it was worst than my Sonic games... Thanks for the nostalgia moment!
@Regrocks81 "I dont like the way you attacked Chris and Cosmo!" "It's one thing to take them prisoner and threaten them, but when you actually hurt somebody, that's going too far!" ...Yeah 300 IQ right there... If you know what I am talking about :D
Awnsers to ALL your question: Eggman's life is useless without Sonic. Of course he doesn't wanna' kill 'em or take over the world he wants to have fun and spend most of his time on Sonic
Shadow doesn't need guns, but it was a nice mechanic and done well in the game. Also, Sonic Shuffle was made by the same people who made Mario Party, so DUH
Who would think this is one of their favs? It's just not as bad as some people think it is. I sure as hell rather play this than Sonic Adventure 1 or 2. Shooter, fishing and treasure hunting stages make those games less like a Sonic game than this.
It's short for "fanfiction," which is basically the result of a fan of a tv show, movie, video game, or book, writing a new story using the characters or world of the original story.
Doctor Robotnik wants to ENSLAVE the area Apparently he doesn't want to kill them Although this is retcon'd by the fact that he puts spikes and crushing object everywhere, but maybe he had a change of heart
I always assumed that sonic lived in a hole he dug in the forest so he could live off a measly $2 a week he gets from Yuji naka for being a good little hedgehog.
Never heard of this game. I was kinda expecting a marble madness type game, which I guess it sorta is but not really. Looks like a game I would enjoy playing myself. I don't see why people hate it so much except for it not being a sidescrolling platformer. The gameplay looks solid.
I just now noticed three similarites with Sonic 4 and Labyrinth 1. Sonic is slow as hell 2. Bad physics 3. The games are really easy (both have 16 acts / boss fights; if you exclude Sonic 4's final zone)
Interesting and different for the series, but it's a little too short and confusing. The plot is a bit silly. I mean, I was like "Robotnik, if you hate Sonic so much, why don't you kill him in his sleep." I guess he seems to enjoy fucking around with him.
You honestly think he built a giant labyrinth and robots to run around in it just for fun? When he could just kill sonic at last and be successful in building an empire? What logic is that? Actually, scratch that. I'd probably do that too. I swear shits and giggles is the answer to everything.
exactly. it wasnt ment for sonic to decide im gonna walk today. it was ment for sonic to retrieve his source of sped back instead of r robotniks look alike slow shoes.
3:53
Manual: "It was as if his feet were stuck to the ground! He could barely run!"
Speed: 825 km/h
Sonics a fast guy even with the boots 😅
The plot for this game sounds like something that would work for an episode of The Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog
It really does sound like an AoStH episode.
"My new EGGOMATIC SLOW-GO BOOTNIKS will sap the speed of that heinous hedgehog...
...PERMANENTLY!"
Clement, you should be the voice actor of Dr. Eggman if the current voice actor retires. I give your voice imitation on him a 10/10!! ^_^
***** My opinion, not yours.
Clement: "WHY THE HELL WOULDNT THEY JUST KILL HIM AND OFF HIM! EGGMAN!"
Eggman: NO! THE BOOTS ARE ESSENTIAL TO THE PLOT! GO BACK TO THE GAME! Rraghgragh

VideoTape (Oi forgot to add this) I don't care if Sonic is the speed of molasses, as long as the game plays well, as a GAME.
+Francis Coppin I don't get what you're saying? Sonic Generations isn't a combination of different games, it's a game which uses the same engine as Unleashed and has the same stiff, awkward and limited controls as that game. Fun fact: The Japanese manual states that the Slow-Down Boots also nullified Sonic’s ability to jump.
4:25 What the story seems to overlook is that apparently Sonic can't catch Robotnik even WITH his super speed, at least according to the endings of most of the side-scrolling games.
At least this game functions like a game should and isn't iron-laden with glitches and plotholes.
Sonic does have a house. It's been shown in Sonic Battle, and (I think) Sonic And The Secret Rings. Maybe Sonic Chronicles, too? I'm not sure.
"Clement if sonic died the sonic series will end forever"
Even though he died in Sonic 06?
And the Sonic series died there.
It was only by a miracle that it came back from that train wreck.
it never happened.. *insane murmuring* never..happened...
+baconater4000 You're kinda right. The ending has Elies blowing out the flame of Solaris, ultimately reconing the game from the timeline.
@@TheMamaluigi300 Damn. The game was so bad that it retconned itself. That's rare.
Great LP so far, Clement! I didn't think I'd enjoy an LP of Sonic Labyrinth so much, but you DEFINITELY made it a lot more entertaining. I loved your reading and dissection of the game's plot. The way you feel about Sonic Labyrinth is the same way I feel about the werehog. It really wasn't that bad if you think about it.
I agree with clement. People be exaggerating these days. This game is not that bad.
Patrick Smith just like with forces
You actually have decent commentary. I appreciate this video.
Clement your voice acting is AWESOME XD
Sonic has a house?! I thought he was a hobo.
Yeah, I thought that he was a hobo too. Actually, I think he's more like a nomad. A Sega Nomad. *gets shot for lame joke*
+TheMamaluigi300 I don't get it.
+MasterDisaster64 Sonic and the Secret Rings is the only time his House is showed
+ShadowDragon23 And the Archie comic's.
He’s at tails crib
Wow, you do a great Sonic impression. You should be his next voice actor.
LMFAOO, all the commentary AND that quote made me die laughing. unlike sonic when a robot was is his house. xD
You can see the inside of Sonic's house at the beginning of Secret Rings.
I haven't played this game in about a decade. I've gotten close, but I've never been able to complete this game. I actually enjoyed it a lot! I also found the music in Sonic Labyrinth appealing.
I laughed so hard when you read the game's plot. XD
You do voices well, as demonstrated here and in your MMX playthroughs.
I actually think it's a neat concept for a Sonic game. It sticks to what makes Sonic, Sonic in that you roll around and use momentum based physics to bounce around pinball like arenas. The only thing missing is him running fast, and really, when you think about it that's not what Sonic is all about in the first place.
13:52 "If it didn't already give you a FUCKING SEIZURE, JESUS CHRIST!" -Johnny
Sonic Labyrinth Stage makes my young self say: "ugh. please go faster."

gotta love those seizure inducing lights X_X
I thank you for that warning about the seizure vision Clement.
im glad i watched this.
This game proves those Air Jordan commercials correct...it's gotta be the shoes!
I love this game
this game is boring. but I'd rather be bored by a game than be pissed off
Same here
This is actually the smartest thing Eggman has ever done....
Clearly Robotnik was upset with Sonic for screwing over his plans, so he decided to just ruin his life with annoyances.
Also one theory for why this is a better idea than just straight killing Sonic : He has too many extra lives.

oh gotta love when games have seizure inducing power ups.
and wow, you're breezing the game!
also, have you tried SegaSonic the Hedgehog?
It was a Game Gear game, it was 8-bit, cut it some slack in the graphics department. This is actually pretty impressive for the Game Gear to pull off.
@ClementJ642 I love it when you do impressions. They are stupid and funny, but somehow accurate.
That voice is like a cross between Eggman and the Ice King.
This truly isn't the worst sonicteam can do, just wait till sonic drift, the paradox of paradoxes...
Eggman #1: The Bot-Barian! Eggman #2: The Hermit King!
Oh dear... it begins...
Sonics house is in the secret rings
Well, at least Eggman didn't record him singing in the shower, and then try to embarrass him into surrendering. 9_9
I grew up with this game its fun
@ClementJ642
Your voice acting of Sonic and Robotnik would probably do well with some of my Sonic remakes and LPs.
I make a good Jason Griffith, Long John Baldry, and Mike Pollock impression, but yours appear to be slightly better than mine. :)
Holy c... the epileptic power ups are just that.

No, this game makes Sonic 06 look like a masterpiece.
@Regrocks81 I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought this when the plot was first explained to me.
awesome
@Regrocks81 "I dont like the way you attacked Chris and Cosmo!" "It's one thing to take them prisoner and threaten them, but when you actually hurt somebody, that's going too far!" ...Yeah 300 IQ right there... If you know what I am talking about :D

Sonic Labyrinth....the game that started the downfall of our Spikey Blue "Do-the-Dew" hero. Good luck, Clement. Godspeed. ^_^
Shadow doesn't need guns, but it was a nice mechanic and done well in the game.
Also, Sonic Shuffle was made by the same people who made Mario Party, so DUH

robotnik:"why? WHY DIDN'T I BREAK HIS LEGS!!"
Oh, and by all of the Chaos Emeralds, it means only 5 of them.
That vision didn't give me a seizure
Doctor Robotnik wants to ENSLAVE the area
Apparently he doesn't want to kill them
Although this is retcon'd by the fact that he puts spikes and crushing object everywhere, but maybe he had a change of heart
I like your Robotnic voice.
puzzle platfromer cool
You can also craft and use diffferent weapons.
I actually knew that.
I'm not sure why I typed it in there in the 1st place but thanks for correcting me.
My mistakes.
That...Was actually a very good Sonic voice.Better than the show's.
Thanks for the seizure-vision warning clement! Lol
I always assumed that sonic lived in a hole he dug in the forest so he could live off a measly $2 a week he gets from Yuji naka for being a good little hedgehog.
will you ever do a gameplay of the megaman battle network series
Your sonic voice made me bust up laughing xD
Nice sockpuppet dude.
This game really isn't that bad. It's really simple, but not that bad.
Never heard of this game. I was kinda expecting a marble madness type game, which I guess it sorta is but not really.
Looks like a game I would enjoy playing myself. I don't see why people hate it so much except for it not being a sidescrolling platformer. The gameplay looks solid.
i bet sonic had his magic running shoes at the dry cleaners.i bet most of you didnt know that its his shoes that gives him those powers
Great video game plot, or GREATEST video game plot?
3:11 What about the first storybook-style cutscene in Secret Rings?
I'm really intrigued by this game, but is it really worth the $4.99 price tag on the 3DS e-shop?
@99redlink I have to agree, but calling it anything better than "mediocre" is more praise than it deserves.
well yeah, the time traveling was a little off. but still , i really liked where they were going with the storyline in that game.
Ever try the Transcript feature?
sounds like the first story in sonic archives volume 2
cool eggman voice
He does a good robotnik voice!
SONIC UNLEASHED: What's the point of taking over the world if there isn't any chalenge
I just now noticed three similarites with Sonic 4 and Labyrinth
1. Sonic is slow as hell
2. Bad physics
3. The games are really easy (both have 16 acts / boss fights; if you exclude Sonic 4's final zone)
@zeoLightning what's so bad about sonic genesis?
Sonic Labyrinth> Sonic 06
Interesting and different for the series, but it's a little too short and confusing. The plot is a bit silly. I mean, I was like "Robotnik, if you hate Sonic so much, why don't you kill him in his sleep." I guess he seems to enjoy fucking around with him.
WHEN ARE YOU GONNA START YOUR SONIC LABYR-
oh, right.
so this is actually going to be shorter than your sonic chaos LP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its basically one giant special stage.
Oh okay thx
..and they had the balls to put this on the 3DS virtual Console
You honestly think he built a giant labyrinth and robots to run around in it just for fun? When he could just kill sonic at last and be successful in building an empire? What logic is that?
Actually, scratch that. I'd probably do that too.
I swear shits and giggles is the answer to everything.
giant enemy crab. Hit its weak point for massive damage
exactly. it wasnt ment for sonic to decide im gonna walk today. it was ment for sonic to retrieve his source of sped back instead of r robotniks look alike slow shoes.
