I just got a 2023 Elantra sel brand new,I personally don’t like the new front in of the car but glad to hear that they are making all trims with LED headlights.

Something I recommend to people considering an Elantra is to buy the high end Hybrid package. Certainly the vehicle is more expensive than cheaper trims; but you save so much in fuel that it winds up costing you the same or less. At current 2023 fuel prices, an average driver will save about $50 per month in fuel. That pays for the hybrid option in 4 years, assuming gas prices don't go up. And they ALWAYS go up. I own a 2023 Elantra Hybrid, and I love it!

This is totally WRONG.
The difference in price between the luxury and the hybrid (same identical trim, but one is hybrid) is $2500 +13% tax + recent (6.49% rete on financing for 6 years) = $3418
The difference in fuel economy is 1.5 liters per 100 kilometers.
1.5 liters x $1.50 per litter (today prices) = $2.25 of savings per 100 kilometers of driving. Divide it x 100, and you are saving 0.0225 cents per kilometer.
When you divide the $3418 that you by the way paid in advance... to 0.0225 (your savings per kilometer) = 151 911 km's. to brake even on your investment!
An average driver in Ontario drives 18000 km's annually. That gives you - 8.5 years of driving to get ROI...
I will also mention, that hybrid batteries last 6-8 years and cost close to 10K to replace.
I would have gotten the Preferred Hybrid in 2021 - but alas it was not available in the province by then until the next model year. The base one got a boost in content - geared transmission, independent suspension, LED, dual heat - it made good sense. Residual is not "higher" but they said you will get like 6 commercial offers pronto - and in my case I was predicting very low mileage so that is ideal for those high use vendors. In Canada it also boosts a lot of the factory components (expensive powertrain stuff) by another 3 years as well. The operating costs - they say correctly the engine is a non-turbo and not under duress -- so it should last an long time with low cost.
The petro-only model if you drive in Normal or Smart can do very .. very well. In suburban city I get 5.3-5.8L/100k and winter it does drop to closer to 8 or 8.5L/100k (or gas tank range .. 730k in summer and a tad over 600k in winter when I fill up)@@a.tantchev3720

Hey Gabi and Mike! I just want to let you know that you guys are doing a great job and helping the viewers with details and info.
Also, everything is great with Hyundai Elantra, at least from my opinion, except for the key fob feels plastic, light, giant, and cheap when we hold them, comparing with other standard key fobs in market. BUT the only thing I came across that is impressive with the key fob is look it at a horizontal point it actually seems the Hyundai logo itself. BravoO👏 👏

Phone Answer - it is also a call end button (at least the manual calls it the "call, answer, hang up" button). So you do not really need the second button - so go use that "star button" for something other than hang up.

The heated steering wheel starts on the “Preferred” trim.

Luxury models haven’t yet been shipped to dealer lots in Canada. Info is on the website but the Luxury just has leather seats, adaptive cruise, LED taillights, Bose sound system, wireless charging pad, 60/40 rear seats with cup holders as the main options added. See if those options are worth the extra $2000, for most I’d say it’s not. The preferred tech and luxury look basically the exact same on the outside this year for the first time ever. Same rims too
@@Awsme I found that adaptive cruise and auto hold will myself driving much comfort and less stressful especially when I am driving for a longer distance, and it will be use for 3 people family car so I want small compact comfort unit for a long time use. I wanted to see some the actual shape where does functions located in the car itself and how would they pop up on display to see is it easy to get access for safety driving.
@@david_g_yoon In your case the luxury may be worth getting then. Dealers in Canada are getting the luxury and preferred trims first, so luxury models should be on dealer lots in the next month or so for you to have a look
canada does not get 360 camera, forward sensors, forward parking sensors ..

I find it odd Hyundi continues with the room divider. More people complain about it than say they like it. Hyundi normaly quick to listen and make changes appears to be more concerned about the grill.

Preferred which is Canada's equivalent of SEL. Sadly Canada gets a few features taken out in comparison.

The trunk is large enough, but because of the slope of the back window the trunk opening is very small. There might be room in the trunk for an object like a box but it may not fit through the opening. This seems to be a problem that is common to modern cars as aerodynamics have priority over practicality. Nice car, though.

Nice car, if I can even find one in stock. Most dealerships in my area have row after row of SUV's on the lot but compact sedans nowhere to be seen.
no SUVs even here - granted this was in late July, but 2 sold Elantras and 3 Tuscons - lots of Genesis (2 electric even) but they said they were all sold.
