It's a great car. I have a 2022 Elantra Hybrid and don't regret it. I rented every car in the class. The prius gets slightly better mileage but the Elantra beats it in every other way (adaptive cruise and steering assist less jerky are the big ones but it also looks better). I would recommend the Elantra Limited trim package over the blue. It gets you a better LCD screen, leather heated and cooled seats, better sound system and safety features.
Thanks, I never realized I had all those functions either. That was super helpful and I'm totally stealing your blue lights idea, so perfect. I absolutely love my 2023 Elantra.
I am purchasing this car in a few days. The dealership is holding it for me. This is by far the most informative video I have found. I am blown away by all the customizable features and extras!! I am so excited to get this car. I have this video saved to refer back to when I need to figure out the settings after buying the car in the next few days. Thank you!!
Got the 2023 Intense Blue Elantra N DCT two days ago. This car is absolutely INSANE. I can't believe how quick this car is. It carves the corners like hot knife on butter. I love the inside of this car as well. The seats, the ambient lightings, the dash and info screen....everything about it. I don't care if the side panels have high-quality materials or not. I don't sit in the car stroking the doors like an idiot so i don't care. Everything i need and care about, Hyundai knocked it out of the park. I spent my 750 miles back home to Dallas by creating a symphony of burples to the delight of youngsters on the road 👌
Me too. I am still having problems with the up and down buttons on the right hand side of the steering wheel Maybe it is the way I am pressing them? Otherwise I really like the car.
Oh and also... If you happen to use the car's map for navigation in this model the compass page on the dashboard turns into directions for the driver to use and know when to turn.... It's pretty useful... You should definitely try using the map more ...

Amazing presentation, just the right pace! Wasn't sure if that in-depth review of the settings existed, but heck you made it!! So useful for me during my pre-buying process!
Fantastic, this is exactly what I was looking for. Bought a Elantra 2023 SEL c, and you answered every single question. I don't need to read the manual now. Thanks.
Smart drive mode acts as a dynamic driving mode and allows the use of the “Economy” setting. It prioritizes less aggressive driving at the cost of lower accelerator response curve. ECU also biases towards lower aggression accumulation, TCS limits acceleration to prevent loss of energy from wheelslip and Steering response is relaxed to reduce energy losses in straight lines. “Normal” mode is a balance between response and fuel economy. It provides more power and accelerator sensitivity. “Sport” waits longer to downshift, providing more time in the powerband and providing more engine breaking. TCS kicks in at a higher threshold, causing more potential to slip, but more power to the ground. Steering and accelerator response curves are more aggressive, providing more control with less movement. “S” on the shifting column allows quick access to sport mode when you need it. It does everything that the Driving Sport mode does, just temporarily through the gearshift. You can go between “D” and “S” at any time, but when in manual mode, you need to shift to “D” to get access to “S” mode again. It is useful when driving in Smart mode, and you need an immediate boost in power. Smart mode uses the driver’s cornering habits, acceleration input, and other factors to determine what the driving conditions are, and adapts economy vs response vs performance. It is horrible when trying to go from a dead stop to highway speeds, due to it trying to hang on to Eco for as long as possible before it realizes you need power, so it switches to normal, and the response curve change in the accelerator makes it think you are flooring it, so it switches to sport. That is why the “S” Shift mode is available, so you get power when you expect it. “+” and “-“ are your Manual shifting modes, they are useful when going downhill or uphill in the 1st or 2nd gear, though others can be used. The car will automatically downshift if the RPMs drop too low. The car should also prevent you from shifting too high and stalling, but will only automatically upshift if the engine redlines.
U have no idea how smart mode works😂 it only switches to sport from Eco when your driving to slow while merging and it senses your going to slow if there is a car going faster than u so u don't get rear ended cutting people off driving to slow.
@@christopherhernandez2434 I’ve done research and testing. The only thing that needs updating in my previous comment is that the S mode on the shifter stands for both Sport and Shiftmatic. Sport mode is active when you go from D to S. It shows up as S on the gauge cluster Gear indicator. Shiftmatic mode (I’ve also heard it called Sportmatic) is active when shifting from S to either + or -. It shows as the current gear you are in.
you did an awesome review on all of the functions - I just recently purchased this exact car and confused by all of the buttons lol I always like using the apple play as well
Auto Hold is super cool. I got stuck in traffic for a LONG time. Over two hours. I kept putting it in neutral and ripping the e brake when I came to a stop so I could stretch, but not have to shift through all the gears every time.
Thanks!!! The more I watch this the more I learn about these same features on my 2023 Elantra Convenience. I just got 2 weeks ago. Reading the manual isn’t my thing.
The smart mode is for merging. if it senses a car coming faster than your speed merging into the lane it switches to sport from eco mode so you wont get rear ended. Yes this car is smart af. The sensors on this car are impressive.
Fantastic video, helped so much as I’m a new owner of the 2023 Elantra SEL convenience package. Have had it about 2mths. No issue till yesterday. My car is parked in a lot all day, yesterday was hot, got out of work, car play wouldn’t work or the cord. Have you come across this issue? Today it works fine but a stranger thing is, I push radio and nothing happens. Before yesterday everything was great. Really not an issue with the radio as I don’t use it. But since it’s a new car I thought I’d ask. Also as summer is coming am I going to have an issue with my car play cord not working cause it gets too hot? Again wondering if you or anyone have had this issue and if so, what have you done. Thanks in advance 😀
This was helpful, thank you! Though the A/C ventilation system is weird to me because I can’t seem to get the air flow position right in mine. I just recently got a 2023 Elantra and I’m still getting used to it. Mine though has an old manual parking brake lever instead of the button option that you have..which I’m kind of jealous of. Can you do a video showing how to install a front license plate safely on this model?
Should have come with a plastic plate that needs to be installed before the front license. That's how mine was. Haven't checked my new elantra, but I saved the one from my 21 elantra

Love the video! Great content and information! One question tho, is there anyway to switch the tachometer and speedometer positions on the dash display so there are on the proper sides like ever car I’ve driven? (Tachometer on the left and Speedometer on the right) and if not have you noticed it or has it bugged you at all?
Trying to figure out how to use my new car after upgrading from a dinosaur. Thank you. Funny thing is my phone was low and the salesman showed me the wireless charging on my way out, blew my mind.
So there isn’t a feature that it beeps when you are reversing into a parking spot? I know it beeps when something is behind you on the side.. but not if you are backing when you are near a wall?
You missed the button. It is on the driver side and it is on the side of the console right next to your right knee. I have the 23 hybrid and mine has this button. I’m not sure what it does.
It is an open space that you can use to mount a cell phone to. I don't recommend it, I've tried it twice with 2 devices and it fell both times. Better off using the wireless charging mat under the AC controls and in front of the shifter. Soooo more or less it's a free place to do with as you wish.
This was so helpful! Just bought the ‘23 SEL Conv. & was so excited about the infotainment & cluster. I’m sad that there is no front camera option though. My husband has a ‘23 Nissan kicks SR and it has front camera option so I’ve gotten used to that 🥲
Question when you get into your car, you hit the start button your car chimes in dings and carries on for a few minutes. Is there any way of turning that off?
When I first bought my car I had a full screen of my back up camera and now it's split screen with media/radio, weather, map, calendar, compass, and clock. I went into settings to the split screen disabled the clock, compass, calendar, and weather. But radio/media and map are default and grayed out. Please help!!
Just wanted to ask you “S” beside d mode is always highlight with white color right? I just got confused that i may have tuned on something, i never noticed s in white color even with - + sign, does it come by default like this only? Even in your video its white and when you put in sports mode then it turned dark white
