Jesse Plemons plays an ultranationalist militant in a chilling, uncredited role. His character is part of a harrowing sequence involving a mass grave, where he threatens journalists documenting the scene. Eventually, his character meets a violent end when Sammy, portrayed by Stephen McKinley Henderson, intervenes and runs him over with a truck. While this heroic act saves the journalists, Sammy himself is tragically killed by a stray bullet during the escape
You don't find out. It seems Jesse was hit worse than the other guy, who kind of got a glancing blow. The third soldier should have been watching their backs.
Haven't seen the film because I'm not sure it's my bag, but I've seen this scene loads of times on here. Jesse Plemons' micro expressions are superb. The little facial tick and the way he says "What" in the "What kind of American are you?" are so understated. Also, kt's clearly not the child's first rodeo the way they get in the car and sit/lie down. Clearly been shot at before.
Is it as impressive as when an average european leaves their own country at least once in their lifetime to travel abroad? Cause statistically europeans are way less traveled than Americans, and thats not even considering how many europeans don't leave the european continent.
@@DesertStateInEU Not even correct at all. Only 29% of Americans have been abroad. The Average German has been to 8 countries, average French has been to 5. It's logic really, Europe is a continent with minimal border restrictions and free travel, many people live nearby another country. Thousands of Swiss go to France, Germany or Italy every week to do grocery shopping.
@@DesertStateInEU Not correct at all. Europeans travel all the time. They are astonished at how few Americans even have a passport. The percentage bumped up after 9/11 but it still falls far behind the rest of the developed world. I'm actually not surprised. Mainstream media rarely focuses on what's happening outside the US. And most Americans can't identify a continent on a map, let alone a country. They are an ignorant lot about anything beyond their shores. Americans are indoctrinated to believe that everything they need is right here at home. Why leave? I'm actually okay with this, as so many American tourists are not good ambassadors for their nation. People overseas often laugh at them. They're too loud, too fat, too rude, wearing the typical tourist uniform of a baseball cap, backpack, graphic tee, shorts, and crew socks rolled up their legs like a dork. This caricature all too often mirrors reality and is a common theme in European media.
I have a question, everyone. Which side from "Jesse Plemon" was, like who was he? Or he was just a trackless military person from no side, which one he was?
I assume the American nationalists were all the states other than Florida and texas; they saw them as traitors which then enhanced their own nationalism and so he was on the side of "America." He wouldn't hesitate to execute anyone he deemed to be a traitor to this country. He is on the governments side.

Notice the way he says "China" @ 5:13. Do you think this was the directors way of refrencing President Trump?
No because he didn't say the "CHY-NA" as Trump says it. Seemed like he said it normally.

"Pablo" is from Florida, Florida is with the Western Alliance in this movie so...allied.

You don't find out. It seems Jesse was hit worse than the other guy, who kind of got a glancing blow. The third soldier should have been watching their backs.
@@Reacher_2215Dude wtf 😂💀
Haven't seen the film because I'm not sure it's my bag, but I've seen this scene loads of times on here. Jesse Plemons' micro expressions are superb. The little facial tick and the way he says "What" in the "What kind of American are you?" are so understated. Also, kt's clearly not the child's first rodeo the way they get in the car and sit/lie down. Clearly been shot at before.
The fact he knows is that it is in Central and South America. is impressive for US citizens.
That's evil Matt Damon in military uniform over there!
I love this scene. One of my favorites
This scene man... hes soooo good
I thought this was a catch 22 comedy scene when the trailer came out. This was an intense scene.
For the one who doesn't know, it's all about the sheep, OK?
I have a question, everyone. Which side from "Jesse Plemon" was, like who was he?
Or he was just a trackless military person from no side, which one he was?
I assume the American nationalists were all the states other than Florida and texas; they saw them as traitors which then enhanced their own nationalism and so he was on the side of "America." He wouldn't hesitate to execute anyone he deemed to be a traitor to this country. He is on the governments side.
Honestly I think he was just an unaffiliated psychopath using the civil war as an excuse to kill as many people as he could.
loyalist i guess
@@mpumpkin1Then why he was hurting journalists?

From the film it show mostly what bad about right winger rather than show what happen with all militia type group. like C>H>A>Z (Capitol Hill Occupied Protest) were where the protestor got mad at a ambulance for not helping those shot inside. Partially since protestor dance on top of the ambulance and refuse to move away and also without police escort they can't move by law. As first responders such as firefighter or paramedic were un alive during incident where gun was involve. newly released police footage from a May shootout in Appleton, Wisconsin, shows paramedics reviving Ruben Houston - who reportedly was suffering from an opioid overdose on a coach bus - before the man pulled a semi-automatic on the first responders. He fired two shots, killing a firefighter and injuring a police officer. After an investigation, the Outagamie County district attorney said the two police officers involved were justified in fatally shooting Houston. Not only that many of the protestors had barricade the whole area so even then they couldn't navigate drug infested cesspool. The king pin of CHOP was militia. of particular concern for locals has been the recent spate of gun violence in the area. There have been four shootings in CHOP since its inception, and a shooting Sunday evening left one person dead and another hospitalized.
“It’s clear that there is gun violence associated with CHOP,” said Justin. “There are young people with weapons. There are very well-trained volunteers with weapons. There’s just a lot of guns in the area

America is ALREADY a volatile country now. Look at what the Democratic Party has reduced their cities to.
I *love* the touch of the red glasses.
They serve a dual-purpose.
On the one hand, they’re a visual demonstration of the fact that this sociopath only ever “sees red”.
On the other hand, they’re a visual cue of some godawful fashion trend that probably took off in 2030 or a couple years prior to the movie taking place.
This film will go down as a cinematic masterpiece.
