An important tip from a Morde main: If you're using Morde and you have a boots of switness and you've activated your Stormraider's, you'll basically have 95% slow resistance (used to be 100% slow resistance before the swifties got nerfed) :3

as a proud mord main i disagree with all your builds and rune pages. except if you're midlane. but even then I usually prefer going to lan with a ruby crystal and rushing rylais. then depending on if my team needs ap or ad i take protobelt or trinity. if there is a lot of ad in the nemy team tho, zhonyas as second item is almost mandatory, unless you're stomping hard but even then get the seekers armguard before anything else. for aving a ton of games on him i have to say, you don't need dft. in most situations stormraiders is just better. although ignite dft makes our lvl 6 almost inescapable. but I usually pick flash ghost anyway. i you're proficient enough on the champ, literally no champ can 1v1 you unelss they are fed out of their mind. so rylais is usually the ebst irst item as it basically secures you toplane kills and makes your pet drag aoe slow from a huge range. whatever tho. it's not like your advices are bad. it's just that I usually already play the builds you present but this time almost i do almost none of them. I did go dft until recently though. stormraiders + ghost just made my winrate go significantly higher tho.

The thing about Mordekaiser is that he is probably the only champion who doesn't have a visual for his shield. Its only visible in the passive bar. Even Yasuo gets a visible shield with his Flow-bar.
I love the raw power of full AD morde, but this kind of build makes more sense. Always liked him since the rework, but never knew how to play him right.

My normal build with Mordekaiser is Sunfire Cape, Spirit Visage, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Mercury Treads, Warmog Armor, and Hextech Gunblade. My usual summoner spells are Teleport and Ignite, I know you said his teleport ganks are weak, but it has worked for me. Also before asking my elo I'm unranked, but I generally have an easy time at top lane with this set up on him and if you don't trust it give it a try. If it isn't a build style for you then oh well it is how I build him.
Exactly, i went to level 6 with Mordekaiser, and i've played him for my entire league gaming. and he can one shot anyone! He is just so underrated, people just don't know how to use him as the new one.
I think you missed mentioning protobelt. In certain team comps (when you aren't building gunblade) it can be a fantastic item because the active helps you fight even when your flash is down. It's way better at catching backline than gunblade active, you're just losing the heal and extra damage. Protobelt is also a pretty cheap first item.

i love toplane morde. gunblade, rylais, then tank and youre completely fine. once you got rylais/ gunblade (what you buy first depends on your lane, gun if you need sustain otherwise rylais) you will get an insane powerspike
id also prefer stormraiders. liandrys is usually my last item after spirit visage/ dmp. this gives good tankyness, damage and sustain, making it overall a balanced build which boosts mordes strengths while counterbuilding against his weaknesses
Your only tankiness tends to be health, as your shield passive scales with it extremely hard, especially if you've put any skillpoints into your E. Also, I take Stormraider's against difficult matchups against very mobile enemies, such as the aformentioned Riven/Yas. You can't lose a fight if you have the chance to land all 3 hits of your Q on a champ instead of having to waste any of them on a minion. I especially wait to choose a skill until I'm in lane. If the enemy champ is already there in lane, I grab my Q or E depending on if they are melee or ranged. If they are clearly leashing, I go for W and push the wave to the tower repeatedly. If the enemy is already in lane, but happens to be a tank, W can be useful anyways considering they can't clear the wave easily under tower or tank the minions early game.
Just for any aspiring Morde mains. Take teleport and as soon as u hit 6, you back pick up a hex tech revolver and boots take dragon and go dive bot. This way you boost your team gold massively and tilt bot. Abuse the dragon to its full extent and you will win. I jumped from bronze 3 to gold 5 in 20 days
I still play him botlane with a blitzcrank main and I take windspeakers blessing sometimes. Can save your teammates and you still do a lot of damage. And you start relic shield anyway in botlane.

My normal build with Mordekaiser is Sunfire Cape, Spirit Visage, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Mercury Treads, Warmog Armor, and Hextech Gunblade. My usual summoner spells are Teleport and Ignite, I know you said his teleport ganks are weak, but it has worked for me. Also before asking my elo I'm unranked, but I generally have an easy time at top lane with this set up on him and if you don't trust it give it a try. If it isn't a build style for you then oh well it is how I build him.

I'd just like to say that at 0:25 there is a game with mordekaiser going 5/24 with eye of the watchers 5 tears and a blue trinket.
Exactly, i went to level 6 with Mordekaiser, and i've played him for my entire league gaming. and he can one shot anyone! He is just so underrated, people just don't know how to use him as the new one.

I think you missed mentioning protobelt. In certain team comps (when you aren't building gunblade) it can be a fantastic item because the active helps you fight even when your flash is down. It's way better at catching backline than gunblade active, you're just losing the heal and extra damage. Protobelt is also a pretty cheap first item.

I however never go for rylais, in favour of going gunblade-triforce-ludens/steraks, I don't like rylais because it's kinda weak and currently doesn't really support my build path and playstyle
As a morde main myself I'm glad to see peoples are finally realizing how good he is but now that you made this video i feel like more people will pick him up which to me sucks. i like being that one guy that plays this champ no one cares / knows about.

i love toplane morde. gunblade, rylais, then tank and youre completely fine. once you got rylais/ gunblade (what you buy first depends on your lane, gun if you need sustain otherwise rylais) you will get an insane powerspike
id also prefer stormraiders. liandrys is usually my last item after spirit visage/ dmp. this gives good tankyness, damage and sustain, making it overall a balanced build which boosts mordes strengths while counterbuilding against his weaknesses

Your only tankiness tends to be health, as your shield passive scales with it extremely hard, especially if you've put any skillpoints into your E.
Also, I take Stormraider's against difficult matchups against very mobile enemies, such as the aformentioned Riven/Yas. You can't lose a fight if you have the chance to land all 3 hits of your Q on a champ instead of having to waste any of them on a minion.
I especially wait to choose a skill until I'm in lane. If the enemy champ is already there in lane, I grab my Q or E depending on if they are melee or ranged. If they are clearly leashing, I go for W and push the wave to the tower repeatedly. If the enemy is already in lane, but happens to be a tank, W can be useful anyways considering they can't clear the wave easily under tower or tank the minions early game.

Just for any aspiring Morde mains. Take teleport and as soon as u hit 6, you back pick up a hex tech revolver and boots take dragon and go dive bot. This way you boost your team gold massively and tilt bot. Abuse the dragon to its full extent and you will win. I jumped from bronze 3 to gold 5 in 20 days
I still play him botlane with a blitzcrank main and I take windspeakers blessing sometimes. Can save your teammates and you still do a lot of damage. And you start relic shield anyway in botlane.
