Hello there! Some Bronze dude here... I just found this video earlier the day and instantly was interested in trying out the tips & tricks suggested in this vid. Just played 2 matches, eanred my S ratings and felt an improvement. Thanks a lot for this video!
The is no worst feel in the League, than facing a great Master Yi, Fiora or Yasuo players. I always feel despair playing against them. Like there is nothing we can do to win, the match is doomed. It feel so overwhelming and just kill your mindset and frame. I remember playing as good as I could on Ezreal, and still feeling like I am not doing anything.
Because that is how the game should be balanced - hyper carries. After a certain critical mass, those characters become team-killers and can and SHOULD reliably 1v5. As a result, the game would evolve into “battle of titans” as opposed to “coordinated BS go”. Look at Dota, for example. Void killing the whole enemy team under a unavoidable stun is the peak of what LoL should strive towards.
@@kingol4801 The game should not be in a way, that you have to change all your strategies just because you are facing one champion. The perfect example of Hyper carry is Kog'Maw and Varus. They don't have much mobility, they can kite a bit, but in a proper fight, they are stand-your-ground-and-attack champion. While champions like Fiora, Yi and Yasuo have insane damage and on top of that, insane mobility, damage block, CC, and one of the strongest items in the game PERFECTLY stack with their kit. For example Shieldbow on Yasuo, which gives him EVERYTHING he needs and Divine Surderer on Fiora, which literally crates champion that has no counter play.
@@JaDjok But Yi doesn't have as reliable mobility as Fiora or Yasuo, since his Q/R are not good engages. Yasuo also relies heavily on CC'ing a champion in order to input his strength in a teamfight (Aside of maybe WIndwall). Does that make Yi well designed? No, but some of what you are saying seems a bit overexaggerating, since Yasuo is kind of seen as more of an annoyance nowadays, especially with Yone being the new star of complaints. Plus, with that item argument, you can say the same thing to almost any champ and make them sound OP, not an amazing argument on its own imo.
I swear to God Master Yi is the most researched champion in the damn game. There are literal spreadsheets calculating the perfect theoretical damage output with different item combinations. And don't even get me started on Cowsep and how technical he is with the champ
2:10 Lmao he jump scared me. I didnt even see his cam was on until after he screamed and he was totally silent leading up to it so I wasnt expecting voice audio
Just got my m7 on yi and was using w auto reset before it was told. Personally I take ignite and invade my enemies to tilt them. Then use proceeds to purchase berserker greaves. Now I can have a better idea in how to carry mid/late game thank you!
15:33 I love the idea of Pressure by Presence. I fully expect the enemies to press RDF Zhonyas as soon as they see me. Every single game is the same. They use everything on Master Yi, because they have to. I will be taking Sinerias advice and let the other players do their job instead of thinking I have to carry every game alone.
Master Yi's entire feast or famine playstyle is very much like that chicken meme with The Hound from Game of Thrones when Yi finally does go in: Enemy Team: "You're gonna die over some LP?" "Someone is."
btw the 'Do Nothing" in the title is the exact SAME habit for katarina players Katevolved can confirm (do nothing in the way of letting ennemys throwing their abilities in the void before all in)
Everything is true that this guy said :), in season 7 i was silver, later i found out that yi is kinda broken in low elo ngl, so i started maining him. in couple of seasons i managed to climb all the way to master 12 lp close to gm, but it's eune server and 2 many people think that its easier there a lot so ill prove and climb to master minimum on euw this season maybe even higher ;D and btw guys ban rammus and nilah!
at 15:25 he explains something no one in plat and even dia knows. Been waiting to hear someone say this, that even dmg champs can peel by playing the game right and focusing whoever is on their team rather then just running at the enemy backline for kills, then that same person dies and then they lose the game cause of that same reason. Kills don't matter if you're feeding a kill everytime. Let all the bruiser players understand this.
The patience skill is something that alongside my mechanics, are absolutely vital while playing ADC. Something I now understand to be just as vital for Master Yi, so my transition to Jungle shouldn't be too hard. So basically, the way I play ADC is the way to play Yi, very informative!
sineriaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas. i love youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. i waited so long for you to be in a donhuap videooooooooooo. finally it happened. wuhuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.
I remeber playing yi cause he was the cheapest ad champ that i had seen in game back in 2012, and I wanna bought nocturne. I just fall in love by the gameplay, its the funniest champ to play
8:44 I would argue that because of that exact reason, Yi is better to play in high elo than in low elo. In high elo people tend to be more competend (who would've thought), so Yi has a better time ganking early because his laners are good players. In low elo people don't know what to do and how to play lane, so Yi has a harder time ganking in the early game.
Completely the opposite. Yi is incredibly easy to play in low elo because players don't position themselves with you in mind, you are given 10+ free kills every game on Yi below like D2
@@soul0172 ? You didn't disprove my point, you basically said "Yi is good in low elo because the players are bad", this doesn't make sense bro. Based on your logic every champ would be good in low elo (which they are), but this is completely missing my point. The guy in the video said that Yi has a hard time ganking because he needs a good set up (atleast before he is level 6), but in high elo people know how to set up ganks, so my point is that Yi has a easier time in high elo because of this reason.
I been playing wild rift for a while, although they cannot be compare (since lol pc take much longer to finish a game) I can say one thing, if there's a master yi, and he just farming, be scars if you are the carry, be warry of you are the jungle, be ready if you are the top, and best of luck of the middle line and never of steel for the support
Imagine how Sinerias would've played Yi back when his abilities scaled off AP at ridiculous ratios or jungled back when the Pro as Heck build was Mobos, Wriggle's Lantern, and four Zeals.
as a master yi player, i can confirm all it requires is to not make huge mistakes and you will win 80-90% of the time. That and pick your battles, you can't 1v9 on gray screen.
There was this champion in Dawngate called Vex. He was a spiked lizard creature that functioned like an ADC in that MOBA. His ultimate empowered his shots with AoE splash damage and there was this one moment where I kept screwing up my key inputs, looked down to find the key I was trying to hit, and during the time I was stationary I got Dawngate's equivalent of a Pentakill. Fed Master Yi moments always reminds me of that, lol.
all of this also applys to kayle. and people dont realize that especially since the main reason kayles dont ult to save people. is she cant attack even if she ults somebody else. if i ult, i lose the vast majority of DPS in that entire game for like 1-2 seconds
kinda makes me not hate yi so much. And i wish i would have kept playing him back in season 5. Also gave me perspective on how i should jungle my champs.
Master yi was my first ever champ. I learned him top but yeah that checks out. Diana is the exact same. I never play yi but whenever I played diana it just felt disgustingly op for so many reasons. Here they are: Two dashes Aoe knockup True damage aa’s Tanky, assasin Takes turrets with plates in seconds And last but not least, even when doing average to bad she is always fb between 25-30 minutes Diana’s 2nd item spike allows you to farm so hard that when the fed 7/2 akali has 2 items, you are fb with pot. I wish I were joking

True man
2:03 yi players be acting up when they press Q
I'm acting up with your mum
He just got rank 1 challenger in EUW.
I swear to God Master Yi is the most researched champion in the damn game.
There are literal spreadsheets calculating the perfect theoretical damage output with different item combinations.
And don't even get me started on Cowsep and how technical he is with the champ
truly one of the best players of all time, love sinerias
2:10 Lmao he jump scared me. I didnt even see his cam was on until after he screamed and he was totally silent leading up to it so I wasnt expecting voice audio
By far the funniest part of this whole video is at 5:00 he's talking about communicating to your team but at the same time he's chat restricted lol
Just got my m7 on yi and was using w auto reset before it was told. Personally I take ignite and invade my enemies to tilt them. Then use proceeds to purchase berserker greaves. Now I can have a better idea in how to carry mid/late game thank you!
Ahhh... My people, toon Ignite instead of flash
this is what master yi is in the lore
Can we take a moment and press “F”, to pay respects for my boy AP Yi.
Master Yi's entire feast or famine playstyle is very much like that chicken meme with The Hound from Game of Thrones when Yi finally does go in:
Enemy Team: "You're gonna die over some LP?"
"Someone is."
btw the 'Do Nothing" in the title is the exact SAME habit for katarina players
Katevolved can confirm (do nothing in the way of letting ennemys throwing their abilities in the void before all in)
I don't play LOL, I don't watch LCS, I don't watch world. But man DongHuap I love your content.

LULU: "ALT R! ALT+R"
Master Yeet: *Omae wa mou, shinederu*
that renekton play was amazing tho 1:44
"Master Yi is easily the most hated and braindead champions in all of League of Legends."
Most Silver statement I have ever heard in my entire life.
I didn't know that about the sweeper vs wards. That's really useful for me to know as a support
I think more than the gameplay, I love this man’s positive energy
Ah hell yeah the Broken by Concept clip
Great video!
This was the best master yi video I've ever watched
I paused Physical Education - Animal as Leaders (min 3:28) right before playing this video and the transition was sick.
thanks for once again introducing me to a cool streamer to watch!
appreciated!
That invade thing with graves is SO smart wow! Super useful idea, might come in handy one day..
The old jungle item almost made me exit the video because l taught it was on old DongHuap video lol
at 15:25 he explains something no one in plat and even dia knows.
After 10 years on this game: its time to play yi.
I love this series man
The patience skill is something that alongside my mechanics, are absolutely vital while playing ADC. Something I now understand to be just as vital for Master Yi, so my transition to Jungle shouldn't be too hard. So basically, the way I play ADC is the way to play Yi, very informative!
Hunt down ADC’s
Master Yi, finally!
With tank jungling, if I fall behind, i can go 1/7 but still have 20 assists. It’s like being an aggressive support
,,Wow, that Master Yi played very well, I'm in awe, WP!" - said no one ever.
master yi is the original 200 years champ
sineriaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas. i love youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. i waited so long for you to be in a donhuap videooooooooooo. finally it happened. wuhuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.
i played 10 years and now i know there is a W autohit reset. thank you!!
I remeber playing yi cause he was the cheapest ad champ that i had seen in game back in 2012, and I wanna bought nocturne. I just fall in love by the gameplay, its the funniest champ to play
This man is either a menace or the living embodiment of Wuju style
the last clip where he 1v5 clutched... I really felt the "jungle gap??" in chat
been inting with yi mid for a few days now. this video is coming in at a perfect time >:)
his reactions starting from 2:05 is too funny xDDDD
That last clip with 100% KP hurts
The guy in the video said that Yi has a hard time ganking because he needs a good set up (atleast before he is level 6), but in high elo people know how to set up ganks, so my point is that Yi has a easier time in high elo because of this reason.
i have a yi main friend and he is insane. even played funnel with him. yi is actually harder than it seems
"jungle is considered one of the most difficult roles in the game."
watched this video took the advice and got my first ever pentakill after not playing yi for 2 months
5:33 dang that's dirty XD
I been playing wild rift for a while, although they cannot be compare (since lol pc take much longer to finish a game) I can say one thing, if there's a master yi, and he just farming, be scars if you are the carry, be warry of you are the jungle, be ready if you are the top, and best of luck of the middle line and never of steel for the support
"do nothing" is the avarage master yi player mindset tho
the sweeper tech is 200 IQ
yoo im in ur video ! follow alert 16:20
kuboxd, the fact that you notice that is really impressive to me! Very cute! I am gonna give you some roles on my Discord Server
"He doesn't have burst" im sorry what?
so basically just overall jungle knowlage and knowing ur stronger than anyone
13:15 that zilean though
Cowsep has a better mechanics/reflrx but i think zenarias is going to improve now that he's going to korea climb challenger there, love this guys
bro is putting the skill into master yi rn
Imagine how Sinerias would've played Yi back when his abilities scaled off AP at ridiculous ratios or jungled back when the Pro as Heck build was Mobos, Wriggle's Lantern, and four Zeals.
I love how almost all of the best players in League are chat restricted.
Riot is a nanny safe space sjw hellscape
I'll remember in banning phase. Thanks @Sinerias
so you can only truly master Master Yi , once you unlock the hidden passive called , "Patience"
as a master yi player, i can confirm all it requires is to not make huge mistakes and you will win 80-90% of the time. That and pick your battles, you can't 1v9 on gray screen.
Let me introduce a little known item called Anathemas Chains
i watched this video, went ingame, did a penta with yi and finished the game
it's so cool how master yi can go completely untargetable it's my favorite part
The Master Yi in my team usually also does nothing and then ints
thanks, i just got a penta in my first yi game :D
We forgetting the yummi here makes a big difference
This guy would get crushed on the old map.
wait so every 0/4/0 master yi I have on my teams in ranked is actually a genious :o
Fed Master Yi moments always reminds me of that, lol.
all of this also applys to kayle. and people dont realize that
especially since the main reason kayles dont ult to save people. is she cant attack even if she ults somebody else.
if i ult, i lose the vast majority of DPS in that entire game for like 1-2 seconds
Really cool video, would have loved to hear his thoughts on itemization and reasoning for it though!
kinda makes me not hate yi so much. And i wish i would have kept playing him back in season 5. Also gave me perspective on how i should jungle my champs.
I look down on Yi players but I still gotta respect the high ranked ones, especially the lethality players
Somewhere, I can here a Cow moo in rage...
Master yi was my first ever champ. I learned him top but yeah that checks out. Diana is the exact same. I never play yi but whenever I played diana it just felt disgustingly op for so many reasons. Here they are:
Two dashes
Aoe knockup
True damage aa’s
Tanky, assasin
Takes turrets with plates in seconds
And last but not least, even when doing average to bad she is always fb between 25-30 minutes
Diana’s 2nd item spike allows you to farm so hard that when the fed 7/2 akali has 2 items, you are fb with pot. I wish I were joking
Yes. Yi can be countered, but I've always felt that Diana was a stupid overpowered champ
Are you talking about Diana when you say true damage aa's?
2:05 my ears aren’t recovering jesus🎧
