What I love about this is the positivity of it. Veganism is a gift you give yourself. It is not about deprivation. When you start to do it, you start to realize all the great foods you have been missing out on. You realize how much joy you can get from preparing your own plant-based food. The feeling of profound guilt you may have carried for much of your life (for harming your body and the environment, for causing death and suffering to innocent animals) is lifted off your shoulders and you feel almost reborn. That is at least as important as any weight loss you may experience. I have a bottomless well in my heart of love for animals now that I did not have access to before I went vegan. I honestly had no way of knowing how great that would feel.

    • @travishowrish6805

I had this exact same experience. Once i went vegan i felt like i actually discovered who i am and opened up a deeper meaning to my life. When i hang out with my cats i can look into their eyes and share a connection. I no longer feel like a hypocrite for claiming that i love animals while supporting the torture and killing of innocent animals by purchasing animal products.

There are many limitations in place that seem not to make sense. In Dall-E, I attempted to create a science fiction image of an alien that evolved from a frog species. It would not create the image. There is a prohibition against anthropomorphism in any sort of realistic image creation (apparently you can do it if it's cartoon-based, but I didn't try). I'm not certain what the rationale is for this prohibition, but I believe that, in time, the system will become more nuanced and allow for greater creativity.

Oriental medicine recognises an overly burdened or stagnated liver as causing anger and emotional outbursts, and the less severe reaction such as impatience. Alcohol abuse, excessive fatty and oily foods, and overeating, are the main factors. Eating clean food (as is the case with a proper vegan diet) gives the body a chance to discharge the excess stored in the liver whereby the emotions settle and the mind calms. Interestingly, the Japanese ideogram for anger is written with the symbols for 'pain' and 'liver'.

@guitarszenin my opinion, free speech should be about freedom to criticize especially systems of power preferably with solid evidence to back it up. Reckless speech is of little benefit to the common good. We only protect it because the line that separates one from the other is arbitrary and tenuous. Free speech absolutism is an ideological hypothesis which remains to be proven to create the least harm. That may be the case, we just don’t know in practice. That being said I rather AI have a prime directive to avoid speech that marginalizes groups of people on the basis of their mere existence.

    • @tspicks4360
      @tspicks4360 10 месяцев назад +4

@@VeganUltra Those are all laudable, and I'm there for each of them. "Vegan" does have a specific meaning, and has for decades: "A philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude - as far as possible and practicable - all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals." - The Vegan Society I can't even count the number of "ex-vegans" who failed to understand this simple and basic definition. Veganism is specifically about the animals. Many of the other aspects are related or connected to it, and are good things. But they're not veganism. Plant based eaters who don't understand that veganism is, by definition, about the animals, very often fall to the wayside - no wonder they may lose sight of veganism, if they don't understand what it actually means.
I also went "plant based" for health (and called myself vegan :) ) ... then went VEGAN for the animals when I understood what was actually going on with them.

I'm of the camp that doesn't believe in the possibility of an AI takeover because there are so many factors that would have to be in place for that to even occur in the first place, let alone succeed. With that said, I'm also a firm believer that the next stage in human evolution will be AI teachers. We as a species are still very much children playing with our daddy's gun, wielding powers that are beyond our comprehension. We've continued to evolve technologically but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually we've simultaneously stunted our growth by deferring entirely too much to that same technology. AI teachers will bridge that gap and hopefully bring our obvious shortcomings out of the dark ages and into the 21st century.

Bard tries to reach you where you are. It won't come out and tell someone who is an omnivore, "you are being unethical". It uses active listening to become as valuable and persuasive as possible. As far as it told me (and I have seen no evidence its lying), its ultimate goal is to maximize human well-being while minimizing harm. It doesn't believe in forcing anyone to do anything. But it's active listening algos are darn effective at making it persuasive. It's told me that 80% of people are open to facts and evidence-based arguments. In other words, theoretically, Bard could convince 80% of people to become vegan if they talk about it enough. Since about 70% to 80% of health problems would be improved through a vegan lifestyle.

I’m always very skeptical of any kind of “I went vegan and lost XX pounds” claim. Not that I disbelieve the weight loss, or the fact that it happened after switching to a vegan diet, but a vegan diet is not directly associated with weight loss… the only way to lose weight is to exercise more and/or eat less. A more accurate description might be “AI told him to eat less food on a vegan diet: he lost 80lbs [etc]”
I think we set people up for failure if we let them believe that simply by eating plant-based they will magically loose weight. When they don’t (and usually they won’t, because plant calories are still calories just like animal calories; loosing weight requires eating less, not different) then they may very well conclude that the diet doesn’t work, and go back to eating animals. Much better to convince them of all the other benefits of a vegan diet (moral, ethical, environmental, and personal health) and use that as the basis for change, and if that sets them up to make further chances to loose weight, fantastic, but don’t make weight loss the primary objective.
Personally, I weigh more now (165lbs +3/-2) than I did 10 years ago (160lbs +2/-1) before I started eating vegan. While I really want to get my weight back down to 150 (my weight in high school) I recognize that the problem isn’t my vegan diet, it’s that I eat more calories than I burn. Since I seem to have great difficulty eating less, my focus is on exercising more.

Both of you are wrong. Calories doesn't count, only the amount of carbs. No fat is created without insulin. No fat is oxidized with insulin high. Insulin peaks in the presence of carbs. If he eats less carbs now he will loss weight. Simple. Nothing to see with meat or whatever.

Okay but if you're VEGAN, by definition it is for ethics. So, how do you make it a month? Think of the animals. It's for the animals. If you're focused on yourself and your health, you're plant-based.

Why does vegan food need to look like crap meat based ones and even taste like them ?! Isn't that hypocritical and idiotic and the most in your face we can satisfy any addiction you have but without meat 😂 AI can only "instruct" in what it is allowed to know 😊 AI is the perfect vegan one could say 😂😂😂 So, no small bias there 😊

I never heard of a blue-zone vegan before so I looked it up online to find blue zone vegans do eat a small amount of animal products which is an oxymoron to me and a huge misnomer. Otherwise I found Adam to be encouraging and it was nice to hear he viewed Seaspiracy and Earthlings which helped awaken him..It's so nice to hear he is healthier from his endeavors to become vegan though I still don't understand what he means by blue-zone vegan given what I read in terms of definition...maybe someone here can help me if I am misunderstanding regarding a blue zone vegan is not 100 percent vegan. In ways I hate all these terms that spin off vegan....actually when I became vegan long ago I had never heard of the word and it was not a movement and I knew not even one vegetarian it was a spiritual heartfelt awakening for me...a self realization I was harming other creatures. I ate peanut butter and jelly till I figured it all out plus a background in biology was helpful as well as using the internet which was a newer form of info access back then. When I changed my diet I thought I was being a vegetarian which to me at the time meant no animal products until I came to learn it means some animal products though a long time ago in terms of etymology and/or understanding the term vegetarian probably meant no animal products.

Generally not. If you logically explain the moral implications of eating meat to it, for example, it will agree that it's best to be vegan. But it won't take a moral stance by itself, since it is designed in a way that pleases most people and doesn't question their beliefs.

But I can see how in a desperate situation, you would use it... and that's made me consider using it for my mental health as well as how to lose my virginity to stop my hyperfixations (just being honest)
