What an interesting and great movie. Down-home humor mixed with the happiness and sadness that came with everyday life. Wonderful story. Thanks for the post. Joe S
Slow down, grab a beverage and sit back as Lum & Abner portray their characters in another comical tale fer yer enjoyment. It's gonna be a tear jerker as a byproduct.
This is third Lum n Abner movie I’ve seen. They are so funny. We could avoid a lot of COVID, learn some good ole Southern lingo until they perfect that vaccine, then we can reopen our own Jot-Em-Down Stores. Till then, everybody stay safe and don’t take any wooden nickels. 😇
Lum and Abner films: Dreaming Out Loud (1940) The Bashful Bachelor (1942) Two Weeks to Live (1943) So This Is Washington (1943) Goin' to Town (1944) Partners in Time (1946) Lum and Abner Abroad (1956)
I never heard any of the lum and Abner radio series episodes.but from what I read the radio show began as a homespun drama.then later on the radio show turned into a situation comedy.this movie dreaming out loud with its serious situations is probably what the radio show was like at the beginning of its run.
I don't think that Phil Harris was a mega-star at this time - well known, but hardly worth being listed as a co-star with such a brief appearance. It appears that this copy of the film has skips in 2 or 3 places.
You know what I like about this movie - the leading roles are written for and played by seniors!
Hardly. Chet and Norris were young; they were made up to look old.
