I was SO excited to go see this, because #1, I was going with an aunt and uncle and cousin, and I NEVER really got to do things with them, and #2 It was FREAKING BATMAN. Think about it, now. The ONLY Batman "movie" that I had seen was with Adam West & Burt Ward, and the infamous "shark repellent", "a canary with a machine gun", and Batman counting the rounds of a Tommy Gun before he got out of cover to approach the "bad guys". Don't get me wrong, that movie was just campy-great. But, THIS Batman was the REAL BATMAN, folks! Needless to say (yet I'm going to say it anyway), this movie did NOT disappoint. After this movie, I got all the action figures. I had the Batman, Joker, Bob, and then went and got the comic-book version of Penguin, the Batmobile, and the Batwing. I can't tell you how many times I recreated the fight scene in the bell tower between the brute and Batman, where Batman swings up from below, grabs the guy's head between his feet, banging the guy's head against the bell, the throwing him into the depths. It was a close fight every time, and Batman did get bloodied, but in the end the Batman prevailed! Of course, my chest of drawers had to suffice as the church & bell tower, but that was fine. To me, it was an exact model down to every minute detail, haha. I say all that to say this: This Batman movie is still one of my favorites. I love it and Batman Returns.

I really connected with this comment. My earliest childhood memory is seeing Return of the Jedi in a theater. I was barely three years old. I also got to see Batman in a theater when it was released. This movie is awesome, especially to an eight-year old.
Ledger and Pheonix give great performances and I like their interpretations of the character a lot; both incorporate some aspects of the comic character. But, overall, I think Nicholson is the closest to a classical comic accurate Joker - kind of like a Dennis O'Neil/Neal Adams and Englehart/Rogers mixed with original Golden Age Joker come to life.

I was eight. I had the day off from school, and my Dad took me to see it. It was like a serious thing for me, because it was my first time going to see a PG-13 movie. This movie is awesome, especially to an eight-year old.
I'm just watching the Joker's henchmen. They look like they're having so much fun especially Bob.
0:17 the sound someone makes when about to sneeze, but they then stop
Joker has good taste in music.
One of the best jokers period
0:24 I never noticed the Goon sticks his tongue out!
This scene is the reason this is my favorite Prince song!
The Joker certainly knows how to make an entrance.
🤦♀️ 3:00 *So, where is 'the bat': he's at home or washing "his" tights? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 *Certainly, a magnificent line for this movie!* *Jack is an awesome actor and played very well his Joker's roll giving us all of the fans a brilliant performance. This scene is one of the most memorables. EPIC.*
I see without seeing.i see the darkness as clear as daylight.i am batman.
I've always hated Prince but this song in this moment of this movie works for some reason
Knowing how picky Prince is with his music. You know he had to be a batman fan to license his music to the movie.
So prince made his songs for the film before they finished production? 🤔 🕺🏾
Ledger was one of the best psychopaths ever but Nicholson was the best joker
This Joker always rocking out to Prince music
Thanks to Prince songs for Tim Burton Batman.
