haha I call this the Tea Cup Manicure cause of the gilding on the edge. I remember doing a black with holographic tips for my sister for a New Year's Eve party. It's a stunning technique. Much nicer than a French.

Mademoiselle is just such a classic and iconic natural nail color - I love it so much. I wish they had it in the gel couture line. So, I was so proud of myself applying my new Cuccio oil several times a day and noticing an improvement of my nails, and then yesterday my right thumb and index finger's free edge is totally trashed and peeling. So disheartening. I know the nail doesn't grow that fast so where the free edge would be nice and bonded now, but still. Always love watching your work.
Mademoiselle is the color I’ve been using this winter . One or two coats with a nice shiny top coat . I like the gold tips ,but I don’t think I would be able to do my right hand . Another enjoyable video and nice spa music 👍♥️

Maybe someone has already asked this but, Will you kindly share your thoughts about polishing with regular polish and doing a top coat of gel when polish is completely dry? You’ve transformed the way I do my manicures. Thank you for your time.

In order for this to work properly the polish would have to be fully dry which would take probably 24 hrs. You don't want solvents trapped under the gel.
Gel will give the nails nice shine but it won't make them last longer because the polish will chip because the base coat will lose a bond from the nail, that's how the polish chips.
And third, maybe one of the most important thing, I really don't recommend any gel polishes for general public. Way too many allergic reactions from improper use of gels. Once you get allergy it's a life long allergy.
If you want very shiny and smooth nails, using a ridge filler would help and maybe 2 coats of top coat. Way better then gel coat :)

Can anyone tell me the name of the tool that Anna is using for the gold free edge. It looks like a long, fine brush but I couldn't find it listed in the description. Love you videos Anna. You're very relaxing to watch.
I’m curious Anna, do you find the glass file seems to sort of seal the free edge when you take down the length? Do you notice less peeling when the client comes back in for a fresh manicure? The glass file seems less aggressive than the metal file. Do you find this to be true?
Hi Lynn! I don’t think file can seal anything. It can leave the nail smoother on the end because they have a fine grit. I think the smoother the file the smoother the finish no matter what material is used. I really like the files now (that’s all I’ve been using now) but I don’t think they are miracle.
The peeling comes from the nail plate being compromised, not only the free edge.
Just like a loosely woven fabric is going to fray more than a tightly woven fabric.
The key is to improve the quality of the whole nail plate and not just the edge.
I might be wrong and I will update everyone when my clients start coming back after 2-3 weeks.
That's a lovely combination! I love Mademoiselle...I'll have to pick up the rose gold polish. I use the Essie Jet Set (or is it Speed Set?) top coat....do you find the Good To Go better or the same? I've never tried GTG. Thank you !
