Every cat has his character just like humans, but this video explains something that match for all cats. Nice to see many different color and races here, I love cats, I have my own 2 and sometimes other 2, I'm a cat sitter, I want them interact since they where 4 months old and since then they never be jealous or aggressive, as explained in this video depending how you behave with them, TANK YOU so much 🐱, I'm still learning.
Great video, I've always had Cat's but my Cat is so unhappy.😢❤️🩹 I'm quite unwell & in bed alot. He's indoor Cat. He never purrs (only occasionally when he gets treats) He sleeps above my head on a pillow or on top of my feet over covers. I think he does this to know exactly when I move. I feed him too much, buy him treats, toys etc. He had a Cat fountain but started to knock it over ON PURPOSE! & it's electric so had to unplug it. I leave 4 places of fresh water but he hasn't been drinking it, but always trys to get a my water at my bedside! He got so constipated he pooped on my prayer mat! 😢 I feel selfish for getting him but I can't let him go! He's always been very insecure & he wouldn't cope. I love him so much but I don't no what to do can ANYONE HELP US PLEASE?! 😢❤️🩹
My 25 year old just passed. She was always pretty ornery, but at the end it was both an honor and sad that she’d request help to get on the couch and would put her head on me.
Toy on a string, they love that and if on a semi regular schedule will seek it out at that time every day. Rapid movements get their attention, but give them long enough to catch it and watch them get their vicious on!
@@Dmtmindset222 oh definitely they are not! They allow us to live with them, to love them and to be their servants and these things are making us so happy. That's weird, isn't it? Or maybe we are.
Hydranium, they understand what pleases us. That’s all. Never punish a cat. They don’t make the connection. They have no sense of morality or sinning against God.They don’t need to be born again and will all be in heaven.Reward the behavior you are wanting, positive reinforcement will accomplish more.yea they are very smart but don’t have the sense of morality that we do.
No. Dog's have a pack... They can have a very hard time when treated as an outcast. Domestic cats are somewhere between "pride" and "solitary".. They accept and return the companionship on a reciprocal basis. A dog will seek to appease a harsh "alpha" A cat will leave a harsh companion if given the opportunity.. Their "instincts" are much more in tune with the behavior of humans... Love both.. Sadly dogs will attempt to "do better".. Thankfully, cats will leave if the opportunity arises because the human is a "fail".. Be Well!! 😃
@@randallulrich, my cat comes when i whistle for him and fallows me around and his best animal friends are a husky ,2 wolf hounds ,and a Nufandlund . But i understand he is probably not typical .
I’m 62 and have 3 cats. I have had a cat since i was 6 years old. I am so appreciative of my parents for allowing us to have pets. I cannot imagine Not sharing my life with a furry friend.
In 1969, when I was 8 years old and in 2nd grade. I had a life-changing event. Our family cat was pregnant and one night she decided to have her kittens on my pillow while I was sleeping. And, she had only given birth to two yet. My family has always had cats. But they always become, by their choice, my cats. Almost all talk to me, too.
I think that is why I call myself part kitty! When I was growing up we had cats that had multiple litters of kittens that my mom ended taking to the shelter. I’m sure they got adopted. I feel like I can talk to cats cause of this!
Hey me 2 cats love me even the wild one come around me I hot 7 cats all were wild and they only like me when we have company it's like we don't even have a cat 😅😅
@Goofstr I'm the same age as you and when I was a kid my mother had a cat a year older than me and it became my pet, I guess.the cat was in my crib all the time sleeping with me when I was a baby and just always following me chose me, and she had kittens in bed beside me while I was watching Frankenstein on a black and white TV at 9 or 10 years old very cool, that cat lived 25 26 years.😎😸
I really don't understand why people are so threatened by a small kitty cat. It's your cats' home too. Deal with it. If you can't share the space with kitty, why would kitty want to share the space with you?
Lololololololol. Not laughing at you, but I feel you. My baby accidentally jumped up to the window but it was closed. I couldn't help but to giggle. Ohhh, she gave me the stink eye.
😆 That we have experienced many times too. They have feelings and understand the different of being laughed of or till People must earn their cats love and respect, just as humans. I feel cats are the animal most close to us beside apes.
Great video. I already knew much of this. One thing I would like to add is that if a cat wants you to follow them somewhere, then do it. I had my cat lead me to her injured litter sister that my neighbour owned.
Our one cat went missing ... Spoutnik used the house as base-camp, and went out in every direction and back to change to the next, for 2 days! We never found Zorro.
I used to love doing that when I was a kid. The cat would walk slowly and occasionally turn to look back at me as though to make sure I was still following. I've always loved cats.
As a new cat over, I have done some research before so I’m prepared for what I’m getting myself into. But I always learn something new from these videos, some tips and tricks! 😻
As a younger energetic cat, my cat was constantly breaking things. Now when I say "dammit", he stops and doesn't move for a few seconds, then resumes whatever he's doing. When I arrive home I get a 15-minute lecture, and recently when I was gone for 2 1/2 days I was lectured constantly for 1 1/2 hours. My cat owns the entire home - I'm just the interloper who pays for his food and home.
I have a heavenly male cat. Never break a thing, pots, plant, jump on sofa table.etc. good bowl always intact or in place. no peeing around. doesn't behave like a cat but we'll behave child.
When I go to lay down, I say "Okay, Tommy" and he jumps down, then waits until I settle down before he jumps back up and settles down behind my legs. After I get up, he moves to where I was sleeping and goes back to sleep.
This video taught me that as long as I avoid treating my cats the way my mom treated us kids growing up, then I'm good! All I need to do is acknowledge that they have a love language specific to their species psychology and to pay attention to it, listen to their needs as they learn to ways communicate them to me, and respect them as individual beings that operate much differently than myself! Pleased to say that our cats very undoubtedly love us! They even flop over to demand a belly rub when they see myself or my husband enter the room.
Hi all. I have 11 cats, Boo-Boo, Patch, Emma, Devon, Penny, Lottie, Abbie,Josh, Charlie, Cooper, and Jacob. They are indoor babies, desexed and very Loved and spoiled. They follow me around even to the loo. They are all amazing! Always wait for me to come home and sleep on and around me all the time. I am building an enclosed pergola also rainproof so they can enjoy the outdoors safely and I can spend time outside with them. Sofa, scratching trees, perches lots of things to play with and a safe firepit. Being loved by a cat/ cats is the best blessing there is.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My husband passed away last August and our cat stopped eating for nearly two weeks m he also over groomed and needed my help to remove his knots in his fur. We slept together cuddled up for two weeks. Fortunately he's eating now after 9 months and is still very caring all the time.
Perfect outside place for them. I'm a 24 years rescuer. I love it. I'd like to have a huge green play yard with a "perfect fence" put up for them where nothing can get in and no one can get out. I d set up a pefect kitty play yard. Also my daughter has an ESA dog who, of course, grew up with all sizes of kittens n cats that will be included in the safe haven yard. ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
I have known cats and had cats over 50 years, all could enjoy running in the gras -feeling the sun and explore nature. Most of about 18 cats over years, was satisfided with hunting insects. Always food available, always freedom and much love both ways. To force cats to be just inside are animal abuse, who have indoor dogs??
When I was sick with a bad strain of the flu and slowly recovering but not getting over it, I still drove with my Mum to a dog breeder in PA, from MA, we got there and sat outside with her & all these cats started coming out from eveeywhere & climbing on me and rubbing against me. The owner said she'd never seen them do that before. When I got home I went to a final doctor's appt before getting on a plane to vacation in Hawaii. When I got home there was a message from my doctor telling me I was in full renal failure. Cats are EXTREMELY psychic & intuitive.
I'm fairly certain that my cat can tell when I'm thinking about him, although the feral cats flee from me, which I consider a good thing. It's not good for them to trust strangers. It's good to have a healthy fear of humans. I certainly do.
I get this laseras a gift when I bought the second cat, they play 2 weeks, after they start to get bored about it, they just look at it hoping i will stop soon and go to an other fisic toy that still love it, maybe they like to see me moving and get tired(I running in the house with toy) as they do 😅. (Sorry my bad English)
My cat,Henry is so close to me, I feel like he's my shadow. And I love it. He sleeps with me, and I follow " routine"Lol. Seriously, Henry does have a specific routine. I know when he wants to play with his favorite toy, when he wants to take his cat nap, etc. All the cat owners know exactly what I'm talking about ❤
@@luvindastillers714 I ’m so sorry for your loss !! I recently argued with a “animals don’t have souls, don’t go to heaven “ dude. Heaven would be a sad and lonely place without our fur babies! I think heaven will be like Eden, and all those we have loved and lost will be there with us. May you be reunited over the rainbow 🌈
My cat minnow is a rescue from a hoarding situation with 73 other cats. It’s taken almost two years but she now loves sitting in my lap. She’s very specific about where and when she wants to be touched. She’s a long hair and her aversion to brushing of any kind makes it very difficult to groom her. It has necessitated having her shaved. We are still working on it, gently and carefully.
When I leave / come home or wake up / go to bed, I always try to greet everyone. I say their names and give them pets. When I get home from work, they also get a treat. I learned somewhere about snapping your fingers to get their attention and redirect them. 9 times out of 10 it works.
Thank you for making scented litter your number one thing to avoid ! So many cat owners don’t understand this. The greedy companies and stores don’t care. There are many more scented litters on the shelves than unscented.
I always say, if I can't stand the smell then my cats definitely can't. It was so hard to find a good unscented litter and when I did, most of the time it's sold out.
I’m thankful for scented litter and my cats, all 5 of them, couldn’t care less. I also add baking soda and some “smell good” crystals I order from Chewy and they still don’t care. I’ve been the mom of 17 indoor cats of my own since I’ve been an adult.(a long time. lol.) and that’s not counting foster cats and kittens. Nobody cares, except each wants to be the first to use it first after it’s clean.
I also have a feral cat, who, for being as skittish as she is from what I could tell was a hard life; she is extremely sweet, loving, and bonded to me. But I think she will always be on ‘high alert’ for what she perceives as threats; this video was very helpful in reminding me of little things to bear in mind with her. My other cat is very laid back and has accepted her into the household, that makes me very relieved as I want her to ‘get away’ from that miserable first 3 months of her life. She has several areas that are her zones, I’ve had her a year now and she has gotten comfortable with my cat and two small dogs! So I’d say she’s overcome a lot right there. We love her very much!
I have a feral cat and as you can imagine the do's and don'ts are very different. I got him from the local rescue when he was 3 mos and thought he was just a regular cat. He came directly from their little cage to my home, (kitchen-food) up in the high Southwest mountains, so he never got a chance to become "feral feral". After a yr I concluded he was very different and thought well he was a mountain cat. That didn't feel right and when he was 3 I looked up feral in wiki and the definition was exactly him. He has always slept with me, walks on my head in the morning, talks to me all day. He loves me, I love him, the house is as much his as it is mine, but he is special, he is an empath, he understands when I talk to him, often he's like a people. His DNA won't let him do somethings and makes him do other things. For the first time in 4 yrs he came and sat in my lap and stayed, is the ultimate hunter
Our cat Sonny showed up on the back porch a year ago and said I'm going to be your cat. He only liked me and my son. He's one of a kind. So smart. I still wonder where he came from.
I never gave thought to cats having deep emotions, until twice, my 10 year old cat became suddenly, well, almost dead. The first time, I was having a bad day, and I pushed him off of his favorite spot: cuddled up next to me on the couch. I was mad at something else, and didn't realize what I had done until I found him the next day, hiding behind a door. He was alive, but %95 unresponsive. He sat awkwardly on the floor half standing, half sitting, gazing into the abyss, saliva around his mouth. It took hours of love and apologies for him to begin to respond to stimulus, and a full day before he walked, ate food, and drank water. He made a full recovery. The first time it happened, I didn't get it. I though he ate something poisonous. The second time I caused it, I got it, and I've never pushed him away while angry at something stupid since. I'm %1000 more loving and understanding to him now, and he's forgiven me. Who's the bigger man?
@@stonemagic540 No, as far as I could perceive from spending time with him before, during, and after, it was %100 emotional pain. It's been a couple years since then, and he fully recovered both times.
My cat knows the word "NO!" There's no need to discipline or squirt him. A simple no discourages him from undesirable behavior. My cat and I meow at each other all the time. He meows at me, then I meow at him, then he meows back at me. I often think when he meows back, he's correcting the grammar in my meow. When we play with the laser light, I didn't know about giving him a treat at the end, but I do pet him abundantly and tell him what a good hunter he is. All the other things in the video are well taken care of. I have a band and we rehearse in our living room, but when the other members show up he knows to run and hide under the bed (which is on the other side of the house). That's the same place he goes when there is a thunderstorm. When I come home, he always comes to meet me and wants his pets and a treat! He's so good and very well adjusted. He is my best buddy! He's getting old and I don't know if I'll ever be able to recover when he's gone. That's the thing I hate about pets. I want them to live forever!
I have a mental health issue and I have mostly had female cats to help me with my mental health issues but they have died and now I have a male cat who loves to play with me and jump in to my arms in the morning before breakfast and likes rubbing his head against my legs 😊
I think the biggest thing i learned from this is giving Angus a treat or a toy to attack after we use his laser pointer. Even though we dont really use that much over actual physical toys i like actually seeing him grab something. I dont think my cat has a no pet zone except his toes if u touch his belly he will roll over and let u pet it even if he is just meeting u for the first time. He loves humans who are calm and will gently pet him
My cat was a feral, she still doesn't like other people but I can do what I like with her, when I eat she has to eat as well, she loves to curl up with me for a long cuddle
I run a cat rescue, currently with 19 cats living in my house. I have never had a single problem adding another cat into the rescue, an amount of hissing and tussling for hierarchy is normal. Cats also don't only speak because they are saying hello or need your help. Often they have caught a toy in some way that they feel was worthy of note and want praise for it. This happens to me with several of mine, they will meow for hours if you ignore them. But if you give then a little praise over their catly actions they quiet right down.
I read a book. Buddhism for Pet Lovers, 4 years ago i turned off TV until 7 at night, I started meditating before bed and she started sitting near me, now she sits on my belly in the morning, I have hearing problems, I knew they had better hearing, but I didn't realize how loud tv was, I started wearing hearing aids the VA provided with a bluetooth device so no loud sound, I am told that if she has tail up in air, and constantly laying with her belly exposed meant she feels secure, every christmas I play a video of Amazing Grace w/bagpipes, she loves it. Only music she likes, rewarding after the red dot is new,mi will try it, I call Baby my guru because I learn so much from her. She is my last kitty, had her since she was 3 weeks 🙏🙏🙏
I love spending time with my kitties and their other kitty friends. Just being around them makes me happy. They follow me everywhere I go. Yes even the shower. They’re always there and I carry on a conversation with them like I would be talking to another person. They seem to enjoy this. 😻
My cats loved a cheery greeting when I returned from work. Afterward, it was dinner time! Now! I like to sing, so I always sang Peggy Lee's "Okay, All Right, You Win - I'm in love with you." The cats tolerated the singing.
I have over 200 animals all together (chickens, ducks, turkeys, cats, dogs, 1 big piggy) all pets and still take time after work before work and any free time I have to learn their little quirks and personalities. This is what I enjoy. Animals are a gift strait from the heaven’s ❤😊
My 3 cats either greet me when I walk into the house or when I sit down. Their favorite hunting toy is a fish on a stick, and they play with by themselves sometimes. All three cats like their heads, necks, backs, and butts scratched and their butts patted. The female doesn't mind her belly rubbed. My cats find new spots to sleep in all of the time. I might scratch a head as I walk by but don't really bother them when they are relaxing. I yell "no" if they are doing something I don't want them to do, other than that, I don't punish them because they see punishment as being abused. If one of my cats meows, it gets petted. I have one that meows about every half hour wanting attention. Sometimes, he meows from another room, and I yell "what' and he comes running to me. While getting attention, the males sometimes lick my knees and rub their faces on me to mark me. I don't get much company, but I had a salesman at the front door the other day and a couple of the cats were there wanting to know who I was talking to. The cleaning solutions and air fresheners i use don't seem to bother my cats. I don't get any alone time when I am home. Whether I am cooking, washing dishes, doing laundry, showering, using the toilet, brushing my teeth, on the computer, watching TV, or scooping their poop and flushing it down the toilet, one or all three cats are with me. Whichever male cat lies down on the bed first, sleeps with me at night. I have three cats that love attention and get a lot of it.
Great advice. A tip Cats can’t stand the pet carrier as necessary as it is to do things like take them to the vet. I figured out where my cat would go when he was really scared. That is where I stored his carrier. I would find him sleeping in it.
When I come home from work my cat is always waiting by the door for me. I pick her up and give her a long hug. Hearing her purr makes me feel so much better 🥹
I tell my cat that he's my bestest friend in the entire universe and that we'll be together forever, even beyond death, that we'll find each other again.
A word about the litter box substrate. I've changed to wood pellet bedding from the feed store. BEST THING I'VE EVER DONE. Nine dollars for a forty pound bag. Smells better. Easier to use. Cats like it. Doesn't track dust.
Just don't get the pine, it's not good for them as pine is toxic for them. Some people say it doesn't matter, but why would you experiment with your cats?
Great video! A tip. When I adopted a cat for someone, I put him in the a room he would be in a lot but not a huge area. I put his litter box food, water and the things that were considered his. I did this in the smallest room I could that was not a bathroom. I then left for several hours. I gave him time to know he was safe and gave him time to study his environment so he would feel safe. When I came home I went into that room and closed the door. I played a video that was not loud as far as violent but soothing. I made zero effort to seek him out but let him make that decision. Within hours that cat was purring after having lost his safe spot.
Our two cats tolerate each other. They're both wonderful in their own ways and diffusers seem to help keep them calm. Thanks for all your suggestions. great content!
My husband and I have four male cats that are rescued. One of them has resource aggression. He has anxiety so he’s on medication. When he gets aggressive I walk over and calmly scoop him up and bring him to my sewing room. This is his safe spot. I close the door and play with him. He has a bed in the window, a water fountain, litter box, and toys in there. After he tells me that he’s done playing, he hops into his bed and takes a nap. I close the door for him so he isn’t disturbed by the others. He loves it.
I love my cat so much he is never ignored and he trusts me enough for me to pet his belly but only near the chest ofc I’ve had him for 9 years and he is my precious baby
My sweet girl was from the litter my 1st cat gave me. She was 20 when I payed her to rest. I can't think of anything wrong she did, cause there was nothing! God bless you Monka. 🕊️
I don't have any pets but there are neighbours cats that come into my garden, which I don't mind, but this is helpful as now I know how to interact with them. Thanks for sharing.
I have an indoor Cat. I rescued her. She is about 5 year, she is very reserved with strangers. She great me when I come back home. I always interact with her. Thank you for your information. I never had any problem with cat litter that have a scented.
One day, a few years ago, I went out late in the afternoon and didn't return until very late as I had a meeting to attend. This is something I had never done before. When I came home all three cats and my dog were waiting for me. All of them showed a sense of relief in their faces and dispersed upon realizing I was back. (The dog stuck around as he needed to go out.)
I was sat on the sofa watching something spooky with the lights off really into it. Unbeknown to me my Cat got onto the sofa next to me then sneezed I jumped out of my skin 😂 it's funny to me I don't know why. He really brightens my day and these videos help me to brighten his so thank you ❤
1:07 For myself, the best tip I got from this video is the one about the laser pointer. #8: 'Disregarding Their Hunting Instincts!'. I've used it with all my feline babies over the many years I've owned cats, but I never even considered that without some kind of reward after play, that they might be MORE tense AND frustrated because their hunting instincts were not completely satisfied -- but the logic is so simple and makes complete sense. This may also explain why my cat will often quickly become bored with the laser pointer -- this has always puzzled me. Your insight is much appreciated! I definitely will keep this tip in mind the next time I use the laser pointer. Thank you!
The night routine of my cat isnt always the same. Some nights he sleeps at home and other nights he spend them outside but...every morning wen im preparing for work he follows me asking for petting and he knows that will recieve it😅 next asks for food , eats and go to sleep... Wen i leave he is already sleeping (again) happy and feeded ( His name is Gato)
We have feral cats that are slowing accepting us. Then, one large male Tom came into the mixture. He is very territorial and aggressive with the other 4 cats, especially the males. He makes feeding time so stressful for the others as well as us. They have all been neutered and the tiny female is the only one to put him in his place. Also they are all outside cats.
There are quite a few feral-ish cats around my neighbourhood - which is kind of paradoxical to human perspective because it's a fairly 'nice' area. But then human paradise can be cat ghetto. He appears to have passed on now but - the one I would have considered to be the toughest around here was a hardened veteran of his owners' rural French idyll. Probably fighting bears and wolves when he wasn't getting kisses and cuddles. Gentle and adoring to any person but a dangerous thug in the arena of cats and dogs. It's quite fun reckoning which cats are related going on familiar traits of their interactions with me. I would surmise signs of arrested feline emotional development in some of the opulent human households.
Thanks, your information is right-on, having lived with cats for seven decades, always with deep attachments. One thing I can't understand is having a litter box (except for inclement weather). With any bit of land around a dwelling, cats easily learn to do their bizness before being called in for the night. Their tidy habit of covering things up is really perfect.
I don’t believe in yelling or pushing a cat away. But I also don’t believe in rewarding ( giving them something to distract) them when they lay on things that you are doing/working on. But….that is what I do! I reward them with laughter hugs and kisses! I give them the attention they are looking for.
As of March 27th I had 2 beautiful babies. Unfortunately I had to surrender them when I moved. Recently found my oldest was recently adopted out. My youngest took off the day I was try to put her in the carrier. It’s been 2 months since I seen her. She got a microchip last year. I was told that who I got the chip from, they could set out alerts for the missing cat. I don’t know if that’s true. I ache for both of them. Therefore postings on instagram, facebook, and even my physical therapist sent information, including Angel’s pictures out to other shelters. I wish someone would see her already and tell me something. Set my mind and heart at ease❤❤❤….
Today, I thought of one other place I didn’t contact to help me find my missing Angel……metropark police/rangers. She’s somewhere in the part that is connected to the apartment building.
We have 3 boys (8 years , 3 years and to 10 months) and one female (8 years). We think that the female had been abused by men at some point. She very affectionate towards the females in the house but doesn't care for males. She also rarely strays from her favorite person's room because she's so skittish and spends a lot of time hiding. The two oldest boys really bully her, particularly the 2nd oldest who is almost twice her size. He will lay into her and rip her fur out despite her fighting back. We have tried to redirect, give them equal time, toys, etc. but he seems to be very jealous of her and will go the room she's in and ambush her if she gives him a chance. He's very affectionate, loving (towards people) and funny when he isn't in his bullying mode and gets lot of affection, playtime and treats (he could eat all day if we let him), but we don't understand why he is so mean to her. He can be aggressive with the other boys, but they give back what they get and sometimes that gets out of hand so we try to stop it before it starts by redirecting. He is also the most difficult one to get to play.
I pray to God to give you a lot of beautiful days and you know God loves us so much,So where are you originally from? I am David originally from Spain but currently living in Texas now.
I have a female cat and we are extremely close. I've always respected her needs with the upmost respect. I never punish, I always just try solving the problem myself for them. So I'm quite happy the way me and my cats relationship are at. Love and respect your cats people!!❤😻
We found out that the wood chip variety of cat litter works AWESOME compared to the clay!! It clumps better and absorbs the smell. Plus it's a LOT lighter too.
I would be very careful about using any wood kinds of litter. If your cat scratches around in their litter box as most do......they can get small splinters in between their toes. I know cause it happen to my cat. All companies do not give much thought to any harm some products can do to your pets. Guess all they care is if they make their money! 😏😠 So do be aware!!
5 cats here ...in order, Mr Eye 12 years old and 95% blind since birth, Marvin, 8 years old, my twins Mon Cheri and Ira Knuddelbug both 3 years old, and Chicken (Chic) 2 years old. All are outdoors and indoor cats. They eat in the House (People dump their cats in my area and i don't feed the strays). They are waiting at the door in the mornings to be let in so they can eat. After feeding they go back out side. And all day long they are in and out of the house (mom needs exercise you know🤣) I have a doggy door that i sometimes open for them, but Mr Eye brought me mice before, so now it usually stays shut. Only when i work outside the house and i am always in and out myself, i will set their food dish outside...
My two cat are like that. Miss Baby face Amelia goes out for short times, When she wants to come in, if I don't hear her her brother Pretty boy Frankie (they are namd after '30's gangsters pretty boy Floyd and baby face Nelson)will sit by the door t tell me she is ut there waiting. Frankieis obese I am trying to cut down on his food but it is hard to resist his "I am starving" meows. . any suggestions?
Dogs will love you unconditionally, you can usually use your love language and even if they have preferences, they will feel loved. Cats, like humans have varying love languages. If you show them love in the way they feel loved, it will be returned. When it comes to the love aspect, dogs are easy mode. If you want an independent buddy thst requires more effort to have a relationship, get a cat.
Excellent video in understanding cats and their behavior. Human owners bear the responsibility of owning and changing behaviors which do not support their pets. Thank you for this information.
My cat Yossi is frankly the best friend I ever had. He is a real source of happiness and balance. My greatest joy is to see him happy and excited when playing before eating after chasing away birds or when curled up sleeping on my lap which he does every evening for an hour or so. I am autistic and have problems sometimes but he seems to understand them and often tries to comfort me.
i foster 5, and an immediate premptive, and solid clear NO, fallowed by a squirt if they persist, is the only 'discipline' they have known(no point is 'discplining' them for what they already forgot). though deliberate temporary shunning can be very effective for certain violations. and thank you for codifying it all so well...
My cats don't get emotionally hurt. They are cool farm cats I took in from abandoned kittens. They are cool and dont do silly things. They rule in their world.
This is great info. I do agree with Jackson Galaxy about the “unders” like under the bed or even very high spots. If they can get somewhere that they would hide and you can’t access them in an emergency, that can put them at increased danger. I hadn’t thought of that before.
I have had so many cats in my life that I cannot remember them all. But I can tell you absolutely that none of them ever needed a shrink to help them through a crisis. I find this line of discussion hilarious. Cats crave attention and they will take it whenever offered. I currently have a 15 year old ginger and he and I are best buds and there is nothing I could do to hurt his feelings. But your video is entertaining. Thanks.

Hope this will be useful to her.
I’m sorry for your loss. ❤

Isn't it amazing how our standoff pets come to a tight bond at the end? I look at it like they say "I get it now, and thank you so much" 👽🗿👽🗿👽

I am a cat owner of one year. I didn't know how much they communicated with certain cues. They are highly intelligent. But you have to pay attention.
Toy on a string, they love that and if on a semi regular schedule will seek it out at that time every day. Rapid movements get their attention, but give them long enough to catch it and watch them get their vicious on!
You are a cat parent. Not owner. They aren't your obedient little pet

Never punish them psychically or any way it won't work. It's abuse. The older generation seems to think it's ok and it absolutely is Not.
@Goddessbrea23 abuse is bad, I believe anyone who is a decent person would agree

DOGS have MASTERS...
CATS HAVE STAFF!!!
No.
Dog's have a pack...
They can have a very hard time when treated as an outcast.
Domestic cats are somewhere between "pride" and "solitary"..
They accept and return the companionship on a reciprocal basis.
A dog will seek to appease a harsh "alpha"
A cat will leave a harsh companion if given the opportunity..
Their "instincts" are much more in tune with the behavior of humans...
Love both..
Sadly dogs will attempt to "do better"..
Thankfully, cats will leave if the opportunity arises because the human is a "fail"..
Be Well!! 😃

Cats take a message and get back to you.

Your parents were smart. Happy for you. Your post made me smile.😊
I got lost here😅
My cat had her kittens in bed with me when I was a teenager.. eww.. it was lol
Hey me 2 cats love me even the wild one come around me I hot 7 cats all were wild and they only like me when we have company it's like we don't even have a cat 😅😅
@Goofstr I'm the same age as you and when I was a kid my mother had a cat a year older than me and it became my pet, I guess.the cat was in my crib all the time sleeping with me when I was a baby and just always following me chose me, and she had kittens in bed beside me while I was watching Frankenstein on a black and white TV at 9 or 10 years old very cool, that cat lived 25 26 years.😎😸
So, in other words, my cat runs my house, not me.
Well, you can’t spell HOMEOWNER without MEOW.

Great video. I already knew much of this. One thing I would like to add is that if a cat wants you to follow them somewhere, then do it. I had my cat lead me to her injured litter sister that my neighbour owned.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 😸💜
I’ve had cats my whole life. Yet, I always learn something new here. Thanks for the tips you provide with these videos.
Thank you very much for your words!

I was once hospitalized for four days, and when I came home, the cat jumped up on my chest and wouldn't leave for hours at a time.
I want my cat to have a better life than I've had and remain safe from the world.
Being loved by a cat/ cats is the best blessing there is.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It will be so lovely for them to experience outside and fresh air.

My cat figured out where the red light comes from so she looks at the dot, then at my hand, as if to say she's not going to fall for that again. LOL
Amazing! Haha
So smart! 💜
My cat has learned that I am in control of the red dot too 😅
Mine too
I get this laseras a gift when I bought the second cat, they play 2 weeks, after they start to get bored about it, they just look at it hoping i will stop soon and go to an other fisic toy that still love it, maybe they like to see me moving and get tired(I running in the house with toy) as they do 😅. (Sorry my bad English)
My cats figured out where the light comes from too. They play with the dot for a while and then just stare at my hand.

Lili and I have been together for 17 years. We love each other. Meow
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 💜
Scented litter makes me ill
Can’t stand the stuff
I always say, if I can't stand the smell then my cats definitely can't. It was so hard to find a good unscented litter and when I did, most of the time it's sold out.
Makes you wonder why cat groomers spray them with perfume afterwards…..😖
That's a beautiful story! ❤
What makes him feral?

@@M-Ardell Mostly they are cats that have a deep aversion towards humans
Who's the bigger man?
did he have a stroke ?
One time I was crying bc one of my cats drowned in our pool and our other cat came over and comforted me

I have a mental health issue and I have mostly had female cats to help me with my mental health issues but they have died and now I have a male cat who loves to play with me and jump in to my arms in the morning before breakfast and likes rubbing his head against my legs 😊
I find males to be more affectionate. My females, not as much.
He loves humans who are calm and will gently pet him
My cat is almost a year old, this is my first cat and she's the best I can't believe it but I'm a cat person now 😊

My cat makes sounds like he's been separated from the light of God when I'm taking a shower.
They all have their individual personalities. They are so sweet and gentle. Its sad when you lose them.
My cats loved a cheery greeting when I returned from work. Afterward, it was dinner time! Now! I like to sing, so I always sang Peggy Lee's "Okay, All Right, You Win - I'm in love with you." The cats tolerated the singing.
I sing songs of love for my cat, such as "Daddy Loves Him" to the tune of "London Bridge is Falling Down" and various other songs.
I have over 200 animals all together (chickens, ducks, turkeys, cats, dogs, 1 big piggy) all pets and still take time after work before work and any free time I have to learn their little quirks and personalities. This is what I enjoy. Animals are a gift strait from the heaven’s ❤😊
I love chickens. Where most people see a rooster and some hens, I see a pimp and some hoes, although it's really more like a harem.

Our cats greet us a the door when we come home. We always have a joyful reunion back to the pride!
My lobster went from a dumpster, rowdy and stressed baby, and with lots of love and patience, grew into such a good boy.
I had been doing this with my cat and maybe that why we had such a close bond until I call him my soul mate!

My mom's male cats all fought with each other and picked on the sweetest female cat.

Thank you!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 😸💜

Thank you so much! Before I didn't know I was hurting my cat's feelings. Thanks for giving me advice to bond me and my cat's relationship! 😊
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 😄🧡
My oldest cat is 23 years old and I've learned all the advice you've given over the years
I have three now and have a happy home to come home to
We have feral cats that are slowing accepting us.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 😸💜
They are safer indoors. Also, outside cats decimate bird populations and upset the balance of nature.
I don’t believe in yelling or pushing a cat away. But I also don’t believe in rewarding ( giving them something to distract) them when they lay on things that you are doing/working on. But….that is what I do! I reward them with laughter hugs and kisses! I give them the attention they are looking for.
Thank you so much for another great video!
The tuxedo kitten at 6:52, so lovely and cute 🤍😽🙏✨
Thank you for your words! I'm glad you enjoyed! 😸 💜
I have 7 fuzzy children and love each one of them
thanks a LOT for the USEFUL information PERIOD
Good advise ❤

So do be aware!!
Yours vids are amazing! I can’t wait for when I can get my own cat, and now I’m going to use your videos to learn. Please keep making more ! 🐱
I'm glad you enjoy my videos! 😸💜
5 cats here
...in order, Mr Eye 12 years old and 95% blind since birth, Marvin, 8 years old, my twins Mon Cheri and Ira Knuddelbug both 3 years old, and Chicken (Chic) 2 years old.
All are outdoors and indoor cats. They eat in the House (People dump their cats in my area and i don't feed the strays).
They are waiting at the door in the mornings to be let in so they can eat.
After feeding they go back out side. And all day long they are in and out of the house (mom needs exercise you know🤣)
I have a doggy door that i sometimes open for them, but Mr Eye brought me mice before, so now it usually stays shut.
Only when i work outside the house and i am always in and out myself, i will set their food dish outside...
Great info thank you❤
Excellent video! I have attempted to convey this information to people for decades. Thank you for making it available for so many!
These are all excellent tips 👍👍♥️😻
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 😸💜
As an animal communicator, I can agree that several of these things really bother cats
I my Molly will start a loud meowing when she thinks it is time for my Toy Poodle to come back in.
Thank you so much!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 😸💜
My cat is deaf and blind he's unbelievably easy to care for and incredibly great ful
Thank you! Sort of knew this in back of head.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 😸💜
I think I’m doing everything right from your video. Some people are part kitty like I always say I am! Great video!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 😸💜
@@TheCuriousCatt I did!
My grandson and I have two sister kittens, they are a joy to watch and we are learning how to teach them, thank you for this video
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 😸💜
We have a very unique cat who plays fetch with her spring and will sit and stay before you go out the door. So special!
😸 💜
My cat loves being petted on her head and shoulders.
My cat likes heavy metal rock and roll Eddie Van Halen's guitar
My cat meows, I respond. Every time.:) I love my cat.
i foster 5, and an immediate premptive, and solid clear NO, fallowed by a squirt if they persist, is the only 'discipline' they have known(no point is 'discplining' them for what they already forgot). though deliberate temporary shunning can be very effective for certain violations.
and thank you for codifying it all so well...
My cats don't get emotionally hurt. They are cool farm cats I took in from abandoned kittens. They are cool and dont do silly things. They rule in their world.
Me and my 2 year old cat loves to cuddles and play
This is great info. I do agree with Jackson Galaxy about the “unders” like under the bed or even very high spots. If they can get somewhere that they would hide and you can’t access them in an emergency, that can put them at increased danger. I hadn’t thought of that before.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 😄🧡
I got scented litter when I first got my cat (
Frank The Cat is so mellow now. When I got him he was a rescue from a home of 5 cats. Needless to say my Alpha boy is just a happy boy now.
Thanks.
