Her name is Daisy. When we found her she had low blood pressure, high white cells and diarrhea. Today is a healthy dog. She is looking for a forever family. A family that will understand her fear for people and will give her time to feel safe and loved.

@@NukeyB Daisy had been abused in some way and then disposed of by her owner. And the dogs with sensitive souls need time to heal and become happy and self confident again - in her case Ermioni put her into the company of other happy and friendly dogs and she recovered within one year and was adopted. You can see in the video that when Daisy saw thru the wire fence the other happy dogs, for a short while she wagged her tail - this was the first good sign.

Thank goodness she was rescued by kind loving people like yourselves. She was terrified and traumatised. Dogs are intelligent, sensitive animals. It was great to see that moment when she wagged her tail for the first time. 😍🥰. You have changed Daisy's life to happiness again.

Neighbours knew who'd tied the dog up & were either scared to do anything about it, or it was one of the neighbours themselves who'd done it. Either way, the dog didn't deserve such treatment & you are good, kind people to rescue her. Glad to hear that you've been able to find a "forever" home where she'll be able to regain her trust in humans.

Poor darling has never known a kind hand until she met you. All her life she's been exploited and abused. It takes time for kindness to be understood. Those villagers who stood there starring are brain-dead. They don't know which way is up. Glad this beautiful girl is saved. I hope she's very happy.

If they untied her, she might have been hit by a car. Or not be able to been caught again as she might have a flight response out of her fear.
Unfortunately, in Greece it's common to see injured,sick,emaciated dogs and cats on the streets,on the side of the road,just roaming around desperately looking for food and love..very few care.. check Takis shelter as well,this guy who gave everything he had to save the animals in his town,this man has a story or two to tell about how things are in Greece about the plague of stray animals! The majority of people don't care..and it's considered normal to keep dogs in remote areas attached to a a tree by a one meter chain,with no vet care,company,shelter, just dirty water to drink..they get food once or twice a week if lucky..and if you tell them this isn't the way to keep an animal they look at you as you are the crazy one,as they don't see anything wrong with that..Yes,it's that bad..

Unfortunately,i've lived in Greece for four summers of my life (three months every time) and i've witnessed with my own eyes what i told you.. at the end,i've spent my time there feeding,fixing and rescuing cats and dogs everywhere..it was horrible..same as the south of Italy,where the situation it's very similar..
I used to have two suitcases,one full only of dry and can food,medicine,collars etc etc..
And so many times i've been insulted,mocked and even attacked by locals who didn't even want me to help those poor animals..once i was pushed and insulted because i gave some water and food to a miserable donkey who was swaying and almost collapsing..his nice owner left him tied under the scorching greek sun of august with so much weight on his back,while he was having a beer with his friends..
So sad..i am not saying ALL greek people are like this,i've also met nice ones who were willing to help,but the greatest part think animals are just on this planet to be used and abused,if they cannot be of and service (like cats,or older dogs) they are just a bother..

Heartbreakingly sad. That is the most traumatized dog I have ever seen. Such a beautiful dog too. How any one could ever be cruel to such a lovely creature is beyond me. Thank you so much for rescuing her.
There are monsters among us, under human shape. In one of his novels John Steinbeck the Nobel Prize winner wrote this. He wrote that some human monsters who are born without a conscience. They are not human. Hitler was one of them. But it seems that in Greece too, there are a few of them. But Takis, the animal lover is the opposite, just watch his shelter and what he is doing.
I choose the company of my animals over the company of most people any day of the week. The human race has sadly lost its way. Beautiful dog. I would've told those people they should be ashamed of themselves. No food or water offered. Heartless.

The neighbors in that neighborhood are apearantly no better that who tied her there. To watch and say nothing as Ermioni passes , and it took 24 hours to call for help. ?? Dear Lisa, Ermioni is an angel, I totally trust her and I support her shelter with monthly donations. If she does not publish updates on Daisy, it's with a good reason.
She reminds me of the type of dog someone has been screaming at. Maybe this is why she’s so afraid. She doesn’t understand love & kindness. 🐶She’ll adjust over time when she hears sounds of kindness around her. 🐶
She was expecting to be handled roughly or beaten, to be physically abused. My dog never got rid of these looks she sometimes gives me when her fear overcomes her. Like for example when I have to get her harness on and she isn't mentally ready or I approach too fast.
She's really traumatized. Poor dear. Whatever you're doing with her seems to be working. Keep up the good work.

Saving animals is such a amazing thing 🤍🤍
It is always a hopeful moment to watch you rescue an animal in need, even those that are too sick or too badly injured to survive after you rescued them. Even these didn't have to die alone and in pain hidden or in plain sight of human indifference.
This one is a hopeful rescue. Her body and mind healed. We have the added bonus of Katerina's presence, doing what she loved, helping animals.
I don't know what makes a person capable of treating an innocent animal this way. Dogs have such sweet, pure hearts and it truly bothers and upsets me to see them treated so cruelly. It's nothing less than pure Evil. God Bless you and thank you for being there x

OMG😱 how could anyone mistreat this innocent soul this brutal way. NO ANIMAL chooses anything SOME CRUEL HUMANS ARE THE ONES WHO CHOSE TO WHAT THE WANT AFTER HAVING USED THEM FOR THEIR PURPOSE UNFORTUNATELY! She’s so gentle and so beautiful. No one can blame her for being terrified it seems that she’s also been abused because her tail was in between her legs. They are so loyal and so obedient. I’m an animal lover. I wish i know how can i help to feed and protect these beautiful helpful innocent dogs/pups and other abused, and left abandoned animals. No fault of their to have been born.

She was shaking out of fear, she looks very depressed.. Wish people learn this precious animals are here to heal us in such way.. DAR is an amazing place where they do so much for animals like this one I know she will be OK.

This sweet lovely dog has been adopted after she spent one year in the Shelter. It was not said where she is with her adoptive family. She had been shaking when people approached her, I can't imagine what had been done to her before. I love this nice doggy and am happy that she is in good place now.
