    Check out the Walmart B roll, notice how the windows are boarded up? I filmed that before the "trial" and everyone was worried about the rioting that might take place (again), from which I live really close too. Fun fact for you!

      SD, how are the sales on your course going? You should plug it in all of the descriptions of your videos.

    I bought curtains from a charity shop and turned them into boiler suits. We’ve been decorating the house recently and it’s much more fun to do it when you are wearing a floral print.

    Great tip Stylish D! I use $1 generic jeans from Good Will to practice the original hem method and I also practice tapering with $1 jeans. I usually hem and taper more expensive Levi's and Lucky Brand jeans so it's better to sharpen your skills with cheap, no-name, house brand jeans.

    We have a little thrift store in town were you can buy shirts for 3 bugs or original packed bed sheets from 1970 for 5 bugs. I love it to use as practice to tailor clothes.

    This a golden beginner video with the sheets it really helped me learn with cutting all of them on pieces. Now lol I usually put my old cloths and sheets that I would throw out into a bag and use them to practice .I like to mess with the settings and just refresh if I haven't sewed in awhile really is a great way to not be nervous when u do the real thing .

    Thanks for the confidence booster, honestly! I always struggle with feelings of imposter syndrome when I'm starting new skills. Even if I'm confident that I understand the mechanics of what I need to do, I still don't trust myself and my muscle memory. This seems like a pretty solid way to practice. Could maybe even go to a fabric store and see if they have scraps of fabric, or a thrift store for cheap sheets.

    This is good stuff! A bed sheet would've been great! Something I'll be picking up to practice on. Awesome idea! I used a few old t shirts I don't care about then I went for a work shirt. The work shirt came out great! Took the sleeves up and put 2 darts in it. Today I'm going to try a hoodie which needs it's huge arms and bat wings taken in. Maybe I'll sew a patch or 2 on it. It took me a while to get the machine set up the first couple times but now that I've done it a bunch of times I can set it up without even thinking about it lol so pumped to start looking better in clothes I already have and to start making custom hoodies and whatever else I can come up with. Best purchase this year no doubt 🤙🏻
    Have a good weekend!

      Should throw in some semi random free style life blog videos once in awhile was cool seeing some of ur tips on working out don't think it would hurt your channel . I seen some other focused subject channels do that and it's cool to see another side of them

    I'd like to add. If you live in a more middle class to upper class area like the surrounding Seattle area. The thrift shops have tons of like new bed sheets. Especially in Bellevue.

    I have a question about tailoring. Does tailoring mean you're stuck with your current weight? I guess if you lose weight, you can re-tailor, but if you gain weight (muscle or fat), all your clothes are not useful, right?

    • @StylishDTailors
      @StylishDTailors  3 года назад +1

      Good question, since the gyms reopened I've put on muscle so my older clothes are definitely a bit tighter now. I tailor everything with that in mind now, so I don't have to replace all my clothes later down the road! Thanks for bringing this up for everyone!

      @@StylishDTailors Awesome! Could you please specify what exactly you mean? Do you leave the extra fabric on there (i.e. you don't cut it off after sewing) or do you leave more room for your body meaning the fit is a little more baggy?

    • @StylishDTailors
      @StylishDTailors  3 года назад +1

      You can leave the extra fabric on there to let it out later if you want yes

    Just found your channel and I'm binging so many of your vids. Such awesome explanations and details and everything. Now I'm taking a break from your vids to go pick up a bed sheet from a thrift store. 🧵 ✨ You're a genius!!!
