Bruce, you've always had the best wrist and outdoor lighting shots from all different angles and zoomed out a bit for perspective. I love this watch. I got a 38mm black dial at a great deal about 3 months ago. The Classic Fusion has always been the Hublot that stuck out for me and I have no problem with the brand----(plenty of rappers and sports people diamond out their AP's and PP's yet people still flock to them as if those brands can't do any wrong)---I intended to try a Classic Fusion someday but when the chance came up I said what the heck and was totally blown away by the light play and comfort of it. It's light and stays perfectly centered on my wrist at all times but can still move around. For being such a clean, crisp and reserved dial the whole watch just pops in all sorts of lighting conditions. The detailing is great too. Crisp, sharp edges on some of the polishing, curved, flowing case sides, unique material and the contrast between the brushed bezel and clasp with the polished screws just has so much visual interest. Even on the clasp there are polished edges on the brushed pieces with brushings of different directions and grit on it. I used to be into the movements but after 10 yrs of collecting really all the movements do the same thing and sort of look the same after a while so I actually prefer ETA or Sellita movements now. The last negative for me is the water resistance is only 50m. Yes I know that is fine for swimming so I would probably not have a problem with it but it seems this would be a great all around sports watch if it hit that psychological sport watch 100m mark for that extra piece of mind. Used prices are also realistic. Sorry to ramble, those were my thoughts on the watch and it's funny that it needs to be defended just because of the brand name even though it stands on its own merits to me. I hope this makes it to Random Rob as well so we get to see this awesome watch again. Thanks for reading this comment (if you do) and again, you're one of my favorite channels as just a lover of all types of watches and you help us experience them with the great work you do on the channel.
How much did you get that 38 mm one for? I’d love to get one as I have a smaller wrist, but prices are hovering around 4,500 -5,000 right now even for the smaller sized ones like the 38.
I think this watch is drop-dead gorgeous. There's unfortunately way too much snobbery in this hobby (as evidenced by numerous comments in this and and the unboxing videos) to allow people to evaluate this properly. Put a JLC or AP logo on this watch and people would be fawning over it. Oh well, their loss. Thanks for bringing us something really different, Bruce.
Fantastic review Bruce. I had no idea Hublot made such a conservatively designed watch. Your video work really breings out the beauty of the dial, hands and indices. Thank you for another fantastic video :)
It’s handsome. They don’t really make watches for enthusiasts so in house is largely inconsequential. Probably 95 percent of buyers prefer the ease of ownership of the selita which of course is absolutely fine ..
Watching this for the second time - five months later. Have a totally different perspective now because my wife is interested in a Hublot and of course there’s no video of the watch she’s eyeing. Sweet review. The hate comes from the fact that it is derivative, by design, as told by JC Biver himself, of the Nautilus but takes certain shortcuts on refinement and often has flashy looks. It’s not as intangible as the original but hey, it made Biver rich so good for him and if someone loves it then at least it won’t cost a fortune to indulge.
@Tom The Fish In house should be the way to go at this price point. If someone can afford this Hublot, then they can afford more expensive servicing and couldn't care less about have a sellita just because it's cheaper to maintain.

Hi Bruce, I love your videos and channel. But in this instance, I really can’t agree with the praise you give this Hublot Classic Fusion. Whilst it’s a good looking piece, it’s a Brand entry level three handed, date only complication 50M water resistant (splash proof at best) watch that houses a basic undecorated off the shelf Sellita movement that costs $7700... The price just cannot be justified? Any lesser brand watch using the same caliber movement and specs would be circa $500 realistically. For me? No thanks! It’s just way too expensive. And at 45mm, it’s too big also IMHO although they are available in 42 and 38mm which is a positive. I think this watch misses the mark completely in value for money terms but thanks for sharing it with us nevertheless.
At that price level I see where you are coming from. Sellita makes a good quality and reliable movement and are a great alternative to the ETA movements many brands cannot now reasonably access. I have the Sellita SW500 in my Sinn 356 and it runs like a champ, running within basic COSC specs but that's a €1200 watch. The Hublot coming in at six times the price is not right for having a Sellita no matter how reliable, accurate and easy to work on they might be.
They aren't supposed to be aligned mate. It's done on purpose 🙂 Hublot try to recreate the "porthole" style and they use real screws unlike other brands like AP royal Oak who use sunken bolts. So the whole misaligned screws aren't really misaligned at all . It's on purpose. A lot of people for some reason think they're supposed to be aligned .. I'm not sure why. Probably because AP has them following the bezel ?
The Sellita movements are far from horrible. What is horrible is the price of this Hublot with one inside. I recall Sellita had problems with some of their SW200 movements a few years ago but they are making a decent and good quality range of movements the last few years now. I have the SW500 in my Sinn 356 and it's been very reliable and accurate. The difference is the Sinn is a €1200 watch and the Hublot is about 6 times the price which is ridiculous but as I said, Sellita movements are not horrible at all.

Everyone has their own opinions, no worries Steve!
Get the G-Shock G-Steel as the cheaper alternative.
Been there done that
I heard Sellita and spat coffee all over my screen
At that price level I see where you are coming from. Sellita makes a good quality and reliable movement and are a great alternative to the ETA movements many brands cannot now reasonably access. I have the Sellita SW500 in my Sinn 356 and it runs like a champ, running within basic COSC specs but that's a €1200 watch. The Hublot coming in at six times the price is not right for having a Sellita no matter how reliable, accurate and easy to work on they might be.
Sexy Ass Watch. Simple and Cool... Hublot Classic Fusion!
Jean claude biver saved Hublot for sure
Who on earth would buy this over a Zenith Defy?
For $8K the screws should all be lined up concentric to the dial.
Not a bad choice but so many better ones for that price point. Zenith el Primero for example..
Totally different watch, why only one?
You can either buy this watch with a horrible movement or you can buy zenith defy 21 used for around 6000$
Stigstigster i see and yea i agree this watch is way over priced
a nice watch but only a cheap ETA installed and no lume.
Only now ppl are diggin hublot, ?l've always loved them
Lotta money for a sellita tho,
