The bed cover is a Gator ETX Soft Roll Up Truck Bed Tonneau Cover. I bought mine on Amazon, but you will have find the one to fit you year and model truck and bed length.
Dimensions will vary for your build!

All lumber is 3/4 plywood unless listed differently
3) 10" x 75 1/2" (module sides)
2) 2 1/2" x 74 (drawer runner bottoms)
2) 6" x 75 1/2" (drawer sides)
2) 6" x 18 1/8" (drawer ends)
1) 4" x 96" (drawer dividers cut to various lengths to fit your design)
1) 18 1/8" x 74" (drawer bottom)
5) 2 1/2" x 15" (drawer runner ties)
1) 34" x 75 1/2" (left module top)
1) 10" x 75 1/2" (right module top)
4) 3" x 24" with 45 degree cut one end (module bottom supports around wheel well)
2) 2 1/2" x 74" (drawer anti tilt strips and top support strip)
1) 2 1/2" x 74" (left module top support strip
2) 2" x 74" (module side runners to support slide out)
1) 27" x 75 1/2" (slide out floor)
1) 27 1/4" x 10" (tie together for modules)

This is great. There are so many truck bed drawers on RUclips. This is simple and exactly what I had in mind for my own. No need to spend a ton of money on fancy slides, or over think using casters. just sliding wood. Done.

Thanks so much! I really saves me so much in climbing in and out of the bed. I can reach everything from the back or side with the cover. I've since added cap to the back so being I can't access the side anymore I use a hook to pull the boxes and items I put on top of the drawer assembly that are up towards the front back to me or I can use the sliding floor if those items are stored lower on top of it. what a beauty. Great job mate! I just found 2 large tote from homedepot that fits perfectly just barely touching the tailgate so they dont move back and forth. Might end up going your route in future for something permanent.

You did an excellent job on this! Very creative and thoughtful. I've been on the fence between building my own stacked drawers or buying some steel drawer systems but I think you inspired me to build my own so I can build in some hidden compartments for my electronics.

You might want to use UHMW to slide the drawer on, it’s a very tough plastic that is used on the bottom of skid plates so that your vehicle slides over rocks and not allowing the rocks gouging into your skids.
Thanks so much for the suggestion. That's a good one. Although the drawer I know would surely slide a little easier having used the wax instead of the UHMW saved me one time. Seems I drove off once with the tailgate down and didn't discover it until arriving at my destination. Fortunately the drawer stayed closed because although the wax allows it to slide easier it's not as slick as other materials like you mentioned. I hate to think of what might have happened if the drawer had slide out during the drive. The UHMW is still something to definitely consider as the wax sometimes gets sticky depending on the weather and I'm sure it would make things easier, but for those times of absent mindedness I have I would definitely need to add a latch to hold the drawer shut. This was pure genius from start to finish! I really appreciate your attention to detail - from the planning, to the scribing, to the rounding off the edges, to the waxing, to the foresight of making it easy to remove. Genius. Are you an engineer by trade??? The thought process alone was impressive! And the firewood (and other messy stuff) on the Jet Sled! Brilliant! I can't put a tonneau cover on my truck as my kayak rack is connected to the T-track, so using all wood drawers might be a no-go, but using that lip on the top to pull out the crates gives me some ideas. Thanks for taking the time to share your brilliance with us!

As to your question I'm not an engineer, but thank God for the ability he has given me to think that way. He has granted me the ability to be a tradesman for many years and so I guess design comes naturally for me because of the way he has guided my life. One thing you might have missed is that my cover made by Gator fits inside my truck bed not on top, so I'm not sure how your kayak rack sets, but with the cover I have it allowed me to keep my ladder rack in place and still have the bed covered. I've since switched the cover out for a mid high cap so I can camp and sleep in it if I choose. Maybe the cover type I used might work in your situation. Very well thought out. Great video explaining everything you did and why ( I needed that ). I did wonder how the drawer would work without metal slide runners. Great idea with the paste wax. Old technique, but works great. 👍
So glad you found the video a help! As far as the drawer goes it has been working flawlessly since I installed it. I did pull the drawer this spring and add some more paste wax to the whole bottom edges of the drawer and about half the length of the runners. It slides in and out nicely with a quick pull which I like as I don't have to worry about it opening up while driving if I forget to close the tailgate which I have done a couple of times. Even loaded with items it opens and closes without much effort. Thanks so much for watching and may God bless you!

Super great design , appreciate taking the time to show your design for those who would like to utilize it. I came on youtube to search through good design ideas. And found yours great due to the simplicity and removal usage, And you can sleep on top of it with a little air mattress and sleeping bag. And also a Tarp over that rack with just some bungees, twine or just weighted water bottles for a quick weather escape it would be super usage .. But also thank you for sharing your testimony of Christ and the message that all can be reminded or help others find their lost way in this beautifully planned that God has for us all. What a fantastic set up and great video. One thing I would have done is put a tiny drawer in the two side compartments to save rummaging around looking for stuff.

Very well done. I like the sliding floor that will accommodate larger items like propane tanks or gas cans, and yet makes a flat surface for sheet goods or even for use as a sleeping platform.

I have to second that! By far the best set up I have seen. As an avid ice fisher man this setup is exactly what I need and having a hard cap on my truck will allow me to have it double as a bed for some truck camping at remote lakes. Great work and thanks for the video

I was toying with a design like this in my head and thinking I was a genius because no one had ever thought of it. Obviously, I am not a genius as someone did think of it before me. However, it is genius that I can just copy you and not have to think of all the design features myself. Thanks.

Well done sir. I been looking at all sorts of truck bed drawers, organizer ideas today and Ive got a few hours invested. I really like your design the best. This would work for several different applications thru several trades. I had to smile as soon as you mentioned the Johnsons Paste Wax. I been using that on drawers, table saw tops, well, just about everywhere. I like the idea of hiding your fasteners. Great job and thanks for sharing .

The Jet Sled is genius. I've got a fully decked platform across the bed and was trying to sort out what to do for drawers. Two Jet Sleds fit perfectly between my wheel wells.

There really is no reason to use 500lb draw glides. I like your design. I like to live and build simple

So well thought out! Everything works perfectly
Thanks so much! It really works quite well for me. Just the other day I needed tom load 5 gallon cans of paint into the truck and so I moved the sled and it's contents onto the drawer top to the left (it fits perfectly there too) and loaded the paint. When I went to get it out of the truck I just pulled on the slide and brought them to the tailgate for easier lifting and no crawling in the truck or undoing the cover. Very good design. I will probably do something similar. Being modular and easily removable is important to me. This would be much easier to store than one big unit.

Thanks Jim! I use this setup for so many things all the time. It makes my life so much easier as I don't have to climb into the truck for really anything. The jet sled alone works really well to put critters or a fish creel in to help contain any mess. When I was very sick with my cancer Psalms 139:17-18 became my favorite verses. Just the fact of knowing that God's thoughts about me outnumber all the grains of sand in the word really helped to show me how deeply he loved me even though I felt helpless and had nothing to offer him. I just went out to my truck to scope it out but totally forgot it has an integrated trunk 🤪I have to see if I can come up with something which lets me still access the trunk. If nothing else, I’m going to make a set of the ramps and getting one of those sleds.

What are the dimensions of your Ford’s truck bed? I appreciate your providing your cut list, but I’d like to do the math to convert the cuts to fit my 5’ Tacoma bed. It’s an amazing build, and the way you broke it down into sections makes it seem like something I could build-and lift by myself. Please provide your truck’s dimensions, so I can get started without my usual trial and error, error, error …

Thanks I tried. Some ideas are from others designs and much of it is from my own thoughts. After building it I wouldn't want to be without it. It comes in so handy for so many things from just hauling groceries, to hauling plywood and game animals and finding and having access to items in just a few seconds and I almost never have to climb into the bed of the truck! Thanks so much on complimenting the video! Really though the best part is the end. In reality all of us are hostile towards God, but the truth is he really does love us. So much so that he saw us in our sin moving away from him and sacrificed his son Jesus to buy us back by paying the fine for our sin. Where we spend eternity is determined by whether or not we accept that free gift of God's love by repenting and turning from out sin and then turning towards God, and putting our faith and trust in Jesus and that he did on the cross. It is out of love that God died for you and for me and it is out of love I share that message with everyone I can because it really is the most important thing. My desire is to share that message because I want others to know the truth about his love and his plan for saving us from hell. Whatever people do with it is between them and God. God bless you!

Sorry I wasn't clear as to what you were referring to. You would be surprised at how much I use the sled though. I put groceries and other things in it like fish and it keeps everything together and I just slide it forward to take the items out. Thanks again and may God bless you richly!
