i was so worried at first before I got the game. What makes a good Warriors game is that variety in characters. Not only do you need a lot of characters, but they all need to feel unique, and Age of Calamity absolutely knocks that out of the park. Not only are there a ton of characters, they all play very differently, and whats more impressive is that damn near all of them are really fun to play.

hey King J. Grim I have an idea for your next In the Mind of: videos. I have two characters that you might find interesting. First is Ada Wong from Resident Evil, I was wondering what Ada is really thinking about Leon. Is she serious about her love for Leon or is she just toying with Leon's feelings? Who knows? But I think I know the answer for that. Unfortunately not everyone knows what Ada is thinking about. And second the legendary super-soldier himself, Master Chief from Halo. What is in the mind of the great Master Chief himself? Is he always the stoic character we always knew? Or is there something else about the Chief that we do not know of...Anyways, those are the two characters you'll find very interesting to analyze and have in your In the Mind of: videos ;)

As much as I like this game...I just gotta say that the FPS is awful. Locked 30 that it can barely hold. Even if this wasn’t the case I prefer the original over this one since it gives me a bit of nostalgia because of all the familiar characters from my childhood.

The story was the one thing I found awful
Everything else about this game is fine but that story is avenger level of garbage

      Really?
Well, personally I found it way better than BotW's story, and thinking relative to that, I hold that it is good.
But hey, it is what it is.

I don’t want to go full details but what took me out of the story was the lack of understanding behind a few character’s motive compared to the original botw
The insanely obvious plot convenience at every turn
      The weakest new villain
Like a downgraded ghirahim or zant
The yiga clans being forgiven day 1 by Zelda made literally no sense and probably the stupidest thing Zelda could have done towards the group that tried to kill her at every turn
And I don’t think it makes any sense for the yiga to join hyrule family just cause Astor was an asshole to them
Astor was just here to help them resurrect ganon
Almost as if they never had any reasons to resurrect ganon in the first place
The interaction between the descendants and the champions were pretty uninteresting at best
I’d say botw story was far better cause it didn’t try to be that much except it stayed consistent all the way through helping the world feel a lot more believable
As a huge Zelda fanboy All I can say for AoC story is it’s just ok for a spin-off but I’ll admit my expectations were too high cause Nintendo made us believe it was a faithful prequel
The ending better than botw’s but you can’t go lower than botw’s ending

@@painuchiha2694 There are absolutely conveniences happening in this narrative, which as mentioned in the video is a negative. And the primary antagonist is pretty weak, but everything else I don't really see the problem.
The whole Yiga Clan thing came across as an "enemy of my enemy" situation. They noticed pretty quickly that going with Ganondorf/Astor would just get everyone they cared about killed, so they immediately went to the only place they could think of when going against this evil. Hell, Astor realized that at the very moment he died; Sooga and Kogha only realized the stupidity of following Ganon sooner.
I would've liked if they showed us the conversation when he prostrated himself before Zelda, but it makes sense to me. Like a weak character ark.
The character interactions felt far better than what we got in BotW. In Breath of the Wild, we saw characters talking to a mute dude who didn't react to anything, and everything was about Link or Zelda. The champions didn't get any growth at all. The only reason Mipha had most character in the Zelda game, was because the Zoras live for so long, meaning that when you visit their Kingdom, the people there can go into detail about the fish princess.
Yet in AoC, we get to see conversations between the champions, and other people; showing that they are not only there to work as footstools for the protagonists' characters.
Finally, the reason for why I think this story works, is that it acts as a sequel. The moment they showed Terrako jump back in time, and giving future information to our heroes, it changed the timeline. Same reason for why the descendants work. If AoC was out before BotW, it would suck in many ways, like who the hell is this Riju? Why focus so much on the issue between Zelda and her father? Etc.
Sorry for the long answer. But I do genuinely believe this narrative is better than BotW's story, which just felt like a third act.

Weird,I think the cutscenes in botw got a lot more weight or impact despite being short,(at least some of em)
Revali was not an asshole for the sake of it
He was upset over link being the one to finish off ganon himself while in AoC he was just an asshole before link was even important
I could go on and on but AoC doesn’t understand some of the characters
AoC contradicted itself when Sooga was well aware ganon doesn’t side with anyone and is pure destruction
      (Foreshadowing Astor dying to ganon)
If they know that already then their entire existence makes no sense cause why resurrect ganon in the first place if they already did know he’s bad
And I believe the yiga wanted to resurrect ganon for vengeance over the betrayal of the royal family
They have a lot of hatred towards the royal family only for it to suddenly disappear cause hastor bad
And I stand behind how most characters in AoC weren’t really interesting and was there more for the plot convenience than actually being interesting characters
And my guess to why the story felt rushed and full of characters for plot convenience is because it’s a warriors game and they need an excuse to bring more playable characters that shouldn’t honestly be part of the story imo
Anyway I’m also sorry this is getting too long but a lot of botw fans share my disappointment in the story so surely somewhere it’s far from perfect
The only thing I give AoC over botw is the pacing of the story
You’re always in the heat of the story while in botw you waste too much time between each bit of story which is probably why some prefer it over botw imo

It really felt like avenger endgame
If you enjoy an intense action packed story sure you’ll like it and I cannot blame you
But the reason I didn’t like avenger endgame is because most the characters are there to bring a solution and their stories end up half baked for most characters
The botw memories told a lot about each character, their relationship to link and their struggles
A lot more interesting and personal than their simple comedic relief and plot convenience roles in AoC
