For real? GT5 is the B tier? While GT3 is the A tier? GT3 wasnt as good it had much less cars, it had worse psychics, it was broken, cause you could enter any race with that formula car, which allowed you do complete the entire game with ease, cause you were in F1 like car against sportscars...

@@RayanM50B25 first things first, before that event, most 6* exclusive car events are actually f2p friendly for most players. Bugatti Chiron for example. You can get the car guaranteed if you play the event (30 day event btw).
The Jesko event on the other hand, you need to get all of the *REQUIRED* cars featured on the same event and it's not even guaranteed!

There's a Corvette game from early 2000s. Pretty decent, somewhat in the realms of Ford Racing. Almost every single Corvette is in there, good amount of tracks, but the handling is really casual. Cute one, check it out.
I personally think TDU2 should've been masterpiece because the game was basically Forza Horizon before Forza Horizon was a thing. Purchasable and customizable houses with exquisite showcase garage spaces, clinics, clothing stores, purchase yachts, very good progression, silly and basic but enjoyable story, casino, driving schools, mod shop, enterable dealerships, great car list, everything!
Fully agree, and Forza Horizon 6 needs exactly that kind of innovation! If all that could be achieved in 2011, why not today?
Personally, I always felt the TDU games were a case of "quantity over quality".
Like, yes, it was cool that you could drive on a 1-1 recreation of a real place. But I feel that kinda hurts the gameplay.
One of the reasons why UG2's Bayview or MW's Rockport or Burnout Paradise's Paradise City were so fun to drive in was because they didn't have to be realistic or conform to an actual place. The devs could design its roads and layouts to offer the most vaerity in racing. These weren't cities you happened to race in. These were cities designed for you to race in. And not just race. Stuff like drifting, detailed police pursuits, speedbreakers, shortcuts, stunt challenges, off-road, collectibles and other additions to the gameplay could be much better encouraged and properly designed and integrated.
But in TDU, many roads are straight and simple not because they were designed for racing but because they were designed for real people to do their daily drives, or to connect important areas in the most efficient way possible. So they aren't as fun to race or drift or pursuit or stunt in compared to other games.
As a non racing game example, consider the following games: GTA4, Spider-Man PS4 and The Division 1. All 3 of these games are open world game set in some version of New York City. However, they don't use an entirely accurate or 1-1 version of New York. They all make their own specific version of a New York map that best suits their gameplay.
Like, in the Division 1, it is primarily a 3rd person cover shooter and you can only navigate on foot. So its version of New York is significantly smaller so it can be navigated by foot and is extremely cluttered on the streets and ground floor buildings to offer places of cover and house enemies to shoot at. The Division's version of New York wouldn't work for GTA4 since you could drive everywhere and be constantly interrupted by the roadblocks everywhere. And it wouldn't really work for Spider-Man since it downplays the skyscrapers Spidey would use for web swinging.
GTA4's version of New York, Liberty City, is pretty large and has really open roads, but not too many areas absolutely cluttered with skyscrapers. This works for GTA4 since you're supposed to drive from point to point and do missions. It wouldn't work for Division since it would be tedious to navigate on foot and boring since there aren't as many places to fight on the streets. And it wouldn't work for Spider-Man since there aren't as many skyscrapers for Spidey's Web Swinging.
Spider-Man's version of New York is also really large. But also has plenty of skyscrapers which allow Spidey to swing as much as he wants. But it has really simple and basic road layouts. It would be really annoying to have to drive from one area to another. You don't have to since Spidey can web swing. But this map wouldn't work for either GTA4 or Division 1's gameplay.
If any of these games were set in a real 1-1 version of New York, their gameplay would all suffer. Division would be even more tedious to play given how long it takes to navigate by foot. Spider-Man would have lots of areas that aren't as fun to web swing in. GTA 4 would have more cluttered and annoying road layouts to deal with.
That's my issue with TDU. They didn't make their own version of Hawaii that best suited a racing game. They made an accurate version of Hawaii that didn't.
@@FraserSouris Now this is an accurate statement. You are right, TDU focused greatly on scale but once you beat the game, there wasn't much left to discover, just sightseeing. And while that is good ngl, it leaves a lot to be desired. However, something that I absolutely adore about the franchise is the progression. Every purchase you make feels exclusive and well earned. Like as soon as you finish a big championship, you use those earnings to get yourself another vehicle class and it just felt good enough to make me forget the map's size shortcomings.
@@StarlightLancer01 That is true. The sense of progression was quite nice. But I still feel that its peers with smaller maps can still have a good sense of progression while still maintaining all the other improvements in gameplay. Plus, they are way more replayable. TDU suffers on that aspect as well.
@@FraserSouris Yeah, replayability wasn't a strong suit. Let's hope Solar Crown changes that, looking forward to that since NFS and Forza aren't doing too well nowadays 😐

It's kinda cool to see The Run getting more love nowadays. It was so hated when it came out and I really liked it, A-tier for me aswell.
And people hate rubber banding, but it makes the races more fun imo.
You can almost always cheat the system in some way when there's no rubber banding and make the game too easy (GT4 f.e).

If you think the handling of this game isn't bad you haven't experienced TDU 1 in hardcore mode.
For those unaware, you unlock it by completing 45% of the game, and it completely changes the physics making it a completely different experience. Shame is that neither you nor Kuru bother actually getting there cause there's a lot of grind involved tbf.
There's a mod to skip the grind.

Best thing about Blur was playing it 4-way splitscreen with my friends, it was the one game that made me buy 4 controllers for my Xbox 360. I am still upset that it’s not available anymore without pirating😢

For me and mines only racing masterpieces is: NFS Most Wanted 2005, Trackmania Sunrise, Crash Time Autobahn Pursuit (Crash time games missing), Superbike 2000, NFS Underground 1 & 2, NFS Hot Pursuit 2, Flatout 1 & 2, Crazy Taxi & Outrun 2006. Missing is Midtown Madness, Crazy Cars, Re-Volt, SBK games, MX and ATV games, WRC, Riptide, Trials, Real Racing, Sega GT, Xpand Rally, Moto GP, F-Zero: Maximum Velocity..... also a lot of fun.
NFS HP2 was made for the PS2 and shittily ported to the PC. The PS2 version is LEGENDARY.

Totally lost me on FM7. You can definitely upgrade your own cars. Yeah, they homologate, but you don't have to use the provided tune if you don't want to. On top of that, you can spend hours making your own races with the cars, tracks and rules/restrictions that you want. Something you couldn't do with FM4.

Forza 3 is a masterpiece
The disrespect on WMMT man. Playing on a online server makes it 100x more fun. Versus mode is the closest thing youll get to a car fighting game and the ghost battle mode can be extremely challenging (in a goos way)

Might be good to rethink this eventually. BeamNG is at least an S-tier now with all the updates that have come along over the past 2 years. It also seems like you have a preference for arcade style racers rather than simulation racers because I personally would definitely rank Assetto Corsa/Competizione and Dirt Rally 1.0/2.0 higher, S-tier at least. Also don't see iRacing anywhere on the chart.

Automodelista isn't exactly an indie game, it was made by Capcom. Niche, definitely. Not indie though.
Also, it definitely doesn't fit the theme of most of the games on the list, bur F-Zero GX and Redout 1 and 2 definitely would have been high up on my list.

In nfs shift i would Just get the cars that are Lowest to the ground with a really aero body kit and just literally drive under the other cars and flip them off the track xD I don't know if you can still do that i did it close to release

I accept that you put Rivals in B Tier. Just because that game is underrated and one of the best. Due to the bugs occurring on other platforms, the game was so fun that you can literally race against racers in any region you are in. The graphics we're amazing, thanks to the power of Frostbite, what actually killed the game for me is it's 30 FPS lock because of the AllDrive feature. The cops in Rivals followed MW 2005 and HP 2010's footsteps combined all together to form the deadliest cops possible. And they will annihilate you using their weapons of war until you die, which I really like about Rivals, intensity and brutalness. You can't define NFS with intense cops involved in the chase. It has a great car list which people really liked. The Veneno, the P1, the Venom GT, man they we're really good. It has a Risk vs. Reward factor in which if you complete your speedlists, you will be given a reward, which is to unlock every single car until you beat the game.
If EA wants to remaster Rivals, they need to lock 60FPS on the game while AllDrive is still on the game. Overwatch should be returning as well due to the fact that you can't unlock the underrated cars.
Soundtrack was absolutely fucking killer. I appreciate Ghost for putting the soundtracks into modern music where EDM was popular the same year when Rivals released. But there's 1 song that was literally cut or removed in the final version, and that's Burn It Down by Linkin Park, which made me disappointed. According to some websites, Burn It Down was supposed to be part of the game's soundtrack but later on it got removed in the list.
Overall, Rivals is a great game for what it is, people are literally sleeping on it and they don't give a fuck about this underrated gem.

My all time favorite racing game as a kid was Hot wheels Beat that, it's actually a really solid game and I still prefer it over unleashed.

huh, shift 2 is my all time favorite racing game. only game ive played that made driving a car actually feel like driving a car. that and the sound design was impeccable. sad to hear it was universally disliked
You should replay NFS Porsche. Idk if there is anything way to have analog input, however it can still be enjoyable on digital input.
One recommendation, never upgrade suspension, always drive on standard/street if you can. Racing suspension is too stiff and understeers like crazy.
My fav racing game is forza horizon 4. Got forza horizon 5 today. Can’t wait to try it

I played the heck out of asphalt 8 in high school. This was in 2015. The game was pay 2 win even back then but at one point i had a glitch happen where i could infinitely claim a coin reward so i racked up millions and bought the best cars in the game and then the game was fun 😂
I can sense some people highly disagreeing with your Ug2 opinion.But Unpopular opinion Carbon belongs to masterpiece.Just because its short doesnt mean its automatically a bad game.Its the best Nfs after MW,miles better than the Underground games and a lot better racer than video game racers today.Realistically Ug2 should also be in the masterpiece category but imo Ug1 is better despite the lack of freeroam.In Ug1 you've got a better car roster (im missing the integra and S2000 in Ug2),better story and characters(Eddie,Melissa,Tj,Samantha and The Eastsiders) and better soundtrack (its little debatable here but brr rom dom dom).
EDIT:You should definetely try Re-Volt.Especially with Mods and 30 cars mod its the best arcade RC racer (because there is no other Rc racer like Re-Volt bruh).That game belongs to masterpiece category.

If they do make asphalt 10 I hope they make it so that you buy the game, i hate microtransactions, also, the main reason why Asphalt 9 is fun for me is because it's genuinely fun in multiplayer, you can often find a match in less than a minute which is better than many other games for me

Came here for PGR4 but you never played it sadly. It was a really fun game, it was nice that it used actual cities and made tracks out of it rather than just using racetracks, the graphics were awesome for the time as well. It was very satisfying to get the higher tier cars like the CLK GTR or Caparo T1 which could be driven at ridiculous speed very easily. Sadly PGR as a whole never got the traction it deserved because it was simcade but never picked a side, so it didn't appeal to the simulation crowd, nor was it over the top arcade (not to mention 0 customisation other than colour) so didn't really capture that either. There were some interesting vehicles though and the graphics/sounds were awesome. Soundtrack was hot garbage other than one song though
I had a go at the tierlist and instantly like 100 games went in the Never Played category. Oh.
I thought the video was too long as soon as I got in, but then I couldn't get out before it was over. This is called quality. Congratulations. As for the content itself, like the categorized masterpieces we found, the video isn't perfect either. I consider that the fight between GT5 and GT6 is highly debatable, I think the Import Tuner Challenge should be included here, as well as the remaining Colin McRae 3 and 5. Even so, the biggest absence is not Midtwon Madness 3, but Forza Motorsport 2 , the rival to GT that cemented and guided the franchise into the high-end franchise it is today. Keep up the good work.

Hey man came to your channel just to say this haha. I really think should you watch some wmmt battle videos! Especially 2v2 battles/tournaments. Playing the game emulated is not the proper experience. I love the game as the multiplayer vs is unlike anything else, if there was any racing game that played like a fighting game it’s wmmt. There’s a really high skill ceiling and it’s refreshing to play a racing game that has a completely different meta at the higher end. I’d encourage you to watch some battle videos by channels like Akuma Wmmt, or DSM AU

I would’ve put TDU1 in masterpiece. It’s one of my favorites and this is coming from someone who never played it till recently and has only played it on ps2.
