Most of these demos came out months before their respective release! Super interesting to see all the differences :D
What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!
I remember somewhere I have an Underground 1 PC demo from an old computer magazine.
Also, I believe the NFS Underground 2 demo pressent in Burnout 3 Takedown has some differences to the one shown here.
Man i loved demos back in the day
Every other PS2 demo: not too different from the actual game
Carbon PS2 demo: *look at this guys I found the 2nd original Mystery City while freeroaming using a hack*
I did’t under stand
NFS Underground 2 demo is a bit different, just look at the unfinished map and highway, really interesting imo and there are many more small changes :)
@@ronnie3626 highway?
oh yes
@@MadnessCrewTom there is a highway where a road should be blocked off i dont remember the exact map ,location
EA should have let Black Box make the other versions of HP2 as well.
Agreed, the EA Canada Port wasn't bad but it was far inferior to the BlackBox PS2 Port
@@billymercury3897 Yeah, both version were pretty much the same, but the worst downgrades were in the lightning and physics
@@itslvc5588 To me the Physics feel similar to those in High Stakes and Porsche Unleashed, kinda explains it as it was the engine EA Canada probably used
@@billymercury3897 Yep, all the NFS games that EA Canada developed use the same physics engine
One of UG1's soundtrack (Overseer - Supermoves) is also used in GT3 and The Animatrix!
Also in Snatch (2000) and a trailer for Killer Bean 2.
Toca world touring and jarred and labont stock car racing too
Tao Of The Machine was in Blade 2, Nine Thou was in Matrix Reloaded, Black Betty was in The Duke Boys and in Hitman Bodyguards
Many examples of using the same songs.
An remixed version of Born too slow (ONE OF THE UG1'S soundtrack) was used in GT4!
I like it how NFS UG2 demo had actual visual damage system, like your trunk could be bent and it would flap when you're going very fast. Kinda similar to what we had in Undercover or NFS 2015.
Yeah it was better then no damage model at all in those old 2000 nfs games
there is actually an interesting thing about the prostreet porsche demo. the 911 gt3 in the demo wouldnt actually make it to the full game until it was released later as dlc. but the model released in the dlc was horrendously broken in numerous ways - missing front brakes, messed up body kit textures and vinyls, broken/missing LODs, etc. the model in the demo, however, was completely fine!
Your mad underrated man, I’m glad people still play arcade racers
I never see the hot pursuit 2 demo before
Other demos: [have cool differences]
ProStreet: *b o r s c h e*
MW with a snowy region alongside Rockport would be amazing
Most of pursuit breakers in the tutorial city from Carbon were cut, but not all. There is still one construction thing that you can knock over in the final game.
"hot pursuit 2 was a bit before my time"
Fuck me running, I'm old. I was so excited when NFS3: Hot Pursuit came out and it blew my mind that I could be the one doing the pursuing... and that was like 4 years before HP2.
13:52 Not to mention a way different map, The road in which the race takes place on is integrated into the map, and I think the map itself was meant to be way bigger, interesting to think about what Carbon would have been like had this version of the map remained intact...
this is so cool to see the games in beta
There's also a demo for Underground 2 inside Burnout 3, it's in the Extras section
Love your video bro keep up the good work my dude love so much and your amazing love you dude
Most Wanted 's beta and alpha content is the most interesting imo
And carbon too
15:18
What happened to this map in the final game?
@@BlindZyrius they been cut because they don't have enough time to make that map enviroment so they make canyon to not connected to the main map
Most Wanted and Carbon were the most interesting, imagine if we got the entire map that was planned
Black edition DVD required (I have it)
The demos were so interesting back then
UG1 demo is really fun to play with a McLaren F1 LM from HP2 lol (all the cars from HP2 are in the game, only the models are missing)
And the MW Demo drag race is the E3 Demo event itself.
I like the MW demo because in a way it’s almost like a prequel to the main game
I find funny how Carbon's development story is more misterious than the in-game story
PS2 demo of most wanted honestly looks like a psp game I love it
good channel 10/10 would watch again
Thank you for making THIIIIIISSSSSSSSS video
I remember there was one demo of ProStreet where you drove in Ray's M3, first in Nevada and then a grip race in Autobhanring, also the AI cars were different, you had Aki's RX-7 in a speed race, was it a pre release demo ?
5:23 Wish this song made the cut, definitely not replacing Riders on the Storm but would make an excellent addition to the Soundtrack of Underground 2
7:51 this bmw is actually used in one of pc disk installation photos (pictures that you see them while installing the game)
Also rx8 in 7:48 is used in prologue while you are racing with rog
The Underground 2 demo is also available on Burnout 3, probably with a timer too.
Fera!!!! Sucesso 🤜🤛 Tmj!
I remember in the final version of Underground 2 that the second nitrous bar was a thing, and it makes you go faster than the first bar
faster yes but not sure about increasing grip
instant sub for p5 music
Oh, this reminded me that i actually played the Carbon PS2 demo. . .
dude. I must’ve played the nfs carbon of demo for over 100 hours. autosculpt was blowing my mind.
NFSC map was totally different with grand canyon being part of San Juan
Yeah, on the Carbon demo, the line, "I heard you were back in town, now I want to hear your gone." in the full game is said by Angie, the boss of the muscle car crew. I wonder why they changed that.
If I remember right, there was an undercover demo too
damn NFS U1 Demo had better sounds than original
I remember playing the U2 demo from Burnout, trying to see how would I could get before it kicked me out
Someone make a visual treatment mod for nfsmw05 on the PC that has the same look of PS2 demo. I love that filter.
17:13 dude 911 gt3 is also a race you forgot chose or switch to it ,WHICH IS HWY SMTH
"Before my time.." Bro, am I really that old?
Can anyone tell me where i could download nfs (carbon, most wanted etc) on a pc?
Wait, Does pro street have ps2 demo? Example: the game version of it the cars don't break and it doesn't have some cars ;---;
Why is this stretched out 16:9? These wre 4:3 aspect
There is others demo for Prostreet
I play demo of carbon and it feel like different game though
5:35 Is it just me or does that look very different from the final version? Looks very different from the PC demos! Some things i wish stayed like in the demos. Also pro street had more than just 1 demo :D There was also one where you could do a circuit race with a GTR and a speed challange with the Grip king M3. Apart from that i don't remember. The time frame of those NFS games was just the best! After black box was gone it was just a joke apart from shift 1&2 the ones made by the burnout guys just didn't feel like NFS and Ghost just put shame on the NFS brand with their garbage handling for and cops just to name 2 things.
the beta intro to Underground 1 was actually better than the final version tbh.
Overseer's Supermoves fits better in that intro than BT's Kimosabe. Not sure why Black Box had to change it.
fun fact: the UG1 intro is actually taken from the E3 2003 cinematic trailer.
I actually prefer the original E3 trailer version with Fabolous' Holla Back. Maybe cause it's the only version I watched in its entirety as a kid, as it was included as bonus content in the collectors edition of HP2 on PC. I always skipped the intro playing UG1 so for a long time I had no idea the final game's intro used Kimosabe instead.
I think that High Stakes did the damage model way better then Pro Street.
i still haven't beaten kaze since 2007
The most wanted pc demo was completly different atleast as far as i can remember
14:34
Player 1
NEVILLE 2
NANCE 3
ATOM1C 4
Kenji car was just place holder
Marco reus back at it again with nfs
Holy fuck I don’t remember the og hot pursuit 2 looking that bad
MW demo looks like it's running on the same game engine as Underground/U2. The physics look the same not just the camera movements. Looks like the demo plays completely different to the final release.
All Black Box Need For Speeds till ProStreet use the same EAGL engine.
How comes *nobody* knows the brighter, pulsing second layer of nitrous in _Underground 2_ *IS THE FUCKING RACEBREAKER?* It's more powerful and even the sound effect for it is more savage. It's like using the double dose boost in _Nitro_ and Wii's _Hot Pursuit._
15:18 oh shit it's the Mystery City!?!?!?!
I miss game demos. Especially the ones that were, you know, not paid (because that’s becoming a thing now)
Plssssss don‘t stretch 4:3 to 16:9 but display them in their original spect ratio. Distorted picture looks a lot worst than black bars at the sides
Playing via PCSX2? Doesn't seem to be running at full speed.
Yep, emulator

The only demo I played back in the day was the Carbon one. It looked really cool. Recently I managed to play the Underground 2 demo for PC, but it's kinda lame.
too bad it wasnt a custom demo that lets you customize because there's some demos that has unlocked features that is normally blocked, like the underground demo where you can customize your own car (everything is unlocked), the underground 2 demo has the time limiter removed (yes because after 5 or 10 minutes the game completely stops your gameplay) plus you can customize the other cars (kinda, it only works on the performance parts tho), the most wanted demo if i remember it correctly you can travel the map, see the blacklist, customize the cars, etc, also there are prototypes which has a debug mode and carbon is basically the same thing (almost because my memories were wrong, sorry if i hyped y'all up :/ ) if i remember it correctly, prostreet has surprisingly a ps2 prototype named alpha 61(which is basically the same version as the retail version)
links of the demos if anyone wants to experience these demos/ prototypes (of course its a archive dot org site because its a archiving website, some arent available in archive dot org so i'll post other links that i know is good, also hiddenpalace is the same thing as archive dot org, its just that the builds are more organized, also its where the project deluge page is hosted)
also playable on a real ps2 with free dvd boot (only on some ps2's that has the dvd drive version 3.10 and 3.11 and also put your ps2 language to english, because it doesnt work on the other languages, dont know why but its the only way of playing that way) and also with freemcboot with opl is what i know about
Underground 1 (the demo that eden showed in the video with customizable cars, some cars crashes the game but you have to find out, just reset the game if that happens): drive.google.com/file/d/1pZcCjJ0h50RWg4DsKSm0URMJ7wSQxDIN/view?usp=sharing
Underground 2 (main menu, customizable cars, no timer, which is a good thing, freeroam too but i dont know how to do that with a custom car other than the evo): drive.google.com/file/d/1BQVNuqAEr_nZM0nLpMo9lH5rrsiTpVjL/view?usp=sharing
Most Wanted (for the debug mode in the sep 20 build press r3/l3):

What does Lidle mean? 0:16
LIDL is a chain of supermarkets in Europe. It basically means low quality / cheap.
LIDLGACHI
Dude, please change your deinterlacing type between games. That'll stop it from looking so bad at times. F5 cycles through the different options on the fly.
So in Germany everything is illegal while on the Balkan everything is free to download through torrents
The PS2 Graphics and filter is soooooooo much better than the PC and Final PS2 release
Not in the case of underground 2
Bwoah
Hp2? Hard? I drive like a dunce and the ai can't keep up at all without rubber band/catch-up turned on. Even cops can't keep up usually no matter the car class. Makes me wonder how I struggled as a kid
Nfs Mw looks better than normal like best I always hated the yelllow type thinge
nfs carbon ps2 demo map is the same map as the final game but it's slightly different as i can know
Hold up... Did you copy my video?
