Super fucking ballsy to present this song as a single. Like, mind-blowingly so. 30 years ahead of the #metoo movement, but because it's about male on male it doesn't get treated the same way.
I was at Lollapalooza 1993 with Primus and Alice in Chains (Nashville, TN), and Tool was on 2nd stage. What an amazing experience!! 😊
And the music and tempo switch between excitement and misery… then when it breaks down at the end it’s gruesome. Dark, dark LP.
Just listened again with that in mind. Definitely dark!
This was their second single after Sober. The video got play on MTV after midnight, then I think they stopped playing it. I can't remember.

Some of their old stuff was really good like this…. Maybe Wings for Marie part one and two ( second one is the album title 10000 days) if you do go back and look at the comments from your Eulogy reaction, myself and someone else give some background on these… They are basically a love song written to Maynard’s mother and it’s a beautiful masterpiece!!!!

That was parabol, parabola lol… but it does flow from one to the next… part 1 is more like a 5 minute intro and part 2 ends the same way… but the transition here is just a crack of thunder
