[ English ] Master Chamorro continues to give us wonder after wonder from his endless archive of treasures, with Swiss punctuality: one or two every week. It doesn't fail. And may it be for many years.
As the brothers Lola (20) and Gerard Peñaranda (18) have progressed in very few years! They have become great instrumentalists of a very high level. And the metal school that Sant Andreu has is never finished. When great figures leave, Chamorro always manages to have others take over from him. There are Elsa, Martha, Gerard, Koldo, Lola, Sander, Claudia, Perot, Luc... and those who will come later to replace them. Bravo.
Also highlight the guest guitarist, Guillermo Guerrero, a kid from Imagine Jazz (which is a kind of "franchise" of the SAJB in Galicia), he has a lot of talent and very good hands, I don't know his age, but he stands up perfectly to the comparison with the great Carla Motis. And those are big words.

¡Como han progresado los hermanos Lola (20) y Gerard Peñaranda (18) en muy pocos años! Se han convertido en grandes instrumentistas de muy alto nivel. Y es que la escuela de Metales que tiene la Sant Andreu no se termina nunca. Cuando las grandes figuras se van, Chamorro se las apaña siempre para que otros tomen su relevo. Ahí están Elsa, Martha, Gerard, Koldo, Lola, Sander, Claudia, Perot, Luc ... y los que vendrán después para sustituirles a ellos. Bravo.
Destacar también al guitarrista invitado, Guillermo Guerrero, un chaval de la Imagine Jazz (que es una especie de "franquicia" de la SAJB en Galicia), tiene mucho talento y muy buenas manos, no sé su edad, pero aguanta perfectamente la comparación con la gran Carla Motis. Y eso son palabras mayores.

The tune, the tempo, the complexity, the sophistication! I just can’t comprehend how these youngsters understand and perform it so well! It can only be Senór Chamorro’s leadership. I never expected to see this in my lifetime!

They're just kids! How can they comprise such a tight (and tasteful) jazz band? Loved the soloists, and as a guitarist, especially, the solo on that beautiful red Gibson ES-335. Yes, not for the first time, I'm thinking "Joan Chamorro is something of a genius" -- and Spain's greatest gift to jazz. You agree?
