  • 5 For every high priest taken from among men is appointed on behalf of people in things pertaining to God, in order to offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins; 2 he can deal gently with the ignorant and misguided, since he himself also is [b]clothed in weakness; 3 and because of it he is obligated to offer sacrifices for sins for himself, as well as for the people. 4 And no one takes the honor for himself, but receives it when he is called by God, just as Aaron also was.
    5 So too Christ did not glorify Himself in becoming a high priest, but it was He who said to Him,
    “You are My Son,
    Today I have fathered You”;
    6 just as He also says in another passage,
    “You are a priest forever
    According to the order of Melchizedek.”
    7 In the days of His humanity, He offered up both prayers and pleas with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him [e]from death, and He was heard because of His devout behavior. 8 Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered. 9 And having been perfected, He became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey Him, 10 being designated by God as High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek. (Hebrews 5:1-10 / New American Standard Bible / NASB"

    My Testimony and what I've Learned - Pastor Patrick Hines Christian Podcast
    From the church website:
    We subscribe to the Westminster Standards as our doctrinal statement. It consists of the following documents:
    The Westminster Confession of Faith
    The Westminster Larger Catechism
    The Westminster Shorter Catechism
    We also believe that Christian Worship is to be regulated and defined by God's Word, the Bible.
    Our worship services are designed to please and honor the Triune God of the Bible. We place Scripture reading and the preaching of the word of God at the center of worship along with Baptism and the Lord's Supper. These are God's gifts to His church and ought to always be at the center of Christian worship. We are a congregation that loves to sing God's praises, recite His Word back to Him, and actively engage in hearing and learning from God's Word.
    We embrace and promote a comprehensive Christian world and life view.
    There is no area of life which is not under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. It is to God and His law which all people, including governments and civil rulers, will answer. The Word of God embraces and informs the way we view marriage, the family, children, education, politics, worship, law, government, war, the church, missions, evangelism, and worship. In the world today there is a battle of opposing worldviews. There are basically only two positions: God's Word and man's ideas. We stand positively for Biblical truth and negatively against man's ideas which are opposed to Biblical truth.
    The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only hope for mankind.
    Because all men fall short of obeying God's law, all men everywhere are in need of divine grace and salvation from God. This salvation is found only in the Lord Jesus Christ who died for sinners, was buried, rose again, and is alive today seated at God the Father's right hand.
    We Worship God Together as Families.
    We offer nursery during the morning worship service for newborns and infants but encourage people to keep as many of their children as they can with them for morning worship. The audio of the service is in the nursery via speakers. There is also a crying room with a video screen and audio of the sermon. We offer Sunday school classes for all ages, but worship together as families. We do not offer "children's" church. Children need to be in morning worship as soon as possible so they can learn how to participate as active worshipers of the Living God which includes the singing of His praises and listening actively to sermons.
    COMMUNION.
    Communion is served monthly. All who profess faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and are members of an evangelical church are cordially invited to participate with us in the Lord's Supper.

    Encouraging talk, thank you. Made me smile to know this exists. It has never been a part of my life, since childhood. But I loved listening ... And learning... That it does exist. Our highest calling... Love God, love others

    Thank you for this. I'm 41 and God has found me in my far into my ignorants and misery. And I never imagined I'd one day truly ever understand that God is a loving Fact. I still feel unworthy and no one believes me and makes me question my own reality. I am of God's elect and it's hard for me to ever it. My miracles from God are the reason my faith and beliefs are now irrelevant. I only wish I recognized this long ago. Thank you for sharing this❤

    What an awesome testimony, and exhibition of pure understanding of God’s gracious gift of eternal salvation through Jesus Christ! Thank you! My spouse passed away on July 1st 2019, and this testimony indicted me, I certainly did not always keep the joy in my spouses face, that beautiful jewel that God gave to me to care and love, and I am tormented to this day, maybe for the rest of my earthly existence, by my lack in this, as well as many other areas. I was not a “born again” Christian throughout the 24 years of our union, nor was my beautiful lady, but we were both professing RC’s. However, I now have, since her passing, become a Christian fully and believe absolutely that the Lord redeemed me through the precious Blood of Jesus Christ, and profess His name alone as my Savior! Although she was not a “born again” Christian when she passed, I know that she believed fully in her heart that He was her Saviour, besides that she was truly loving, to not only her parents, whom she adored and tried to help, even at personal risk to her own health, but her heart poured out to those who were having hard times as well. She would be the type who would rush to open a door for anyone whom she saw struggling. As her health deteriorated, this love towards others and their plights ironically became even stronger. I truly hope that I will see her again in our Heavenly home.

    It is a special testimony; your children are glorious; I praise God for this! Have you considered that encouraging a love that doesn't exist is an issue? Your Dad did well in his prayer life. We cannot all, have this outcome though one partner try their hardest.
    'We ought to marry with care and wisdom,' but this takes many aspects to be right; then the hard work required, will reap a joyful garden; if in Christ we trust and we love Him!

    Did you have anything to do with your salvation or did God merely choose you based on some unknown reason over the next person?

    • @reformedpresbyterianpulpit6745
      @reformedpresbyterianpulpit6745 2 года назад +2

      I had nothing to do with my salvation except the sin that made it necessary. God chooses according to His own purpose but not because of anything good in me or anything foreseen that I would do. It was truly, solely, completely, and only grace.

      @@reformedpresbyterianpulpit6745 repent from sins, believing in Christ, mortifying the deeds to your flesh so you will live…. Just a couple of the many reasons one is chosen by God. Many are Called Few Are Chosen. God calls them but then doesn’t choose them?.. The reason there not choses is because the fail to conform to his Holy Image mostly because they don’t turn from there sin.
      You seem to get very agitated when you spoke about it being grace alone.
      Read James 2 how Abraham was justified when his actions matched up with his proclamations, proving he truly believes.
